X-Fi Elite Pro, Megaworks 510 and Vi

I have just clean installed Vista Ultimate 32 bit on my new computer with an X-Fi Elite pro. I am trying to connect to my Megaworks 50 system via the orange digital cable from the flexi jack on the card. THis is the cable that looks like a headphone jack on each end. Anyway...no sound. I have the playback device set to SPDIF Out. If I change the playback device to Speakers and plug in my headphones I do get sound. The digital cable worked with my previous Soundblaster card and these speakers. Any ideas??Thanks,John

Just had the same problem , and got i resolved by going into my startup tab`s on Windows XP.
Foregive me for explaning in English here , i`m sitting on a totally different language ,,,but i`ll give it a try.
Go to ..:START /RUN/...then type in..."msconfig" ..without quotes...hit ENTER ...go to the START TAB and check that
DDLML.exe*RCSystem* is checked on you startup tabs.
This task is the actual module loader for the remote to function , and if you dont know how to start it manually
right away , just reboot your PC and you should be good to go.

X-fi Elite pro DIN out and Creative speak

hello,
I have the elite pro and megaworks 550 speakers, I have tried to connect the DIN cable from the I/o console to my sub instead of the original speakers remote control. but it is not work..it's won't turn my speakers on.
Is someone succeed to do that? maybe with another speakers? someone know how to fix it's

Some 8 months later people like me are still falling into this same trap.
The External console is NOT compatible with the Megaworks & Gigaworks speakers (even the 7. versions) or so I am told by Customer Support after 6 weeks of working through the issues.
Why Creative would design this incompatability into there premier products is beyound me

X-FI Elite Pro Din connector and compatible speakers

Hi all?I?m a?owner of an X-FI Elite Pro. Amazing 55 million transistor sound?From what I can read here in the forums, I can control selected Creative speakers with the?9 pin Din cable. I?m aware of the 3 spdif signals incompatibility with this connector.
Now I?m confused some say it works others say it doesn?t work..... Which speakers are supported ? Models ? Most of them have the wired remote or control pod. Nor in the speaker manuals nor in the Elite pro manual are the compatible models listed?I want power ... so I?m interested in the Gigaworks series like the S750. Anyone tested the combination ??

Well since nobody answered today I have hooked up the Logitch Z500 Digital and the sound is just amazing. I was moving to 7. but there isn?t much offer from Creative.... and 5. is still the standard. It?s a shame that on such a quality card there are only crappy Creative 20 watt speakers for sale.

Elite Pro Remote Control and

Hi there!
First of all: I already searched the forums, but was not able to find what i was looking for.
As I got back to my XP after using Vista I recognized that there is no "Creative Enterteinment Center" for XP, which was necessary for the usage of the remote control under Vista.
So... what now?

Honestly I can not believe that there is no way to solve this problem.
I am sure that there is somebody out there that uses the Elite Pro with XP who's RC works fine.
I already tried to install that MediaSource-Program, but I have not found any options to activate the RC.
In the meantime I found out, that there has to be a RCMAN.EXE running, which is responsible for the RC.
But now after I have installed everything I could, I ask myself where the heck that task is. Which program runs that task?

X-fi elite pro working slowly and getting st

Well, I just bought this one, pretty amazing, but it seems very unstable, everytime I try to change modes it locks out the buttons on the console, doesn't change mode, and doesn't let me back into Volume Panel...any words of advice please?

Anyone? now I've also lost the front center speaker! I have a creative 5. speaker system, I'm watching a Li've show DVD, and the front center speaker isn't being used, but when I test it on Diagnostics, it's working...also, sometimes when I try to load up the Volume Panel or any other app, nothing happens, and I have to close the process from the Task Manager...what the hell is going on? I think I'm almost ready to return this...please any help would be very appreciated.
Some more details - I'm using PowerDVD, got the latest drivers obviously, and well I guess that's all I can think of right now.

