Xilinx Platform Cable USB II Status Light Always Off

I have been using the Xilinx Platform Cable USB II with ISE WebPACK 10.1 on Windows XP for a couple of years now.
Last week I bought a second Xilinx Platform cable, but I have not been able to get it to work. I have followed the instructions in the installation guide (ug344), and the Windows Found New Hardware Wizard runs twice when the cable is plugged in to a USB port, as expected. The wizard indicates that the installation of the firmware loader and the cable are successful. However, the status light on the cable never turns on. Also, the Cable Auto Connect operation in iMPACT fails:

I have tried using the cable with the latest version of ISE WepPACK on a computer running Windows 7, and I have followed instructions to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers using a DOS command prompt. The cable behaves as described above.
Is there anything else I can try, or is the state of the status light an indication that there is hardware problem?
Thanks.

Correct. Even though iMPACT reports it is attempting to install firmware, the light is never on. I have not seen it on in any color since I bought the cable.
I have tried the latest version. I have a newer machine running Windows 7 with ISE WebPACK 14.7. Again, the drivers seem to install witouth a problem, but the light remains off. Here is the log when I attempt to connect to the cable:

  • Platform Cable USB II Stopped Working

    Hi all,
I have successfully been using the Platform Cable USB II to program a Spartan 6 for around 6 month.  Today I tried to load a new program and I could not connect to the cable.  See below for the message iMPACT gives me.  When I came in to use ISE and iMPACT today ISE said my license was no longer valid; I pointed ISE to the license file I had always been using (located in C:\Xilinx) and ISE stopped complaining.  AS far as know nothing else in my system has changed since the last time I programmed the Spartan 6.  The Platform cable light is green and Windows recognizes the cable just fine.  I am using Windows 7 and ISE 13.4 (nt64).  I have checked other posts and it seems this is not a new issue, but I was unable to fix the problem by following any of those suggestions.  Please help!  Thanks,
    Aaron

  • Cisco881W poe status light always on even not connected any devices.

I noticed yestedday, the poe status lights on front is stay on even not connected any devices on port 0 and 1. Is this the normal ?
    Thank you,

So, I had my laptop sent to an "authorised HP service" in my country, and it came back with more problems than before.
So, let me tell you my story :
I've sent my laptop to System Plus ( http://www.system-plus.ro/ ) where the result of the diagnostics was the following:
    - deffective motherboard ( p/n: 651358-001 )
    - power on/off button ( p/n: 651360-001) - and I have to admit that I didn't had any problem with this one
    - latch cover
"Rezultat diagnoza:     = MB defect- led pw ramane aprins. Ajustat clema cover; inlocuit MB, constatat led power button defect /02dec13"
In translation: Diagnosis result: = MB fault pw LED remains lit. Adjusted latch cover, replaced MB, found faulty power LED button / 02dec13
The parts replaced were the following:
    - motherboard
    - card reader
"Operatiuni efectuate:    = Inlocuit MB+card reader"
In translation: "Operations performed: = Replaced MB + card reader"
So, in the end I took my laptop back from System Plus and fount out that it has more problems than before.
Power LED is still ON, even though I was told that they've tried with two NEW motherboards and still had this issue, a thing which I really don't believe.
The white led on the Power ON/OFF switch that worked before sending it for repairs, now doesn't work anymore, although in the service papers they say that the power on/off button was replaced
Now the laptop OVERHEATS, in idle mode it reaches aprox 65 degrees ...
Please advise me on what to do next ... Now my machine is worser than it was before.
Hoping for a replacement from Hp ...

  • Apple TV v2 functioning fine, but status light permanently off

I have a v2 Apple TV, and everything seems to be working fine... but my status light is now permanently off.
I have tried disconnecting the power and HDMI cable, and experienced the issue with both Apple TV 4.1 and the newly released 4.2.
Anyone else have this issue, or know of a solution?
    Kevin

I'm having the same issue on a brand-new Apple TV 3 that I received this morning. Everything seems to work fine (other than some home sharing issues that I wouldn't think have any relation), but there has not been a light.
You guys are also the first people I've found who had the same issue, even if it was from the ATV 2 and not 3. If anyone found/finds a fix, please let me know.

  • Time Capsule Status light is off

Why is the Time Capsule Status light off even though it is plugged in? The disc is spinning but it is not found in Airport Utility.

