Wrong Cumulative Balance in SBO 2007

Dear Experts,
I open up BP Account Balance, and notice the Cumulative Balance was accumulated with the C/D column (which is the document total for that transaction), instead of accumulating it from the Balance Due column which shows unreconciled balance due.
I have found SAP Note describing this problem as a definition. But logically, I will think that the term BP Account Balance is suppose to mean the balance due for that BP, instead of total  of every transactions related to this BP (Which the system defines it currently). Can anyone explain to me the idea between this system definition.
And if nothing can be changed in SAP now, is there a work around to find out the "REAL" cumulative balance due for a BP, that is how much "unreconciled" due balance do they have?
Please help and advice. Much Thanks!
Warmest Regards,
Chinho

Hi,
As you are aware that the version 2007 had the option of partial reconciliation which was earlier not available in the 2005 version. Therefore, in 2005 Version, the cumulative balance was displayed as balance due field accumulation.
However, in version 2007A, due to partial reconciliations being available, the balance due does not display the correct balance, hence the cumulative balance displays the total of the C\D fields.
The same is the logic and the working which is explained in note no. : 1128828 as well.
Hope it clarifies.

    Hello All,
I am currently facing an issue on SBO 2007.
I have an A/R Invoice and I want to copy it into Credit Memo. I am able to use COPY TO on A/R invoice form. But I am not able to use COPY FROM on form Credit Memo... The invoice is not on the list of all the invoices for this customer to select.
This issue happened only for this one invoice.
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello,
there is one credit memo already done for this invoice (about 1/3 of invoice) and for the rest is open balance in place. The invoice has status open.
I do not know how was the first credit memo done (from form Invoice - copy to or from form Credit memo copy from - but still should not affect other credit memo and theit creation)

  • G/L Account Determination Document for SBO 2007

I would like to find a document (word, excel or pdf) that explains the G/L Account Determination and its accounts. In which documents inside SBO are those account used? I see more accounts used in SBO 2007 and use trial and error to see these but preferred a document. I have seen the empowerment session about account determination but do not explain each of the accounts. Any help ?

Sorry for attaching wrong thread .
Please refer to the following information
g/l Account Determination ---> purchase ---> Expense Account
Define an expense account to be used as the default when a transaction of domestic purchasing is posted, for example, an A/P invoice. The system also selects this account as a default when you create new warehouses, item groups, and item master data records.
The expense account is applicable only when you use non-inventory items.
g/l Account Determination ---> purchase ---> Purchase Credit Account
Define an expense account to be used as default when a credit transaction for purchasing is created, for example, an A/P credit memo.
This account defaults for new warehouses, item groups and item master data records creation.
The purchase credit account can be the same as the Expense Account, in case you do not wish to record credits to a separate account.
Setup g/l Account Determination ---> inventory ---> Expense Clearing Account
Define an offsetting G/L account to clear journal entries created by A/P invoices and goods receipt POs. This G/L account is used in journal entries when the Allocation account is also involved.
Setup g/l Account Determination ---> inventory ---> Goods clearing Account
When you close goods receipt POs or goods returns, this account is used as an offsetting account to the Allocation account. In this case, the system does not register an inventory transaction; however, it creates a journal entry involving this G/L account.
Clearing account: An account to which postings are recorded temporarily because of a time gap between accounting transactions, organizational task distribution, or accounting transactions requiring clarifications.
No matter what kinds of clearing accounts, they will be temparary accounts per se.

