Yes or No Question

I'm very new to coding in Flash, so before I spend a lot of time attempting this, thought I would find out if it was possible first.
I am creating some flash files for a CD, the last file has questions that the student must answer correctly. Is it possible to do the following:
1) Track which files have been completed and which ones have not. I am looking to track successful completion, not just opening/viewing - especially on the questions.
2) Provide a login/password option for locations that will use the cd but only have one computer and multiple students.
If I can not do this in Flash, do you know what I should look at? We were able to do this with Authorware. Since Authorware is no longer supported, we chose Flash as our new develoopment tool. Now we are moving on to the CD courses and have run into this challenge.
Thanks

I have a simple sample of using shared objects here:

Did you actually download the installer from Apple or did you use Software Update.  You can download the installer http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Maybe I'm old fashioned but I would consider repairing permissions first using Disk Utility because something caused this to go wrong the first time.  And of course make a backup of your whole library first.  It shouldn't happen but some have complained about their libraries being wiped out by iTunes updates.  Better safe...

My form has a list of yes or no questions.  I want to use either cheboxes or radio buttons.  Unfortunatly I can't make it work.  When I check yes for one question, it marks all yes answers for all other questions.  If I mark some radio buttons to answer, it unmarks later.  Need immediate help!!!

Is it that you are using a PDF-based form? Did you copy and paste the Yes/No fields all the way down your form? If so, then all of the yes/no boxes are copies of each other and have the same name and properties in the PDF.
    For example, if you had:
         Question 1 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
         Question 2 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
         Question 3 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
         Question 4 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
Then whatever answer you selected in Question 1 would populate down through the rest of the form.
Changing the Yes/No field properties in questions two through four would eliminate the problem.
    I hope that helps,

  • List of Simple and Yes or No questions about the Precision T7910 Workstation

    1) I bought a T7910 with only 1 Processor, can I add a second Processor later?
    2) Do all 7910 Models come with a dual-processor motherboard?
    3) There are videos on Youtube showing a guy changing his 5.25" HDD ports into 2.5" SSD ports with cables, screws, metal plates, and these great little fans and such,  but there seems to be no way to find out where he got the cables, screws and little fans, Do these sort of options, cables, screws, plates and fans etc. come with the T7910?
    4) If they do not come with the machine, can they be ordered after the fact? (where? See next question...)
    5)  I went to the Dell Parts & Upgrades site then to the 'Accessories for your Dell Precision Workstations T7910' page,.  There was exactly ONE part available for the 7910, (some strange cheap little video card) see here: accessories.us.dell.com/.../Category.aspx;l=en&cs=19&s=dhs&category_id=2999&mfgpid=238987&Tab=Parts&stype=2
    so....
Is that the ONLY Part or Upgrade one can buy for a Precision 7910 workstation?
(sub question: Where are the Replacement Power supplies and Memory chips and cables and fans and Procs and Drives and Raid Kits for the 7910?
    6)  I bought 32GB DDR4-2133 for my 7910 (in a 4x8GB configuration), can I ADD more memory later keeping my existing chips and just adding 4 more 8GB chips to get to 64GB? (or do they all have to be matched chips installed at the same time like the old days...)
    THANK YOU!