You have a Gen4 (look on the base A1409) that has committed ritual suicide..
Leave it unpowered for 12 hours.. then plug in again.. does the LED flash at all at start up.. LEDs on the ethernet ports.. no flash then no recovery.
It is now dead. At least the main router part is. The disk spinning shows it is not a failed power supply.. unfortunately I cannot even offer you a repair method. I did get one that failed that way.. pulled it apart and checked all the power supplies inside.. nothing was bad.. put it back to together and it started working again.. I do not know why but it has been reliable and working ever since. I do not therefore know what was actually the fault.
All I can suggest is the same treatment.. you have to pull it down and actually lift the board out.. ensure all the heat sink sticky tabs are connected and put it back together.. who knows.
You can at least recover what is on the hard disk if you need to, by putting the hard disk in a USB holder and plugging it into your computer.
If it is less than 3years old and you have applecare on a computer, you bought within 2years of the purchasing the TC.. apple may replace it.. check the rules as they are complex and convoluted.

  • Apple TV loses picture output and status light flashes rapidly after 5 minutes hooked up via HDMI - DVI cable

Apple TV connected to a 2005 50" plasma monitor with DVI input via belekin HDMI to DVI cable.  Unit worked perfectly long enough to get it connected to the wireless network and begin the itunes registration process when there was a loss of signal message on the screen from the monitor and the Apple TV status light flashed rapidly and continuously. Reset and reboot yeilded flashing rapid status light and no output detected from the monitor.  I contacted support online and was told to return the unit to the apple store.  I returned home with another brand new apple tv and connected it in the same manner with exactly the same results.  Is there something with the HDMI - DVI interface that is causing this?  Are there known issues with the HDMI - DVI connection to Apple TV with older plasma monitors?

The Apple TV doesn't actually support DVI. Some have managed to get it to work others have had varying issues with it.

  • Mac Pro 3.1 status light is always on

    Hello
    I have a Mac Pro 3.1
Since last week I have a problem, and could't yet found the solution. Sometimes (most of the times, actually) the Mac Pro doesn't boot and just stops after the chime (just as it was powered off). But what I found strange is that the white status light is always on (not blinking, always on) from the moment I connect the power strip.
I've run multiple times the Apple Service Diagnostic tests (running then again at this moment) and there´s absolutely no error reported.
I've changed memory, video card slot position, everything I could think off, but still haven't found a solution.
    Thank you for your help

I will try the UPS as soon as I can get one working (it seems my trusted Ellipse Max 1500 isn't working anymore). But how can it explain the fact that the light always stays on?
Another thing. In one of the last reboots to seemed that the Mac Pro couldn't find the startup disk. Past the chine nothing happened. After I started again with the alt key pressed and chooses the correct disk it appears to be working (the light problem keeps the same).
So, maybe there's a problem with the SMC, could it be? Yes, I did the SMS (and PRAM) reset, but the problem keeps the same

after finish installing an update, the the status light keeps blinking and a picture of the connection between the micro USB and iTunes shows up - what is this about?

The update failed - using a USB to microUSB lead (that Apple annoyingly don't include!), try to restore the AppleTV software to current version software using instructions here:

Pay attention to differences in power connection depending on whether or not you have AppleTV2 or AppleTV 3.

  • Powerbook Status light on Latch ALWAYS on

As the Subject suggests, my Powerbook 15" 1.67ghz latch status light is always on. Even as i type, the light is telling me it is 'asleep'.
I have reset PMU, PRAM, disk permissions, reboot, etc etc.
Any ideas? its driving me up the wall.
my ipod dosent mount anymore either...

    Hi Ben --
For several months, I have had the same problem as you describe. It started (and sometimes resumes) being just a flickering sleep light, then it morphs into a sleep light that's always on, sometimes it's off as it should be.
I don't know of any quick fix, as I think the problem lies in a loose or shorted wire or connection that need to be repaired (when I can afford the down time) from the inside.
I don't think that your iPod problem is related. If you want more help with your iPod, try posting more details about the problem and what steps you've tried to correct it in the iPod Forums here: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=146 Just pick the forum for our particular model iPod and post away.
FInally, whatever you do, make sure you're making regular back-ups of your critical data to some safe media (external HD, cd/dvd, etc.) You don't want to be caught unprepared in the event that your sleep light problem turns out to portend more serious problems. Also, it's SOP to make a backup of your HD before sending your PB in for any repair.

  • Connecting an USB drive is causing the status light to turn yellow on 2013 Airport Extreme

I recently purchased a new Airport Extreme ac to improve wifi performance in my house. It has been working fine. Today I decided that I would try to connect one of my USB backup drives to the Airport Extreme. As soon as it is connected, the status light goes yellow.
