Xcelsius Intergartion in Webdypro Abap

Hi all,
I would like to integrate Xcelsius reports into WD for ABAP. For this I am trying to make custom flex code in which I am embedding the xcelsius swf in some container. I already defined external interface parameters in that Xcelsius swf. From the flex part I have already implemented intial part of the code i.e defination of the container and on the creation complete event I added a listener after casting the content of the container.
Now my problem is I would like to know how can I access the external interface paramter defined in Xcelisus swf(child swf). Is there any specific function or property through which I can get access to the external interface parameters defined in Xcelsius swf??? In debug mode I am able to see Xcelsius connection manager and alll...but I dont know how to reach the external interface parameters.
Is it through loaderinfo content or external interface call or anything else ??
Once I am done with above step I will add flash island library to my code...please help in resolving above mentioned issue.
I am not a flex programmer but still trying it . I would be very thankful if somebody supports me in that and provide some direction.
Thanks
Regards,
Atul

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your reply. Meanwhile somehow I am able to create a wrapper with flex using External Interface. Now I am able to bind web dynpro Abap UI elements with Xcelsius external interface paramaters using some custom flex code. Now as a next step I would like to experiment to have bidirection communication. I would like to know more about the enhancement request which you stated in the reply. Can you please let me know some links where I can find more infomation.
Thanks

  • Table maintenance generator in webdypro abap

    Hi Experts,
Please can you suggest how to implemnt Table maintenance generator in webdypro abap.
    Regards,
    BBC

    Hi,
    Thanks for your inputs,
Now I have included add, modify, delete and save functionalities to ALV table.
Here What I did, fist it shows the list of records from data base table with ALV table as ready only mode.
    Then
If we click on add button then last row will add with editable mode,
If we select a row and click on modify button then in that row fourth field only editable (because first three are primary key fields).
If we select row and click on delete then record deleted and updated in database table.
If click on save button, it captures the modified ones then saved.
if we test individual functionality, it is working fine.
If we do fist add functionality then after saving if we click on modify row then it is showing total row as in editable mode.
Here as per modify fyctionlaity in that row fourth field only have to show editable.
Please can you suggest how to resolve this issue?

  • GP and WebDypro ABAP

    Hello,
We are using WD ABAP as an input form in our GP process.  Currently, WD ABAP contains input parameters but doesn't have the same output parameter functionality that WD Java does.  From reading other threads on SDN and logging an OSS message, SAP knows about the no output parameters in WD ABAP but there's no time table to fix it.
Here is the problem with WD ABAP in GP.  We have a process where a user enters data in the WD ABAP form (step 1) and submits the form.  As a workaround and a manaul second step in the GP process, we're using input form which the user has to re-enter the number generated from Step 1 again in Step 2 to trigger the output of Step 1 to reach the processor in Step 3.
Without switching technology from using WD ABAP to WD JAVA or Visual Composer, is there a way to automate Step 2 where a user doesn't have to re-enter data?
    Thanks,
    Chuck

    Hello,
Unfortunately it seems there is no solution for this, because the transmission of parameter values works with the help of the so-called GP context. And the decisive issue of WD for ABAP is that it's not possible to retrieve the parameter values into the GP context and forward it elsewhere.
If this was possible, we wouldn't have so many discussions about the limitations of ABAP WD in GP.

  • Best Practice for enhancing the SAP delivered standard WD ABAP application

    Hi,
I am new to WebDypro ABAP.
To enhance the SAP delivered Standard WebDynpro Component (complex component with Business objects & powl).
Kindly let me know the best practice for enhancing the Standard WD ABAP from the below 1 or 2.
    1) To copy & create a "Z" of the component & make changes in that (or)
    2) to enhance directly on the same standard component without making "Z".
    Regards,
    NS

    Hi NS,
If it is a standard component its better we go for enhancing the component rather than copying it into Z component.
If there is any issue with in the standard component , SAP supports it through notes and OSS messages. If it is a Z component, SAP doesn't support it.
If there is any up gradation of business packages, changes will be done to standard , but not the Z components, wherein we could miss it.
Further, since it is a standard component it might have been used at many places, changes that has to done to reflect all changes might be difficult in this case if it is a z component.

