XSLT page refresh issue on updating xml

hi,
my application involves rendering of xml through XSLT on ah HTML page.
i am using XMLTransformer in servlet i.e.
transformer.transform( new StreamSource(tempXmlFile),
new StreamResult(outputHtmlFile));
response.sendRedirect(request.getContextPath() + "/logDetailXsl.html");
and then i redirect the servlet to html page where html page is built through xslt therefore no meta tags or scriplets can be made.
problem is that html page is not updated. i have used javascript for refresh but it doesnot work either.
i m new using xslt so can not identify if the problem is with xslt or html page!
pointers appreciated!

Hi John,
I think you'll need to create two dynamic actions. One of type PL/SQL block with null; as the source and enter the items to submit. The second is the Refresh Region Dynamic Action..

Std Page refresh issue

Hi,
On a standard page, I have added a column of itemtype link to a table through personalization, which shows status.
On click of link, I'm calling a custom read only page (has its own custom AM and VO) in a new window. Its a simple readonly table with data from custom VO.
Problem is after clicking on the link and new window opens, if i do any action on standard page, control goes to standard process request and std page gets refreshed.
How can i avoid this, i dont want std page to be refreshed.
In personalization, i have given link item's destination uri as
OA.jsp?page=/xxx/oracle/apps/ar/irec/accountDetails/webui/xxstatusHistPG&invNum={@TrxNumber}&retainAM=Y
I tried retainAM=N as well as removing that parameter but still same issue.

There is partial page refresh on std page, in extended CO PR, I have added event on column amount (to do validation on tab out)
as well as on select check box (it defaults rem amount into pay amount). For link, I'm opening new page by setting destination URL property in link item properties.

I tried the approach you suggested. Based on session parameter, Im controlling the code in std extended CO PR.
It worked, I mean at least it doesn't error out now like before with navigation error. However it refreshes the page as control went to PR.
I entered some amount in amount text field, and then clicked on "partially paid' link. it opens a custom page in new window.
after that if i select any other record using check box, it goes to PR and refreshes the page. Is it possible to avoid this.

Its a payment screen, where i can pay multiple invoices. added select check box for the same. added below code on check box to capture event in PFR and default remaining amt to pay amount text field. i also have payment status link as column in the same table. on click of it i open a new custom window to show transaction details.
if i select some invoices and modify amounts, and then if i click on status link just to see the status before clicking on pay button, this issue happens. as page refreshes on any action, all my modifications are gone.
Select checkbox has been added using personlization and hence has to set set fire action in PR.

Page Refresh Issue in JSF

Here's the "setup" :-
Page Refresh in JSF Application
When a user hits refresh, the behavior is different depending on if the current page was loaded via GET(outputLink) or POST(commandLink/commandButton).
If a GET, the browser simply re-asks for the page re-using the current URL.
But If a POST, the user is asked, usually, if they want to re-submit their data to the server.
The resubmitting of data happens for the last request generated by the POST method (correct me if i am wrong here)
How can one avoid doing this?

I googled out, only to come across words like "jsf redirect tag"
I tried putting it in my navigational rule, only to get the error "Page could not be found. Internal Server Error 500"
Could i get my hands on "the prestige" ?

Browser Push Web Page Refresh Issue

When we are viewing a pushed web page on our BB 8830 device and that page is refreshed in the background by a seamless push content action from the BES the currently displayed page does Not refresh to display the updated content. This is the problem. We have to exit the web page and re-open the page again in order to view the updates. This behavior is quite different from other push enabled applications on the BB 8830 device, for example the Outlook application that one does not have to exit in order to see new items dynamically appearing in the displayed list of items. Are there any options to enable the automatic refresh of the currently visible web page? We have enabled JavaScript and all other browser options.

HTTPService not reading updated xml, i've been having to refresh the xml in my browser manually

I am calling an HTTPService (id=data2php) which runs a php
script which creates an xml doc and puts it on my server. i then
call another HTTPService (id=feedRequest) which reads the xml doc.
i then try to populate a datagrid with the lastResult of my
HTTPService that reads the xml doc. My issue is that that the
HTTPService which reads the xml doc reads the previous incarnation
of the xml doc, not the newly created one that my HTTPService
(data2php) created. i've been manually going to the xml doc in my
browser and hitting refresh for my feedRequest HTTPService to read
the updated xml.
here is the mxml for the httpservice that reads the xml:

pretty straight forward.
(actually, once in a while it will read the updated

Instead of binding to the lastResult property, I would
explicitly handle the result and fault events of the HTTPService
(the one that reads the newly created xml doc) and then manually
update an XMLListCollection for use as the datagrid's dp. That way,
you can at least walk through the debugger and see what's going on,
and force the second HTTPService to read only when you're sure the
newly created doc is ready.
Since you said it works sometimes and not other times, it
sounds like it's just a timing problem, sometimes the xml doc is
created quickly enough that the HTTPService grabs the new xml doc,
but if not, it's grabbing the old one. That would be my
guess.

