XI - external BC communication
Hello all,
I want to setup a new scenario send IDOC XML (without any mapping) from ERP to an external partner using a business connector 4.6. I´m using XI 3.0 SP 19. My partner give me the follow comminication data.
URL: http://B2BTest.company.de:5555/invoke/company.Test/Ping
POST-data-parameter is : xmldata
What is the best adapter for this scenario and how configure the "xmldata"?
thanks for your help
Ulf
Hi Ulf,
As per as my understanding to your requirement that you want to post your Idoc_XML string to BC using XI Adapters on given link or using that link. For this purpose, you can use the Plain Http adapter. Using this adapter you can post the IDoc to to BC using XI.
URL contains something like https://abcXIbox.com......?data1='JOHN'
For this regard these links will help you.

External System communication via RFC
Hi Experts
In my landscape, sending system want to use an RFC connection to the PI via SAP java connector. In turn PI should call the RFC in the SAP System and execute the RFC and return the results.
note ; Sending system is Java based system
Is it possible to connect to PI from external system via java connector ? if so what configuration has to be done in the PI and external system.
when i checked the sender communication config , its asking for application server gateway and service. Is these needed to be configured in SAP PI or external system.
Please provide your inputs
Thanks in advanceif you are not using Java connector then you must use Java proxies.

External program communication
Hi all,
For a SAP project I need to establish an connection to an existing Delphi program (Delphi 7), send and receive data in various formats.
After searching the web for info ( I am new to ABAP programming ) I could not find very much info on how to realize this.
I believe that I need to write a RFC-server to handle the RFC's from SAP.
I found the site: http://www.bapi.is-here.de/ which is recommended by a couple of people, but this site only provides the components and examples for connecting to SAP from a Delphi application (or am I missing something?).
An other site I found was http://www.shareit.com/programs.html?productid=192748&language=English where it is possible to obtain components to write external client- as well as server apllications. With the trial version components, I succeeded to write a server which connects to SAP, receives a function call with parameters and returns some parameters.
Before we purchase the licence for the components I would like to know if this is the way to go, or if there is an other way to realise this.
Greetings Fred.Hi Sam,
It would be great if you could post the code, I believe that (including me) there will be a lot of people who are interested.
@Rob: I can not find the path you specified in the menu when I display the function module. Does it matter which version I am using? I am using SAPBasis 6.2 and SAP version 4.7. If I can find this RFC-interface generate function it would help me a lot.
The answers until now are about connecting from an external application (in my case written in Delphi) and using an interface to use an SAP function. This is an functionality we also want to use and I thank you for that.
But the RFC-server I mentioned in my question is to be written in Delphi and I want to connect from SAP to my Delphi server application and use an function inside my Delphi application.
I was already succesfull with that with the trial-components I mentioned in my question, but I want to know if there is an other way to realise this. The components create some sort of wrapper to communicate with the RFC-library (written in the c-language) which is in the RFCSDK.
I found quite a collection of ActiveX components in the RFCSDK as well, but I do not believe they will allow me to communicate from SAP to Delphi.
I have installed SAPLogon components and SAPFunctions components and am able to (I repeat myself) call an function in the SAP system, but not the other way around.
When I connect to the SAP system with the ActiveX comps I can see the connection in the Gateway Monitor as an active connection and as an connected client.
My other server application (with trial comps) is not visible as an active connection, but only as an connected client. This client connection has an register status WAITING in contrast to the ActiveX connection which has no register info at all.
Can anyone explain these differences to me?
Thanx,
Fred -
Communication channel Availability
Hi All,
I am having a File to File scenario wherein there is no mapping involved. You can say as good as using a FTP.I am using XI in this scenario purely because of client requirement.
Problem Statement :
I need to pick up the source file from a particular folder and send it to target folder at a paticular time say 8:00 am daily.
Steps taken:
To take in this requirement, I have configured the Sender communication channel (Type File) availability to 8:00am - 8:15am daily. This was done by going to RWB>CC Monitoring>Control data(Automatic)
Settings :
Details Tab:
1)Description: Just any characters here
2)Active: Checked
3)Availability Time - Daily
At (Time):8.00 For (Duration): 15 Minutes
Series Start: Start Date Series End: End Date
Availability Times From : -same as above-
Communication channel Tab:
Communication Channel:<Sender Communication channel Name>
All above config is saved.
Problem encountered:
Now when I do the above steps, XI does take not only the file from source for 8-8:15 duration but also outside it. So file which comes in source folder after 8:15 am say at 9:00 is also picked up by XI, which ideally should not be the case.
My Query :
Am I going wrong somewhere while configuring the availability of Comm channel?
Regards,
ShibenHi Shiben,
Could you please check the Control Data state of Communication channel, it should be Automatically (not Manually)
● Manual
You control the communication channel by choosing Start or Stop.
● Automatic
The communication channel is controlled by availability times.
● External
The communication channel is controlled by an HTTP request.

