XY Graph Zoom Mouse Wheel

I'm developping a very lightweight world map on XY graph. The attached VIs are LV8.0.
It almost works but I dont understand why it's not stable as you can notice by running worldmap.vi with zoom.vi as subvi. Your mouse wheel should zoom in, zoom out the graph's limits... I dont understand why it doesnt change X and Y ranges simultaneously... And the position of the mouse should stay on the same position of the world map, after zooming.
I realize that my comment is not really clear, you can try it and suggest what I should change, I'm using LV8.6, you dont have to spend time to save for LV8.0
Post question I should reply quickly.

Jimmy

The problem isn't with the notifier mechanism (although that code can be simplified). The problem is with the way you're calculating the new ranges and increments. When the calculations are done the proportions of the graph are not kept consistent, thereby causing a stretching of the "figure". Also, you are not putting a limit on the XScale.Increment and YScale.Increment such as when you hit the max/min scale ranges. This means that you can continue to "zoom out", with no chance in the scale, but the increment values keep increasing. This throws off the calculations when you try to "zoom back in".
My suggestion for using the picture indicator was not to try to draw 70,000 points. This would be way too slow. Rather, read in an image of the world to get drawn onto a picture indicator and then draw the axes over it. I don't know what your eventual goal is, so I don't know if this is a more suitable method.

  • When I want to zoom in or zoom out with the mouse wheel and CONTROL button the letters get larger but remain within the same size paragraph and any pictures remain the same. I want the entire page to zoom.

I want the entire page to zoom in and out when I use CONTROL + mouse wheel. Now the letters get larger but remain in the same size paragraph and also the pictures stay the same.

It is indeed scandalous that Apple sells useless scanned music scores. There is a warning when you chose to download music tabs or notes but it doesn't say that the score lines are very small and cannot be zoomed. I spent $30 on two books but cannot really use them on my MBA as you cannot zoom except for the double click which only works page per page and is only a small improvement.
The only way I can use the score more or less is on my ipad in landscape mode by increasing the font size to the max. The music score then becomes wider and you can read 2-3 lines per page without glasses.
If you could transfer the file to the pdf  "side" of the library in ibooks the zoom would work..
What does work is using the accessibility zoom mode option+command+= to zoom and then option+command+\ to smooth the picture but then your whole display desktop etc. are zoomed in.

  • Using mouse wheel to zoom and pan

I was wondering if there would be a way to make a javascript that would load at Photoshop's startup that would allow the user to zoom in and out using the mouse wheel (instead of using it for scrolling), and to use that same mouse wheel as a third button (when you push on the mouse wheel) or any third button on a three button mouse to pan in your image. I'm a 3ds max user and I love the way the navigation work in that software so it'd be great to be able to do that for Photoshop and Illustrator and get rid of those useless key shortcuts that we need to use to zoom and pan.
For the pan fonction, I guess if there was a way to simply say "when the third mouse button is pressed, press the space button, until the mouse button is released" it could work. But then it would force the panning to stop when the mouse goes offscreen, unlike in 3ds max where you can pan for whatever distance you want, even if you have the loop throught the screen ten times.
For the zoom function, if scolling up could simply "push" the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in/ zoom out it could work, but I don't know if that's possible. And then we'd have to disable the scrolling up and down in the document.
Anyways, if anyone has any ideas about that let me know! I've been looking for that for such a long time!

Not sure if I am misreading your post, but there is an option in the preferences that allows you to choose Zoom With Scroll Wheel. With this option active you hold the ALT key to scroll.
My Logitech mouse has a tilt wheel on it and this works fine in Photoshop. It doesn't loop through the screen but it does pan left and right with no problem. On this mouse the scroll wheel can also be pressed, and can be programmed to almost any key, I use for double click.
Forgive me if I've misunderstood your question.

  • Zooming using mouse wheel ?

I just upgraded from PSE 5 to 9.  One of the handy functions in PSE 5 was the use of the mouse wheel to zoom in or out of a picture that you're working on in the editing work space.  Now it seems I have to use the brackets or the awkward zoom tool.
Is there a way I can activate/modify something so I can zoom with the mouse wheel?  Thanks.
Also, the type on the pulldown menus is harder to read than in PSE 5 because the type is small and it's revered out of black.  I'm going to explore the workspace in PSE 8.  Maybe I upgraded too far.

