WRT54G ver 5.0 Blocked from secured sites

We have the WRT54G ver 5.0.  As of Tuesday night we have been blocked from all secure web pages.  Has anyone heard of a fix for this?  I updated to the internet explore 7 on 1/2/07.  The problem seems very new.

Hi…
First thing make sure u have the latest firmware on your router. Change the MTU of the router to 1300. And also forward the ports 443 to  447 for your router.

  • Blocked from specific sites

very weird. While connected to a site I frequent (moderate) I clicked submit (for a message/post) and received and coannot connect to server error in safari. Every other site associated with this URL is also inaccessible. BUT - ONLY these 4 sites are not accessible.
Thinking it might be related to Safari, I tried Opera, Mozilla and Explorer. Same issue in all browsers. I can access every site normally but not the 4 particular sites.
My ISP (WildBlue) says it is NOT them. All network preferences have been checked and confirmed as appropriate (and internet access IS working except for the formentioned URL's) The site owner says he is NOT blocking me. The sites ISP insists that the problem is not them or a DNS server issue. They all say that my Mac is the problem. (I access these sites 50 times per day for past several years from my macs w/o any problem unitl I clicked submit on a post)
What else could be wrong. This is totally weird and driving me nuts

    I have a similar problem.
A site I frequent (because I own it) is blocked from my mac. Also, any other site on my host's server is blocked as well.
These sites are blocked in Safari, Firefox and Explorer.
I am connected to the internet through a Netgear hub that two computers share. If I go and turn on the Windows machine downstairs, all the sites are accessible.
This makes me quite sure that it is my Mac that is doing the blocking.
I never set up any kind of blocking. One day I could get to my website, and the next day I couldn't. I upgraded from OS 10.2.8 to Tiger, and the problem carried over through the upgrade.
I've been searching everywhere for a solution, but I'm totally baffled.

  • Blocked from a site!?

I seem to have been permanently blocked from one certain web-site, by the person who's web-site it is. Is there anyway I can get around this?
    Thanks for your help
    Alexandria

    Hello Alexandria,
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can use a proxy to get around the site blocking, but rather that doing that, try to reason with the site developer. If that fails, use a free proxy (search Google for lists of free proxies - there are just too many sites to list).
When you've found a proxy that's close to your location (which is important since the speed of your connection depends on how close the proxy is to your location), enter it in System Preferences > Network > Proxies. Note that proxies that are free can monitor anything sent over it, including personal data which is why I highly recommend you use it as a last resort.
    Hope this helps,

  • Pushing Flash from Secure Site

    Greetings...
I've been successfully implementing swf's within regular ol'
http sites for a while. However, I'm currently working within a
secure environment and client wants flash. I haven't been able to
view flash files from within this environment despite every effort.
Can someone please direct me towards information regarding
the server side setup to push flash from a secure site? When using
Dreamweaver to drop a flash file on a page writes the
RunActiveContent and writes the embed script... I've noticed that
the url references within this script call to non-ssl http
addresses... Are there secure calls to these codebases, etc?
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    And always remember.....
    "sunshine... is for free!"

I want to say this is covered on the Active Content Developer
Center, but I can't remember for certain:

  • On new MBP, wont download pdfs from secure sites, like banks. "unknown error" reported. Using Acrobat.

Recently started using a Macbook Pro, formerly ran Firefox on a PC. Installed Acrobat and it works fine, and will download pdfs from internet fine, UNLESS it is from certain sites, that as near as I can tell have in common that I needed a password to get in (eg, Bank, insurance company). At this sites I can't download a pdf file, and am told that an "unknown error" occurred and I should try saving directly link to the disk. But this doesn't work either, it just wants to save a .cgi file, not the pdf. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Did you try to save that cgi file and give it a .pdf file extension?

  • Undo passwords from secure sites

I pay my bills online and I saved passwords when prompted now I think that was a bad idea. How do I undo these saved passwords for bank and credit card sites?

You can remove saved logins using the Options dialog:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
If you have a Master Password set, you might be requested to enter it again in order to do this.
    Success?

  • How to avoid the JRE dialogbox if downloading applet from secured site

If that applet makes contact with that site again it ask the username and password, can this be avoided? I had allready logged in with the browser.

i have the same problem , not solved yet ...

  • I failed to Confirm Security Exception for a site confirmed to be trusted, but apparently only supported by Internet Explorer, and am now barred from the site, so how do I access it?

I have been successfully accessing a secure site using a Citrix plugin. The security certificate for the site was renewed on 17 September and is valid, but is apparently supported by Explorer. When I accessed it today, Firefox reported it as Insecure. I attempted to bypass the Firefox block, but must have failed to Confirm Security Exception, so that my access is now denied as I 'have said this is not a trusted site' (error 183). Is there any way I can now access the site.