Screensharing fails to external User
Hey Guys
Im experiencing a Problem with Lync 2013 and i think it is a bit strange.
While most services work flawless, 2 services refuse to work with external user (communication between internal and external user). Filesharing and Screensharing dont work and i really cant figure out why. I have added the Eventlog entry from the client wich
i think is the most relevant entry i have.

BGP Community | Route-Map | Local Pref
While labbing today I've ran into some strange behavior with BGP communities/route-map processing. Basically the objective was from R9, send a community for the 172.30.79.0/27 route out to R7 to 65100:90 AND send a community for the 172.30.89.0/27 route out to R8 to 65100:110. Then on R9 match community 65100:90 and set the local-pref to 90 and 65100:110 to local-pref of 110. Should be easy enough but the behavior that i'm seeing is that all is working on R7 but not on R8. The R8 inbound route-map is watching the community but not setting the local-pref for some reason... Any ideas? See below.

Output Message Type MAHN not getting picked up in PO
Hello Experts
I have configured customized output type ZMAH (similar to MAHN) for reminder process. When I am creating PO this output type is not getting picked up automatically. If I am maintaining it manually I am able to send message for ME9F (Purchase Order) and ME91F (Reminder) successfully. Upon deremination analysis I am getting this message 502 " Output ignored (requirement 103 not fulfilled) ". Reminder are getting picked up from Purchase Value Key to PO.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

With reference to cisco's document on BGP Best Path Selection Algorithm (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/border-gateway-protocol-bgp/13753-25.html).
Out of given 9 paths why 6th has been selected even though AS_PATH for 8th route is better.
Can anyone explains here, as this document has not considered the AS-PATH during path selection and used lowest ROUTER ID only.
Thanks in advance and expect technical explanation here.Hey Buddy
The AS_PATH for both is only 1, don't get confused by (AS_SET) which only counts as 1 no matter how many AS are in the set. Refer to section "How the Best Path Algorithm Works"
4.Prefer the path with the shortest AS_PATH.
Note: Be aware of these items:
◦An AS_SET counts as 1, no matter how many ASs are in the set.
So bearing the above in mind
Example: BGP Best Path Selection
Path6
(64955 65003) 65089 --- this equals 1
172.16.254.226 (metric 20645) from 10.57.255.11 (10.57.255.11)
Origin IGP, metric 0, localpref 100, valid, confed-external, best
Extended Community: RT:1100:1001
mpls labels in/out nolabel/362
!--- BGP selects this as the Best Path on comparing
!--- with all the other routes and selected based on lower router ID.
Path8
(65003) 65089 --- this equals 1
172.16.254.226 (metric 20645) from 172.16.254.234 (172.16.254.234)
Origin IGP, metric 0, localpref 100, valid, confed-external
Extended Community: RT:1100:1001
mpls labels in/out nolabel/362
Comparing path 6 with path 8:
Both paths have reachable next hops
Both paths have a WEIGHT of 0
Both paths have a LOCAL_PREF of 100
Both paths are learned
Both paths have AS_PATH length 1 --- because the (AS_SET) always equals 1
Both paths are of origin IGP
Both paths have the same neighbor AS, 65089, so comparing MED.
Both paths have a MED of 0
Both paths are confed-external
Both paths have an IGP metric to the NEXT_HOP of 20645
Path 6 is better than path 8 because it has a lower Router-ID.
Hope it helps (: -
Dear all,
I have created one message condition type ZMAI copying from NEU for purchase order output and assigned output mode as 5-External send.Communication strategy i have given as CS01.Condition records i have maintained in MN04.My purchase orders are not picking this output type. What needs to be done for sending purchase orders thorugh mail mode(external send)
Regards,
Milton.IAre you already assign it to your PO message schema?
Please check to below link:

SG300: How to set up routing between VLANs?
I have recently purchased a Cisco SG300-10. I need it to perform routing between two VLANs on the switch. Seems like this should be quick and easy to do from the built in GUI. When I configure it according to the documentation, it does not ropute between the VLANs.
I have set the system mode to L3 (for level 3 switching).
I have followed the instructions on pages 26 through 33 of the attached PDF (which I obtained from the Cisco site). I used the same ports on the switch and the same IP addresses as shown in the document.
Everything works until I attempt the step "ping 10.1.1.10" on page 33. This is the step to verify the level 3 switching between the 2 PCs (on separate VLANs).
The switch Firmware Version (Active Image): 1.3.5.58
I have attached the running configuration from the switch. It is the file named "running-config.txt".
The 2 PCs that I am using are running Windows 7 and Windows 8.Hi jkst,
There is a very minimum requirement to obtain layer 3 intervlan routing
1- 2 VLAN in layer 3 mode assigned an IP address
config t
vlan database
vlan 2
int vlan 1
ip address 192.168.1.1 /24
int vlan 2
ip address 192.168.2.1 /24
2 - Active link state on each VLAN - Define a port for the second vlan then connect an IP device to that port and another device to another port since the rest of the ports will default to vlan 1
config t
int gi2
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 2
3 - Assign your device #1 that connects to any port an ip address on the same subnet as vlan 1
Computer in vlan 1 IP info=
192.168.1.100
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
Computer in vlan 2 IP info-
192.168.2.100
255.255.255.0
192.168.2.1
Assuming these devices respond to ping and do not have external wireless communication, this will provide basic IP connectivity through the switch across vlans.

Error in Service designer with sample adapter
Hi all,
I try to use SampleAdapter. When I create a master service based on Sample Adapter (wich is correctly in the classptah on the server). I received the following message : The Master Service does not have an adapter definition.
I ignore it and I create an alias for this Master service. I test it in request manager and the service created with the sample adapter work ??
What can I do to supress error message in Service Designer ?
ThanksVasanthakumar,
in my previous experiences with internal/external parties communication, I've found out that the best practice is to create an integration scenario and then create the configuration scenario from scenario wizard. It is much simpler and easier.
Briefly, you'll have to create a dummy party/service in order to "wrap" your internal system, since the external party should not receive information regarding internal systems (Business system name, for example).

