WS7+PHPPack: LDAP Extension support

We're trying to install the PHP Pack on WS7, however we have a couple apps that require the LDAP extension. The PHP Pack does not include the LDAP Extension. We tried compiling from source and including the LDAP extension, however, eventually it became out of hand due to the number of dependent libraries ensuring the right architecture (32-bit vs. 64-bit). We also tried compiling the extension alone, however the path for phpize command (required for the build) is pointing to a non-existent directory (it seems to be the developed directory which PHP had been compiled in by the Sun engineers). How would I go about installing this extension quickly?
Moving forward, will Sun compile the LDAP Extension in the next PHP Pack very shortly? I'd assume they would have it by default because of the heavy directory integration.
Thanks,
Thomas Madej

Compiling PHP for Web Server is fairly
straightforward. I document the process here:
http://developers.sun.com/webserver/reference/techart/
php2.html
If you compile as FastCGI then you don't need to
worry about whether you have a 64-bit or 32-bit Web
Server install. It definitely is straight forward. However, the complexity is in the library versions. We're looking to running PHP in NSAPI mode. I have read your documentation prior to compiling and used it to base the decision to use NSAPI mode. Do you have another solution for this while keeping NSAPI mode?

  • Extension panel in Ps CC aug 2014 is unavailable! No extensions support. Please help

How can i manage? I have no extensions support and extension function faded out in WINDOW->pop-up list in my PS CC (using Ps Lr Plan in CC, OS X 10.9.4). The latest Adobe Extension Manager neither recognizes any extensions or programms (the list is empty).

    Good day!
Which Panels are you talking about exactly?
If it’s Flash Panels you can forget them for CC 2014 as Flash support has been dropped; but one can create custom Panels in html5 now.

How enable the php4-ldap extension with OCS and Apache ?

Manish is correct (+5), your only option would be to use different attribute or purchase 3rd party product that logs in automatically based on PC access.

  • Lack of Nvidia extension support under macosx

I'd like to play City of Heroes under macosx using Crossover Games.
I can do so fine on my macbook pro because it has a ati graphics card.
However on my tower I have a nvidia graphics card and the game will not load.
When I reported it to Crossover Games, I got the following email:
    From Stefan Dösinger <[email protected]>
date Thu, Aug 7, 2008 at 11:39 AM
    subject CrossOver Games Mac Trial
It says "Your card does not support GLNV_vertexprogram" when I launch CohUpdater.exe .
That's because GLNV_vertexprogram(a nvidia specific opengl extension) isn't supported on MacOS. It is strictly speaking a bug in CoH. This extension isn't garanted to be there, even if you have an Nvidia card. An application must not depend on it.
The thing is that this extension happens to be supported by all Nvidia drivers on Windows and Linux, but MacOS uses different drivers which don't support it. So the game's broken assumption that Nvidia->GLNV_vertexprogram support doesn't hold true on Macs.
I can understand that this causes troubles for you. I can file a bug in Apple's bugtracker requesting support for this extension, but its likely that they'll just tell me that software can't depend on this extension.

Not really sure what type of response you're expecting here. Youv'e been told that the drivers don't support it, and there's really nothing your or anyone else here can do about it but hope for future support.

  • Dreamweaver 8 FrontPage Extension Support?

