X Pro Vonage and Audio issue

Just yesterday, I downloaded X Pro Vonage to use with my Mac Book Pro.  Install went fine, recognizes my new Vonage line.  However, when use the tuning wizard correctly, the X Pro cant find my speakers/mic.  Any help??

  • Video and Audio Issues

I am having troubles with playing videos and audio on my macbook pro. When attempting to play videos, the video generally stops playing after 2-3 seconds. The audio starts out choppy and eventually doesn't work at all. This issue persists on all browsers (safari, chrome, firefox), with both flash and HTML5 players. HTML5 players generally seem like they are fast forwarding for 5 seconds then stop. I have tried re-installing flash player and clearing the cache, but that does not fix the issue. I have also logged into a guest account and the issue still persists. Any advice on how to fix this would be welcomed, thank you.

  • MacBook Pro Health and safety issue: Potential Burn during normal use

    Hi,
I am not a complainer. I worked for Apple of 6+ years and have had a top of the line Apple Notebook since Apple created the concept of the laptop notebook.
I recently experienced a 3rd degree burn using my MacBook Pro that I think Apple needs to warn folks about:
    MacBook Pro 17"
    Machine Model: MacBookPro1,2
    CPU Type: Intel Core Duo
    Number Of Cores: 2
    CPU Speed: 2.16 GHz
    L2 Cache (shared): 2 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP12.0061.B00
    Serial Number: ()
    SMC Version: 1.5f10
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled
I had my laptop on my lap. I was wearing shorts. It noticed that it was warm on my leg where the left side of the MacBook Pro was touching my leg, but it didn't create a reflex pain response.
Upon completing my session, when I closed the machine and put it away, I noticed a 1 inch x .75 inch blister on my leg where it had been touching the MacBook/Pro; and it has turn out to be a significant burn.
I checked all the documentaiton that came with my MacBook Pro and there was no warning about the potential of this situation.
I recommend that Apple let owners know, perhaps through an email or a popup when they visit the Apple site. Lastly, when I encountered this issue, I wasn't running any high performance, compute bound applications. It was email. So, I have to believe that it is possible to detect wait states within the processes running and take the processors to a low power mode of operation when they are not performing actual work. Am I out in left field here?
I want Apple to be successful. I haven't heard of a similar complaint on any of the high performance PC's at work. Beyond a Health and Safety issue, this is also a reputation issue. Better to face into the storm and honestly deal with this issue.

MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.5) Potential Health and Safety Issue- 3rd degreee burn potential under normal use

Mike... I do sympathize with your situation but let me correct you:
I recently experienced a 3rd degree burn using my
    MacBook Pro
Do you know what a 3rd degree burn is? A 3rd degree burn involves the dermis, and is full thickness involving the subcutaneous tissues and fat underneath your skin layers. This is something that usually happens when man meets fire, electrocution, and chemical burns. A 3rd degree burn is not typically achieved by a simple transfer of energy by conduction, unless extreme heat for an extended period of time.
I had my laptop on my lap. I was wearing shorts. It
noticed that it was warm on my leg where the left
side of the MacBook Pro was touching my leg, but it
didn't create a reflex pain response.
Reflex pain response? Don't try to make up medical terminology. You didn't feel it much like you don't feel the sun when you get a sunburn initially... your skin slowly adjusted to the temperature, and at some point the heat increased over the threshold of which causes damage. You should have gone to the doctor if you were overly concerned.
Upon completing my session, when I closed the machine
    and put it away, I noticed a 1 inch x .75 inch
blister on my leg where it had been touching the
MacBook/Pro; and it has turn out to be a significant
    burn.
You're right, if you have a 1inch by almost 1 inch heat related blister on your leg, it is bad, nothing that I would consider significant. That is less then 1% of your body, probably about 0.25% to 0.5%, and only a 2nd degree burn. Your most significant complication would be a local skin infection.
I checked all the documentaiton that came with my
MacBook Pro and there was no warning about the
    potential of this situation.
Actually... I'd hate to call you a liar, but I'm pretty sure that it does warn about burns.
To confirm this, apple has also information online:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30612
I recommend that Apple let owners know, perhaps
through an email or a popup when they visit the Apple
    site.
    They do... link above.
Lastly, when I encountered this issue, I wasn't
running any high performance, compute bound
applications. It was email. So, I have to believe
that it is possible to detect wait states within the
processes running and take the processors to a low
power mode of operation when they are not performing
actual work. Am I out in left field here?
No, you're definitely not. Here's where I start to agree with you. For the computer to heat up that much, when not doing things like rendering video is abnormal, and you deserve to have apple check out your computer. I think you should contact them on this concern.
I want Apple to be successful. I haven't heard of a
similar complaint on any of the high performance PC's
at work. Beyond a Health and Safety issue, this is
also a reputation issue. Better to face into the
storm and honestly deal with this issue.
It's harder for other manufacturers... our computers are aluminum, designed to disperse the heat. Technically they are considered "portables" not laptops, but I don't get into that argument because I disagree with the word "portable"... it's meant to work on your lap, and if you can't comfortably using regular apps, you deserve an answer.
A slightly crisp, but loyal, MacBook Pro user.
Hey, at least you're taking it with some humor. It's a shame you had to get hurt as a result of your computer. If I were you I would have gone to your Primary Care Physician, documented the burn, and returned your computer for a new one, and for something say, a free iPod for your pain.
Sorry you got hurt, I think you should have your heat issue professionally investigated through apple care

