XCode 3.1 subview loses back button

I've got no idea what I'm doing wrong here.. I've maintained the parent/child hierarchy with my views...
I have MasterView -> DetailView -> DocumentEditView.
I can go into the detail view from the master view table... I can click on 'edit' to edit the document which takes me to the document edit view. When I click on 'cancel' in the document edit view, it goes back to the detail view, but there is no back navigation button, even though I can NSLog the title of the button, I know the name of the parent view, etc. I've tried just setting the leftBarButtonItem.enabled = YES, etc, but to no avail. Nothing shows up to take me back to the top. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Also note that if I just go to the detail view from the master, I get a back button view. I am setting my .titles in the viewDidLoad method, so all of that works fine. It's just that when I descend into the edit view, and click 'cancel' to take me back to the detail view, I have no back navigation button... Very frustrating. Beginning to drink heavily.

Customised Back button in ALV loses selection screen parameters

Hi,
In my ALV output, the user interacts with the output. I had to program my own back button in the pf-status so that when the user hit back they didnt return to the original alv output. (if that makes sense)
I use LEAVE TO TRANSACTION 'ZZZZ' (user_command form) but the problem is that i lose all the selection parameters that the user has entered.
I have tried everything.........set screen 0, leave screen etc..........and searched the forum but cant find the answer.
Anyone know what i need i do..........

I was referring to the search box in Google's page. I also use the search box to the right of the address box up on the navigation toolbar. I never search from the address area itself. Is that where it is getting blanked out?
It's probably not a problem with Windows. More likely you have an add-on that is causing the problem. You can restart in Firefox's Safe Mode to test that theory.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

If that works as expected/intended/designed, then one of your add-ons likely is the problem.

Page back button is disabled after clicking to another web page, causing me to lose the original page.

When I click to follow a link from one of my home pages, the back button becomes disabled. This has the effect of "disappearing" the first page and "stranding" the link I traveled to.
The only work around is enter the site again. Subsequent clicks from the page don't cause it to disappear again.

I would suspect a slightly incompatible addon of causing that to happen.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? ''A troubleshooting mode.'' 
You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running.

Back button loses its memory after a while

Greetings,
I brought up the ohguide.bat from OHJ 4.2.3 and selected the topic "About the Files". I selected each hyperlink from this page and then used the "Back" button to return back to the original About the Files topic. Using the table of contents, I then selected the topic "Topic Files". I selected a hyperlink in this topic, then selected "Back" which I assumed would go back to the topic "Topic Files". Instead, it went to the topic "About the Files". Now, any topic I browse, select a hyperlink and then select the Back button, it returns to "About the Files".
We first noticed this with our own help topics, but was able to reproduce this with ohguide.bat. Can you fix this? This is very confusing to our users and the Back button is essentially unusable after a certain number of tries.

Updated to 3.0 - sluggish responses and "back" button no longer working?

Hi all, first post - I'd like to know if others are having similar experiences after upgrading to 3.0 on a 2nd gen ipod touch.
First off, when playing music, the "back" button always used to take me back to the previous song if the current song had only just started. However, now when I press "back", I get a random song, just like pressing "forward" in shuffle mode - so I cannot go back to re-rate a song for example. I want my "back" button back!
Second, does anyone else find the responses to the "forward" and "back" buttons slow? There's like a half-second delay while the ipod "thinks" about performing the action, and before the screen updates (scrolls to the next album cover or details screen).
Hoping there will be an official update ASAP to address these issues!

Anytime you have problems like this, you should go through this routine:
1. Restart your iPod - Hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red slider - turn it off. To turn it back on, use the Sleep/Wake button and you will see an Apple icon as it restarts.
2. Reset your iPod - Hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons down together until you see an Apple logo (takes about 10 seconds). Let your iPod restart.
3. And finally, if those don't work for you, restore your iPod in iTunes. Everything will be wiped off and reloaded - and no, you won't lose anything.
BTW, broken WiFi seems to be a very individual problem and there appear to be some work arounds. Battery life doesn't seem to be a general issue but again, an individual problem.

