  • XL-Reporter 2005 PL29 - Office 2007

    Hi fellows,
    I read many postings in this forum which stated that XLR 2005 PL29 does NOT run with MS Excel 2007.
    In the posting <XL Reporter with Office 7> by Irina Stanca from Sep. 9. 2007 I found a reply from Mr. Owen Slater which stated that XLR PL29 DOES RUN with MS Excel 2007.
    I myself WAS NOT ABLE to install XLR 2005 PL29 with MS Excel 2007 (based on SAP 2005A SP01 PL26)! The error message was <Excel has to be installed. Cannot find Excel.>
    At SAP I only could find contradicting information:
    1. On the XLR information page: ... XL Reporter currently supports Office 2007 only within the SAP Business One 2005 track.
    2. On the download/update page for XLR PL29: XL Reporter currently supports only Office 2003.
    Is there any common understanding if or if not XLR is running with Excel 2007?
    Maybe there are special settings you have to obey when installing XLR with Excel 2007?
    Thank you for any help!

    Frank Romeni

    Btw, you must explain here whether you are using SP00 or SP01 of SAP B1 2005A. The standard and professional edition of MS.office 2007 are compatible or match with XL reporter requirement.

  • Expoer of web reports to excel(office 2007)

    Hi gurus,
    for export of webreports to excel (office 2007) the german characters correctly assumed why
    i wil great appreciate to you giving your immediate response.

    Hi,
    I received a response from Metalink. We are using an old version of Discoverer (10.1.2.48.18) and need to install patches to fix different excel bugs that were identified.
    Our DBA is out right now so I am not sure when that will be done. In either case, it seems that is the problem. I will, of course, test the issue whenever the patches are installed.
    Thank you.

    The Report Generation Toolkit does probably not support Office 2007 yet. This is because the Office ActiveX interface used to change with each version and the Report Generation Toolkit comes with specific libraries for each of the Office versions it supports. With the wrong office version the Report Generation Toolkit VIs are normally broken and can't run without some more or less involved modifications.

  • Does the Report Generation Toolkit support Office 2007?

    With the hot-out-of-the-oven Office 2007, Microsoft has done a complete overhaul of the Office environment that we all have spent many years learning to perfection (well.. almost). Lucky those who got a head start as part of the Office Beta program.
    Well, NI claims that the current version of the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit supports "Microsoft Office 2000 (Word, Excel, and Graph) or later" and therefore literally also the new Office 2007.
    I doubt that the ActiveX API has remained unchanged when developing Office 2007, so let's use this thread to uncover the experience you have with calling Office 2007 applications using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit.
    Anyone???
    - Philip Courtois, Thinkbot Solutions

    We are currently working on a maintenance release for the Report Generation Toolkit to support Office 2007.  You can install the current toolkit with Office 2007, but you will have some problems.  If you copy the four LLBs from the Compatibility\Office 2003\vi.lib\addons\_office folder on your Report Generation Toolkit CD to the corresponding vi.lib\addons\_office location in your LabVIEW folder after installing the toolkit, things will work for the most part.  But you won't have 100% compatibility until the maintenance release is done.

  • XL Reporter not working for MS Office 2007

    Hi
    We have SAP B1-2005 with (PL35, XL Reporter 6.80.01), after installing XL Reporter we got the error as Microsoft Excel is required but not installed, for which we had browsed the forums and got the below said solutions
    1. Uninstall XLR completely.
    2. in SQL Server Studio Management, delete IX MetaDB database
    3. Uninstall Office 2007
    4. Install Office 2007
    5. Open SAP Business One and install XL Reporter.
    After doing the above said process we are still getting the same error.
    Please help us to resolve.