  • Interactive Forms by Adobe in Web Dynpro for ABAP: offline scenario

    Hi colleagues,
    I have the following problem:
So I created a web-Dynpro with an interactive from. In this application there are two scenarios:
    -     An Online scenario: it works!
    -     An Offline scenario: unfortunately doesn’t work (The problem persists in this scenario).
As I understood correct, I should be able to upload the PDF-file from my documents. But the up-load option doesn’t work.
Please see the steps I follow:
    1. I created a FileUpload-application and then I browsed a PDF- File by using browse-button. And I got a standard open-window and I was able to choose a PDF-file, which I want to open.
    2. I click on the button upload and it doesn’t work. But the current page is only refreshed. In case it works, I should see the information I have uploaded onto my PDF-form.
I already discussed this issue with my colleague, but couldn’t find the solution yet.
Does anybody have the idea, why the Upload option doesn’t work?
    Thank you in advance!
    Kind Regards,
    Mohamed

    Hi Mahamed,
I got your problem. You have not done anything wrong.
It is WebAS version which is not supported for this functionality.
But there is solution to this problem
Please refer to the SAP Note number - 1055738.
I think you will get the answer and the scenario described there will match your requirement.
This is a know issues with WebDypro ABAP but this works fine for Java Web Dynpro.
I have also tried for 2 months but finally came to know about it.

  • Show additional tab in Cprojects

    Hi,
I have created a custom Webdypro ABAP component to add a new tab in cProject Component(DPR_MAINFRAME).
In my webdynpro component i have implemented the standard interface DPR_CUST_EXT_INTF.
In view i have created a tab and inside the tab i have created some 5 input field and created a ztable to store the values
entered in the input fields on click of 'Save' button in the view.
In SPRO I have made the below mentioned configuration to inculde my tab inside the View of DRP_MAINFRAME.
Collobaration Projects->Global Enhancements to Projects Elements->Show Additional Tab page in cPRojects.
Clicked on  'NewEntry' button to create a new entery
Project Element Type : Project Definition
        Project Type:  blank
        Tab Active: Checked
        Tab Page Title: Custom Tab
        Webdynpro Component: ztabs
After having done this when i execute the DPR_MAINFRAME Application i am able to view my tab inside the view of the standard application.
When i enter details inside the input fields and when i click on Save the data is also getting saved in my ztable.
When we execute the DRP_MAINFRAME Component we can find a Save button provided in the Standard component.
My requirement is On click of the Standard SAve button the data entered in the input field must get inserted in the ztable.
When i implemented the interface DPR_CUST_EXT_INTF , method ON_AFTER_SAVE got created in my component controller .
I even tried placing my code in the method but data didn't get updated in the ztable.

  • Webdynpro Error with Upgrade

When we upgrade from stack 14 to 17, some process of Web dynpro isn't working correctly.
I have create Webdypro ABAP main page within the main page, I have buttons go to different pages.
This process works fine after the upgrade, it will go to right pages.
But within page where adobe interactive form is included when I click on buttons to save or go back to main page, it goes to infinite loop and never even get to button's onAction command lines.
Has anyone come across this kind of issue?
Thanks for any help you can give.
    John
PS Everything worked fine before the upgrade and nothing within Webdynpro program has changed since the upgrade.

    Hello,
The problem on my side was that I am calling different RFC methods in my code. One of these methods is only used rarely and I forgot to test this one uring my development (configuration).
I noticed that for this specific method I was using the IRfcFunction object of my main method.
Doing this when I call for oIRfcFunction.GetTable("DATESPECIFICATIONDATA"), SAP gave me the error explain in the thread here. Which is logical as my main method does not contain table "DATESPECIFICATIONDATA".
Changing the oIRfcFunction to the valid method object solved the problem directly.
I hope this may help you. But as you can see it was a coding bug on my side.

  • BSP - Web Dynpro - Interactive Forms by Adobe - Flex

    Hi,
I am a student SAP from Belgium.
I am currenty developping an application and I am using BSP's, Web Dynpro's, Interactive Forms and Flex.
I have a good idea regarding to what the possibilities are of each User Interface, but I would like your opinions:
What are the main advantages/disadvantages of each of the named User Interfaces?
So what's good/not good about BSP, Web Dynpro, Interactive Forms, Flex?
What's the easiest to code, to make a layout,....
I know, according to the sitiuation, you can choose which UI to use, but I would really like to know what your opinions are about coding, easy-to-use, speed, logic,... (PRO/CONTRA'S)
Thanks a lot for your input, it would really help me!

  • Printing in Portal

    Hi Gurus,
I have a Web Dynpro application (ABAP) deployed in the portal. Now user wants to print Quality Notification (QN) in the ALV grid from the Portal by clicking a button. What is best way to achieve this? I am using SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 15. Thanks!
    Best Regards,

    Anthony,
I would suggest yout to perform this at webdypro ABAP level. SAP EP is just act as an integration point in this scenario.

