WYSIWYG HTML Entry for Portal

People,
We have a requirement for a WYSIWYG HTML entry "widget" to enter in html data into portal rather than using the basic text entry field where you have to mark up the text yourself in pure html.
Internet Explorer has a ActiveX control that can be accessed through JavaScript such that the data entry on screen is looks like an editor like FrontPage/DreamWeaver but underneath it stores the actual HTML code. I would like to use this editor instead of the built in basic HTML Form based textArea.
Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

If you research DHTML components and MSHTML components, you'll find the information regarding the built in object (no cost, no product -- custom coding required to build out the interface and any custom menu requirements needed.)

What I know is that you need to search for the menu bar icons to add to the content window. Some javascript required to bring it all together.
ActiveEdit from cfdev also has promise, it deploys a JSP based HTML edition (With Source Code). Integrating it with Oracle Portal 3.0.9.n release might prove challenging as the content api is only published for PLSQL implementation.

  • Urgent - HTML Layout for portal

    Hi,
I dunno if it's here that this questions belongs.
I'm new to OracleAS Portal and I would like to integrate a content build with Struts in a portal. I've just tested the Struts part outside the portal and everything is OK.
Now I would like to integrate it in a portal page, but the fact is, our customer has a predefined page style which is really not the default given by the OracleAS Portal.
I have the layout of our client in an HTML form and I would like to be able to use this layout as the page for the portal and not the one provided by OracleAS portal but I've checked and could find nowhere in the doc where it says that we could do such thing and if I can, how should I do it then?
    Thanks.
    D.

See answer in Template with portal thread.

  • Location of HTML/JSP for Portal Redirection

    Hello,
Currently, we have a URL for our Portal, consisting of http://localhost:50000/irj/portal.
When trying to launch the above URL, we would now like the user to be redirected to another URL, which will lead them to the same portal.
Where can we find the main HTML/JSP page which should contain the redirection command?
    Thanks in advance,
    Gil

    Hi Gil,
There is an index.html file in directory that Henk already mentioned: "/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<inst#>/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/"
This file is called automatically if you browse to <protocol>://<hostname>:<port>/irj
The only thing it does is replace your current url with the same url + /portal its a way to call the portal application.
You could do something with that... otherwise go for the solution Hank mentions by editing the web.xml.
A reverse proxy like apache or web dispatcher could also do the trick... as they somtimes say "there are many ways that lead to Rome"

  • How to Create HTML page from portal

    Hi
I have a requirement to create html pages from portal.
There will be an author who can choose document type as HTML
and then he will write html codes on saving it should be saved as HTML doc in UCM.
and publisher should be able to display it on portal(may be using content presenter).
please help me in this. I know there is rich text editor task flow which can save a doc as doc file.
and in spaces we have option of creating HTLM file but i don't know how to do it for my portal.
    Thanks

A better way would be to create the page using approach in this blog:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/ATEAM_WEBCENTER/entry/content_presenter_cmis_complete
That way the page can be edited inline and the html author need not upload html to ucm everytime.

  • WYSIWYG HTML editor extension or replacement

    Hi everybody,
We have a client that needs additional functionality in the WYSIWYG HTML editor in Oracle9iAS Release 2. Specifically the client needs to add pictures to an article/text in a simple browse and insert kinda way. It would be desirable to be able to choose from the users harddrive and pictures in a repository.
Is there any way to extend or replace the build-in the WYSIWYG HTML editor ??
    Any contributions are welcome ..
    Best regards
    Christian Ballisager, Denmark

    Hi
We have developed a WYSIWYG HTML editor to extend the functionality of Oracle Portal 3.0.9. The editor has the functions you ask for but today it only works in IE browser.

  • How do I create a new event entry for a specific calendar?

In my iMac Calendar app, I have created a few calendars for different functions.    But every time I try to create a new event entry for a specific calendar, the app seems to prefer a different calendar instead by default.   I cannot enter events in other calendars.   Is there a way to do this?   In previous versions, I would highlight the particular calendar I wanted to work with and the entry would go into that calendar.   Thanks!