My back button stopped working, so how to fix it?

The back button stopped working. I can still use the keyboard substitute though. I have tried deleting places.sqlite and resetting some of the settings people suggested in config:about. Nothing has worked.

You can try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

Try closing Firefox completely

Use of the Back button in DBI (vs use of Breadcrumbs)

I have received the following query from a Customer :
"The use of the 'breadcrumb' as opposed to the browser 'Back' button. Having used DBI myself, the temptation to use the Back button instead of the breadcrumb is hard to resist! What happens if Back button or the breadcrumbs are used inconsistently? What will the impact be to the displayed data etc?"
I've tried to find an "official" answer to their question, but, despite searching the latest DBI User Guide (and the associated supplement) for the phrases "Back button" and "breadcrumb", I can find no official mention of the issue. I recollect (vaguely) hearing that the application can "lose context" if the Back button is used indiscriminately. Is there an "official ruling" on whether we advise our Customers to avoid using the Back button ?

Not sure of the offical stance on this. Once, I found data mismatch issue while using the browser back button in DBI. Suggest them to use the Breadcrumbs for navigation than the back button. Thanks.

[iPhone] Invisible Navigation Back button item?

I'm a little perplexed on this one. I've started a project based off the Navigation Controller template in Xcode, which is table based, and I push a view controller onto the stack, it shows up just fine.
The problem is, after this new view is pushed, there's no Back button in the navigation Bar. Well, not visible at least. If I click on the navigation bar on the left side, where the Back button should be, it goes Back! But I can't figure out why it's not showing.
There's a property like self.navigationItem.hidesBackItem or something like that, but setting it to NO had no effects.
Anyone?

You nailed it. Problem solved. And I guess that makes sense, the Back button I guess is derived from the title of the previous view (seems to me though it should have some default value like "Back").

Refreshes to bottom of page randomly without prompt, and back button won't work unless clicked several times.

I've noticed that every time I open a page, I am automatically redirected to the bottom of the page, after scrolling up to the top I can only go a few minutes on that page before Firefox refreshes to the bottom of the page again without my doing anything at all. It's similar to when you're viewing a page at a certain point, and you refresh, it'll refresh back to the spot that you were viewing, only it's as if Firefox thinks that I was down at the bottom of a page I haven't opened before (in all cases with any website I visit), and it brings me immediately to the bottom of the page, and then several times when I'm simply viewing the page.
The other issue is when I try to hit the back button. You know those obnoxious websites that don't really go back unless you hit the back button a bunch of times, or go to the drop down back menu? EVERY page is like that now. I can't go back on most pages because if I go back to far, it goes to a blank page that I started on and then the forward button greys out. It's almost as if Firefox is having a laugh at my expense, but I don't want to give it that much credit.
This is most irritating when I'm working on Webassign.net, my calc homework pages cause Firefox to crash or freeze up anyway when I have to use their textbox with complicated math symbols, so when ti starts freshing and jumping all over the place while trying to input complicated equations, I usually just have to close everything and open Firefox again. I lose a lot ot math homework that way.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Sluggish go-back button

The go-back-to-previous-page button on my Safari 1.0.3(v85.0.1) has suddenly become very slow to respond. I have reset Safari and trashed preferences and the icon cache but nothing has helped. The back button on Explorer and Firefox works fine. Diagnostics find no system problems. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks for info.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Sometimes my back button is greyed out and does not show the previous page i was just looking at!?

This randomly happens and i can not tell exactly what i do or why.
All i know is that every time you visit a page,site, picture etc... the back button remembers every page you have just been too in that session.
However some times the back button goes grey and i can not click on it and it loses all the previous pages i have been to.
I can reopen the last pages by going to my history but it's really annoying as it takes time and as i surf and look at a lot of things, the back button is crucial for me.

I am experiencing the same problem with the back button randomly being greyed out and not functional. If I navigate to the same page a second time, the back button is usually functional again... have not been able to associate this behavior with any particular site