    There is no problem running XLR with MS Office 2007.
    There is only one exception: XLR does not run with MS Office 2007 in the Small Business Edition!
    To handle the security problems you have: You have to allow macros in Excel, since a great part of XLR is realized as macros in Excel. And perhaps you have to set the security in Excel to a less secury level than you have.
    Sorry, but currently I can't tell you the exact security settings in MS Excel 2007  I use to run XLR. Since they differ from the settings in MS Excel 2003 and the machine I have installed MS Officew 2007 is crashed.
    To solve your problems maybe you should set the security to the lowest level. If XLR is running set the security stepwise to a higher level until there arise problems. This is just an idea, since I can't tell you the exact settings.
    Hope it helps!

  • Problems with Downloading BI Reports to Excel  in Office 2007

    Hi,
    I've created reports using the BI Publisher plugin for Word 2007 and deployed these through Apex. Users that have Office 2003 installed get to download the file without any compatibility issues. Those users on Office 2007 get a warning as follows:
    "The file you are trying to open. 'filename.xls' , is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? "
    The file will open and save, it's just annoying getting this message each time. There aren't any problems when downloading the report in other formats.

    This is a known issue.. It is a "Fix" from Microsoft, to make sure folks know that the file is NOT a true Blue XLS style file.. My office just went through this and it can be adjusted, but involves a registry setting that they DID NOT want to impliment..

  • Report alignment and header not proper while modifying using MS Office 2007

    We have an RTF template designed using old MS Office version (1997 - 2003).
    Wehn we save the document after making any change using MS Office 2007, the alignment is changed in the merged PDF output (esp. table cell border hiding / displaying).
    Moreover, the data in page header (data from XML) is not appearing.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Kumar
    If I understand you correctly, I think the the following should work:
    I Assume text-006 = 'fiscal year :'
    CONCATENATE text-006 p_gjahr INTO ls_line-info SEPARATED BY space.
    APPEND ls_line-info TO lt_top_of_page.
    NB space will put a space between the variables being concatenated but you can use any variable in there eg for a comma separated list etc.
    Hope that helps.
    Andy
    Message was edited by: Andrew Wright
    In addition to this rather than trying to use offsets to position the text within the variable, you could use the SHIFT command as follows:
    SHIFT ls_line-info RIGHT DELETING TRAILING space.
    If you insert this between the CONCATENATE and APPEND statements above it should right-justify the text within the ls_line variable.
    Kind regards
    Andy

  • Problems with MS Office 2007 and Tiger Server

    I have an Xserve hosting file services for Macs and PCs. There is a RAID attached to the Xserve storing user data and ACLs are enabled. Since installing Office 2007 on the PCs there's been the following problem which can be replicated -
    When saving an Excel or Word document back in the 2007 suite to the Xserve, the user will be unable to save the document if it is saved back for the third time. In Excel 'Unable to save document is reported'. In Word the document can't be saved due to a network error or a file permision problem being reported.
    The above is true for existing documents created in Excel or Word 2003, then saved in 2007 versions, which are on the Server, or for documents created using Excel or Word 2007.
    Users are logging on with different user accounts. They first log on to a Windows domain hosted by a Small Business Server then a drive has been mapped on their PC, to give thme access to the Xserve.
    As I said things were OK until Office 2007 was installed on the PCs.

    I'm having the same issue, allowing guest access on the share did change the logs I'm getting in Samba. Earlier on it was giving errors on the inability of guest access to the share.

  • Office 2007 XLSX Support

    hi,
    I am looking for a solution that can help me in some standard way to support xlsx support to my ECC6 EHP 4 System.
    I want if alv is exported ( any alv report program) in excel it should generate xlsx file Office 2007 standard xlsx file to save.
    I am also looking of any class / object / functions that I can use to generate xlsx file from my custom program and send as email or do a GUI_Download.
    I know I cannot ask too many questions on single thread, but my requirement is to have a standard solution that supports 2007 office excel file format in download/ upload by default.
    I found an OSS not also that refer to same requirement but I want you advice that does it solve my purpose fully.
    OSS note: 1286768
    Thanks
    Anand

