Writing LabVIEW measurements of two loops (Charge cycle and discharge cycle) in one file

Hey,
I was wondering if it is possible to write Labview measurements from two loops (Stacked Sequence Structure) into one file. Currently, it is writing the charging data in one file and discharging data in one file. I have to combine the data everytime to graph the charge and discharge cycles and sometimes there's about 50 cycles and copying and pasting does take up lot of time.

Hi,
If you have to deal with more complex situations, you can define a delivery cycle in the material master record in addition to the planning cycle. In so doing, you determine the days on whichthe vendor delivers his goods. The delivery cycle is entered in the material master record as a planning calendar in the Planning calendar field.
You enter a delivery cycle if the delivery date (or the goods receipt date) depends on the day on which you order the goods. For example, you carry out the planning run and place your orders on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you place the order on Monday, the delivery is made on Wednesday, if you wait until Tuesday to place the order, the delivery is not made until Friday
Where as Planning calander is Three character number (numeric or using letters) that specifically identifies a PPS-planning calendar. The difference between Planning calender and delivery cycle is If you have selected the MRP type "MRP" and have set a period lot-sizing procedure according to planning calendar, you enter here which planning calendar is to be used.
If you selected the "time-phased planning" MRP type, the planning calendar that you specify here defines the delivery cycle. This specifies the days on which the vendor delivers the material. You can enter the planning cycle in addition to the delivery cycle

LabVIEW array performance: Two loops operating on the same massive array

Yes there has been a lot said and left unsaid about LabVIEW performance in the past - but I have to ask the following:
Is it possible to have two seperate while loops act on the same data without making copies?
Say I have a 1GB array of doubles which I have wired to a shift register on one loop. With a little bit of effort (by using in-place and chasing the dots a bit) it would be possible to operate on that data inside that loop without making copies.
But what if I need to also access that same array in a different loop (which is running at a different rate). I basically need two loops' shift registers to point to the same data. At the moment the only way I can manage this is to use DLL calls which destroys dataflow but al least makes no copies. It also means I cannot use LabVIEW code but have to resort to C coding.
Data corruption is no issue as the two loops, at any instant, operate in different locations of the array.
Any smart ideas that will work?

Good suggestion. Functional Globals also go by the name "Action Engine" as I discuss in this Nugget on Action Engines.
Put all of your number crunching code inside appropriately named Actions of the AE and that way all of the work CAN be done "in-place".

Battery Cycles and "Sleep Cycles"

Last week my battery died on me, but couldn't get a replacement on my Applecare because i'd gone over the maximum 300 charge cycles. Not a a happy bunny but it's one of them things, and forked out for a new one.
Now, i was wondering if there's such a thing as sleep cycles.
I.eis there a maximum number of times i can put my my macbook to sleep and wake up again?
I'm sure it's a large number and according to the customer service advisor at Apple, 300 for battery charges was a "large number" so i'm thinking, 'am i edging towards this unknown figure and then one day discover my macbook doesn't wake and be told "x number of sleep/wake up is a large number and you've gone over our max threshold and so do one"'

The issue you experienced with your battery is due to normal wear on lithium ion/polymer batteries. It's not that Apple set an arbitrary number of cycles and said "We won't replace it after that". The primary measure of the life for a lithium ion/polymer battery is measured in cycles. The actual number of cycles can vary based on a number of factors (the newer machines with built in batteries are spec'd at 1000 cycles). After you reach that level, battery performance will slowly degrade... but it is possible to just experience flaky battery behavior at any point after the recommended cycle cap. You can prolong the life of your battery by limiting how often you run the machine using the battery. The more you can run the machine while plugged in, the longer the battery will last you. A battery cycle is a measurement for a full charge and discharge of a battery. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of times that you can charge/recharge them. You just used it up.

IO - Read two image files and put them into one file

Hi,
i have 3 files in all. The two image files and one text file. I need to place the image in the first image file, followed by text in the text file and then the image in the second image file, into one file.
Can anyone tell me how do i go about doing this ?
i tried using fileinputstream and fileoutputstream, which works fine if all the 3 files have text but when the first and the third file have image, the code doesn't give any error but the result file displays only the image from the first file and nothing else.
i am running short of time and need to do this really soon.
if anyone has done anything like this. please let me know,

One approach would be to programmatcally create a single zip/jar file from the three input files. You can use the java.util.zip and java.util.jar packages for this purpose.
The other apprach would be to create a single image by drawing images and text strings on a BufferedImage object.
I think the first approach is preferable because you can easily extract the individual files from the zip/jar file