X-Fi elite pro, suround sound not working correc

I have a strange problem with my suround sound. I have an X-Fi elite pro sound card and 5. Z-5500 logitech speakers. Everything seems ok except my rear right speaker doesnt pick up the suround sound portion of the sound. When I play music it has sound but when testing for the suround sound that speaker gets nothing. Games are strange, the ambient sounds that are on all speakers at once work fine but when rotating around it clearly is missing the sound effects in that quadrant. I put my audigy 2 back in and everything worked ok so I know its not my speakers.
Is my soundcard defecti've or is there some setting I need to adjust?

It seems that you've bumped an old thread... So, did the original poster ever find a solution? I have an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum right now and can't that to work. I ordered an X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatality Pro, which if all works well I'll hook up to my current dri'vebay. I've heard there's no reason why it shouldn't... other than the fact that I'm running Vista of course, which doesn't have any remote functionality that I know of.

X-Fi Elite Pro: onboard SPDIF In

till yesterday I used an audigy player card in my PC. I use stereo speaker as output in combination with a headset including a micro. On the onboard SPDIF input connector on the audigy board are a SAT-Card from TechnoTrend connected. I use the SPDIF connection for the sound from the SAT-Card because the quality is much better then as an analog connection between SAT- and Sound-Card. This works pretty fine.
Now I have installed my new X-Fi Elite Pro. I connect my speaker and headset/micro like before. This works fine. But I found no possibility to connect my SAT-Card directly via SPDIF to the X-Fi Elite Pro. There is only a connector for an analog input on the board from the X-Fi Elite Pro. How need this?
If there a possibility to connect the cards directly like before with the audigy? Or I have to go with an cable from the internal SAT-Card outside to the PC an then to the I/O Console to bring the SPDIF signal return in the PC to the X-Fi Elite Pro? I don?t know if this possible but the idea looks a little bit ?stupid? or complicate.
I hope there is somewhere on the board from the X-Fi Elite Pro the possibility to connect the SPDIF signal.

There is on connecter on the board that looks like for a front panel for micro a headsets. But nothing likes SPDIF Input.

Elite Pro and vista, creative console resets after ever reb

So, I've given up trying to search for the answer and I have no clue how to go about fixing this problem.
If I boot into visata 32 Ultimate, and go and setup my audio console the way I like it then reboot, it will reset itself to defaults when I boot back into windows.
basically its not saving my configuration. Why does this happen and how can I fix this? It doesn't sound the same as the Digital output resetting itself. I have the latest drivers installed on a clean slate...why does this still happen?

yep , i see they are supported, the same is mentioned on the drivers download page,
it states that DTS has been re enabled on devices that supported it on XP when they were originally released.
so i have the elite pro, wich supported dd and dts, and still i get no sound form any dvd in dts or even sound from my PS3 input via optical to the external I/0 of the elite pro.
and i have been told that i would need to buy the dts pack.
why ? when i already paid ?250 for the card that supported it from the moment i bought it ?
dts input support was one of the reasons i bought this card in the first place.
i might as well sell this and use my onboard optical output and buy an amplifier that supports dts, at least then ill know that there are no drivers/support problems
?creative you might make the best sound cards out there but that alone only gets you half way there. us customers we need support and value for our money?

5.1 sound X-Fi elite pro and DTT3

Hi all?Ok, so I have an X-Fi Elite Pro, and the DTT3500 speaker setup from Creative. Both very expensi've where I li've. I could get 5. sound from my SB Li've! 5. digital, but no such luck on the X-FI. I've read all the posts, but when speaking to Creative tech support they tell a different story. I know I can get 5. (supposedly) from DVD etc. via co-ax or optical. How do I get 5. from other apps (such as VideoStudio) or games (BF242, etc.) that do not output DD or DTS?I've tried flexi jack to DIN (from card rear panel to the speaker amp), DIN to DIN (from break-out box to speaker amp) and 3 x 3.5mm stereo to DIN (from card rear panel to speaker amp) Nothing works. I get headphone sound obviously, and can get plain stereo sound (although I didn't get this setting right for optical; works with co-ax though)?(excerpt from tech support mail)