Urgent Issue: Error Mapping Existing Forms to manually updated XML

We are working on pretty complex InfoPath form which contains 150+ fields. Based on new requirements, we added few sections containing
repeating tables with default data of multiple rows (using default values feature). To make sure that existing forms get these repeating table values correctly we wrote a PowerShell script to update the existing forms (xml files) directly.
This is done so that when an existing form is opened data should get properly mapped. But unfortunately only few repeating tables are showing the correct data and other repeating tables are showing only first record multiple times. This is working for new
forms exactly the way we expect.
We tried to download the xml file and updating the changed xml section from new form xml but it still does not work and shows the same issue. But when we open the existing
form, save it, download it and then change the xml with xml from new form, it works. Somehow when we open existing forms, the mapping is not correct.
Please guide me on this issue. Appreciate your help.

The problem is very well clear, but in order to suggest in your solution I recommend to post the code you used in PowerShell to update xml, any XSLT customization, custom code related to the repeating table you have implemented etc.

Update report dynamically? (without page refresh)

I have a page with several regions, and only one region is visible at a time. Each region contains a report as well as a drop-down to alter the data displayed in the report. Currently each time a drop-down value is changed it submits the page, which causes the "main region" to become visible since it is set by default to display first.
Is there a basic tutorial I can follow on how to dynamically update the report output without a page refresh?

h4. When

Region: <region to be refreshed>
Ensure that the value of the associated select list is submitted into session state before the refresh by specifying it in Page Items to Submit in the Source section of the report region definition.
There are some dynamic action tutorials on the Oracle Learning Library. Doesn't specifically mention Refresh in the abstract, so it may not cover this specifically, but it is an introduction to dynamic actions in general.
(It's probably possible to create a single dynamic action to handle refreshing all of the regions: we'd need more comprehensive details of your application, preferably reproducing it or a simplified version on apex.oracle.com.)

I think you identified my mistake. I confused tables-charts-graphs. I was wanting a "table" of cells (numbers) to be added to the Pages document. Is there no way to do that and keep the tables linked between Numbers09 and Pages09?
An example would be a Numbers spreadsheet calculating a number (say, a product price) and that number (data) be linked to a product information text in Pages.
I just recently saw the Merge function in Pages, but have not yet learned how that works. I don't use Pages much at all but it would come in handy for creating to information sheets about products --- with the product pricing being updated from a Numbers spreadsheet.
If you have any hints on how that can be done or where I can find info on that I would appreciate it.

I did the update to 3.6.11 - when it restarted it will not open any pages. When i go to check for updates it gives me this error: Update XML file malformed (200) - Any advice?

I did the update to 3.6.11 - After it started Firefox it would go to the requested site in the addressbar, but the page would be blank. I went to check for updates and it told me there was a problem in updating. It gave me this error message: Update XML file malformed (200)
I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same problem exists.
Any advice?

Oracle 11g OMS: Database Instance Home Tab: Page Refreshed Timezone Issue

Hi all...I've searched the forums and search engines for specific information on this issue, but have not seen a viable solution so far. We have Oracle 11g Grid Control 11.1.0.1
installed on a Solaris V490 using Solaris 10, with an Oracle 11.2.0.1 database.
The Database instance Home tab for all 50+ databases shows the date and time of the 'Page Refreshed' in GMT. The OS and the Agent software both are configured
with the TZ set to US/Eastern. All other page displays e.g. Performance, Availability for Data Guard Standby etc. all show the refreshed time in EDT, it is ONLY
the Home tab for the instance that has the GMT format.
I have not seen any threads or other information that describes specifically how to correct this or even to change it. There are many related posts about the Agent
end.properties, the OS /etc/timezone configuration parameters, the TZ environment variable etc. but in my case they are all set properly.
Does anyone have any additional ideas or suggestions or knowledge about how , or even whether, this can be resolved?

