WVC210 new software & firware upgrade problems
I just purchased a 2nd WVC210 camera, so I have 1 wired & 1 wireless. I upgraded the camera firmware (1.0.0.12) & Video monitoring software (1.2.0). When I monitor the cameras with the supplied video monitor software, there is a large amount of noise that streams across the video (blocks the video). When I enlarge the view to full screen, I have clear video. The recorder also records this VERY noisy video for playback. I returned to the old version of video monitor software (1.0.0) & everything looks fine. There seems to be a BUG with the new video software upgrade. Anyone else have this problem? HELP!
Also when I upgraded to camera firmware to 1.0.0.12, I cannot set the motion detect window & sensetivity, because the video window is displayed over the menu panel, which it should not be. Anyone else with this problem? Looks like another BUG in the firmware upgrade. I did not have these problems with the old firmware & software. I feel like we have been made the Beta testers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest contacting Cisco Tech Support and report this experiments you made. Maybe the product engineers are also not aware that this problem you observed or they can further look into this. I believe this unit belongs to the business series devices that Cisco is now supporting. Ibook with CD drive only + new software on DVD = problems
The 500mhz ibook with cd drive is still going strong! I would like to move up to at least Tiger and iWork 2005 on the ibook but these titles are on DVD. I have a G5 iMac... is there anyway to connect the two machines and install software onto the ibook via the G5? Any other creative workaround suggestions are welcome!

GregHi, Greg. Have you upgraded the hard drive, or was it a custom-build iBook with a bigger hard drive than standard? I don't really recommend installing Tiger on a 10 GB hard drive.
Our own F.J. has written an article on Installing Tiger without a DVD drive.
You may want to check it out, but if you have just a 10 GB hard drive, I'd think about it long and hard before proceeding. You need to keep about 5 GB free for Panther or Tiger to run smoothly. You are going to have to be consumed with disk maintenance if you install it on a 10 GB hard drive. -
WRT54GS v2.1 Firware Upgrade problem

I've been trying to upgrade the firmware on my WRT54GS to the newest version and all I'm getting is the message:
"Upgrade terminated due to insufficient resources.Upgrade failed.Please try again when system is idle (no Internet traffic)."
I've done like a dozen hard and soft resets, returned to factory defaults, turned off all the programs that use internet connections on my computer and I even refrained from plugging my internet cable to the router...
Still I get this message.
Can anyone help me?Use the following procedure for firmware upgrades:
1) Determine your router's model number and version. Each version of the router has different hardware in it, so it uses different firmware.
2) Download the latest firmware for your router's model and version.
3) Download the Linksys tftp.exe program
4) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
5) Disconnect all wires from the router.
6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Enter your user name (if any) and password. Go to the firmware upgrade tab, and upgrade the firmware. Be patient. It usually takes 3 to 7 minutes, but can take up to 15 minutes. If you cannot get the firmware installed with the built in firmware upgrade utility, then use the Linksys tftp.exe program to load the firmware into your router.

I've recently upgraded to the new software (5.1), since then the iTunes doesn't recognize my iphone, as the error comes up:' iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error (ex8000022).
Are you guys facing the same problem?

My MacBook Pro does not recognize my Android Incrdible 2 cell phone and therefore I can not transfer any photos from my cell phone to my Mac. I was able to do this in the past, but can not do so now. I have not upgraded to any new software. My USB cable is plugged in properly and I just get an error message -- "No Android Device Found". What could be the problem?
I had the same issue with the Galaxy S4 trying to see what the hype was about and was my first and last android phone. With that being said unfortunately it is a hit or miss with the Mac recognizing an android device or not. It worked perfectly fine the first time around and then it stopped working for no apparent reason. Through trial and error nothing I did solved the issue. I did however plug it in my Mac and left it connected for about 30-40 min to charge for a bit and all of the sudden it recognizes the phone. So I just launched Android File Transfer and everything else became fluid after that. I have no explanation as to why it happened that way, but what I gathered from this is maybe you just have to let it sit for a minute while plugged in before the Mac recognizes it, after all they are opposing software. On a side note this is why I will always be an apple user, Iphones and the like never have this problem

I just "upgraded" my iPhone with the new software. As a low vision person, your phone was always previously helpful. I now discover that I cannot use the phone easily. The font has been changed to a very narrow typeface and the greyscale has been altered to reduce contrast. The background is now grey as well rather than white. The accessibility options permit only three choices. First, increase type size. With the the low greyscale, thin typeface, increasing type size makes it HARDER to read. There is no option for contrast enhancement. Third, the background switch options suffers from the same deficit as the white background. The third choice is to enhance brightness but without the option to change contrast, this is useless. Am I missing something? Can this be fixed? How? When? Are you planning a similar negative "update"/change to other devices?
I am having the same problem. I have gone through every setting, set the bold font, contrast, larger font....everything I could find in any post to try and help - and between the new color scheme that makes it virtually impossible to use the pictures of my grandchildren as background (the picture colors now become the theme colors - which now match the colors of many of the "flat" icons...) I am finding the phone very difficult to use--espeically things like the calendar which has now become very hard to "see" and use. If I can't revert this thing to iOS6, I may have to get a different phone.