  • Report with cumulative balance

    Hi!
There is a FI report for vendor ledger based on multiple profit center where a column is there for cumulative balance in the output.
Now when the user makes a subtotal on profit center the output generates based on multiple profit center but in that case the cumulative balance is misarranged and the output appears to be wrong.
what should I do to generate correct cumulative balance based on profit center.
    thanx
    Amit

    Dear Feroz Dosani.,
Since your account has been set up as FC, only FC balance can be directly controlled.  The difference between LC Cumulative Balance and the rate conversion come out of the fact: Exchange Rates are changed everyday,  all conversions would be done in posting day rate.  You have to run Exchange rate difference from time to time to reconcile LC.
    Thanks,

  • Different Balance Due and Cumulative Balance

    Hi Experts,
My Client, SBO 8.8 PL17, are experiencing an issue where the balances differ from the balance due screen and the cumulative balance.
There are 2 closed invoice showing in the cumulative balance window as well as on Ageing report. These 2 invoices was closed with Credit Notes, both are linked to the target credit, on the actual invoice it shows as closed, the applied transactions clearly states that the doc is closed. In the DB, the INV1 lines for the invoice is also closed.
For some reason it just doesn't want to pick up that the invoice is linked to the credit.. The credit is not displaying though.
I have have read through notes but none of them have the same issue as this, they are all related to partial payments, which is not the case here.
If anyone have any suggestions, please let me know.
    Kind Regards,
    Wynand.

    Hi,
Kindly check the following query whether the same gives any result :
    select * from OINV t0 inner join JDT1 t1 on t0.transid=t1.transid and t1.account<>t1.shortname
    where t0.docstatus='C' and (t1.BalDueDeb+t1.BalDueCred)<>0
Also, check the INV6 table and the values displayed therein for the paidtodate and paid fields.

  • BP - CUMULATIVE BALANCE

In my opinion the Cumulative Balance should display the sum of the "Balance Due" from each transaction.
In Version 2007 A ..."the Cumulative Balance field sums up the total transaction (invoice/payment) amounts. This field takes the amounts from the 'C/D (LC)' field and not the Balance Due field. Therefore, the total of the 'Balance Due' is not the same as the 'Cumulative Balance (LC)' "...
I think this is not the correct option, at all.
The Cumulative Balance field, only shows the cumulative balance of the transactions displayed on the screen. The Cumulative Balance differs when the option " Display Unreconciled Transactions Only " is ticked or unticked.(if there is partial payments or reconciliation...)...

    Hi Natalina,
cumulative balance is only informative value. It displays the information based on the original value of the transaction.
    Example:
If there are transactions with following numbers:
                        LC     Balance due     Cumulative balance
    IN                100            100                100
    Payment    (100)            (100)             (100)
    Result            0                0                 0
If there are transactions with partially reconciled numbers then the values should also be balanced: for example:
                        LC     Balance due     Cumulative balance
    IN                100            50                100
    Payment    (100)            (50)             (100)
    Result            0                0                 0
The case when there would be balance due different on these transaction there must be another transaction as otherwise the balance due would not balance on BP account.
                        LC     Balance due     Cumulative balance
    IN                100            0                100
    Payment    (100)            (50)             (100)
    Payment    (100)            (50)             (100)
    Result        (100)            (100)           (100)
There might be cases when there are differences e.g. in case of not recognized exchange rate (for foreign currency transactions) difference.

  • Cumulative Balances in PCA Balance Sheet cube are not correct.

    Hi
Could you please help me in sorting out this Issue.
Cumulative Balances in PCA Balance Sheet cube are not correct.
After doing a reconciliation my conclusions are:
Opening balance for 2005 (fiscal period 009.2005) is not in BW
Opening balance for 2006 (fiscal period 000.2006) is not in BW
Opening balance for 2008 (fiscal period 000.2008) is not in BW
Opening balance for 2009 (fiscal period 000.2009) is not in BW.
With the exception of fiscal year 2007(opening balance is in BW u2013 000.2007) the cumulative balance resets itself at the start of each fiscal year. The attached spreadsheet has an example of the data in BW and screen dumps from R3.
Please help me how to find Opening balance in BW for PCA
    Thanks
    Bharti

you need to derive your begining balance based on the fiscal year in your selection. It will be minus 1 year and period 12 for that year.

  • General Ledger: Cumulative balance question on G/L account balance.

