YOUTUBE TROUBLE AGAIN!!!

Hello Everybody,
There is more trouble with YOUTUBE again. I have the latest ATV with up to date software. And I have reset this thing a couple of times with no change.
The "TOP RATED" list for the WEEK & MONTH haven't updated since the end of January. My SUBSCRIPTIONS stay in some jumbled order, and just change very little from day to day. They aren't in alphabetical order, nor are the in most viewed order. They are just HOSED UP!
Can someone at Apple please get these things corrected????
It took weeks for someone to get the subscriptions & favorites fixed last years about this time.
Apple, if you guys aren't going to support YOUTUBE, please delete it off of the menu. You all are suppsed to be about the experence. This blows.

I'm having the same problem. I've been trying to be patient, but it's well over a month now. The lists are no longer updating. I'm finding new content in my Subscriptions, but "Top Rated" and "Most Viewed" haven't changed at all lately. I hope we're not victims of another Apple/Google snit.

Canon iR C3380 - Aggghhhh! Trouble again

After a long time trouble shooting, and much help from Pahu and others, I had got our office Canon iR C3380i printer to print. I have no idea what happened, but I get the following error every time I try now:
+Cannot find output destination. Check the printer power connection, make sure the printer is switched on, and then try again.: -3150+
The printer is fine, other Win users can print ok. Odd thing is that two Macs on the network suddenly weren't able to print, so it is something on the OS side - maybe a recent update? One of the Macs can print ok from bootcamp, so...dunno what is up. I tried deleting the old driver and other Canon detritus from the system and re-installing, and one time could actually print for a very short time (less than one day), but then it stopped again. Error is always the same, the -3150, whatever that means. If I go to the webpage for the printer I can print jpg files, but, well, we never print jpg files, so it is pretty useless, but does indicate that the computers CAN communicate with the printer, there is something up with the driver.
Sigh...10.6+Canon = disaster, as far as I am concerned. Worked ok with 10.5.x, too.

I don't think it will help either. Comparing the v2.06 to v2.05 I cannot see any major difference between the two, except that additional models have been added.
I checked the URFII Print Monitor, sometimes it doesn't give an error, sometimes it does. If it does, search for printer doesn't do anything. Canon Thailand just told me to download the newest driver, and haven't been able to help more than that.
For the printer not to be found, I wonder if your Mac is losing its network connection? At the time that the monitor doesn't find the copier, I would open the Network Utility and ping the IP address of the machine. This would at least show if you have a connection from the Mac to the Canon.
We lease the printer, so not sure if the PS was available or not, I'd guess not as we normally would have PS printers. Next time they come out to service I'll ask and see if we can get PS added at some point. That said...it should still work regardless. One of our machines just upgraded to Win 7, no drivers added at the start, but it found the printer easily enough, downloaded the driver on its own, and prints fine - that is how it should work. Whether it is Apple or Canon's fault that it doesn't work this way with 10.6 is up for debate, though other printers we have worked fine out of the box without problem, only the iR C3380 has been a pain.
Win 7 comes with a lite driver for the iRC3380, which lets you print and use some features. Would have been nice if Canon could have provided their business product drivers to Apple like they have done with their consumer products.
I cannot remember if we previously checked for the availability of PS on this copier. If it does have PS, then you could use the Canon PPDs which I believe would avoid the errors you are getting.
Also, Canon has released a PS driver for their new iR Advance models. I have been using this driver to our iRC3380, and it has been working fine for me.
Can you check if you have PS on the copier. If you connect to the copier with a web browser you will see the built-in web page of the copier. On this page, select the Additional Functions button and then select Custom Settings (note that you may have to enter an ID and password). On the right side, you will see an entry of Printer Settings and under this will be the supported protocols. Hopefully you have an entry of PS.