You don't.  Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.
When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N.  Name it as desired.  It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.
Ask Apple for more sorting options in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

  • Help, need to change IP address on host database for Portal

    Hi folks,
Rather urgent assistance (as usual) needed. I have an installation working correctly on a pair of Win2k machines, one as the 9i database, one as the 9iAS/Portal. The app server has 2 NIC cards, one with public IP address (which is ok), one on the LAN. I need to reconfigure the LAN addresses on both the machines. Initial Portal install done without DNS, i.e. actual server/host addresses entered in the configuration.
I have tried changing all of the TNS/Listner settings and the NIC card IP addresses and restarting the machines. The likes of SQLPlus work ok, with the TNS connect name allowing over the LAN access into the database with the new LAN addresses. I cannot seem to get the 9iAS/Portal to find the repository with the new addresses.
Can someone help please? I can't find the answer in any documentation or other postings.
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

There are other modes of operation for the plasst as well. I am listing them below but the formatting will make it difficult to read. If you like I can email it to you.
    Bill G...
Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Infrastructure is changed
Run the following from the $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/opca dir
ptlasst.bat -mode SSOPARTNERCONFIG -i typical -sdad portal -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -silent -verbose
    NOTE:
    (1) This command would create a new Portal partner application in the SSO to reflect the changes of the Infrastructure. Before running this command please ensure to configure the SSO with the correct hostname by running the ssocfg.bat script located in the Infrastructure install (<infra_home>\sso\bin).
The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the infrastructure server and -port will be the port where the infrastructure http server is running on.
Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Middle tier is changed
    ptlasst.bat -mode MIDTIER -i typical -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -ldap_h myOID.domain.com -ldap_p 389 -ldap_w welcome -pwd secret123 -portal_only -oh /home/oracle -chost myHostname.domain.com -cport_i 8001 -cport_a 8000 -wc_i_pwd invalidator -mc false -mi true -silent -verbose
    NOTE :
    (1) The -host value should match the serverName value of the httpd.conf
    (2) The -chost should be updated with the correct webcache hostname. In a default iAS midtier install the -host is same as the -chost.
The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the midtier(portal) server and -port will be the port where the portal is running on.
    Parameter Description Default Value Mandatory
    -i install_type Installation Type
In the typical mode, the OPCA would get the Infrastructure information like the Portal schema name, Portal schema password, connect string to the Portal repository, SSO Partner application schema and password, SSO Password store schema and password and connect string to the SSO repository from the Repository Access API's.
In the custom mode, the OPCA would take whatever is passed as the command line arguments.

  • Sales Order Entry via Portal in R/3 4.7

    Hi,
is there an iView (out of a Business Package) available for Sales Order Entry via Portal in R/3 4.7 ?
Or do we need to develop this from scratch?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Erik

    Hi Erik,
The only one I found was in the Business package for Sales but it is listed for ERP2004 only.  I found another one in the Business Package for Retail 50.2 that was 4.7 compatible but it is shown as out of maintenance and I was unable to download it. I didn't try very hard to get the download to work.  You may want to take a look.
    Good Luck,

  • HTML document in portal

    Dear friends,
I got an issue like, my client need to put their HTML document into the portal, its around 300 files. So how to put htis html document into portal. Is it possible to put the html document or not, If not how to make appear HTML document in portal.
    Kindly help me
    Regards
    Suresh

    hi
first you need upload the html files int oKM content then you need  to create a iviews  based on this content present in KM content
step 1: uploading the html files
go to content administration->KMcontent->at the right hand side select the document folder->
here u create a new folder by selecting folder menu->new->folder
then your folder will be created under documents folder
doble click on this (now you under documents/your folder path)
    under you folder
    select folder menu->new->upload
give  name(ex new.html ),description, and select browse to upload the file
follow the same procedure for all the html files
this indicates the u have uploaded all the files properly
now creating a ivews based on the html documents uploaded in KM content
content administration->portal content->select your folder->right click ->new->iview->select KM document iview template->give iview name &id etc
then open the iview for editing
there u can find a property called " path to document" give the value as " \document\<your folder name where u uploaded the html files under KM content>\file name(ex:new.html>
like that u can create all the iviews based on the html documents stored under km content