    Hi All,
I have posted this question in the Exchange Forum but I have
not received a response so I am expanding the question to the
General Forum in the hope that one/some of you have seen this
    problem.
I have a client that requires me to work with a FrontPage
enabled server and to use FrontPage extensions. As some of you may
know there is an Extension, published by Adobe, that enables DW and
DWMX 2004 to work with FrontPage Extensions. These extensions
create an additional drop down menu item option in the 'Remote
Info' Category of the Site Definition Wizard.
However, the latest extension (for DW MX 2004) does not work
in DW8; the extra FrontPage extension option fails to appear in the
Site Definition wizard's Remote Info Access category.
Does anyone know how to enable DW8 to work with FrontPage
extensions and FrontPage enabled servers? Should the MX 2004
extension work in DW8? Should I be using a different exchange
download or can the MX 2004 extension be modified locally to allow
    access to the FrontPage Extensions?
Any help, as always, is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Before doing anything else, take a couple of weeks to
    gothrough the DW
tutorials, and also to study HTML and CSS. The more you know
    about those,
the easier your transition will be. DW expects alot more from
    you than FP
did, and as a result, you may find it much more frustrating
    to have the raw
reality of web development staring you in the face rather
    than the wizards
    of FP.
    > Is there a way to convert a Frontpage site into a
    > Dreamweaver site
    1. I'd define a Dreamweaver site that points to a location on
    your hard
drive for the local site's root, and to the current FP site
    on the web as
    the remote site
    2. I'd use Dreamweaver (if your host supports FTP
    connections) to download
the remote site to the root of the site you just defined on
    the hard drive.
This will pick up all the pages *after* webbot action so that
    shared borders
and all are already present in the page HTML. This will also
    pick up all of
the server scripting. Note - in the event that you are not
    able to connect
using FTP since some FP hosts block that protocol, you will
    have to use a
third party 'site copier' like Black Widow, QuadSucker, or
    WebCopier, (or
even the DW extension called SiteAssist from WebAssist) to
    connect and
download using http protocols. Doing it this way will *not*
    retrieve any of
your server-script code, if any (unless you have used the
    WebAssist
    extension).
    3. I'd create a DW template for the pages, that captures the
    "shared
    border"
    effect you had in FP.
    4. I'd copy and paste content from each FP pages to a new
    template child
page and then save the new child page with an easily
    identifiable
nomenclature that is distinct from what was used on the FP
    site (since you
are saving the new child pages into the same local site as
    the FP pages).
    5. When the basic site is completed, I'd upload the new DW
    pages to some
staging area/webspace, and by using the browser, I'd verify
    that the site
(as it now exists remotely) is complete.
    6. Then I'd create a *new* DW site in a new location on the
    hard drive, and
connect to and download all the files from the staging site.
    7. You can now delete the original FP site from your local
    system if you
    want.
You now have a complete site (minus any of the FP extension
    server-side
code) that has no FP footprint.
If you have used any FP server extension functions on the
    original FP site
(form processing, guestbooks, tables of contents, etc.), you
    will have to
recreate those functions in DW using 3rd party scripts, or
    scripts that you
    write yourself.
If this site will continue to be 'touched' by FP, don't even
    think of using
    DW on it.

  • Will Native Extensions support C#?

The title pretty much covers it, but to go into more detail:
Various blogs and spec pages have indicated that C and Java are the 2 main native languages used.  However, does that actually mean that Native Extensions is limited to this?
    In an article here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/developing-native-extensions-air.html
Daniel says 'Although you may be interested in targeting Objective-C, C#, C++, C, or some other language'.  Does this mean that C# will be supported? And if so, does that mean that the open source variants Mono and Portable.NET will also be supported for UNIX?
    Thank you,
    Dominic

You have to use C to interact with the ActionScript extension classes, but the rest of the extension can be written in any language that you can access from the C code on the specific platform. Objective C, C++, and C# should be fairly straightforward (but I'm not particularly knowledgable on the subject).
Have a look at the .net image encoder example here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air.html for an example of how to use .net in an extension.
(Java can be used directly on Android and Blackberry Tablet OS.)

  • Is Adobe stopping extension support in CS3?

They don't have any specific documentation listed for CS3
    Dreamweaver extensions here-->
    http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/extend.html
Dreamweaver 8 appears to be the last version.
Does that mean Adobe is not supporting Extensability via
    extensions in CS3?