    Hi SAP friends,
I had a question about cumulative balance.
If I  see ending balance of xyz account of abc company code  $5000 in 2007.
    Now this is carried forward.
When I beginning balance in 2008 . It is different number say $100000.
How is the system calculating that and where is it storing (what table).
This  new balance is probably due to   adjustments, asset posting etc etc.
But is there a table or a way the transaction is storing this change of balance from 2007 to 2008 because from bseg   the result varies.
    Thanks
    Kavita

U would have to rerun F.16 again, and also this time look at FS10N for the account whetehr there are any balances in period 13-16. There might be some adjustments done in between these periods.
Usually these control values per company, per period, per accounts are stored in table GLT0.

  • Opening and Cumulated Balances of PCA

    Dear BI Gurus,
I am using two standard (PCA) Data Sources
    <b>1. 0EC_PCA_3 and
    2. 0EC_PCA_4</b>      to Load data into my Custom Cube.I need Cumulated balance and Opening Balance of Actual Line Items for my reporting purpose.
There is an object 0BALANCE which is not getting populated from the  0EC_PCA_3 Data Source.
We are able to get only the Cumulated Balances of Periodic Transfer, but unable to get the Balances of all the other Accounts.
So, can anyone please help me out in getting the Cumulated Balances and Opening Balances of the Account Numbers.
    With regards

    For Delta update
The extract structure does not contain the BALANCE field. To get the inventory for balance sheet account, 0BALANCE can be filled in BW in den updating rules. For further information, see note 577644.

  • Problem with business partner cumulative balance

    Hi
I used to used the business partner balance enqury to quickly tell customers what they were due to pay up to the start of the month. I just looked at the cumulative balance of the last transaction of the previous month and that was it. I know I could run an aged credit report but this was quicker and easier. However since upgrade to 2007A the cumulative balance does not give the amount due for a part paid invoice so this does not work any more.
Question is has anyone writen a fast query or other report that calculates the cumulative balance based on outstanding amount?
    Thanks in advance
    Derek

    Hi!
Run this in SAP B1 Query Manager
    SELECT     T0.CARDCODE, MIN(T0.CARDNAME) 'Customer Name', SUM(T0.DOCTOTAL - T0.PAIDTODATE) 'Last Balance'

  • Difference between cumulative balance and line items total in FS10N

    hi,
when I am executing FS10n, I observed that the cumulative balance amount is not equal to line items total .  This is due to some amounts in previous years are varying from the line ltem totals in those periods of previous years.
This is not happening with QA server only Prdn server is facing this problem.  Can anybody provide me a way to solve this..!?
    Regards,
    AJo
I have checked the master data for the GL and the check box for line item display is selected. It has not been changed for years.
Edited by: Anil Jonnalagadda on Oct 22, 2008 10:57 AM

    Hi Anil,
The reason for the differences that you are viewing can be various. As the differences are found in the cummulative balance then it means that the differences might have occurred in previous fiscal years. The first stetp is to find when these differences were originated: You can run report SAPF190 (in se38) for previous fiscal years, and company code in question- This report should show the differences with message "Errors" in the log. If differences are found then you have to creeate a message and send it to SAP for further analysis and corrections.(only SAP experts can do this kind of corrections - component FI-GL-GL-X)
Also bear in mind that if you did archiving in previous fiscal years then this would not be an error:
If you already did archiving and secondary index deletion on this accounts with SAPF048I. So this explains why line items balance and GL summary balance differ ! There is no programm error.
See consulting note 81489 which describes this issue:
The balance of an account results from the balance of the open items. In
connection with an archiving that has been carried out, the line item
display - used with cleared items - must not therefore be interpreted as
a balance display. For the balance display, there are separate
correspond to the display balance of the open items from the line item
    display.
Having archived and deleted secondary indexes ( with SAPF048I )
for an account you can not use line item drill down as a balance
display any more for a line item managed account.
( as not all line items are existing any more in table BSIS ! )
The transactions meant to display the binding balances are  FS10N,
    FK10N and FD10N.
They also give you the line items details, but only of those line
items not yet deleted ( by SAPF048I ).
    kind regards,
    Oscar Diaz