    Thank you for your reply.
My problem isn't removing my log-in name and password for a site.
The problem is I already had the log-in name and password saved by FF, but I was required by the site to change the password. FF did not recognize that it had changed and refuses to prompt me to save the new password.
After several attempts to force the prompt, I deleted the site from the Saved Password list, hoping that the next time I entered my log-in name and password on that site FF would ask if I wanted to save both. That did not happen even after exiting FF and relaunching it.
So, right now FF will not save my log-in name and password for a site that it used track for me. Given the complexity of the new password, I really do not want to manually enter it every time I use the site.
    Regards.

  • Template.xsn. Access to locations on different site collections is blocked for security reasons

I am using sharepoint 2010 onpremise.
I created a custom list, content type and columns. After this I go to the list and click on the infopath button in the ribbon to customize the form. I changed the form and published to the server.
Now I get this error when I go to some page where I have added a infopath webpart:
The following location is in a different site collection:
http://www.myCompany.nl/someSubsite/Lists/VraagEnAntwoord/VraagEnAntwoord/template.xsn. Access to locations on different site collections is blocked for security reasons. For more information, contact your site administrator.
    This website has anonymous access.
I have googled and found many people with this problem, but I dont find some solution. Someone talk about create a template from infopath and then publish it to a content type. I dont understand this solution. Can someone help?

You are actually running an older version of Firefox (8). You should update to Firefox 9.0.1 and see if that helps

  • Abobe reader blocked from site

    Ok,
Adobe reader blocked from site -- message that appears after clicking on a pdf on the following sites. Does not occur on all sites but increasingly so.
    Tested on these sites:
    www.vmware.com
    www.uscis.gov -->http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/n-400.pdf
    http://www.bsatroop321.org/BSATroop321/Troops_MB_files/Citizenship%20World%20Troop%20321.p df
    Symptoms
    1. Go to site
    2. Click on PDF found on a web page on the site
    3. Get 'black screen'
    4. Asked to trust or cancel. Also instructions to go to preferences and set trust or not for site
    5. Select 'trust'
    6. Go back to URL of PDF and all that appears is a solid black screen with no message.
    Running Mac OS 7.5.1
Replicated problem on both Chrome (latest version) and Safari 6.1.
Have tried 'allow', 'always allow' under Safari's security preferences for 11.0.4 in Safari's preferences menu. Doesn't help.
Have latest version of Reader, 11.0.4 or 11.4 installed (installed this 3 days ago). BTW, Adobe Reader v 7 was working fine!
A resolution to this would be great because I need certain PDFs for work or to train Boy Scouts in their merit badge class.

PS  Obviously any URLs from before the recent forum changes must be updated to the new URLs.

  • Whenever I click a link in one web site, Firefox blocks the clicked site from opening.

In the new tab, I get a message from Firefox, much like the Pop-up blocker that says "Firefox has prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page." I have to click "Allow" to get the site to load. This has just started happening in the past couple of weeks, and to my knowledge, I have not changed any of my Firefox settings.
This always happens if I click a link in Gmail, even when I know I am going to a trusted site. It also happens if I click a link from one site to another, including trusted banking sites, Amazon.com, and the like.

  • Error while creating sites on entire site collection - the file you are attempting to save or retrieved has been blocked from this web site by server administrator

    Hi,
I am trying to create a new sub site. Everytime I try to create the site I get this error:
the file you are attempting to save or retrieved has been blocked from this web site by server administrator
This applies to almost all site templates except the "blank site" template. I am logged in as System Administrator.

    Issue resolved!
Don't know how but somehow, xml was added to the Blocked file types. Removing the entry did the trick.

  • Everytime I use IE, first I have to click on the IE bar to allow blocked contect to display. What is the content that is being blocked from IE? viewers may not know what the problem is and see my site totally out of format.

This is iweb development where after publishing, things look different in IE than other browsers. U r correct that this is due to IE software but is iWeb related. After all, one uses iweb not to just publish in Safari but for all browsers.
Which means that you are only considering half of the problem, but that's your choice.
    I'm out.

  • Firefox 5 for Mac doesn't fully load many secure sites: from Schwab to Ally

FF5 for the Mac is buggy when it comes to https and other secure sites. I've had trouble getting full functionality with everything from Schwab to AllyBank to Barclay to Gmail as part of a gadget on iGoogle. No problems at all with Safari accessing these sites. My java script is on, and when I turn OFF extensions, the sites are still buggy even when I turn on the extensions one-by-one. I havae no add-ons at all. The url below is just one example. It's the Barclay Card site, and everything looks fine---except there's no log-in button.

I had a similar problem with Firefox 5.01 on my Windows 7 machine. Generally, the symptoms were rather bizarre and not necessarily consistent. I often simply closed and reloaded Firefox in order to be able to work in Firefox for a limited time. Finally I realized that the problems started when I upgraded to Firefox 5.01, so I uninstalled 5.01 and installed 4.01. Problem solved. I will have to leave it up to you code wizards to figure out 5.01's problem.