    Hi,
    ALV export to XLSX format can be achieved using CL_SALV_TABLE and CL_BCS, This works with   ECC6  EHP5, not sure about EHP 4.
    See the following code snippet to send email as XLSX attachement.
    types:
         begin of lty_alv,
         end of lty_alv.
    data: lt_alv type standard table of  lty_alv.
    data: lo_salv_table type ref to cl_salv_table.
    select ... into table lt_alv .....................
    cl_salv_table=>factory(
               IMPORTING r_salv_table = lo_salv_table
               CHANGING t_table = lt_alv ).
    * Generate XLSX format & send email
         DATA: lo_bcs TYPE REF TO cl_bcs,
               lo_document TYPE REF TO cl_document_bcs,
               lo_distrlist_bcs TYPE REF TO cl_distributionlist_bcs.
         DATA: lv_xml TYPE xstring,
               lt_stream TYPE solix_tab.
         DATA lv_msg TYPE string.
         "Get XML output in Excel xml format
          lv_xml = lo_salv_table->to_xml(
                        xml_type    = if_salv_bs_xml=>c_type_excel_xml
                        xml_flavour = if_salv_bs_c_tt=>c_tt_xml_flavour_full  ).
         lt_stream = cl_bcs_convert=>xstring_to_solix( iv_xstring = lv_xml ).
          lv_msg = 'Mail body text goes here'.
         lo_document = cl_document_bcs=>create_document(
                               i_type = 'RAW'
                               i_text = cl_bcs_convert=>string_to_soli( iv_string = lv_msg )
                               i_subject = 'Mail Subject goes here' ).
          lo_document->add_attachment( i_attachment_type = 'RAW'  "XLS also can be used
                             i_attachment_subject = 'file_name.xlsx'
                             i_att_content_hex = lt_stream ).
          lo_bcs = cl_bcs=>create_persistent( ).
          lo_bcs->set_document( lo_document ).
          lo_bcs->set_sender( i_sender = cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address( 'sender email id' ) ). "cl_sapuser_bcs=>create( sy-uname )
          lo_distrlist_bcs = cl_distributionlist_bcs=>getu_persistent( i_dliname = 'Distribution list name'           i_private = abap_false ). "Or use create internet address as above
          lo_bcs->add_recipient( i_recipient = lo_distrlist_bcs ).
          lo_bcs->set_send_immediately( abap_true ).
          lo_bcs->send_request->set_link_to_outbox( abap_true ).
          lo_bcs->send( ).
          commit work.
    Disadvantage of this method: if mail is opened within SAP Business workplace, it does not identify the file type as it support only 3 character identity as of now. External email clients can open the attachement properly. If you want to open the attachement within SAP, change attachement type to 'XLS' and remove the file extension from file name.
    Thanks,
    Shajahan

  • Win 7 "Default Programs" does not include MS Office 2007 Programs, the missing Programs are missing ICONs as well

    I installed Windows 7 in an upgrade from Windows XP.  As part of the process MS gave me a URL to download a Office 2007 Pro I could activate with the license key I owned.  I got similar URLs for Visio Professional and Project Professional.
    Downloaded, installed, activated, started the programs.
    From the beginning some of the icons were missing.  Like the icons for Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher, Visio, and of course Project.  I tried most of the answers in this forum, that didn't sound like guesswork, and none of
    them solved either problem.  There must be at least 65 guesses to fix the icon problem, but none with the missing Default Programs problem.
    The programs related to the missing "Default Programs" still work, they startup when you select the related document.  If I check "Associate a File Type or Protocol with a Specific Program" the missing Office 2007 programs are listed
    there, associated with the designated programs, but are missing icons.
    I make it a habit not to pay a vendor for a product so that I can have the privilege of fixing the vendor's problems.   Google tells me these are well known problems.  The only thing missing is the answer.  I won't ever use MS chat or telephone,
    because all they do is tell me why they can't help and transfer me elsewhere.
    Does anyone have a REAL answer please?