I have never installed the updated applications available in the download page... just applications and driver for Vista 64bit inside the cd and i updated the driver with the latest one. Anyway, I: Reformatted and installed Vista.
Installed Chipset Drivers.
Installed Video Drivers.
Downloaded and installed JUST the latest SB drivers and i have that **bleep**-ing error window...Guys, it's 2 years i try to install Vista...Have i to destroy this sound card If i have to change it, i'll never buy another creative product in all my life (and till today i have bought 3 sound cards, 2 webcam, 4., 5. and 2. speakers for every computer we have in the office...). Own an X-FI Elite Pro - Getting what sounds like a CD skipping and some distortion

Interesting I have had this card for some time now...and I never experienced any kind of distortion...popping...click noises...or anything that the majority of people here have been complaining about. I though I was one of the lucky few...that has all changed.
I started playing some BF2 the other day...and of course have the in game audio settings set to ULTRA to and X-FI to make use of my XFI 64 megs of RAM...anyways, this is the same setting I have had in BF2 since I've owned the game and have had my XFI - Elite Pro.
Anways, there I am playing my game when all of a sudden from time to time I hear what sounds like an audio CD skipping! I thought at first it was just me or the game...but no...it seems to happen more often than it use to! Like its getting wores! It cleary sounds like an Audio CD skipping!
another thing I started to notice is when playing MP3s and such.... I can hear distortion in the background! Its a bit hard to explain but what it sounds like the distortion isn't in the actual audio mix...almost like background distortion!
to test I would play the same audio track on my home theatre system and to my dismay... I heard no distortion...so that would label my XFI Elite Pro as the problem.
a couple of things to note:
st.. I have 2 fans hooked up on the same rail on my PSU that connects to the XFI Elite Pro. The fans have fan controlers as well... I haven't tried this...but its possible that since the fans are hooked up to the same wire as my XFI is...its possible I may be getting some electrical interference with them.
2nd... I just updated to the latest BETA drivers released by Creative. This is where I first started to notice the problem.
I have yet to dry difference drivers or remove the fans...however, I do believe I am finally experiencing what many other have been since there purchase.
I paid a **bleep** pretty penny for my Elite Pro and deffinitly EXPECT it run PERFECT!
deffinitly unhappy thus far.
I do have an Nforce based chipset. As well as an ASUS A8N32-SLI with the most recent BIOS update.
Like I said before, I am just now getting this sounds...its possible it could be the BETA drivers, I will keep you all posted.
For the mean time, anyone have any insight or opinions for me?

Help connect X-fi Elite Pro with DDTS-100 and Gigaworks s750

I purchased a brand new Gigaworks s750 speakers system, DDTS-100 decoder and X-fi Elite Pro. I connected the DDTS-100 and Elite Pro using Optical Fibre output from the audio console of X-fi Elite Pro to the optical digital input of DDTS-100. With the cables supplied with s750, I connected it to the Decoder DDTS-100. The problem is I am not getting any sound from the rear speakers and the front speakers. Only the centre speakers and the side speakers are producing sound. I could hear loud hissing sound and very very low volume of the music from the front speakers and no sound from the rear speakers. I can hear good quality sound from the centre speakers and average quality sound from the side speakers. What could possibly have gone wrong with my setup ? Somebody please help me. Thanq for your response. But unlike what you have mentioned, ("what may be happining is the soundcard is decoding the signal and then the ddts is trying to decode it with disatrous results"), In my setup the signal is not getting decoded two times, once by Soundcard and once by the DDTS-100. As I have mentioned that I am taking out an Optical Signal from the sound card to the DDTS-100, the signal comming out from the sound card to the DDTS is Encoded signal only. So there doesnt arise a chance that the signal is getting decoded twice. Can you think of any other reason why my setup is not working? Please let me know.

TV/ SKY Digital Sound Through MY X-FI Elite Pro and Gigaworks s

Hi i am trying to find out if i can get sound from my tv/sky digibox to pass through my gigaworks s750's.
I have just got hold of a new Sony Widescreen TV and a sky digibox both seem to to have audio out right and left on the back of them. On the computer side of things i have a X-FI Elite Pro and the Gigaworks S750's.
Im not sure about all of this so was hoping somebody in here could help.
Any Help on what i need to do or buy would be great

Hey man, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I started messing around with the Phono 2 dials on the unit and was having no luck what so ever. I then wanted to try my microphone to make sure that it was still working from all the changes I had made. Well, when I hit the record button and talked into my mic it showed something being recorded, so I knew my mic was still working... But.... when I played the recording, It was the recording from the T.V.!!! At this point I knew I was close to getting this issue solved.