  • What is the context

    Hi,
What is the context in Webdypro ABAP, can you brief me ?
    Regards,
    Gopal

    Hi Kishore,
The hierarchical storage for the global variables of controllers is called the context.
Context in Webdynpro which hold the Nodes and attrubutes which can be used to bing to the UI element.
-> Link a data container that holds the data
-> The data transport between the controller can be established with mapping definition.
The variables defined in a Web Dynpro Controller context can be referenced from
other Web Dynpro controllers. This is called context mapping. This allows to
share common attributes between different controllers, so copying these attributes
between the controller contexts is not necessary.
The value of UI elements, that allow a user input, have to be connected to context
attributes of the corresponding controller. This is called data binding. Through
data binding, an automatic data transport between the UI elements and the context
    attributes is established.
Combining these two concepts, the data transport between UI elements located in
different views can be defined in a purely declarative way.
    Warm Regards,
    Vijay

  • BSP Doubts

    Hi Experts,
Can anybody can explain to following doubts
    1) Does the BSP htmlb library is ligther than the WebDynpro ABAP, I mean which page loads faster
    2) Is Custom javscipts are supported in WebDynpro ABAP.
    3) Is RTL Rendering can be controlled in WebDypro ABAP ?
    4) Is there any client-side regular expressions can be used in the BSP ,otherwise cl_abap_regex is the only options to validate which will becomes a server side validation (ABAP Stack )
    5) Is there any control of the BSP input elements if we declare data type as numeric, system should allow the numericals only
    6) Can BSP HTMLB is supported by the Opera, Chrome and Safari browsers
    7) How to handle the Back Page problem, everytime it is getting session out whenver tried using BACK page in IE.

    Hi Naga,
the sort of questions you are asking require a good understanding of the underlying technologies to not only get the answers but to understand the implications of these answers as well.
I encourage you to "have a go". Roll up your sleeves and try everything you have asked about yourself. You will learn much more than the simple answers to these seven questions.
To start you on the way you should understand that the BSP runtime framework provides server-side scripting for the ABAP web application server. In this regard BSP applications can be seen as no different to .JSP, .ASP, PHP or any other similar model. The BSP runtime environment sits on top of the Internet Communication Manager (ICM). The provided tag libraries such as HTMLB execute on the BSP runtime. These tag libraries are typically used to produce HTML and Javascript code that is returned as part of the HTTP response to the web browser for rendering and execution by the browser. You do not have to use these tag libraries, or any others you build yourself, if you do not want to.
The WebDynpro ABAP runtime also sits on top of the ICM - but in most other respects is very different from the BSP runtime. At runtime a WDA application produces as a response a data stream (lets assume it is XML) that is passed to a purpose build renderer to produce the specific user interface elements for the client application. Most people are used to the WDA client being a web browser. As web browsers have varying and somewhat limited rendering capabilities the WDA renderer for a web browser runs on the server as part of the WDA runtime and translates the XML response from the WDA application into the appropriate HTML and Javascript before it is transmitted to the web browser. If the client application includes its' own WDA renderer the server simply transmits the XML datastream to the client application which then renders the UI itself. This is how the desktop version of NetWeaver Business Client works. It uses MFC libraries to render the UI natively on windows clients.
If you have absorbed the two paragraphs above you should realise a few things. Firstly you can send anything you like in the response to a HTTP request using the BSP runtime. Secondly you have essentially no control over the response you send to a WDA HTTP request.
So to quickly address your specific questions....
    1) Does the BSP htmlb library is ligther than the WebDynpro ABAP, I mean which page loads faster
That would probably be true when your client is a web browser - it almost certainly would not be true if you were using the desktop version of the NetWeaver Business Client or the WDA Flex client.
    2) Is Custom javscipts are supported in WebDynpro ABAP.
    No
    3) Is RTL Rendering can be controlled in WebDypro ABAP ?
Yes - I think. Have a go and find out.
    4) Is there any client-side regular expressions can be used in the BSP ,otherwise cl_abap_regex is the only options to validate which will becomes a server side validation (ABAP Stack )
Sure - you can put any client-side code you like in a BSP response.
    5) Is there any control of the BSP input elements if we declare data type as numeric, system should allow the numericals only
Sure - use client-side scripting to do this. Alternatively create your own BSP tag library to do this.
    6) Can BSP HTMLB is supported by the Opera, Chrome and Safari browsers
The HTMLB tag library only supports specific browser versions. Check SAP documentation for these specifics. But you do not have to use these tag libraries and you can create your own if you like as well.
    7) How to handle the Back Page problem, everytime it is getting session out whenever tried using BACK page in IE.
I assume you are talking about a stateful BSP application. This is a web browser issue. If you build a stateless BSP application you can prevent this and there are other techniques to prevent it with stateful pages as well. Personally I recommend avoiding stateful BSP applications.
    Cheers

  • Integrate Xcelsius Report in WebDynpro for ABAP

    Hi all,
I would like to integrate Xcelsius reports into WD for ABAP. This shouldn't be a problem if using EHP1 in ERP backend.
But what I would to do is to influence the report's behaviour. E.g. by clicking on a button I want the report to change.
Is it possible to trigger events from WD ABAP into an integrated Xcelsius report?

I believe this is a duplicate question to another thread, but SAP supplies both a Flex 2 and Flex 3 version of the FlashIslands SWC.  Just use the Flex 2 library.
