XI R3.1 publication success / fail notifications not sent

I have a set of 3 publications created and working fine in R3.1 (EDGE), each of which distributes a report to a UNC fileshare location. Upon success or failure, each is configured to send an email notification to an admin.
The publications work and distribute the reports fine, but 1 of the 3 email notifications will sporadically fail (not an explicit failure, but the notification email is not sent), and I do not see any errors captured for the recurrence itself nor in the publication log - everything indicates success. To add to this, it is seemingly random which one of the 3 notifications is not be sent - I don't see any pattern.
All 3 publications finish at nearly the same time, so I'm wondering if there is some sort of SMTP block going on that cannot be captured within the BOBJ layer? We only have a single job server that these destinations are processed through, and the SMTP destination is enabled and configured fine.
Has anybody come across anything like this? Any thoughts on what the root cause may be?
Thanks.....

Hi
can you check the logs of your SMTP server to see if the BOBJ server tried indeed to send 3 mails?

Stratos

  • Notification not sent when deadline passes

    Hi all!
I have defined deadline monitoring Latest End and Requested End for several steps in Workflow.
The time is static (X days from Work Item Creation).
The action is Modelled. When deadline passes, notification must be sent to receipient.
The problem: notification is not sent and workflow is in ERROR status in PRODUCTION environment.
In QA environment everything is OK and notification is always send.
The deadline definitions in SWU3 are similar in QA and PROD.
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nina Korotayev.

    Hello Nina,
It wasn't my recommendation to make it SYST-UNAME, but it should work.
So you say that in the binding you have:
    &NUMBER.RF_PARTNER_MANAGER& -> &ADDRESSSTRINGS&
    and yet the values are:
    RF_PARTNER_MANAGER = USMORISSU
    AddressString=US
I assume you mean AddressStrings (with an s at the end).
It's strange that a simple binding doesn't work.
Is RF_PARTNER_MANAGER a virtual attribute? Does the underlying database field perhaps receive its value just before this step? That could explain it, the workflow isnj't up to date with the database.
Remind me, have you been able to reproduce this problem in the test system?
    regards

  • Notification successful but email not sent untill PM shuts down

    Hello,
I was trying to email from a BPEL process and edited the ns_emails.xml file; corrected the SMTP host and port. The BPEL processes (with the email notification) succeed but the emails are not delivered until the BPEL PM shuts down.
My network administrator told me that he could see a session connecting to the SMTP host but that there is no disconnect. Shutting down the PM does disconnect resulting in delivery of the message.
    Not a desirable situation...
Does anyone have a suggestion to solve this or does anyone have a similar problem?
We are using Lotus Domino 5 as a mail server; perhaps that is a problem?

    Hi,
I'm having the same problem and my firewall is turned off, so I'm wondering what's the issue.
Can anyone suggest what's going wrong?
    Thanks,
    Aashish

  • App Ready Notification not sent to External Accessory in iOS7.1

We have an iPad application which communicates with External Accessory connected to ipad via USB/Bluetooth. While communicating to external accessory, application sends app ready notification to external accessory after initial handshake. But after debugging and carefull observation we have found that the app ready notification do not go to external accessory hardware from iPad. This issue is only observed in iOS 7.1 and 7.1.1 onwards. On previous iOS version it is working fine. What might be cause and resolution of this issue.
Thank you for the help and input.

Is the SMTP server that is setup in the Mailer Configuration connected to the Internet? Please use this same SMTP server in your e-mail client such as Outlook or Netscape Messenger and send an e-mail to Yahoo!. If you receive the e-mail in your Y! account, the SMTP server is good to send e-mails internal as well as external.
So, please check your SMTP server configuration to make sure it is able to communicate outside the firewall. No changes required in Workflow Manager.
    Hope this helps.

  • Report scheduled for delivery runs perfectly, but sends failed notification

Our BI Publisher 10.1.3.4 has spontaneously started refusing to deliver reports. The same reports that have always been delivered via email are now sending failed notifications instead.
I have put the server in debug mode and watched the process from beginning to end, and there is no indication of any problem. The relevant log section is below. You can see that it gives absolutelly no indication of why it is sending the failed notification.
Furthermore, the report output is generated successfully, and I can open the PDF from the job history and it looks good.

