Hi all XI guru,
Is there a link to download the complete latest XI ASAP Roadmap ?
I have been tried all the all below but unfortunately, none of them i can download the document.

Even now its possible for me to download file from that location zip file. See first time after u give ur servicemarketplace user id and pwd it will say page HTTP 404 - Page cannot be found, am I right?
Try click refresh again it will prompt u for uid & pwd give it for me I repeated nearly 3 times and got finally.
Try and lemme know.

Setup a template document in a SharePoint document library

I created a template for a document library in SharePoint Online. I configure it so when the user needs to open a new document the template opens. It works if you go to Files\New Document, but if you click on the New Document link
in the document library when you select word the default template opens. How can I get the new document link in the document library to open the template document that I created?

Its simple.. Go to the document library template which you have created. Then go to its library settings. Then go to advanced settings and select allow management of content type to yes. Then try to click ok and scroll down to find the option add from
existing site content types and then add your template which you have created and click ok. Once you have done that you will be able to see the option of that template when you click new. If you still don't get it then you can open a service ticket from the
sharepoint portal and post your ticket number here and I will try to reach you as soon as I can to take care of the issue from there. If you find this information useful, then propose this as an answer and vote. Thanks.

How do I add extra pages to template documents in the new version of pages which carry over the same formatting, borders etc?

Does anyone know how how to add extra pages to template documents in the new version of Pages which carry over the same formatting, borders, styles etc? In iWorks09, all styles, borders etc just used to carry over to the next page. In the new Pages, this doesn't seem to happen. Unless I'm missing something.
Any help would be appreciated.

Urgent - How to add pdf files to template document in multiple sessions?

Hi, forum!
VERY new to using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, so I am reaching out for help.
We have a "template" document with pre-assigned bookmarks. I need to add multiple PDF files into it, either by inserting pages, adding the complete PDF, and/or extracting pages, then assigning the locations to each individual bookmark.
The ending page count will be about 300 pages, and there is no way that I can create the complete document in one day or one session.
A) What is the best way to add pages from multiple PDF files into this "template" document?
B) Is there a way to add pages in one session, save it out, then add additional pages to the same output document on a different day, etc., without having to "re-add" the previous pages and until I am done and ready to finalize the document?
I would really appreciate a fast response, as my new job kind of depends upon me doing this well...

While waiting for a response, I ran into another problem:
Some of the PDF documents I am to work from are "protected," meaning I can read them but not extract any pages or click to add them to a list of files to import...but I need to extract some or all pages from it. Any suggestions on this?

Error message when checking WWI report template document in CG42.

I'm facing troubles to check MSDS report template document after upgrading the version 4.7 to ECC 6.0. When I try to Check the template I receive many msgs warnings like shown below:

See note 920317. That warning won't affect the result based on this example. You are using (2-*) on both the Discrete repeating group and the symbol itself. In your new system, the area you use discrete repeating group overrides the area on the symbol. The note gives some examples.

How to apply a Character Style that's already been made in a template document?

First of all I'd like to thank everyone that helps. I'm a complete beginner at scripting and appreciate all your help.
I'm basically using GREP expressions to find patterns in a document and apply a Character Style which has already been made. This Character style was not made using script, but just in InDesign when making and setting up the template.

This is how I currently have it. I will manually define the changes to the text. The problem is, each template uses a different set of fonts and not all of them use Bold e.g. Sabon can use CE Bold.
I would like to learn how to apply a Character Style and have tried looking around but nothing seems to work.

Import modified EDD into template document

Hi guys.
I have a dtd file that i have to modify.
i t contains the following element:
<!ELEMENT Pubinfo (Pubdate, Pubnumber)>
I modified it in this way:
<!ELEMENT Pubinfo (Pubdate, Pubnumber?)>
so now the Pubnumber is optional and not mandatory.
I opened the dtd on framemaker (7.x) and then saved it to optain an edd file.
I got a template file that use the edd file i just modified so i have to update the template file to use the modified edd.
so i open both files and then i do: import element definitions and then choose my modified edd from the list and framemaker says that the edd files was imported correctly. Now if i open a file to modify and choose to use my template, the document still require the Pubnumber element to be mandatory.
It seems that the modifications i made on the edd and reimported on the template doesn't take effect.
Can anyone help me please?. Is there something wrong on what i'm doing?