Extensions are supported in CS3, the page listed was likely
produced before the purchase of Macromedia by Adobe and hasn't been
updated. Documentation for DWCS3 (although I think that this may be
updated to CS4 references only at some point):

  • LDAP server support for NetWeaver

I would like to know what LDAP Directory servers are officially supported by Netweaver versions.  I have been scouring the web and can not find any document where it is written which product is officially support.  Some places I read about Novell, but nothing concrete on the offical support .
Does anyone know the answer and where I can find more info on this.
    Thanks

    Hi Frajib,
I don't think I've seen a list for netweaver in general.  I do know for the Portal application on Web AS 6.40 you have the following LDAP options.
       MS ADS
       SUN ONE
       NOVELL LDAP Server
       Siemens LDAP Server
    Hope this helps.

  • Status of Windows Shell Extensions Support

    Hi,
Are Windows Explorer Shell Extensions viable (Column Extensions in particular)? If so, is C++/ATL the best approach?
All the article/docs I search seem to be 5-10 years old, and it appears .NET shell extensions are not recommended by Microsoft. I have been testing some .NET shell extensions with quite a bit of difficulty.

I don't think column extensions have been viable since XP.

Different camps at MS have said different things, especially when .Net
4 came out, but I think the consensus is that it's not recommended to
do shell extensions in .NET - however, people still do them! :(

  • Match rules of Extended Operation

I used match rules of Extended Operation to search the certificates in ldap server(ldap v3), the filter is "userCertificate:2.5.13.35:=digitalSignature" ,but the server returned the error code LDAP_UNAVAILABLE_CRITICAL_EXTENSION,why? and what other things should i do to get the right result?

Is that a matching rule that only matches the signature field of the certificate? If so, then Sun DS (and Netscape DS) does not support that. If you want to support searching and filtering on fields of the certificate, you will have to save those fields as separate attributes of the entry. There is an LDAP extension supported by some servers, but not Sun DS. BTW, it is very difficult to implement. Even the Certificate Server does not try to implement it - it just stores the fields as separate attributes.

  • Does the EP Sneak Preview support LDAP authentication?

When using the EP Sneak Preview is LDAP authentication supported or is only Portal Authentication supported?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Neil and welcome on SDN,
YES! you can configure EP Sneak Preview with LDAP. Check the documentation on help.sap.com for how to do this.
    Hope this helps,

  • OIM LDAP Sync for MS LDS (ADAM) support?

Is OIM LDAP Sync supported via OVD against MS LDS as the backend?
    Thanks.

Just export your LDAPUser.xml and see whether any multivalue attribute <tags> are present?
If not, then i believe you need to go ahead with Connector Approach instead of LdapSync.

  • LDAP Connector: SSL support and de-provisioning

    Hi guys
I have two questions regarding the SAP LDAP Connector (LDAP client):
    1) Does the SAP LDAP connector support connections to SSL-enabled directories?
    2) Does the SAP LDAP connector make it possible to delete SAP users, when the corresponding user is deleted in the directory (which is the 'leading' system in such a scenario).
    BR
    Tom Bo

    Tom,
The IDM LDAP connector does support SSL.  The LDAP connector will support add, modify and delete operations.
This [thread|Provisioning to AD - Is SSL mandatory ?; might be helpful as well.

  • WLSE support of Novell LDAP server NDS

    Hi all,
It seems that WLSE (tested with 2.12) generates LDAP search packets that are not compatible with Nortel LDAP server called NDS.
NDS is not designed to give the Userpassword in a reply of a ldap search as it is requested by the WLSE.
I did not found on CCO a document that describes the LDAP servers supported by WLSE.
Does anybody know what LDAP servers are supported by WLSE (2.12) and if NDS is supported?
I attach logs on WLSE + sniffer trace where we can see teh ldap search from teh WLSE and the reply from NDS (not contating the UserPassword value).
    Many thanks for your help.
    Regards/Ludovic.

I have the same problem with WLSE express 2.12 version, i have been trying to authenticate users against lotus LDAP server with not success, after make some test, i found that if y send the password in clear text the test passed but if i specify any other option that was not clear text or md5 the test was not success, so i think this device not support encryptation, I open a case and effectively they said that i was not supported but not give me the reason