NOKIA X2 charging and discharging cycles & update

Being a NOKIA enthusiast, I got the Nokia X2 phone despite the overwhelming negative reviews it was getting. While it does have a number of shortcomings, all nokia bias asid, its a fairly good phone. But the one problem that really irks me is the VERY short battery timing. The phone CHARGES as well as DISCHARGES very quickly.
Each time I use the browser or any other app for a few minutes (usually less than five minutes), a few percent of battery is out. At this rate, my phone does not even last for one whole day.
I want to know if
-1 any of you users have the same problem as I do?
-2 do other X series phones have battery issues -
3 does it have anything to do with the 2.1 update? since the update, some odd feature like opera browser, or messages (which arent even running) or SCREEN consumes 20-25 percent of the battery.
-4 Is it likely that this issue will be solved in a coming update and whether is it even possible to solve the issue with an update?
Since if it is the processes running unnecessarily that guzzle all the juice then it might be so but if it is a fault in the design then we're probably stuck with this issue for the rest of the Nokia X2 period?

Battery Cycles and discharge when plugged in

Hi all,
Couple of questions from a newbie unibody MBP owner.
1) My battery is draining slightly even when I have it plugged in. Over 3 days using it plugged in and shutting down in between, my charge goes from 99% down to 95 and triggers a recharge. Is this normal?
2) My battery seems to add cycles every time I charge it - even if I've only used it on battery for an hour of plain browsing. Aren't cycles meant to reflect accumulated discharge rather than number of charging events?
Battery has been calibrated twice since I received it 2 weeks ago.

So re the charge cycle, it shouldn't be adding whole cycles to the count each time I only used a small a amount of charge, then recharge. IE - 1 cycle should = 10 x (using 10% of the battery, then recharging).
Since mine is adding cycles each time I recharge, is this likely to be a software or a hardware(battery) problem, and how do I get it fixed - just call AppleCare?

Is there a way to do a loop in VAB and save data to a file?

It is insisted that I form a loop counter in VAB, even though I have done it in LabVIEW. Is there a way of doing it in VAB? Also is there a way to save the data I collect in VAB or LabVIEW DSP module to a file on the computer? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Two separate iPhones syncing and backing up to one centralized iTunes library?

Hi all,
My wife and I have two iPhone 5s' and am wondering if we can sync and back these two separte iPhones to one iTunes library? The library is located on a NAS drive on a share just labeled Music.
Ideally I would like to keep the two backups and syncs separately but have the ability to load playlists and albums from the centralized iTunes and iPhoto library.
Can this be done?

As long as the phones have different names you can set different sync settings for them in iTunes. However, if they have the same Apple ID for iCloud any iCloud content (mail, calendar, contacts, notes, reminders) will be duplicated. The way to deal with this is to have different iCloud accounts on each device, but use the same Apple ID for the iTunes & App Stores. This way you can share music and apps.

We upgraded to Mavericks on two computers at work, and now Favorites from one computer show, while Favorites from the other don't. The same AppleID was used for the upgrade on both computers, but we have separate logins.

At work, we upgraded to Mavericks on two iMacs, using the same AppleID. Now, in Safari, the Favorites bar shows only my coworker's faves on both computers, and my Bookmarks are in the bookmark listing, also showing on both computers. How can we fix this, so that I only see my Favorites and Bookmarks and she only sees hers?

I hope it's okay that I post about my progress with this!
I restarted both computers and tested our Safari connection by deleting a couple of bookmarks on my computer. They did NOT delete from the other computer, so that problem seems to be resolved. I'm not sure what will happen if she signs back into iCloud, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I have two calendars in outlook and i cannot get one of them to sync with iphone

i have several calendars in my outlook. the one that used to sync to my iphone no longer does and doesnt show on the phone anymore.

I forgot to say that the duplicate entries return after I have deleted them. Strange to me is why do some contacts show up as many as 14 times. I am suspecting that there could be an issue with iCloud or iTunes. Truly a mystery to me for now.

The main difference between Assessment cycle and Distribution cycle is - in case of Assessment we use secondary cost element.
An example to highlight the difference is as under:
Common Costs incurred for example for Factory Cafeteria are booked to Cost Center - Z using primary cost element 400100 (Amount $ 100). During period end closing the costs are be allocated to Cost Centers A, B and C in the ratio of 50%, 20% and 30% respectively.
Distribution:
Sender Rule: Posted Amounts
Sender Cost Center - Z
Sender Cost Element - 400100
Receiver Cost Centers are A, B and C
In Receiving Tracing factor - we specify the percentages for each cost center.
When distribution cycle is executed. Cost Center Z will be credited by $ 100 and Cost Center A, B and C will be debited with $50, $20 and $30. All the postings will be made using the primary cost element 400100.
Assessment:
<b>Assessment Cost Element: 600100</b>.
Sender Rule: Posted Amounts