YouTube Troubles

I am an avid user of the popular site, YouTube. I doubt that any of the users on this forum are unfamiliar with the website.
I am having extreme trouble buffering YouTube videos. About two months ago I could buffer and stream 720p video, and ever since then I could no longer watch a 360p video at all.
I am the only one in my network having this problem.
I have searched about other people having this problem, and I saw a couple threads about it from a few years ago, nothing is recent.
I have gone through multiple troubleshooting 'adventures'.
I have recently installed more RAM into my computer for different reasons, and no change was made (I went from 3.00GB of installed RAM to 4.00GB).
I have a close friend who has a computer that can barely run flash games because of miniscule processing power/RAM, and he can buffer 480p videos with worse internet speed than me.
It isn't the internet speed, I have plenty.
It isn't bandwidth, I have plenty.
It isn't any other site, just YouTube. Other websites play videos with ease, but even other sites with embedded YouTube videos will not buffer easily.
I can't see a reason why this is happening. I don't remember doing any extreme changes to my computer other than the new installed RAM in the past 9 months.
If anyone has this problem, please let me know.

A note: I have looked into a Bandwidth problem, as YouTube videos will buffer slightly faster during the hours of around 3AM - 6AM, but still not fast enough to watch 360p videos.
If anyone can point a finger at what the problem is, I would be EXTREMELY greatful.

Another note: I use Google Chrome, and have tested other browsers with no better preformance (IE9, Firefox).

Youtube buffers 720p and 1080p videos at full speed (in my case 30 Mbits). This causes high cpu usage even when the video is paused but loading. Flash Plugin 11.3 is even worse especially in Firefox with protected mode on. Buffering is a real pain, it uses almost 50% CPU on an Intel Core2Duo E8500 (3.16 ghz) with video paused. The better the internet connection the worse buffer issues are. If you use a netbook or an older computer (single core) I think that Flash Player is simply unusable.
In Chrome you may try disabling pepper flash plugin: http://techlogon.com/2011/08/11/shockwave-flash-crashes-in-google-chrome/
A long youtube HD video to test buffer issues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUh8XGGdLSg (be sure to enable HD).
Install flash player 11.2 or 10.3. It will still consume CPU cycles when buffering but less than latest version.
Adobe is employing their users as alpha testers, I hope HTML5 video replaces this buggy flash plugin soon.

Youtube trouble

When i choose avideo on Youtube it shows a warning on top of the viewing screen that says : Click here to run Adobe flash player. How can i remove this warning ?

Don´t know how but pehaps calling it a warning is misleading. It´s very simple , i open Youtube and choose a video to watch, instead of showing the video directly (like it does normally) the video screen shows up covered in grey with a puzzle piece in the center of the screen (i´m talking about the youtube little screen not the computer screen) and below the puzzle piece it´s written : Click here to run adobe flash player. Now my problem is : how can i remove this grey cover from showing every time i change video on youtube. I have noticed that the same cover shows on top of some of the advertisements that pop up in some sequence of actions like making downloads, not that i want to see them but to remove it you must again click to run adobe flash player.

Is anyone else having youtube trouble?

I seem to be having some trouble with loading and playing random videos on youtube. Some work completely normal and other start playing and loading, but then it suddenly stops.
I've noticed a little yellow line on the loading/playing bar at the buttom of the video. This yellow line is on all the videos that stop and it only appears on the videos that suddenly just stop.
A lot of my non-Mac friends don't have this problem which leads me to thinking it might have something to do with Safari even though it could just as well be something else. All I know for sure is that it is extreemly annoying.
My computer is a MacBook Pro from early 2011.

Since YouTube requires the Flash plugin, try uninsatlling the reinstalling the plugin.
Uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin then reinstall new.
Uninstall > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important uninstall the old one first.
Then reinstall > http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=JZEFT
Then open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Delete All
Quit and relaunch Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select: Clear History (also empties the cache)
Deselect the remaining boxes then click Reset.

IMovie and YouTube Trouble

Whenever I make an iMovie (o8) and insert text slides at the end, they never play all the way through on YouTube. Ones placed in the beginning are fine. For example, my current movie is 9.34 seconds-- it will play until let's say 9.15. Then it stops. Now if I tap the play button, it will then continue to the end. What am I doing wrong? BTW-- I am saving the movie as QuickTime.