    Hi Joseph,
    1. I would clean my temporary directory. If not set then it will be ORA_HOME/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xdo/tmp
    In your case it is:
    /u01/oracle/product/10.2.0/BIPHome1/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0/xmlpserver/xdo/tmp/
And test again. Ensure it has enough space.
    2. If it does not work then I would read Oracle Support Note 797057.1 and see if there is a new patch for your installation.
The latest is from Nov 2011. Apply it and test it.
If none of the above work then I would open a ticket with oracle support.
From the BIP code I can only notice the issue happens during the delivery of the attachment through email delivery channel.
It is strange you can not deliver a document using email delivery channel but still can send notification using the same email server!.
    good luck
    regards
    Jorge

There are a few issues with the tutorial that I wish Oracle put out an errata on.
Judging from your error, it sounds like you collided with one or more of these issues, because most of the problems deal with the variable mapping and screenflow sections.
Re: Problem with Expense Management tutorial - If you do not see "reportSf" in your dropdown, this might get you going. This discusses problems found on pages 12, 32 and 38.
Re: Screeflow argument problems - Expense Management Tutorial - This might help you through another problem with the way the tutorial describes mapping.
Re: ALBPM 6.0 process instance is not showing in workspce - Helps with a problem found on page 17.
Re: Urgent with step by step example - Helps with problems found on pages 36 and 37.
Re: Cancel button on a screenflow - Provides a screenflow best practice recommendation very different from the technique used in the tutorial.

    Problems Tab
You engine's probably not starting correctly check the Problems tab for errors in your project.
    Log Viewer Tab
There's a bug in Oracle BPM 10g Studio (actually an incorrect default property setting) that causes hundreds of messages to be pumped into the Studio log files unnecessarily. The default for Studio's Engine logging is "Debug" instead of the more appropriate "Warning". This makes reading the log files almost impossible until it is manually changed by the developers (you and me) using Studio. This needs to done before starting the Engine for every project.
Here's how to make your log file only store the meaningful information:
    a) In Studio, stop the Engine
    b) right mouse click your project in the Project Navigator tab
    c) click "Engine Preferences"
    d) click "Runtime" on the left side
    e) in the "Messages logged from Server" change it from "Debug" to "Warning"
    f) in the "Messages logged from BP Methods" change it from "Info" to "Debug"
    g) click "OK"
    h) restart your Engine - as you are restarting the Engine, be sure to check the "Delete Log Files" checkbox. This will remove the confusing and useless Engine debug log messages that make reading the log files a pain
    i) duplicate the problem you were having in the Workspace
    j) click the "Log Viewer" tab again
    k) note that there are two icons on the left side of the Log Viewer tab. Click the "Refresh" icon (the one below the one that looks like a clock)
You should now see very few log messages and those displayed are germaine to the problem you are having.
Here are a few tips that also might help you view information in the log file:
    1. Inside of your logic, create "logMessage" statements using this syntax:
logMessage "The value of the order amount is: "
+ orderAmount using severity = DEBUGThis will cause the current value of the orderAmount variable to be displayed in the log file. After running a work item instance in the process, click the "Log Viewer" tab to see the log file's contents.
    2. Before clicking on the "Log Viewer" tab, be sure that you have the process diagram selected in the panel above it.
    3. Inside the "Log Viewer" tab there is a refresh button inside the tab (the icon below the one that looks like a clock). Be sure to click this button to refresh the view of the log file entries.
    4. If you do not want to view your log file from the Log Viewer tab inside Studio, your log file is stored where your project is stored. Not to be confused with the end user "Workspace", Eclipse (the IDE Studio uses) stores it's project is a folder also called the workspace. This is determined by the dialog box with the name of the file folder you select when Studio first initializes. You'll be able to find the log files for your project in this directory:
    C:\<your Workspace folder>\<your project's name>\system

it looks like u201CCreate and Post a Physical Inventory Docu201D is failing in the initial processing because the inventory doc is created when the Transfer Order to the PSA (or the TO from the PSA) is not yet completed (quant is still locked somehow).
CO54, process message category=ZHU_CONS: HU to be consumed is a nested pallet (unpacking/ repacking and TOs to/from) and qty to consume is greater that HU qty in SAP (creation of a physical inventory doc is required).
    1. The error occurs while clearing the inventory posting for the physical inventory document.
    2. The surprising factor is the u201CProcess Messageu201D is not processed correctly for the first time.
    3. Indeed it is successfully processed without any error if you do process it second time.