  • Mac Quad Pro Rosetta and Activation issues.

I recently purchased a Mac Quad Pro (Xeon) and migrated everything over to the Leopard boot partition did all the usual repair permissions etc. Most stuff seems to work okay, but I do have a couple issues with CS3
    Photoshop will not run under Rosetta (need it for a couple plugins that are not Leopard compatible). Although the check box in Get Info is available, I get a dialog saying no can do...contact my IT person. (I am the IT person around here.}
Okay, I coned my Leopard partition to another internal hard drive and forgot to deactivate CS3 before the cloning. So booted from the cloned backup, ran PS and ran "Help - Deactivate". I got a message saying that I needed to activate the program within 5 days! Huh? PS was active when I did the clone so I don't understand why there is a time limit on what should be an active copy and why Adobe thinks it's an inactive version. I did activate that version then immediately deactivated it.

  • Captivate 7 and Audio Issues

Hi, I have been having with audio files in Captivate 7 when changing audio files for a specific slide. If I use the F6 functionality, sometimes the new audio file will be attached, sometimes it won't, and sometimes I will hear both audio files.
If I go into the library and remove all the audio files without first removing from the individual slides, sometimes the audio file will play on the slide when published. I cannot remove the audio file because I can see it in the library or on the film strip.
If I first remove the audio files from the slide, then remove the audio file from the library the file is definitely removed from the project.
Is this a bug in Captivate 7? Is there another way to ensure that the audio files have been updated without jumping through hoops. I've had a few projects I've had to recreate because of the audio issues.
    thanks,

    Welcome, Bob,
Each powerpoint slide will be converted in a mini video. You will have to make a parallel PPT, where you change the click animations to timed animations if you want the user in the CP-file to have to click only once.
Another approach would be to use Adobe Presenter, and the user could then click to advance on each animation.

  • Logic Pro X and Yosemite issues

It seems I have some very basic issues with Logic Pro X 10.0.7 after upgrading to Yosemite OS on my MacBook Air:
    1. Zooming the main window by swiping two fingers apart or together on the mouse pad does not work anymore.
    2. Adjusting the length of audio regions in the main window does not work anymore. It works as usual on midi tracks, but when I hover the end of an audio region the brackets just do not appear. I have now used automation to silence the bit that I wanted to shorten, but that is more of a hassle.
I have tried restarting Logic Pro X, restarting the MacBook and looked for any settings that may have been changed, but to no avail.
Do these issues sound familiar to anyone? Any thought on how to fix?

    1) Zooming
the zooming with the swipe gesture was always problematic, but it is now only happening in the Audio FIles Editor and to some extend in the Score Editor. All the other windows work fine on my machine.
    2) Resize Tool
Works fine without a problem in the Main Window and the Editor windows. Of course, you can resize in the Audio FIles Editor.
    Hope that helps

  • Final cut studio 3 and my mac pro major and unnecessary issues

just a heads up, sorry for my grammar, I have been using final cut pro since it was 3.0 on my old g4 upgraded to every version since. ive edited on final cut pro ruffly 40 hours+ per week since. now i just upgraded to final cut studio 3 about 2 weeks ago and ive been having major issues with speed and freezing and rendering and the new sharing features and motion and everything.
    lets start from the beginning.
i have a mac pro 1,1 with dual core intel xeon 2.66 ghz
    7 gb of ram
osx 10.5.8 (cant upgrade to snow leopard just yet due to sxs problems and heard its even slower)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT (thinking may be the culprit)
i have 2 monitors one 22" and my main 24" running both through a dvi cable
now the first hour i started working the computer froze up completely, mouse frozen and everything
(never happened before) after a day of unexpected quits and constant restarts i disconnected my second monitor.
im still having the speed problems sometimes even seeing scrambled images for icons on my os dock. i dont know what to do. ill leave something to render over night, wake up and check on it and the program quit. again. i have a deadline on a video coming very quick, and ive been searching this issue on all the discussion boards here and creative cow and haven't seen an answer yet. spoke to customer support early in the issue and tried everything they said ie: new user, different drive, yada yada yada. the only thing i havent done is reinstall osx and flush my whole computer. im definatly not prepared to do so and then still have the problem. anyway. if anyone can get through this runon of a post please please help im despreate. let me know if you need anymore info and ill be glad to provide it, and if anyone that helps lives in the ny area i would be honored to buy you a drink in return for your support.
    thanks for your time.