Open a photo in "Full Photo Edit" mode.
Select Edit>Preferenes>General.  Check the box that says "Zoom with Scroll Wheel".

  • Using the mouse wheel to zoom in/out

Am I missing some preference setting? I use a mouse with a wheel/roller/scroll thingie in between the right and left buttons.
Why is it that in FCP if you are in the Timeline and you turn the wheel you go up or down the video or audio tracks, but in Soundtrack Pro if you turn the wheel you zoom in (expand the view). I like the zoom thing, but when I go back and forth between FCP and Soundtrack, it is annoying.
Besides the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the FCP timeline to zoom in and out and besides APPLE + or APPLE - , how else can one zoom in and out if the mouse wheel is not an option?

i prefer "option =" and "option -" as that always zooms in/out of the timeline regardless of the widow focus

  • SWF in iFrame - How to get mouse wheel to work

I have been searching for a solution to this for a few days
without any luck. I was hoping someone here may have come across
this problem and know of a solution, or know if it just is not
    possible.
I have a static page which consists of an iframe, picture and
a div with some links. The image is an image map and set to load
all links within the iframe. The flash itself is a 360 degree
panoramic view with hotspots (links) within the file that also
point to other pages. My issue is that the mouse wheel scroll is
supposed to be a zoom in/out feature, which work with the flash
file and full screen view. However, when the file is loaded within
the iframe, the scroll wheel on the mouse will only scroll the page
and will not interact with the flash file at all.
The problem seems to be with the following browsers (PC):
    Chrome 0.4
    Opera 9.5
    Firefox 3.0
The zoom works in IE6, although the page does scroll with it.
When I disabled the page from scrolling (see index2.html) the zoom
stops working. This is probably due to the code used to disable the
mouse. I really need to try to get the mouse wheel to zoom in
FireFox 3 though. The large majority of our visitors are PC users
with FireFox 3 or IE 7, so these are the two most important
    browsers to have working.
The pages are still currently under development but examples
    are online here:
    http://www.utoledo.edu/campus/virtualtour/maincampus/index.html
    -Normal page
    http://www.utoledo.edu/campus/virtualtour/maincampus/index2.html
    -Page with scrolling disabled
Does anyone have any ideas for a possible solution? Thanks
for taking the time to help.

As far as I know, there is no facility for detecting mouse scrolling wheel in JDK 1.3.
Check it in the later releases of JDK.

  • Is there a way to change my mouse wheel's funtion so it will scroll with out

I'm stuck in habit that's hard to get out of. I started editing in Vegas then moved to Premiere CS3.
I never use the mouse wheel to scroll frames. I wish it could just zoom in and out of the timeline like it did in Vegas without me having to push alt-scroll wheel.
I'm might be asking for a lot but is this possible? I just can't break my habit of using just the arrow keys when I want to scroll frame to frame. Even though the alt-scroll has 'clicked' in my brain there's that 10% hesitation. That I know would make me more comfortable.
Call me weird but is there a solution?

    Josh
Place the cursor over the Source or the Program Monitor and use the scroll wheel to scroll frames.
(Your post is not that clear whether you want to scroll frames or zoom the timeline as you mention both)

  • Mouse wheel to scroll

    Hi all!
Every time I open Adobe Reader XI, I want to use the scroll wheel of the mouse to scroll down the document. Instead, the mouse wheel zooms the current page.
Specifically, I set the zoom to "fit one full page at a time", and I want to quickly scroll through the pages. I could do that with the "next page" button or the arrows, but using the mouse wheel would be more convenient. So, can I do it? And how?

Maybe reserve the Shift modifier for this.
    *mousewheel.with_shift.action;<strike>2</strike> 1
    *mousewheel.with_shift.delta_multiplier_y;9999

  • Mouse wheel event coordinates issue in LV2013

I realized some unexpected behavior when using the mouse wheel event of an XYGraph:
The event contains the mouse coordinates which should be relative to the origin of the pane according to the LabVIEW help (see Mouse Wheel (Control Event)). In my case these coordinates are shifted. At the same time, the coordinates returned by the Mouse Move and Mouse Down events are correct. I think the Mouse Move, Mouse Down and Mouse Wheel Event coords should all be the same, i.e. relative to the owning pane's origin? The graph is in a window divided by splitters. I am using LabVIEW 2013 Professional Development System.