You aren't doing anything wrong. It is the YouTube player that seems to interpret the closing credits as a premature end of the file. As you have proven, your entire file was uploaded, converted and is available. If you search this subject you will find people have been complaining about it ever since users began direct uploads from iMovie. I suspect the player may read the change in data rate/complexity as an "anticipated" end to the file and re-clicking, more or less, simply lowers the detection threshold so that it then plays to the "real" ending.

Ipod troubles (again)

I'm running windows XP, I have 2 ipods a 160gb Ipod classic and also an old 40gb ipod. I have just bought myself an external hard drive to store all my music on.
I was aiming to have all one genre on the 160gb ipod and all another genre on the 40gb ipod.
After a few minor problems i have the external hard drive and the 160gb ipod running together on the same pc (after changing the drive letter on the ipod)
My problem is with the older ipod. Everytime i connect it to my pc my pc freezes and i am unable to do anything until i have unplugged the usb cable, once i have unplugged everything i was trying to open (eg My Computer, itunes) opens straight away.
I had a problem with my old ipod a while ago when i lost all music (however the data still showed up on the "about ipod" on the ipod, just not on itunes or the artists, songs albums on the ipod). Still I hoped to get a reply on this forum (never got a solved answer) So i carried on adding music without a factory reset, hoping i would recover the songs.
The old ipod seemed to be working fine until yesterday when i connected to my pc for the first time in a while.
Now i had burned all my cds again to put on my new ipod i'm not bothered about restarting the old ipod, i would just like to get it to the factory settings again but i'm unsure how, with my pc freezing everytime i put it in.
Please don't tell me "its an old ipod, maybe time for a new one" Thats not what i want to hear. I paid £300+ for it!

Faulty drive inside the iPod. The 40GB iPods have the thicker two-platter drives inside. The thicker drives seem a bit more delicate, based on my experience, compared to the thinner single platter drives. But any iPod with a hard drive inside is likely to fail at some point because the hard drive becomes worn out or damaged, just as any hard drive is likely to fail at some point for the same reasons.
Does the iPod work normally when it is not connected to the computer? That is, does the screen menu display and work properly, and if it has songs on it, does it play the songs properly?
I'm prety sure its the click wheel.
If the wheel clicks down at the four +compass directions+, it is a clickwheel, and it is a 4th gen. Note: If it's the older touchwheel iPod (with four separate touch buttons), it is a 3rd gen, and it will not work reliably using a USB connection. Those iPods are designed to work with FireWire.
If it is possible to connect the iPod and not have the computer freeze up, I would try using Windows to reformat the iPod (from a My Computer or Windows Explorer) window. Use a full format instead of any option for a quick format. If that completes successfully, run iTunes and use Restore to install and initialize the iPod's software.
If you cannot connect it to the computer without the computer freezing up (and the other iPod works fine with the exact same connection), there's not much more you can try other than opening the iPod and swapping out parts until you find the one that is faulty (most likely the hard drive).

KDE and headphone trouble again

I had this problem awhile ago and never got it fixed, despite scouring the internet the best I could and asking for help here. I eventually switched to Cinnamon full time because my headphones worked in it without giving me a headache. I foolishly got rid of Arch for another distro, realized that I missed it, and re-installed it. Well, same problems.
I am having a hell of a time getting my headphones (Logitech Comfort Clearchat USB) to work in KDE. They work just fine in Windows and Cinnamon so I know that they're in working order. In KDE however... Well I set them as prefered device in Phonon. So, as long as I have them plugged in, Amarok would output to my headphones. However nothing else did. I did mess around with the audio settings in umplayer and now it will output to my headphones, but nothing I did to VLC would and Firefox simply refuses to output to anything other than my speakers. I'm not even sure where to begin trying to get Firefox to cooperate. I installed Pulseaudio to see if it would make a difference but it hasn't.
I haven't messed with my audio since this morning, all I did was install and look around pavucontrol, though nothing I did in there helped. I decided to try again later, a few hours passed, and now suddenly things have changed without me doing a thing. Now when I put my headphones in audio will simply become very quite, I can increase the volume but again, it just outputs through my speakers. I can't even hear things in Amarok anymore, whether I've got my headphones plugged in or not.
Now every time I open up Phonon, sometimes even Amarok I get the message "KDE detected that one or more of these internal devices were removed." It then asks me if I want KDE to forget about them. Sometimes it only lists "Output:HDA Intel, ALC888 Analog (Default audio device)", sometimes it lists that plus "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo".
Anyone have any ideas? I'm at my wit's end here.
Edit: Well I set Built-in Audio Analog Stereo above RV770 HDMI Audio in Phonon, so how I can hear sounds from Amarok and Umplayer again, so when I plug my headphones in audio output is directed to them. Unfortunately I still can't get Firefox or VLC to do the same. I'm not as concerned about VLC, what I'm really wanting to play nice is Firefox.