ORA-01034: ORACLE not availableNo big surprise there, instance (that you're trying to connect with) is offline.
First, make sure the service OracleServiceXE for the database is running, see the services applet, Start/Run/services.msc and if it does not show "Started" hit the Start button with the OracleServiceXE selected.
sqlplus sys/admin@XE as sysdbaThat connection attempt uses sqlnet to the XE tnsalias. If you're on the database host the ...@XE part is not needed, better to use:
$ sqlplus /nolog
connect /as sysdba;

...That also assumes the environment/registry entries have been configured correctly.
tnsping XE ... Attempting to contact [tnsalias connect details] ... OK (10 msec)That tells you the listener is running. It does not mean anything more than your listener is running at the host and port specified for your tnsalias are correct. It does not attempt an actual database connection. So if the database is offline but the listener is running a tnsping will not identify that particuler "problem".
lsnrctl status ... Endpoints Summary ... PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=chilakamarthy)(PORT=1521)))...That bit of info also verifies the listener is running. Again, check your services.msc applet make sure the service shows Started.

Updating template based XSLT page

I have the following setup: a template and a few HTML pages
based on it plus a few XSLT(.xsl) pages based on that template.
Whenever I change the template, the HTML pages are automatically
updated, but not the XSLT ones, even tough they appear in the list
from the "update pages" dialog. If I load the XSLT page and choose
from the menu Modify>Templates>Update Current Page, the page
gets updated. If I choose Modify>Templates>Update Pages, it
doesn't work.
This is happening only in Dreamweaver CS4, it was working in
CS3.
Recreating site cache doesn't solve the problem.
Is there any option to enable so that all the pages based on
a template (not only the HTML ones gets updated?

Here's my stock answer for this question -
Here are seven common mistakes that will result in changes not propagating from Template to child -
1. Rename the Templates folder
2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in the site other than root level
3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
4. Make changes to an editable region of the Template (which will not propagate)
5. Assume that Template changes will be effected by just uploading the changed Template file to the server without also uploading the changed local files
6. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between Template and child page is broken
7. Improperly create your child pages by simply opening the Template, adding page specific content, and resaving the Template with an *.html extension rather thanits *.dwt extension. (you can tell if this is the case by looking at the code on a child page - if you see anything like <!-- TemplateBeginEditable... then this is what you have done). If you *have done this*, then recreate the child pages (in DW) using FILE | New > Page from Template, select the Template and click CREATE.
The 6th problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced > Recreate Site Cache, and the six others can be fixed by just not doing them. Have you done any of those?

Error importing sample/update.xml when upgrading IDM5.0 to IDM5.0 SP4

Hellos,
I fail to upgrade to SP4 on the last step, importing the update.xml file.
The Browser window has in red text:
"An error occurred importing the file, although some of the file data may have been processed. ==> com.waveset.util.InternalError: Class com.waveset.view.ViewUpdater not found."
I see in a text box many lines.. refreshing 0 of 2 etc..
last line says Found no instances of AdminRole, not suprising as it a first time install.
My system is Solaris 9 with MySQL 4.0.24 as repository (need 4.0.24 as we MUST HAVE EXTENDED ASCII CHARACTER SUPPORT, 4.1.x is no good) and SunApplicationServer8 as AS.
The IDM5.0 install and deploy was fine. The upgrade was going fine too until last step.
I upgrade by following the steps in IDM5.0_SP4_REAME.pdf.
What is unclear is whether with Sun AS8 I need to undeploy idm and rebuild idm.war after installing the SP4. The instructions assume we all use tomcat and windows.
I simply ran ./install, started the AS and tried to import
sample/upgrade.xml. I did NOT undeploy idm, jar it up again and redeploy it.
Anyways.. what I guess my IDM is now FUBR any hints how to recover?

I prefer to perform manual upgrades in which there is a staging directory (see the installation document) where you unjar the idm.war and make all the necessary changes and then jar it and redeploy. I have uses the same process for successful upgrade for WebsphereAS 5.0 and it worked great. I have heard others talking about similar issues because it seems the jar files are not upgraded in the process that you have used.

Calendar Refresh Issues

Here's a strange refresh issue with the Apex Calendar. None of the built-in buttons (Monthly, Weekly, Daily, Previous, or Next) are refreshing the calendar with any entries at all when I first load the page. The grid and labels will be updated correctly but the data is not there.
The weird thing is that after a page refreshes, everything suddenly works. I've tried apex.widget.calendar.ajax_calendar('M','same'); etc to no avail. Any help on this would be most appreciated.