I just bought my T7910. The short list of specs on mine:
    - E5-2623
    - 2 x 4GB (2 x 16GB should be coming in this week)
    - 310 videocard (already been upgraded to a 960)
    - 500GB HDD (already added a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO and a leftover 2TB)
    - purchased the quad 2.5" drive bay that goes into the 5.25" optical drive bay to allow me to put in 4 x 2.5" drives besides the standard 4 x 3.5" drives
I bought this system after very detailed research. Not all information and/or parts are straight up available on Dell's site (e.g. the quad drive bay I made sure to be part of the purchase, but knew it would ship separately).
    SpeedStep
     1) I bought a T7910 with only 1 Processor, can I add a second Processor later?
No -> Incorrect: you can add a 2nd processor later, but you'd need to get a genuine Dell heatsink for that 2nd processor, which currently means you'll have to buy that from Dell as I haven't found any resellers offering that heatsink separately yet.
    2) Do all 7910 Models come with a dual-processor motherboard?
No -> Yes, all motherboards in the T7910 support dual processors (you just need a 2nd heatsink, which doesn't come with the system if you buy it with a single processor)
No -> Correct, but you can buy them from Dell. The SKU to buy is 470-ABHF. This SKU is probably not findable on dell.com, so you'd have to go through spare parts or your salesrep. Dell's KB article here, shows some information, but at the time I'm writing this it doesn't have a (correct) SKU for the 7910 (it uses different cables than the 7600/7610 due to the 12Gbit/s SAS vs 6Gbit/s SAS).
    4) If they do not come with the machine, can they be ordered after the fact? (where? See next question...)
    No -> Yes, see above
Yes -> No, the website is just very limited in what it lists, even though Dell does seem to have added memory and drive upgrades at least, since your original post.
(sub question: Where are the Replacement Power supplies and Memory chips and cables and fans and Procs and Drives and Raid Kits for the 7910?
No -> You'll have to call Dell spare parts or your Dell salesrep.
Yes -> Correct; each processor has 4 memory channels. All usable memory channels have to be identically populated, unless the memory channel isn't being used (e.g. you don't have a 2nd processor to communicate with the 2nd set of 8 DIMMslots, or you don't need that much memory at this time). So, in your case, you would end up with 4 memory channels with 2 x 8GB DIMMs in each memory channel. For my system I should have 4GB + 16GB in 2 of my 4 memory channels for my CPU.

  • Simple yes or no question

    I'm a Java newbie.
I've written an ap for a client who is a printer. It allows him to do page layouts for printing, and works exactly as originally speced out. Now he wants to know if he can do multi-page layouts on a single sheet that would require certain regions of the text to be displayed upside down on the screen.
Is there any way, using existing Java classes, to display text on the screen upside down? And what about rotated 90 degrees? I don't need the implementation details (yet), I just need to be able to give him an answer, yes or no.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • No dial-up following latest pacman -Syu with Yes to all questions

I wonder how I can get dial-up going again like in the past.
Following a system-wide update there's no dial-up connection any more.
    Tom.

Sorry, can't help you with that. As I needed the system I did a full rsync-restore to what I had and that's what
    I'm using now.
The question remains: is there a dial-up feature in the latest Archlinux?

  • Yes fan speed question again..but with a slight

I use my new 27" strictly as a monitor (target display mode) for my mac pro.
The fans all idle while sleeping..upon screen wake after some 15-20 mins the cpu fan slowly creeps up and does so reaching say 1750+ after 50-60 mins...it may get to 2000 or more. All this is with 0% cpu usage and note.. does so by creeping up.The other 2 fans escalate marginally.
I have done the SMC firmware and SMC reset. I suspect the LCD temp sensor controls the cpu fan ( and possibly the others) as the fan speed does hold or somewhat reduce if I put monitor into a dim state. If I put imac into sleep then wake right away it reverts to a much lesser speed..top left corner of case is virtually untouchable....normal ?
EDIT:It appears going into tdm may load the imac cpu but I can't determine because it can't be viewed when in tdm...the fan seems to diminish whem the imac is run in imac screen mode...more testing to be done

Our approach is to suggest the best approach that we know. This approach may or may not be appropriate, that is why you read the tutorial and make up your own mind. Of course all Swing components use KeyBindings. Many of them like the text components or JTable will bind 20 different keys. it's not that i didn't take your advice from the first time you gave it, i read the tutorial of both keyListener and keyBinding, and browsed through the documentation of them both, but still a few things were not clear to me as to the efficiency of a wider usage of keys that's all.

  • Yes, another Airport question

I am having a common problem (as I have seen from numerous google searches) with my airport card in my Macbook. I am running 10.4.11 on the white macbooks that came out about 3 years ago...My Macbook has been awesome for almost the entire period of time, however, I keep losing my connection with my apple airport wireless router. I tested the connection with another computer and the signal is strong all over the house....I, however, have to be about 5 or 6 feet away from the router in order to receive a strong signal, and even then it fluctuates between 3 and 2 bars.
From searching literally hundreds of posts, I cannot quite find an answer/solution to my problem...I have deduced that I either have a wireless network in the area that is interfering with my network or I just need a new wireless card in my macbook.
I looked up wireless cards on ebay and it seems like I can get one pretty cheap, but I would be very apprehensive to open up the computer and install it, for I would probably screw it up somehow. If I were to buy the card on ebay and schedule an appt. with a genius, do you think they would install it for me...I don't mind paying. My appleCare warrantee has expired long ago...so, I am not sure if they would even consider helping me.
Also, I have seen that I could update my OS from Tiger to Snow Leopard, but I don't want to do that if it is not necessary. I have made sure that I have the latest firmware updates and everything and it seems all up to date.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks, in advance, for even reading this rambling diatribe...