SC 3.2 second node panics on boot
I am trying to get a two node (potentially three if the cluster works :) ) cluster running in a solaris 10 x86 (AMD64) environment. Following are the machine specifications:
AMD 64 single core
SATA2 hdd partitioned as / (100+gb), swap (4gb) and /globaldevices (1gb)
Solaris 10 Generic_127112-07
Completely patched
2 gb RAM
NVidia nge nic
Syskonnect skge nic
Realtek rge nic
Sun Cluster 3.2
Two unmanaged gigabit switches
The cluster setup would look like the following:
DB03 (First node of the cluster)
db03nge0 -- public interconnect
db03skge0 -- private interconnect 1 -- connected to sw07
db03rge0 -- private interconnect 2 -- connected to sw09
/globaldevices -- local disk
DB02 (Second node of the cluster)
db02nge0 -- public interconnect
db02skge0 -- private interconnect 1 -- connected to sw07
db02rge0 -- private interconnect 2 -- connected to sw09
/globaldevices -- local disk
DB01 (Third node of the cluster)
db01nge0 -- public interconnect
db01skge0 -- private interconnect 1 -- connected to sw07
db01rge0 -- private interconnect 2 -- connected to sw09
/globaldevices -- local disk
All external/public communication happens at the nge0 nic.
Switch sw07 and sw09 connects these machines for private interconnect.
All of them have a local disk partition mounted as /globaldevices
Another fourth server which is not a part of the cluster environment acts as a quorum server. The systems connect to the quorum server over nge nic. the quorum device name is cl01qs
Next, I did a single node configuration on DB03 through scinstall utility and it completed successfully. The DB03 system reboot and acquired quorum vote from the quorum server and came up fine.
Then, I added the second node to the cluster (running the scinstall command from the second node). The scinstall completes successfully and goes down for a reboot.
i can see the following from the first node:
db03nge0# cluster show

This panic and reboot cycle keeps on going unless I place the second node in non-cluster mode. The output from both the nodes looks like the following:

The only thing which is coming to my mind is that the skge driver is somehow causing the problem while it is a part of the cluster interconnect. Don't know, but another thread somewhere on the internet was facing a similar problem:
http://unix.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/SunManagers/2005-12/msg00114.html
The next step looks like inter-changing the nge and skge nics and trying it again.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
tualhaI'm not sure I can solve your problem but I have some suggestions that you might want to consider. I can't find anything in the bugs database that is identical to this, but that may be because we haven't certified the adapters you are using and thus never came across the problem.
Although I'm not that hot on kernel debugging, looking at the stack traces seems to suggest that there might have been a problem with MAC addresses. Can you check that you have the equivalent of local_mac_address = true set, so that each adapter has a separate MAC address. If they don't it might confuse the cl_com module which seems to have had the fault.
If that checks out, then I would try switching the syskonnect adapter to being the public network and making the nge adapter the other private network. Again, I don't think any of these adapters have every been tested so there is no guarantee they will work.
Other ideas to try are to set the adapters to not auto-negotiate speeds, disable jumbo frames, check that they don't have any power saving modes that might put them to sleep periodically, etc.
Let us know if any of these make any difference.

Auto send of PO via email once approved
hi Gurus,
We want to have an automatic sending of PO via email, once approved it is directly send to the vendor email no more t-code going to use. it is possible? what configuration we need to this set-up?
thanks,
Marina-You need to maintain e mail i.d in Vendor master.
-You need to maintain User email id in t code SU01, from which the mail need to be send.
Configuration for this.
- Go to NACE.
-Select EF and click on OUTPUT TYPES.
-Then select Output Type NEU and click on processing routines .
-In that you have to add a new entry - medium 5 - External Send
- Communication Strategy - CS01.
-Then you need to assign a program, form routine and form.
-You can use the standard program i.e. SAPFM06P, FORM routine is always ENTRY_NEU and standard MEDRUCK.
-Then in PARTNER FUNCTION you need to add a new entry : medium - 5 and function - VN .
-For subject of the mail go to Mail Title and Texts. In title give PO No. &EKKO-EBELN& .
-Under General data -> Replacement of text symbols give program as SAPMM06E and Form Routine as TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE.
-Now while creating a new purchase order , change the medium to External Send .
-Then go to Communication Method and select CS01.
- Need to Release the P.O in ME29N
- Go to tcode ME9F .
- Execute.
- Select the checkbox and click on Output Message.
- You will get a message MAII 00000000000001 generated .
- Use note no 191470
You can see the details in transaction code : Scot
