Yamaha AC-XG Audio device Blocked

I have NO sound on my Toshiba 6100 Satellite Series laptop.  I used to have sound.  But then my IPOD NANO (4) crashed my laptop, and I had to get a new hard drive, but NOW a new message pops up every time I start the laptop -- refers to my Yamaha AC-XG Audio Device being DISABLED because it is known to have a problem with Windows.  Well it never had a problem with Windows before.  How do I get my sound back?  The ONLY difference now is that I have INTERNET EXPLORER 8.

Toshiba 6100 Satellite Series laptop.
Might it be this model?
Satellite Pro 6100
If so, the original driver for the Yamaha AC/XG sound chip does not work after you install a service pack to Windows XP.
Windows XP Service Pack 1 and 2 incompatible with existing Yamaha sound driver
You need to install this driver.

  • Yamaha XG-AC Audio device not working after SP2 for XP was installed

    Hi,
i'm new in this forum and maybe my question is a stupid one but i'm not able to solve this problem.
My Satellite 5200-801 doesn't make any sound after i've installed SP2 for XP. I tried to find a new driver for Yamaha XG-AC Audio Device( the one that doesn't work is 6.13.10.2152 (date 19/07/2002)but i was not able to find anything.
Please, could you help me ?
    Thanks
    Bruno

    Hi,
I found another posting in this forum about this issue!
Your Satellite 5200-802 has a sound chip called Yamaha YMF753 and it is built in different notebooks! This chip does make problems with Service Pack 2 because MS regards the Yamaha AC-XG sound driver as being unstable. When Service Pack 2 is installed, Windows will disable the sound driver.
Here are some links which could help you!

  • Yamaha AC-XG audio device error "code 10" on Satellite Pro 6100

    Please can someone help.
I am not getting any sound from my laptop.
In Device Manager and under the properties for the Yamaha AC-XG device it says it cannot start and quotes an error "Code 10".
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I still have the same problem.
Can anyone tell me what Code 10 is and how to fix the problem.
    Thanks

    Hi
Jimi is right. You have to update the Yamaha sound driver!
After a short investigation I found this site:

    Hey Marco,
This is a end-user-to-end-user support forum for the most part, I suggest you contact Apple via http://getsupport.apple.com or even http://www.apple.com/feedback to alert about your issue.

  • Pavillion g6-2212sa Windows 8 64 bit No Audio devices are installed

    Hi all,
I followed the steps under the HP support site to use the Windows troubleshooting guide to fix problems with the audio:
    http://i.imgur.com/p7BDHqX.png
I updated the driver to the latest driver, audio plays but there are no devices installed
    http://i.imgur.com/IWNVef0.png
Downgrading the driver to the older version doesn't fix the issue either.
I also used the HP recovery manager to ensure I had the original version installed.
I don't have a previous restore point to go back to.
I had BIOS version F.25, followed advice in this thread installed driver
sp55036.exe, and also flashed my bios back to f.22 (which was when around the time I purchased the laptop)
    Any advice/ help appreciated.
    This question was solved.

Hi, this is my first time here, so your feed back was great; however, I do not like and am trying to take a different route because refresh means my personal setting and other additional softwares that were installed will not existed.
Also, firewall blocks every software, update, or any devices that are needed to be updated, reinstalled, restored, etc.  I have been going through window/systems 32 or 64 and choose the right updating software.ex in order for my system to work.  Refresh will remove all that I had accumulated for softwares, devices, updates to work through firewall.
Do you have another solutions??  It is urgent because my audio device window 8 notebook pc is lost somewhere, and I am not ablbe to find location of the reinstalling audio device.
Look forward to hearing from you,

  • AverMedia Dark Crystal HD Capture SDK II (C729) + flash player = NO Audio devices

    Hi
I am trying to get flash player to play nice with averMedia Dark Crystal HD Capture SDK II (C729). But Flash player does not find any audio devices on the system. IE: Microphones.Names is 0 in length. Flash player settings window also dont show anything.
However using Chrome with built in flash player i can see audio device and it works. I have tried uninstalling and uninstalling different versions of flash player with no luck.
    Any hints adobe ?