    Welcome to the discussions!
If you take your laptop to the coffee place or other location and can connect with no problems, your wireless card is fine. If you continue to have connection problems, it may be that wireless card is in need of replacement.
Have you downloaded a utility like iStumbler, www.istumbler.net to get a look at the signal strength and noise on your network? The bars at the top of the screen are not a very good indicator of the actual signal on your network and tell you nothing about the quality of the signal.
Look for other networks in your vicinity and note in particular what channel your wireless is operating on. There may be other networks on the same channel or adjacent channels that are interfering with your network. Cordless phones and security systems at the neighbors can also cause problems with any wireless network. Most modern routers allow their users to create "hidden" networks that can't be seen but cause problems nonetheless. Not much you do about that.
AirPort Utility will allow you to change the channel on your wireless network if you suspect this may help matters. You may need to experiment with a number of different settings to find the best compromise, particularly if you are in an area with a number of networks.

  • My library suddenly shows 15 albums that I did not buy.  It was right after I said yes to a question about updating my library, I think.  What happened?

Today is 12/30.  I was looking at my music library on my laptop just now.  It shows 15 albums I have never seen before, by artists I have no familiarity with.
I have a new iPad2 with Cloud.  Does that have anything to do with it?
I am not interested in these 15 albums.  I just downloaded 2 songs, and can't even find them.  I would like to hide/delete the 15 albums.  Are they some kind of freebie?
I've gone all over the site, but cannot find an answer, or a way to send this directly to Apple.  I am looking for a specific solution.  I would appreciate help.
I have one other laptop that I can share music with, and an iPod and iPod Home.

  • Four yes, no type of questions in one slide

What I like to do is to put four true-or-false (yes-or-no) type of questions in one slide if possible.
I achieved this using yes, no widget (I cannot remember where I got it)
But in this widget, I can just choose yes or no without any feedback.
But someone frome the top asked me to add feedback on each question.
Can we achieve this kind of functionality using advance action?
If possible, I would like to make each question appear one at a time.
For example, the first question appear. After users select either yes or no, then
appropriate feedback appear with arrow buttow. If youers click on the arrow button,
the second yes-or-no question will appear etc. I attached a picture to illustrate my point.
What is the best practice to achieve this kind of activity? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lieve is right, whether you are deploying it for LMS or not is vital.
Also if you like you can insert 8 transparent buttons for i.e. 2 for each section, under button properties if you like you can set Reporting to -- Include in Quiz, a button would by default have Hint, Success Failure caption, enable the one you like, also you can initiate an action to make rest appear once you click arrow.
This might be a little longer route to achive it, but should work.
    Thanks,

  • Problem with Superdrive (?) and a few questions

    Hello, everyone,
Yesterday I bought my Mac Mini and soon I wanted to test the dvd player. I popped in Casino Royale and then it started.... I heard a few noises but the DVD did not appear on my desktop. First I thought that perhaps I had the wrong side up but that didn't help the problem. The dock didn't respond anymore. I pressed the eject button on my keyboard... no dice. In the end I decided to reboot but even that didn't work.
I was forced to cold reboot the Mini by holding the power button and then pressing it again. To my relief the mini restarted and this time he recognized the DVD. The question now is:
why did the mini react the way he did?
Perhaps there was something I needed to do before popping in a dvd or cd? I tested the drive with different cd's and dvd's. Now there are no more problems.
    Ah, yes, some other questions.
    1. I have a 1 terabyte usb drive that I used to use with Windows. Now I want to create a partition on it to use with the mac. Is there a program that I can use? I want to keep the data on it and create a partition for the mac. So I have 2 partitions: 1 with NTFS and 1 with Mac.
    2. Is it possible to boot install Windows on a USB drive and create a dualboot with Bootcamp?
Thank you for your time and effort.
    Marc

I did create an extended journaled partition and a ntfs partition. I still use that drive for windows so guid is not an option.
As for boot camp, at 1 time I installed snow leopard on a external drive to see if I could use the internal drive solely for windows...nope.
It looks like I'm looking for the impossible. So I indicated that my question has been answered.
    Thanks for your help, David.