I created a asoundrc file and believe I set it correctly, unfortunately nothing changed. I also created a thread about this on KDE's forum last night, and Linux Questions earlier but so far, nothing. I just have absolutely no idea why KDE hates my headphones so much, it's the one thing that made me run back to Cinnamon before, but I'd rather not do that this time.
Getting closer... VLC will now output to my headphones. All I did today was choose my headphones as the master channel in Kmix, which solved my issue of not being able to control headphone volume with my keyboard. Now the only application that continues to refuse to work with me is Firefox. Chromium will output audio to my headphones so I know that at least some browsers are cooperating.

HP 6735S trouble (again)

Hello,
After a fairy long time 3 months my lappy got again dead/ is on strike.
I wanted to turn it on and the only output was the fan HD and the caps LED.
IT flashed five times in 2-3 sek betwen them and thats all.
Already tried the hard reset but this time no response. If anyone has some experience what this blink code by this model exactly determines i would be thankfull for informing me (the day before worked fine like the 2-3 months before )
The lappy is over 2,5 years old but still if it is a serious faillure its quite the shame for HP for creating it only to last a bit more than 2 -2,5 years at last 3. The quality is almost on the same level as ASUS or even ACER if not worse.

Trouble again with iTunes and iTunes server

Is anyone having issues with iTunes and thier iTunes server using 10.5, I have a NAS that acts as a iTunes server and all was well prior to the 10.5 update.

Are you running any Firewalls or Anti-Virus software? If so, disable all of that stuff & try again.

20" imac troubles again

about a week ago my imac froze so i restarted it & got the gray screen with a flashing folder. i booted from the install disc & tried to reinstall but it told me it could not be installed on my hd. i took it to the apple store and of course it worked fine so i bring it home & 2 days later it does the same thing. the only thing i can do is unplug it for the night & it works fine in the morning then about 2 days later it will mess up again. now it is showing no hd at all in disk utility. does anyone have any ideas what the problem could. any help would be much appreciated.

HI,
Never unplug the computer from it's power source. If you can't shut the iMac down from the Apple Menu, hold down the power button until the screen goes black.
Try booting while holding down the Option key which should prompt the Startup Manager. If that doesn't work...
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck
Reset the SMC
If none of the above helps, you need to take your iMac into an Apple store or an Apple certified repair provider.

FLASH WORK and IE ... I'm in trouble again

I've made a website in DWMX2004, but my work in flash appear
with a grey square around in IE6 when you pass the mouse over it,
but in FireFox doesn´t. Both have Flash Player 8 installed and
the flash work were made in Flash Mx 2004.
Then i try the solution of adobe find in

MSI P6N SLI board, trouble again

Well bought a new Adaptec 31205 raid card and a few Sas drives.
Strange enough the card is NOT seen by the board. Furthermore i cannot alter the bios of the board, nor the card gets detected.
Drives spindle, card is powered on, cursor stays at the left side of the screen.
Any suggestions for this problem are more then welcome.
Had to reinstall the Dell Scsi card and drives.

Intel extreme 6800 3 ghz duo processor
4 gb 800 mhz memory PC6400 Transend
Club 3d Radeon X1600 512 mb video card
Adaptec 31205 Raid controller with 256 mb cache
5 Cheetah T10 15k 300 gb drives
Right now Dell Perc4e controller (Scsi) in a PCI-E port (8 lanes) with 3 15k Scsi drives of 36 gb in Raid 5.
Board works with the Perc4E.
As said, drives spindle, lights on card are ok, no bios, not of the motherboard, not of the Adaptec.