  • Basic configuration in GRC 10 for portals

    Hi Gurus,
Could you please tell me the basic configuration details in GRC 10 for portals.
    Thanks,
    Mukesh

    Hi Mukesh,
    You can refer to https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/sno/ui_entry/entry.htm?param=69765F6D6F64653D3030312669765F7361…
However there is no such guide on Portal integration with GRC, you might need to follow below steps:
1- Create one HTTP type RFC connection between GRC and Portal system.
2- Create System Alias in portal system for GRC system
3- Deploy the GRC Portal content in Portal system
5-Portal content comes with 5 work-sets and one security role. You can assign the portal role that comes with the Portal content to user in Portal and also GRC roles to the same user in GRC system.
    Hope this helps.

    Ameet

  • Single file custom logging for portal service in 7.31

    Hello Experts,
    I have a portal service.
The service writes sensitive data to the DB and therefore I need tracing mechanism.
Until now I've used a custom txt file but now I want to use the SAP J2EE logging infrastructure (for performance, identifying user sessions etc...)
Since the severity of the messages will be set to 'info' I don't want to write the log entries to 'defaultTrace.trc', I want to write it to a custom file.
I'm aware of 'ForceSingleTraceFile' parameter but where can I set the logging properties? (in older portals I could use logger.xml in my portal component project and set a custom log file but as far as I understand 'logger.xml' is not supported anymore and its parameters are ignored).
Where can I find the documentation for setting logging properties for portal service in 7.31?
    J2EE/Portal version is 7.31 SP7.
    Regards,
    Omri

  • Changing HTML templates for Standard SRM screens!!!!!

    Hello SRM gurus,
I have to modify the standard SRM PO screen. I have modified the screen and added the requirement tracking number field but on activation it gives me message to adapt the HTML template manually.
How to change HTML template assigned to the screen? Also what more needs to be done for the field to appear on the SRM portal?
I am not aware even of the transaction code to be used.
Your help will highly be appreciated and rewarded.
    Regards,
    Shrikant Gavali.

    Hi,
You need not chnage the Standard SRM screen nor the HTML template  to add a custom field in the PO sceen.
    Please check these notes:
    672960 - user-defined fields.pdf
    676016 - user-defined fields.pdf
There is an additional note for req tracking no not available in SC but in your case you want the field in PO so wont be relevant.
Note 676016 - SRM: Requirement Tracking Number not available
Also refre this weblog for adding custom fields in the std SRM screens:
    /people/nanda.kondagunta/blog/2006/10/23/how-to-create-custom-fields-in-srm
The tcode for PO is BBP_POC.If you ever need to  modify the HTML template for this screen/trascn,goto SE80.select Internet service as BBP_POC.There you can see all the HTNL templates and each of which corresponds to some screen in the trascn BBP_POC(PO trascn).

  • Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 Could not create MAR entry for file

    Hi
i am using jdev 11.1.1.4.i checkout code from svn to jdeveloper .
i tried to create EAR file for the application, but while creating EAR jdeveloper throwing some error message as shown below
    find similar thread
    JDeveloper Debugger Hangs
Could not create MAR entry for file [D:\JDeveloper\mywork\myAPortalApp\Portal\adfmsrc\oracle\webcenter\portalapp\pagetemplates\.svn\text-base\pageTemplate_swooshyPageDef.xml.svn-base], due to: MDS-01161: Reference "/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pagetemplates/.svn/text-base/pageTemplate_swooshyPageDef.xml.svn-base" has an invalid character ".".
from the above message ,due to svn in the output folder ,jdeveloper is not able create MAR file entry .
i checked application properties for filter options ,jdeveloper has already has the filter "Exclude /.svn/"
can any one help me on this?
    appreciate your help

Hi Aaron thanx for the reply.
i did not understand exporting from the subversion, but i did search in file for the svn there are two entires for .svn in portal.jpr file.
if i delete subversion connection from the jdeveloper and if i compile then it will create EAR file.