  • To repair the HD or not to repair the HD, that is the question

    Been brushing up my Shakespeare....
While running an HD disk verification, it appears that I have an issue because it wants me to install my OSX disc and use disk utility to repair it.
But...everything is running fine right now, as far as I can tell. Nothing's gummed up, nothing's slow, no beach balls of death, etc. In fact, if I hadn't run repair verifications and did the verify after that, I'd never have known.
So...do I go ahead and repair the HD, or is there a SL issue that I need to be made aware of? Right now, I am leaning toward taking part of my morning to to do the fix. (I work from home and thus do all my own IT work.)
Comments, thoughts etc. are all welcome. I'll check back in the morning to see what anyone has to say.

You can also do a disk repair with AppleJack (free) which, when installed, enables you to run a repair when you start up in single-user mode (starting with command-s held). This is exactly the same process as doing the check from the install disk, but is a lot faster to boot into.
Not to be picky, but AppleJack's 'repair disks' command is not exactly the same as doing the check from the install disk. It is equivalent to running the command "/sbin/fsck -yf " in single user mode. There are several things to be aware of when deciding which disk repair method to use:
    1. As mentioned in Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck, Apple says it is important to use Disk Utility instead of fsck whenever possible. Since Applejack uses the fsck command, this implies that you should use it only when you cannot use Disk Utility for some reason.
    2. The "/sbin/" part of the command refers to the system binary directory of the startup drive. This is where the fsck UNIX executable files that AppleJack uses to do the repair are located. Obviously, if the startup drive is damaged such that this directory can't be accessed, or that the fsck files are corrupted, then neither using Applejack nor running the equivalent command manually in single user mode will work. In fact, it is unlikely but not impossible that if run, a corrupted fsck file could do more damage.
Since it is extremely unlikely that an installer DVD will have any file or directory damage, using its copy of Disk Utility (or the fsck files) avoids this issue.
    3. The "y" flag in the command automatically answers "yes" to all questions fsck asks about repairing the disk. This is convenient, since you don't have to keep telling it to continue after each question, & a "no" answer will stop the repair. However, as mentioned in the fsck Manual Page, this option "should be used with great caution as this is a free license to continue after essentially unlimited trouble has been encountered." Also from the same source, note that some repairs "will result in some loss of data."
Basically, what this means is that in some circumstances using fsck can destroy data & with the "y" option you give it an unlimited licence to do so.
Disk Utility does not do this. It is very conservative & will stop rather than attempt any repair that risks data loss, & give you the dreaded message about backing up what files you can before reformatting the drive.

  • Very basic questions

Currently for live performance I use my Nord Stage 2 and an iPad Air running an app called SetListMaker. The app displays my sets and when I click the next song, it sends a patch change to my Nord for that song. I use an iRig MIDI 2 as the interface. Lately though the iRig has become unstable (and it's only a couple months old) and is only working about half the time. I'm not too impressed with its durability.
I was thinking about grabbing MainStage 3 for my MacBook Air anyway, but now I'm about to pull the trigger if it will do what I want.
In reading through the online manual I see you can create set lists, although I can't seem to find a good photo of what they look like anywhere. Will there be a list of the songs in the left-side column that I can either click (or arrow down?) which will:
    1)  send a MIDI program change to the Nord so it calls up the right program, AND
    2) activate a given soft-synth or two with MainStage that can receive MIDI note info (and AT, sustain, etc.) from the Nord?
Can this sending and receiving all happen through the USB connection between the Nord and the MacBook Air? I also have several audio/MIDI interfaces, such as the MOTU UltraLite MK3, which would likely use to get the audio out of MainStage, but it could feasibly be the MIDI/USB go between too.
    Thanks!

The answer is yes to all questions.

    Hi Adare,
I have tested on Exchange Server Deployment Assistant with "Hybrid"->"Exchange 2010 based hybrid", and get the same result as yours.
Information on "Do you want all users to use their on-premises credentials when they log on to their Exchange Online mailbox?" as below:
Single sign-on allows users in both the on-premises organization and the Exchange Online organization to access resources and features across the two organizations without being prompted for additional user credentials. Single sign-on is configured for
a hybrid deployment using identity federation and Active Directory synchronization. If you're planning to have on-premises users access Exchange Online accounts using the Outlook mail client or planning to implement Exchange Online Archiving,
we strongly recommend selecting Yes for this question and deploying single sign-on in your on-premises organization.
It seems that this is the reason why Yes has been selected.