I have to assume that it's not be exposed through DirectX in the case of Internet Explorer.  Chrome is probably using a different mechanism for enumerating the audio devices.  The hardware vendor may have some tips, but we're not really doing anything special in terms of detecting or blocking your audio device.

  • Firewire/Audio Device issues

I have a Yamaha Motif XS6 hooked up to my macbook pro running Mavericks. There is an audio driver downloadable from Yamaha (YSFW) which was working perfectly right up until I installed an M-Audio driver. The M-Audio device is no longer supported beyond 10.8.2 so I uninstalled it again. Since then the Motif cannot talk to the macbook pro.
    The journey thus far:
I have been able to access the Motif via firewire from a different laptop which means the mLan card in the Motif is working fine.
The Firewire option is viewable under network control panel as working but I have no cable (firewire 800-800) to test it against any other device.
My own personal conclusion (that is only best guess so far) is that the M-Audio driver has knocked out my yamaha YSFW driver.
How do I test this? Are their files/drivers I can be looking for or reinstalling? (I have uninstalled & reinstalled the Yamaha SYFW driver a couple of times with no success.)
Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions? If we can make this work tonight I'll buy you a car!! (actually that's not true and wont stand up in court!)
Thanks for your help in advance.

If your Macbook is a 2009 or later model then it already uses the revision 7 LSI/Agere chipset. And it's likely not the source of the issues.
    Have a look here: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4986
What a hub/repeater does is that it puts another FW chipset in between the faulty rev. 6 LSI and the audio interface, kind of translating the error away (I once used a MOTU Ultralite to make a RME Fireface 400 work on a 2008 Macbook Pro). There is no added latency or performance loss by putting another FW device in between (FW devices communicate all on their own).
Concerning FW/USB and channels. 48 channels of 24-bit audio at 192 KHz is still less than 27 mb/s and as such easily handled by USB 2. I can fire all 36 I/Os of my Fireface UC at 44.1 KHz while transferring data to an USB HD drive that is connected to the same USB hub. That is possible because the audio interface can reserve bandwidth on USB just like it can on FW, the HD just gets what's left.
The RME UFX even comes with 60 channels total and can be run over both FW and USB 2: http://www.rme-audio.de/productsfirefaceufx.php
Most USB interfaces suffer more from bad driver implementations (and early USB chipset issues) than from any limits of the USB protocol itself.

  • USB Audio Device only plays left channel out both speakers.

usually i use my Yamaha Audiogram 3 usb audio device to record things in cubase, and when the cubase settings are set it is fine, but as soon as i close cubase, the left channel of any audio (like itunes playback) plays out of both left and right speakers in the headphones i use. this only happens when the Audiogram 3 is plugged into 1 certain usb port (of 2).
its even fine when i have cubase running in the background while i play music from itunes. it just doesn't make any sense. it also appears to recognize that its stereo in one port, but not the other.
i would suspect it has something to do with the drivers for the usb device (if there even are any), that the drivers it placed into the system only applies to that one usb port, but if thats the case, you would think it would install new drivers for the other port as soon as i plug in my audiogram, but thats not the case.
no cd for the audiogram. you simply plug it in.
ive tried restarting the computer, plugging it in again, trying to change the settings. nothing seems to work. i need the other port to work.

Try resetting the PRAM. Info here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
You may also want to take a look at the Audio MIDI Setup utility and make sure everything is configured properly there.

  • Aggregat audio device with MBox

I'm trying to create an aggregate audio device with several output sources. Built-in-Audio works with DIGI9636, but I cannot seem to be able to get the MBox running with it. In the Aggregate Audio Device editor window MBox option doesn't even come up. Any solutions?

    Dear jakezzzz,
The only thing I can think of, not having your exact set up is that the word clock for both devices needs to match, and if you are using GB, it needs to be a sample rate of 44.1KHz.
I have an my16 mLAN card for a Yamaha 01v96 and it is the master word clock that all else syncs too at 48K and it works in GB, but the minute I attempt to add a device to create an aggregate mixer, those devices will not work for some reason.
I have used an RME Mammerfall DIGI9636 in my DMM G4. I really liked that unit. I was using it with Digital Performer 4.61.
Now that I have an intel machine and GB has most of what I need to do easy recordings, I am not using the RME card any longer.
Let me know what you find!