Hope you have carried out following things in Production ( Please refer to SAP help before actually doing it in production).
    1. Transport the predefined characteristics from the SAP reference client (000) to your logon client.
    2. Adopt Predefined Message Categories - In this step, you copy the process message categories supplied by SAP from internal tables as Customizing settings in your plants.

  • Voicemail notifications not working for iphone 4s

voicemail notifications not working for iphone 4s

I had the same problem and after a lot of research here and on Verizon I finally discovered that it was an app named Onavo Extend that was preventing my voicemail from working. Other people have had success resetting their phone or network settings, disabling and reenabling SIRI, or deleting the Neilsen app (which I didn't have)  but those options didn't work for me. A lot of mods have claimed that this is not an Apple problem but if it is caused by an app that Apple allows to be sold in their app store, then it is an Apple problem, not a carrier problem. Of course, sometimes its just an ID 10 T problem.

  • Notifications are not sent to some users, even after the status is green.

    Hello
There are some notifications sent to many(4 to 5 users and i am one of them) users from the SAP system. And i can see in the SCOT transaction that the notifications are sent successfully to all the users. Status is Green(transmitted). But,the issue is that, Some users are getting the notifications and some(Incliding myself) are not.
The users who has mail id say for example  [email protected] are getting the notifications within no time but some usres who has maild id like [email protected] are not getting the notifications even after a day.
There are two Nodes are active in the SCOT transaction, One is SMTP and other one is Dummy.
In the address area of the Node SMTP, around 11 users mail ids are maintained, which includes both type mail ids xxxxxxx@xyz and
    [email protected]
And the * (star) is maintained in the address area of the Node Dummy.
Can you please give me some clue which can help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks for your time.
    Chetan....

    Hello Balaji,
    Thanks for your inputs.
As i informed that, there are two nodes active in the SCOT transaction. Address area of the NODE A is already set as '*'. So, it was not possible for me to set the start * value in the address area of the NODE B. I dont think its possible to maintain * in Both the NODES.
In the Node A, we have maintained * and in the Node B we have maintained some users mail ids. Because, as this is Quality system we dont want everyone to get the notifications.
    Thanks for your inputs.

  • How to clear/send the failed notifications?

    Hi
When i query and checked the wf_notifications table, is shows around 300 notifications that are with failed status. How to fix and send these notifications to the users?
The query that i have used is as follows:
    select notification_id, status, mail_status, begin_date,message_type
    from WF_NOTIFICATIONS
    where status = 'OPEN' and mail_status = 'FAILED' order by begin_date desc;

  • Publication has failed

In BPM studio 10g, a process has 4 interactive activities. After activity A, there is a conditional gateway. In each brunch, there is an interactive activity. Then, it is the final interactive activity.
I set the runtime property of all activities to user select transition. However, it shows error as follow:
The project publication has failed. Reason: This activity has the user select transition property enabled and has outgoing transitions with measurement marks or outgoing tranitions that target a conditional activity.
Then, I unselect the select transition of activity 1. It works.
However, the participant of the activity 1 cannot select the participant before send the activity.
How to let the participant of the fist activity can select the participant before sending?
    Thanks

    Hi Ye,
Others will disagree (and rightly so), but I don't use Conditional activities (commonly referred to as "Decision Diamonds) very often. Typically I'll just have the transitions that would have come out of the Conditional activity instead come directly out of the preceding activity. While business analysts who use Conditional activities are modeling processes correctly and in accordance with what industry pundits like Bruce Silvers would prefer seeing, my personal feeling is that their use just adds clutter to a process. There's an elegance to a well designed business process. I always strive to keep them as simple and as understandable as possible to both the business and IT.
I'll use Conditional activities in two cases:
    1) When the business is more familiar with Condtional activities and have used them extensively when modeling processes in the past using process modeling tools (e.g. Visio). If they're used to seeing Conditional activities, not using Conditional activities would be a distraction that some business analysts or business people would find annoying.
    or
    2) When I have a process design pattern where there are nested Conditional activities. For example:
    <pre class="jive-pre"><p />
    "Activity A" -> Conditional -> "Activity B"
    V
    "Activitiy C" -> Conditional -> "Activity D"
    V
    "Activity E"</pre>
Here, the work item instance flows from A to either B or C. If it goes to C then it either flows to D or E. While having Conditional activities for this use case is not essential (again - you could have the transitions come out of A and C directly), it makes the process easier to understand for business analysts and the business. I think not having the Conditional activities here makes the process look a bit like an electronics wiring diagram.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan
