Yosemite iCal no longer prints Day with Date for 1 day printout.

Previous to v10.10, when printing an iCal single day calendar (Monday, Tuesday, etc...) by default it would print (for example) Friday, October 10. Yosemite iCal now only prints: October 10, omitting the day of the week.
Is there a way to get the day-of-the-week back?

Thanks Rockedge but the preferences switch still leaves the DAY of the week missing before the MONTH and Numeric Date.
     The old way and now desired printout: Monday, October 27
     Now its just: October 27
The hope is to return the MONDAY back in the print version...
My sarcastic but working fix is the Print to PDF, edit add day of the week, print, throw away...
I know there's a generation of programmers up at Apple who just can't conceive why someone would actually want to "Print" something, but there are...

  • How to create a folder with date each day?

    I've not used Automator, just once to "create" a workflow to create a new folder with a name; but what I want is this:
    Each morning at 12:01 am, a new folder to be created with the correct date as the name of the folder.
    So for tomorrow, Sunday 23 Nov 2008 at 12:01, I'd suddenly have a folder on my Hard Drive that would have the date like 23 Nov 2008 or 11/23/2008 or 23-11-2008 or similar.
    Then at the end of a week I'd have 7 of these; - but I can manually trash them-- I want to create these on my HD since I backup via SuperDuper! each morning (automatically) at 3:35 am (incremental backup to an external La Cie HD) and I want to know if was done, so by having a folder with the date on it I can open the external HD and if I see that that folder with the recent date is there, then I'm confident the BackUp was run.
    I have been able to create a workflow to create a folder in Automator, but not sure how to:
    1. Have the folder created automatically each day at 12:01
    2. How to have the folder label be the date

    Open the AppleScript Editor. Copy the following into it:
    set dt to date string of (current date)
    set mth to word 2 of dt
    set dy to word 3 of dt
    set yr to word 4 of dt
    set dtt to mth & " " & dy & " " & yr

    make new folder at alias "Macintosh HD:Users:username:Desktop:" with properties {name:dtt}

    Amend the path with your Hard Disk name and username. Save as an application to anywhere suitable.
    In iCal, set up an event with a daily repeat and an alarm at the time you want it: under 'Alarm' choose 'Open file': then in the next menu which will appear change from 'iCal' to 'Other' and navigate to your script. Enter the date and time.
    Your folder will be created as required: iCal does not need to be running. This script gives the folder name as, for example, 'November 22 2008', but it's easy to amend the script if you want something a bit different - for example:

    I understand that you want to know if a way to configure the HP ePrint.
    I would like to help.
    Unfortunately there is no way to reconfigure the ePrint.
    When you send an email to the printers ePrint address, it will print the body of the email and any attachments.
    It will not print the subject line or who the email is from.
    Also the ePrint feature will not resize pictures sent.
    What you send is what you get.
    You can get more control over ePrint with the ePrint app, but I don't believe that will suit your needs.

  • Suddenly ICal & Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac

    2 days ago, ICal and Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac 2011.  I still have full functionality of Email in Outlook.
    What is wrong and how can I fix it?

    Any solution here yet? I have the same issue. After upgrading to Yosemite Outlook for mac kept requiring me to "rebuild identity database"
    I did this many times so there were many new identities.
    Finally I researched and found out that after the Yosemite update outlook would rebuild identity and once you do that there is a mismatch of your email account in outlook which just needs to be deleted and re-added to fix.
    Now since then my outlook contacts and apple address book do not speak to each other.
    If I make a new contact on my iphone and sync with my mac it will appear in apple address book.
    If I make a new contact in outlook it will not appear on the iPhone.
    So the phone is communicating and syncing with apple address book but wherever the apple address book goes to find the outlook contacts it must be using one of the older "identities"
    Also now when I am in outlook and go from email to contacts it takes about 20 seconds to open the 5,300 contacts and it used to be instant.
    Is there a way to view where outlook is getting the data? When I go into Outlook Preferences, Sync Services, "On My Computer:" is the one that is chosen so that should be good.
    Any help?

    Since downloading the most current iTunes software I am no longer able to print an insert (label) for a jewel case.  I click on print, choose jewel case and then it doesn't matter which option I choose for the insert it will only print the songs over each other in a 1 inch section so that it can not be used or read.  If instead of clicking on the jewel case I click on list it works fine and prints an appropriate list.  I have always updated the iTunes software the first time I am offered to do so and I have never had a problem printing the jewel case inserts.  Since this issue is not about a piece of hardware iTunes help will not help me. 

    Did you ever get a response?
    If you so how did you correct the problem?
    I have the exact problem you had.

  • Can no longer print wireless with PHotosmart Premium 410C. Used to print wirelessly no longer.

    Print out from printer button says it is all connect with network named, IP address etc.   I also cannot print from my cell phone via email any longer.  Any ideas  Set up with Windows Vista.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not with iPhoto. I believe there's a 3rd party application that will do that based on either the Capture Date or Created date. Don't know about the time though. There was also mention of an online photo finisher that would print the date on the back of the print. The app might be Portraits & Prints. I don't remember exactly. Do a search in this and the Printing and Book Ordering forum for "print date" or similar. I believe it was lori_diloreto who had the information. You can limit the search to posts by her.