Upgraded to new software version - now phone wont work
i use vista - i plugged my phone in today (whihc isnt jailbroken) - it asked to download the new software and install - when trying to install - it wanted the mobile device recovery drivers - i have tried everything sugguested - manually selecting the drivers from common files - also completely reinstalling itunes.
this is a business phone and is now unusable

Can you please explain the steps you took to "activate" your phone again?
I am having this problem:
1) after upgrade to the new software, phone was stuck in recovery mode (usb-itunes picture). Not jailbroken either.
2) have done the "reset" i.e. off button & home button together
2) I reinstalled itunes many times
3) switch usb port many times
4) de-auth / re-auth many times as well as purchased / download free apps (however, unable to sync due to itunes not recognizing the phone)
5) BUT it still won't restore (error codes such as 13, 14 0r 1604)
Can you or any here help me?? Can't use the phone at all. Very frustrating.....

I have an imac osx 5 months old. For the first time today I can not open my desktop folders which are very important to me. How can I open these folders.
The message when I click on the folder is "appleworks 6 quit unexpectedly". I can not open the folder. Is it possible that new software installed could cause the problem when I get the message "new softward available for your computer, install now. Maybe I should never install upgrade. I understand code injected into a specific app like safari that uses the global environment variable to access the code in /Users/Shared. But I don't understand how that code could be executed by attempting to run an randomly chosen ppc app. Unless of course other code has been injected is in a more critical place than just safari and that is scary.

Note that there is a filter component to keep it from loading code into apps that would be unstable, so watch for the next variant to filter out ppc only apps.
In a related matter, I got word from the PC side of the house that similar techniques are being used by drive-by infections that were injecting code into a running app which would disappear when they quit the app. A one-time infection, so to speak. Makes it really hard to even know you were temporarily infected, let alone how, why, what damage, etc. -
No On Demand services since new software upgrade

I got the new software download on 30th Sep and everything seemed fine until I tried to watch a programme from 4oD last night. I got a DRM1 playback error, immediately followed by an error VCN800: "Ooops there's been an error, try again in a bit"
Over the last ten days I've only watched recorded programmes and BBC iplayer which is working fine. However now I look, I see that none of the other channel catch-up services are working, as well as a few TV box sets and films I've tried - great!
It was all working perfectly until this upgrade.....
I've tried rebooting HH3 and the BT Vision box - and no joy. I can't find these error codes in the list on the website. I see from the forum someone tried these out for a DRM1 error: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42451/c/348 - but not sure about the VCN800 error as I've not found mention of this yet - does anyone have any advice?

Intentionally not upgrading to the new software
I am intentionally not upgrading to the new software for my ipod touch since I have seen so many people having trouble with it on this website. Can someone tell me what features I am missing.
ThanksWhat you are referring to is security patches that have to be released regularly by MS. I would take issue with your claim that very few of them cause issues, but to clarify they cause issues with some computers depending on the configuration. And then again some of them caused system wide problems and had to be retracted.
Firmware updates on iPods/iPhones are much more akin to Service Packs than security updates, but you are talking about different technologies, processors, etc.
Since buying my 4th Generation iPod I have installed many updates and I have yet to have an issue with any of them. I've also completed updates for people on Windows machines and again had no issues. -
I am afraid to download the new update software ios 6.1.6. Because everytime I let it put new software on, It makes my Ipod 4th generation mess up one way or another. Usually it makes the wifi go off and I cannot get it back on. Then I can't even use the ipod! I am having a problem now with it shuffling. Nope, though it did allow me to get some missing songs back onto my iPod. That's something. But neither "Back in Black" or "Dirty Deeds" show up anywhere on the Touch. Could this be because iTunes has no deal with AC/DC?
Quite frankly, at this point, I'd really rather not have the "ease of use" of iCloud attached to the iPod. It's not like I change my playlists that much. It would just be nice to get what I want onto my MP3 player. Not sure which one it was: iCloud, Music Match or the Air Port but the only real result of all the $ I plunked down is seeing all of my Wife's 231 Christmas songs popping up on my laptop. Really don't want them here. She SURE AS **** is sick of seeing all of my stuff on her computer.

Does anyone know how to enable editing on a new computer? I only have an 8gb phone and over 4gbs of music, half of which I don't even listen to anymore. I really want it off my phone, but when I plugged it into my new macbook nothing would delete. My old computer barely turns on so I can't even plug it into the old one to delete anything. I hit the sync button on the new computer and that didn't help either. I'd really like to upgrade to the new software but don't have the room on my phone until this music/a few apps are deleted. Any help would be appreciated!!
Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

I bought new i phone 5 3 days back, after that asked for new update which is 6.1.4, after updating my iphone i am not able to use cellular data services. I called up data provider, they says its the problem with new software update. There is no option add APN. Now when i switch to safari its showing you are not subscribed for cellular data. But I am able to use data on other phone.
Will you please help me in this regard?