HOW did you upgrade? Install FCS 3 on top of FCS 2? That is not the best way to do it. Plus some of the issues you are having seem like OS issues. The best thing to do is the "scorched Earth" approach. Fresh install of the OS and fresh install of FCS 3. Always when upgrading this is the best method. And the make sure that you can go back if things don't work is to get a NEW hard drive, install the OS and FCS3 on that, and keep the old drive. Or clone your hard drive (carbon copy cloner), then erase and install. Or at least clone your drive before you update what you have (which is not the best way).
Too late now, I know, but file that away for the future. Now you should backup all your data, then erase and install Leopard again, then install your Apps. This will take a day, maybe a day and a half, and then you will be up and running. Better than trying to stuggle for days or weeks with a staggering OS.

  • MacBook Pro Startup and Display Issues

I've been having some random problems with my MacBook Pro (2.16 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 100 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, ATI Radeon X1600 graphics). Specifically:
    1. Lines across the screen and purple boxes sometimes appear.
    2. The graphic effects (e.g. zooming a window) sometimes get "frozen" on the screen. In other words a remnant from the animation will stay until the window is refreshed.
    3. The Mac sometimes freezes during the startup process. Sometimes the login screen will be unresponsive and other times the Mac will almost bootup but fail when loading startup items.
    4. Less frequently the Mac will freeze randomly. I previously had iStat Menus installed and each time the MacBook Pro froze up it indicated both read and write disk activities.
Yesterday I decided to wipe the machine clean and start from scratch in case there were a software issue or corruption on the hard drive that was causing my woes. I completely erased my hard drive and even zeroed the entire disk to make sure everything was completely wiped out. I also disconnected all peripherals to simplify things as much as possible.
The first time I tried the reinstall everything completed successfully but the "Welcome" movie froze part way through. I then had problems running the install again. I was able to boot off the Leopard DVD, but the machine froze a couple of clicks into the install procedure. After numerous tries I was able to erase the hard drive once again and install Leopard. This completed successfully and I installed all updates.
The problems started to show up again almost immediately, however. I installed iLife and iWork and all the updates and had the computer freeze up on me again during a reboot. I also noticed that the display issues started to show up again even before installing any third-party software.
I've tried running disk tests with Drive Genius 2.1, but no errors have been reported. I've also used the freeware Rember program to run memory tests but have yet to see any errors. Sometimes my Mac powers up without any problems and once it's powered up it often stays running for days. The display issues appear quite frequently. I've using iStat Menus to keep an eye on the temperature sensors and everything appears to be normal - so it doesn't appear to be temperature related.
Fortunately the computer's still covered under the extended AppleCare warranty, but I would like to have some idea what's going on before I take it in just in case they're not able to reproduce the issues.
Any suggestions and insights would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading my rather long-winded message.
    Cheers,
    Tim

I took my MacBook Pro in for repair and it turned out to be an issue with the logic board. I had the logic board replaced (fortunately it was covered under my extended AppleCare warranty) and these problems are a thing of the past.

  • Upgraded to pro X and having issues with form created in pro 9

I created a form in LiveCyle using Pro 9, the form was created for an employer who had to buy Pro X so I was upgraded to Pro X.  Here are the issues I am having, This form was the first time I have ever created a form and I have never used Java Script so there is no scripting involved.
    1) With Pro 9, if I opend the form with adobe instead of LiveCycle I could delete pages.  Now with Pro X I can not however I can delete pages in PDF's that I did not use LiveCycle on.  How do I enable exert, delete, insert, etc....
    2) I was told that with Pro X it was possible to set the form so that when it's emailed back to the employer after being filled out, it could be secure.  I have not been able to figure out how to set that up.  The employer needs to receive the completed PDF as a PDF with the information that was input secure (socials, etc... ).  If I set up an email button the employer receives a list for information and that does not work for them.
    3) The employer would like to have a few fields that they input in the form then secure them or make them read only so the employee can not modify.  I know how to do it design mode but it prevents them from being able to input the information they want (employee number for example).
Java Script is totally foreign to me as I am not an IT person I am a novice computer user that is self taught.  If I am going to have to learn this, can anyone suggest a website or book for beginners?
Thank you for any help you can provide....
    Heather