    To restore office icons you could try this method
    http://transitionmarketing.wordpress.com/2013/01/16/restoring-microsoft-office-icons/
    I had the same problem with Office 2010 programs not showing in "Set Your Default Programs". No other "fixes" (including repair) worked. Found this thread:
    http://www.sevenforums.com/microsoft-office/222503-office-2010-not-listed-default-programs.html
    and used it as a guide. When you look at this key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegisteredApplications
    you will see a list of software pointing to another HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry key. For example, my Word program was showing up as "Word.Application.14" and pointing to Software\Clients\Word Processing\Microsoft Word\Capabilities
    (In contrast, PastorMike's fix in the link above advocates making a new entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Capabilities. However, OneNote did appear in my "Set Your Default Programs" and it - and the other Office programs
    - were listed under ..\Software\Clients\... and not ...\Software\Microsoft\...)
    So at this point I went my own way (although maybe PastorMike's fix would also work).
    The difference between OneNote and the other programs was the existence of values for "ApplicationName"  and "ApplicationDescription" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Word Processing\Microsoft Word\Capabilities. Also, for OneNote
    there was a "FileAssociations" sub-key that was missing from the other programs.
    It is setting the values for ApplicationName and ApplicationDescription which cause the program to show up in the list in the left pane of "Set Your Default Programs". And it is the file associations in the FileAssociations key that allows resetting
    associations en masse when they are snaffled by another program.
    Below is the reg file I added for Word 2010. (i used similar for the other programs) After doing this, Word appeared after reopening "Set Default Programs" - no reboot required
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Word Processing\Microsoft Word\Capabilities]
    "ApplicationDescription"="Create and edit professional-looking documents such as letters, papers, reports, and booklets by using Microsoft Word."
    "ApplicationName"="Microsoft Word 2010"
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Word Processing\Microsoft Word\Capabilities\FileAssociations]
    ".doc"="Word.Document.8"
    ".dochtml"="wordhtmlfile"
    ".docm"="Word.DocumentMacroEnabled.12"
    ".docmhtml"="wordmhtmlfile"
    ".docx"="Word.Document.12"
    ".docxml"="wordxmlfile"
    ".dot"="Word.Template.8"
    ".dothtml"="wordhtmltemplate"
    ".dotm"="Word.TemplateMacroEnabled.12"
    ".dotx"="Word.Template.12"
    ".htm"="wordhtmlfile"
    ".html"="wordhtmlfile"
    ".odt"="Word.OpenDocumentText.12"
    ".rtf"="Word.RTF.8"
    ".wbk"="Word.Backup.8"
    ".wiz"="Word.Wizard.8"
    ".wll"="Word.Addin.8"
    By using my ramblings and the link provided above you may be able fix the problem you are having with Office 2007. However, I am unsure of how to find the necessary file associations for Office 2007 except by trawling through your registry for the filetypes
    listed in the link above and the values for them in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

  • Adobe Reader 9.x crashes when opening PDF's created using Office 2007

    I work on the helpdesk side for a big corporation and many of our users are reporting that when they try to open a PDF, it locks up their Internet Explorer or Reader 9.x
    We noticed that the problems were only caused by PDFs that were presentations created in PowerPoint, then saved as a PDF with the Office 2007 Save as PDF plugin. So what we did was engaged an engineer at Microsoft to look into the issue.  They did a lot of troubleshooting and narrowed it down.
    They think that if the presentation was created using PP 2003 then opened in PP 2007 then saved as a PDF then this causes AR 9.x to crash.  So what they did was remove the slide number, and added a new slide number using PP 2007, save it as a PDF then it opens in AR 9.x
    All other versions of AR can open the PDF under the same scenario.
    Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks

    It's almost identical to what you posted. I think the difference was that I was trying on a machine with complete install of Acrobat which has the font packs and hence there was no hang/crash. Your file doesn't hang on that machine either.
    If you look at the fonts panel in your document: File>Properties>Fonts, you'll notice that it uses MS-PGothic font which is a Japanese fonts, and hence the Japanese font pack might fix this.
    Also, since you mentioned ACE.dll, the other possibility might be that there are conflicting DLLs on the system, commonly referred to as DLL Hell. Another thing to try would be to search the system for ACE.dll and see which all software install it.