    Hi maxicon,
I tried to reproduce your described behavior - It works as expected (see the attached VI).
Please try to reproduce the issue again with the attached VI.
    1. Move the mouse and see coords changing.
    2. Operate the mouse wheel and see the coords are the same.
P.S. Zero-coordinates are marked in the frontpanel:

  • MapViewer mouse wheel support?

    Hi all,
I'd like to know whether MapViewer has javascript support for mouse wheel events. I would like to implement mouse wheel zooming however the api does not have an "onMouseWheel" event for a MVMapView component. Another way to do this would be to add mouse wheel support to the page, and then use "onMouseOver" and "onMouseOut" events to determine whether the cursor is over the map or not, however these events also don't seem to be supported. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

As it turns out their is inbuilt support for mouse wheel zooming but for some reason it doesn't appear to be included in the supplied java API documentation. This command is all that is required: mapview.setMouseWheelZoomEnabled(true)

  • Mouse wheel events are being caught by Photoshop document

    I'm using CSXSWindowedApplication.
If you create any document in Photoshop, then zoom into it, so it takes more space than visible screen area and then open a CS Extension panel - the mouse wheel event is being caught by Photoshop and when you're rolling it, Photoshop moves document up and down, instead. mouseWheel events don't reach neither WindowedApplication nor any control inside of it.
    This only happens in Photoshop.
    Are there any workarounds?
    Thank you!

Interesting. I've' not played with mouse wheel events. I'll have a look at it.
    Thanks

  • Mouse wheel events aren't caught in browser

    Hello.
I developed an applet with NetBeans 6.5 with mouse wheel zooming. In applet viewer everything works fine, but when I start applet in page in browser (I tried Firefox 3.0.6, MS IE 6.0, MS IE 7.0), no mouse wheel events (neither scrolling) are caught by applet.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

The reason behind this is: When applet is run on web browser, the applet window does not get focus. If you can grab the focus somehow, mouse wheel events will work fine. However, this works fine in applet viewer and in older versions of JDK. This is broken in JDK 1.6 and already fixed in JDK 1.7. Please have a look into this bug:

  • Mouse wheel usability

Is rubbish.  Cmon abode,  its not rocket science.  Or maybe I'm doing wrong -
Is there any other way to scroll audio and video layers other than with the scrollbar? If not here are some no brainer suggestions:
existing: scroll along timeline with mouse wheel. If you're at all zoomed in its far too slow, so
How about clicking on the mouse wheel and dragging left or right (like doing the same horizontally on a webpage) for quick timeline scrolling?
    Modifiers are your friend:
Shift scroll to actually scroll up and down layers (I would use this massively more than moving along timeline).
ad ctrl to the mix so that it speeds up scrolling or zooming:
ctrl-scroll 5 times as much movement along timeline
ctrl-alt-scroll 5 times as much zooming.
probably dont need ctrl-shift unless you have 30 layers, but should include it for consistency
Coming from photoshop I love modifiers, they speed up workflow massively. They allow you to stay focussed on what you're working on without taking your eye or mouse away to pallettes or scroll bars.  And there is another point.  Many people use lots of adobe applications.  They need to sit down with all the development teams and standardise some of these things.
Like finding an asset in explorer.  I do this a lot in bridge, dreamweaver, indesign, lightroom and I have to look for, to name a few
    Explore
    Reveal in explorer
    Show in explorer...
You might say these are little things, get over it.  I'd say these are little things, fix it.

    getho wrote:

I'm sorry, we categorically refute your suggestions if you spell our name wrong.
All kidding aside, I like the mouse wheel down (or middle button) acting as a hand scroll mode.  BTW, just in case, if you didn't know already, alt + mouse wheel performs zoom in/out around the cursor's position. (I personally wish this was the default, and the scroll horizontal/vertical was the alt option, but that's just me.)
Whatever you do, please make sure that you submit these here.
    Cheers