  • Too long printing process with Mail since last system update

    Since the last system update about a week ago, it takes forever for Mail to process an e-mail to the printer (about 30 seconds).  Most of the time, the emails only include text.
    This only happens with Mail.  I daily use FileMaker Pro, Excel, InDesign,... and only have this problem with Mail.
    My printer is a Xerox Phaser 6360 and I have a new iMac with an OS X V.10.8.3

    Do you have any Mail plugins in the ~/Library/Mail/Bundles folder? Perhaps there is an incompatibility between them and Parental Controls?

  • How can I calculate the number of members with data for a given Dimension

    HiI want to be able to calculate the exact size of the data given the number of blocks in existence.I am trying to work out a way of estimating the effect of changing Dimensions from Spare to Dense and to see which Dimensions would be worth it.Currently I have Cost Centre and Reference Code dimensions. I know that roughly 90% of the Cost Centres are used against just one member of Reference Codes but the other 10% are against multiple Reference Codes.I also have a number of other dimensions and the problem I come up against is that when I change a Dimension from Sparse I really don't know how many blocks will be in existence at the end of it so I can't multiply this against the blocksize to predict the total datasize.Any thoughts (the artistic "suck it and see" solution is obvious but I'd like to cut down on experiments - they take too long)Thanks

    Copy and paste the code in the Code field in the Error Console and click the Evaluate button.

  • Importing Events with dates for titles instead of "untitled event"?

    Hi everyone,
    My wife has a simple wish - she'd like her photos organized into folders (in the case of iPhoto, events) titled by the date those photos were taken.  So for example
    2011_07_01
    Or some similar variant.
    Now, we've given up trying to get that to work with importing in Aperture - it's just bizarrely difficult to figure out how to do something so simple, I can't fathom it.
    So we went back to iPhoto. The wierd thing is, this worked for a large directory of photos we imported from our old computer. But when we try importing new photos from her camera - a Canon Powershot 300 HS - it just creates a whole bunch of Untitled Events. The weird thing is, they are broken up properly into separate days, but it doesnt name the event by the date which makes no sense. My hope is a person doesn't have to manually rename every single event as the date - I kinda figure we use this sort of software to avoid that kind of thing.
    Any tips or workarounds you guys know of?

    What you are are describing is the way iPhoto works - in the iPhoto preferences you can set the parameters for spliting imports into events but you will ahve to add the event titles yourself - titling an event with the photos dates is no an option
    iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback to suggest to Apple
    And folders in iPhoto do not hold photos - they hold albums and other folders

  • Printing issue with pdftops for XML publisher reports.

    Hi All,
    We have recently upgraded from 11.5.10 to R12.1.3.
    We are facing a strange issue for some of the seeded reports that were converted to type XML after R12 upgrade.
    First, the reports were printed with junk / xml character while submitting the requests from application (e.g. Account Analysis Report)
    We made the following changes.
    - Added PDF Publisher style with required flag set to yes to the  Account Analysis Report.
    - Set proifle option "FND: Default Template Output Type"  to PDF   (it was blank)
    - The pasta_pdf.cfg is configured to use pdftops for conversion
    - Restarted the manager.
    After this, the above report is priting fine and pdftops is converting it to correct format before printing.
    But one of the printer that Oracle EBS is configured is getting stuck specifically for this postscript based request.  The same report prints well on another printer.
    The 'lpstat -t' shows the following status for the failing printer.

    I will check the 2 options you recommended. At the same, I would like to test the direct print from the OS using pdftops utility.  But not sure how can I do that?
    The concurrent request creates the .tmp file under APPLTMP and pass that as the parameter while printing such requests. But if we need to test the .PDF output using pdftops directly, what should be the syntax? Or I would say, what should be the input file and output file?
    e.g.
    pdftops {infile} {outfile}
    I have got the .PDF output under $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT. But from one of the failed request logs, I see the system passes both as .tmp. If we need to test this directly, is there any way?
    In the meantime, I will check the debug logs option and update if it provides any additional information.

  • Can I transfer my CS5 files from my Windows 7 computer to my Mac Yosemite computer and have them work with CS6 for Mac?

    I am using Dreamweaver CS5 on a Windows 7 laptop.  I would like to change to Dreamweaver CS6 on my Mac running Yosemite.  Can I transfer my CS5 files from the  Windows computer to the Mac and will CS6 be able to work those files on the Mac?  I do not need nor want a subscription account.  Just the stand-alone program for occasional tweeks to my web site.  at www.longwayhome.com.

    Yes, your files in CS5 are just .html, .css, .php and .js files, there's nothing that makes them "CS5 versions" of those file types.
    You can do it a couple different ways, but the easiest would be to copy the folder being used as the root directory (and all of it's contents) from one machine to the other, then on the new machine, simply set up a new site definition, using that newly copied folder as the local root.
    If you want, you can export your site settings (FTP and whatnot) on the old machine...
    Go to Site > Manage Site> click the site you want > Export
    Copy the resulting .ste file along with the local root folder to the new machine
    On the new machine go to Site > Manage Sites > import to bring in the .ste
    Relink that new site to the newly copied root folder

    In my company we are installed Acrobat Reader 5.0 in HP-UX and we are generated the reports with Oracle Aplications. Some reports are generated and printed in PDF with the instruccion: cat fichero.pdf |acroread -toPostScript| lp -D printer and no problem, but now we add in some reports a codebar field but the Acrobat no generated the codebar only generated a number. Wich is the problem? We need any fonts codebar?

    Barcodes are currently not supported on the Unix platforms. We are working to support them in the next release (8.0).
    The latest version of the Reader on HP-UX is 7.0.9. You might want to upgrade to it (requires >= GTK+ 2.0) (However, it too does not support barcodes. There are several other enhancements.)