  • Bridge CS5 applies wrong white balance during thumbnail extraction (raw files only)

    Hello to all Adobe Wizards,
Hobbiest photographer here. I use a Canon T2i and I have been shooting raw with auto white balance.
After I upload the CR2 files to Bridge, Bridge begins thumbnail extraction. This is when the problem begins: I watch Bridge extracting thumbnail photo after photo, turning them into wrong white balance one by one. After Bridge is done, I open one of these photos in Camera Raw, it shows the photo in "custom white balance". I was able to change it back to "As Shot". But every photo in Bridge now has custom white balance and is difficult to view in Bridge. This screenshot shows what my Bridge looks like after thumbnail extraction....
Yesterday, just out of curiosity, I took some photos with different white balance settings on the camera. I uploaded them to Bridge and Bridge over-wrote all the white balance settings. I then imported the same photos (from the same files) to iPhoto, they show up with correct write balance. Please see the second screenshot.
The third screenshot shows a unedited photo I opened from Bridge to Camera Raw, and the same photo as it appears in iPhoto, both unedited.
Again, this only happens to CR2 files. All tif, jpeg files are fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    -Wolfie

    Any ideas?
First of all, shooting Raw has the benefit of changing the color temperature (Whit Balance) to what ever you like from whatever you shot in camera.
To me it seems you once have saved a custom white balance as default setting and this is been applied to every new file because you told Bridge to do so. The easiest way to get out of this is open a raw file in ACR and in the basic tab at the right side you see a small icon for sub menu (next to the word basic). Click on it and from the row choose 'Reset Camera Raw defaults' at the bottom.
Also decide whether you want to stay in 16 bit mode (as you are now as shown in the blue line under the preview). If you want to chance it back to 8 bit just click on that blue line and choose your options from that menu. You only have to do this once for the files from that same camera, ACR remembers the settings for you.
Using 16 bit mode has advantages when using critical color corrections (but then you also should change the color mode to ProPhoto in my opinion). The disadvantage is that 16 bit doubles the file size compared to 8 bit
Having set the ACR defaults should effect your thumbs immediately by building new thumbs and previews but if not you must choose purge cache for folder from the menu tools / cache/ purge cache for folder. Now the new settings will be applied.
It may take some time so let Bridge do its work properly before starting other jobs in Bridge (see the activity bar bottom left to check if Bridge is still caching).

  • Document line with price zero in SBO 2007 A

    Hi All
We have a DI API AddOn that occationally has to create a document line with the total price of zero.
    In SBO 2005 A we just set SBODocument.Lines.Price = 0, but that doesn't work in SBO 2007 A.
In 2007A when we set SBODocument.Lines.Price = 0 it takes the price from the pricelist as though we had not entered a price at all. If we set SBODocument.Lines.Price to something else that zero it does correctly take the price we entered.
We have tried to set SBODocument.Lines.UnitPrice or SBODocument.Lines.LineTotal to zero in stead but it gives the same result.
    Any help appriciated.

    Sorry, my mistake.
The solution WAS indeed to set SBODocument.Lines.UnitPrice = 0

  • Difference in Cumulative balance amount of ERP and BW query report

    Hi all,
We have a report to display the Cumulative balance amount based on G/L account.
The issue we are facing here is, when we check a May month's cumulative balance in ERP side ( using Transaction code FAGLB03 by giving G/L account number, Company code and Year as 2010) we are getting 1000 EUR, and the May month's Balance is 300 EUR.
When we run our Qury report in BW side for the same conditions( same G/L account, Key due date as 31.05.2010 and same Company code) we are getting the Cumulative Balance as only 900 EUR. we are missing some 100 EUR in our report for our Cumulative balance. But,When I check the Cube on which our Query report runs, I could get the May month's balance as 300 EUR.
Kindly help me to rectify this issue.