Device Manager lists: Legacy Audio Driver and says the device is working properly. Yet I have no sound,  and I have troubleshooted from almost every angle - even tried to download a new driver (RealTek) and still nothing.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro S300M and I have Windows XP Pro.
Each time my computer boots (and this doesn't happen in safe mode) two messages appear:
THotkey: This Audio Device is not supported

I know this is an old post--but I came across it when I had the same problem in 2013, so I am posting the solution I found to the problem.  I found that the following things resolved the problem.  First--for the Thotkey problem.  Turn off the hibernate option.  You do this by using the power option (Settings--Control Panel--Power Options--Hibernate tab--unclick the Enable Hibernation box) and  then restart your computer.  For me, this resolved the THotkey message, but still no sound. Then, to resolve the no sound problem.  My Satellite Pro S300-EZ1514 has a key sequence that turns speakers on and off.  The ESC key shows a picture of a speaker with sound waves, a slash, and a speaker.  By hitting the FN key and the ESC key together, you toggle the speakers off (a grayed out speaker image) and on (a yellow-colored speaker with sound waves).  Make sure you have the speakers on (the colored image). Unfortunately, I found this solution after I had uninstalled Realtek Audio Device--downloaded new drivers--and basically spent A LOT of time researching.

  • New MacBook Pro Unibody Jun 2011 - No Audio Device / No Output Device Installed. Please Help.

    Dear All,
I have installed OSX Lion on the 20th July 2011 and the problem started with the audio device installed. Itunes wont even play and iDVD and you tube would work without audio. I have tried everything from system diagnostic re-booting back to original snow leopard on 10.6.7 including taking it for service. The audio works intermittently when I re-start my MacBook but eventually disappears back to square one. Until restarted again.
I am still under my 90 days from purchase date and the problem is I am no longer in London where I originally purchased the MacBook from - I moved to Delhi, India with my family and they don't have geniuses here only local service/ technicians who already tried fixing the problem.
Very disappointed after spending nearly £1,600.00 for this.
I don't want to go back to the local service centre for them to restart my MacBook to prove audio device is working.
Is there any other option for me like refund or replacement?
    Many Thanks
    Shah

    Dear Lex,
Thank you for your advice above.
I have updated latest iTunes 10.4.1(10) 64 bit.
I have updated latest OSX Lion: 10.7.1 Build 11B26
Still the problem occurs. When laptop restarts the sound stays for 5-10 min before shutting down intermittently. In iTunes the music will not even run - other applications such as YouTube - it will run but no sound.
I have tried everything now and I am certain it must be a software connected issue I am experiencing only.
    Please can you help.
    Many Thanks

  • No audio (and "no audio device") in WIndows XP on my MacBook Pro 17"

    Greetings,
I just installed Windows XP SP2 on my new MacBook Pro 17" and everything is working smoothly EXCEPT that there's no sound in Windows from the built-in speakers, and in fact the Control Panel reads "No audio device." I have already successfully installed the Boot Camp drivers from my Leopard DVD. I also tried to run the Boot Camp 2.1 update (downloaded directly from the Apple site) but the installer cannot be run and gives error 2762, whatever that is. Finally, I've seen on some forum posts that certain Realtek drivers may fix similar problems on other machine, so I downloaded and installed Realtek R2.27 high definition audio driver but that doesn't seem to have done the trick for me.
I'm guessing this problem could be fixed easily by the correct audio driver but I can't figure out what that is or how to find it. Please help, any advice would be appreciated!

  • Macbook Pro 13" (Late 2011) - High Definition Audio Device - Code 10

Hi, i installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit via Boot Camp on my new Macbook Pro 13" (Late 2011). Driver Disk was installed, but the "High Definition Audio Device" couldn't be started. Status is Code 10. Normal Cirrus Logic Audio is working. Any advice, how this could be fixed? Would be nice, to have audio over the Mini-Displayport HDMI Adapter on Windows as well (Works perfectly with Lion).
    Thanks,
    Thorsten