Two comments on the process you describe:
1) You say you open the DTD. I assume you opened it with StructureTools > Open DTD rather than simply opening it as a file.
2) Opening the EDD and then using StructurreTools > Import DTD to add the ? to the general rule is correct. Remember, though, that simply changing and saving the EDD will not update existing documents or your template. You must import element definitions from the modified EDD (or from a file into which those definitions have been imported) into the template and existing documents.

How can I create template documents for non-InDesign users to edit the text of later?

I'm looking to produce a small system for people within my company to edit and print labels as needed that comply with our internal design standards. I would like to use InDesign to produce a few templates for labels that people could then edit one or two fields later on, things like item name and ID number. I'm not averse to producing a small application in XCode that users can start up, enter their data and it saves the printer-ready label sheet to their desktop. I started out using Acrobat Pro, but I'm running into trouble embedding fonts for use in form fields, centering text, and outputting a filled-in pdf for print use, and not a form that submits info to an email or server. If InDesign is the wrong tool for the job of setting up a template like this, please feel free to suggest another route.

I would direct you to the Acrobat forums, personally. You can enable rich-text formatting of Acrobat form fields from within Acrobat Pro, and also IIRC embed fonts for use in form fields. If you can spec out what you mean by "fine detail that we'd need" then we, or someone over at the Acrobat forums, can tell you whether or not rich text in Acrobat forms will work for you. I suggest this to you because centering text for Acrobat form fields is dead easy, so I suspect you've not investigated the tools available in Acrobat after you've exported the PDF from InDesign.
Post-export PDF data merge sounds like, I dunno, variable-data printing? which doesn't sound like it would fit your case.

Selecting placeholder in template document

I am trying to delete a placeholder in a brochure I am working on. I didn't notice this one when I deleted the other ones. It will not let me select it. I have tried forever. Does anyone have a hint on how to get rid of it?

Sorry, more questions than answers to start. Which brochure template are you using & which placeholder? It also helps to know which version of Pages you're using. Knowing which one will help others figure it out. The template designers used many, many different methods that it's impossible to give a generic answer.

Word Templates and EASY Document Management

Hi all
I am currently evaluating Easy DMS for a customer and a couple of questions popped up.
Is it possible to create new Word documents based on a template from SAP DMS directly in MS Word?
Is it possible to use DMS Template documents in EASY DMS.
By templates I mean, MS Word documents stored in SAP DMS that have been customised as templates?
Lastly, can we use the mergefield technology of SAP DMS, in the new WebUI, in the EASY DMS solutions. I.e. can the new word document include metadata, like Document Status, if it was created using the WebUI and the EASY DMS solutions?
Any answers are greatly appreciated.

Documents attached to WEB template

I attached several doc to one web template. Now I want to delete 2 of them. When I go to Web template-Documents I see just last document attached. How I can see and delete other 2 documents??

Fill MS Word Document Template from ABAP

Hello friends.
I have a problem here, i wonder if you can help me. Here's my scenario...
I have a MS Word template Document, like say a letter, with bookmarks on it. These bookmarks are the actual fields to be filled.
What i would like to do is have an ABAP program that reads data from SAP and opens the template and fills the bookmarks with the information retrieved. Basicallyis one thing like we do with Mail Merge in MS Word.
Does anyone have any idea of how to make this?

All you have to give to the method is the name of the bookmark in MS word and the text you want to print. I specially take a internal table of two fields (name and value) and fill it in another method and pass it to this method.

How refresh the changes in the document templates?

Hello all,
I have a doubt. Within our Solman, in a project template, we have created a template documents about standards. Now we have made changes to these templates. My doubt about this is whether there are any way to refresh the documents and facts from these templates. Can we force this 'update'?

Hi Laia,
Let´s assume you are talking about MSWord documents.
When you create a new MSWord document it takes into consideration the Normal.dot file that is located on your PC to bring you with all formatting you previously set in this MS template file ( paragraph styles, fonts, colors, headers, footers, images, etc ).
When you sabe this new document, it starts "its own life". that is, if you move the file from your PC to another PC, it will not have the modifications you make on your local Normal.dot into consideration.
On the other hand, if you maintain the file on your PC and change the Normal.dot, depending on the change, than you will be able to see the change in the created document based on this template.
When you create a new document ( no matter if from template on solman or from scratch on your PC ) and upload it into solman, then you are working like in the case you move your file to other PC ( the connection to the template is broken ).
Other thing to take into consideration is that the Normal.dot is seen by MSword as a real template, while the document created from a template on solman is just a copy of an existing document, saved as a new file in another location.