    Hi Heather,
There are a few things going on.
Firstly, forms that are created in LC Designer are fundementally different to native PDF documents. LC Designer forms are known as XFA Forms and are placed in a PDF wrapper, so that they can be opened in Acrobat/Reader. However a lot of the normally editing options (like deleting pages) that you can perform on a native PDF, you cannot do on an XFA Form.
You can set up the form to be emailed back and there are a number of options. The example here (http://assure.ly/dYQFb4 and http://assure.ly/hM2A5y) looks at the standard Submot by Email button down to custom buttons, depending on the functionality you need/want.
One of the things you need to bear in mind is that for users with Reader to be ble to submit the form back as a PDF, it first needs to be Reader Enabled. This is something you can do in Acrobat before you send out the form, but there are license restrictions. See here . http://assure.ly/etkFNU.
You can set up a solution that locks the fields in the form, prior to submission, but you are getting into scripting. There is an example here: http://assure.ly/yDtfsM.
When it comes to resources... see my recommendations here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4186925#4186925.
    I hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Macbook Pro wifi and application issues, everything slow

    Hey guys,
So my macbook pro has been giving me a lot of issues lately. It doesn't appear to be one particular problem and it's spread out across applications. Here's my situation:
The wifi connection in my dorm room wont work all of a sudden. It's the schools wifi, so I can't mess with. But my roommate, who also has a macbook pro, is having no problems at all. So I think it's just my computer. It SAYS I'm connected to the internet and has full connection, but it doesn't go through.
Here's the weird thing... I CAN connect to any other wifi on campus just fine. And all ethernet ports work fine.
I'm also having trouble with a variety of applications. My Twitter app, mail wont load anything, Itunes store is slow or doesn't work, the App store wont open, Celtx.....
I think it's all programs that require some sort of internet connection to function. And it's really strange how all these applications still don't work right even when I DO have internet connection (through ethernet or other wifi).
Few notes: I've tried reseting the permissions, and I have 40GB free on my harddrive. It's been happening for a week now, and I've tried rebooting many times. I did a large software update right before it started happening, but I'm not sure if they are related.
What do you think? Is this something I can fix on my own? Or is something damaged on my computer?
    HELP!

Alright, Gryphonator, looks like you're being hijacked. Try the following:
    1) Go to this webpage and download the latest stable version of Opera (in case you don't know, it's a Web browser, and if you don't like it, you can ditch it whenever you want); save it to your Desktop
    2) Reboot your Mac in Safe Mode by keeping the Shift key down on startup until you get the Apple grey backdrop AND a progress bar. Once this shows onscreen, you can lift your finger from the Shift key
    3) Once in Safe Mode, you are not connected to the Internet (unplug your Ethernet cable before you do anything), and only the basic OS X kernel extensions are running, so try and install Opera on your regular user account
    4) Plug your Ethernet cable and try to connect to the Internet (you should be able to)
    5) Unplug the Ethernet cable, and reboot normally
    6) Once your Mac is up and running, try browsing the Web with Opera
    7) Let us know of your progress (or lack thereof...)
The point of installing/using Opera is that it doesn't yet exist on your system, so it can't have corrupt plist preferences files and the like. Installing it in Safe Mode will prevent whatever is playing with your Internet connection from wreaking havoc with install.
Finally, for all its flaws, Opera is probably the safest Web browser there is. I've never been hijacked once in all the years I've used it, even when using Windows as my primary OS (see, you CAN turn to the Dark Side of the Force and come back!)
    Keep us posted!

  • Video and Audio issue with cam

Lately my webcam video has not been able to be viewed on the software provided, it has just turned up as a green striped screen, the video show up perfectly when i play with windows media player and other video/music players, but the audio get screwed up, it will start out fine for the first two seconds then it will get very deep and distorted. And solutions?

It is not easy to help with this. I mean if you already had contact with service they should be able to test it and repair. I really don't know which kind of advice we can offer here.
Problem is that we don't know if this is hardware related issue or not.
I have NB520 with my own preinstalled Win7 Home premium and everything works perfectly.
Do you use original preinstalled Win7 starter version?
Have you noticed this strange sound issue when you just listen music (online radio) without watching video?

  • Creating Buttons and Audio issues in DVDSP3

Ok, here is what I want to do:
I just want to create a simple DVD of my commercial reel. When the DVD is put in I want music to play. Then, I want to create a button in Photoshop and use it to play my commercials.
    My issues:
I can't get the music to play and have a custom button on the same menu. I can't get the "highlight" portion of the button to work with the PSD file I created for the button.
It seems like it would be so simple. What I am I doing wrong?

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
From what you have written I'd say you are using a photoshop layer based menu and if so, you won't be able to use audio on it... they don't support it.
You'll be better off creating a standard overlay style menu instead, which will support the audio.
Alternatively, create a track and use a piece of slug as the video (or a still image) and place the audio in that track. Set that to be the start up item for the disc and then get the end jump to go to a menu with buttons to play the commercials.
Kind of depends on how you want to display this item, I guess...