I ended up having to open my "Sounds & Audio" controller within the Windows XP Control Panel and then going to the volume section of the XF-I card and then going to file, properties, and then check the "Phono 2" port off so that I could see it listed with all of my other volume and sounds controls. I then un-muted it as you said and Bam!!!!!!! Guitar Hero on my PS2 was pumping out at my full 500W!!!! I nearly went death from the experience, but it was very gratifying!!!

Thanks for your post. It really helped to point me in the right direction. I'm now thinking of digitizing all my vinal records now into MP3's too! Thanks again man, you?re the bomb!

X-Fi Elite Pro and Radeon 5870

Hello, I've just added Radeon 5870 to my system. I observed some strange behaviour of my X-Fi Elite Pro since then.
Sometimes, when the sound goes really deep it sounds distorted. It never happened before neither with Radeon 3870 nor 4870.
Did you encounter this problem too? I'm thinking about ATI drivers, since they are in the eraly stage.
Every help is appreciated.

The software is named as MediaSource Audio Converter. It comes w/ the MediaSource package which can be found at support/downloads too.
BTW, XtremeAudio is not based on same hardware that those othed X-Fi (PCI) models are so, if you have Li've! 24-bit/Audigy SE/Value or any Audigy 2/4 card there already then you perhaps don't get any other advantage but those couple of bundled additional software only (as like the Chrystalizer).
You can rip CDs and record audio directly to mp3 format by simply using MediaSource Player ... I don't know if there are support for edit VOB or DAT format files (least creative wavestudio 5.0 didn't support) but, supposeingly, there are 3rd party software for this task available.

Hi... Please help me. I have an X-Fi Elite Pro and I am experiencing a very strange problem in Vista 32. Before using Vista, I had no problems at all in XP. Sometimes when I listen to the music (Winamp) and then after listening the music start watching movie, the sound dissappears. I mean the EQ of Winamp freezes and there is no sound at all
!!! Only if I switch audio-console (in Configuration menu) to Games mode (or an other one) and back, the sound comes back... Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. It is very strange. Please, do you know a solution for that?!

In no way a 300W Power Supply has enough power for all your stuff.
2 HDD's, a power-hungry Pentium, a xfi card, dvd burner and many other stuff ...
Problems like this can happen then if your power supply has not enough power to handle all this stuff.
Get a better powersupply that can handle your stuff and I am sure it will work again. In a few cases its also possible that YOU damage your hardware on this way, if it can not get enough stable power, it might mess up your hardware. I also already blowed up a harddisk one day because I have connected too much stuff to one cable. I had 3 HDD's, Mainboard, Lights, Fans and DVD connected to one single cable. All devices there did not get enough power, harddisks made crazy sounds (on/off/on/off very fast) and after that one of my HDDs was bad.
But no ... you can't blame anyone for this. In 99% a bad power supply should not damagae your hardware, it will just make sure it does not work anymore. Since you installed that hardware, YOU are responsible for this. If a hardware-dealer would have to install this card for you, it would be his fault, but now its yours.
BTW: Why do you expect that a 300W suppy is enough!? I mean really ... think about it! See what todays PS can do, take a look how much your pentium already needs ... There are at least 00W gone for your CPU, another 00 for your Videocard and just 00 left for ALLLL the other devices like your harddisks (20-30W each one), DVD, mainboard, soundcard ... In no way this will be enough. You must have missed the last 5 years ...
BTW: I don't think that the software audio console would not work when not having connected the y-power cable. I forget that cable too one time. My console did still work, just in games I got some strange problems a lot of times (no more sound for -2 minutes, crackling and other poroblems) which got solved after I plugged in the power-cable to soundcard.Message Edited by Homey-GER on 0-7-200705:42 AM
