YUI Tabs with Custom JSF

Has anyone ever done anything with YUI Tabs and custom JSF presentations? I'm having an issue where a YUI dataSrc'd tab will not load in my JSF page.
Here are some contextual details...
I have the following directory structure configured:
- customJSP
-- proposal.jsf
- webResources
-- js
--- proposal.js
-- includes
--- testInclude.jsf
In proposal.jsf, I load proposal.js using a webResource tag - <script type="text/javascript" src="<fuego-type-lib:webResources relativePath='js/proposal.js' />"></script>. It loads fine.
In proposal.js, I have a YUI tab component that I want to load another page -

I have tried to include testInclude.jsf using <% @include file="<fuego-type-lib:webResources relativePath="includes/testInclude.jsf" />". I even moved all files into the same directory and used straight relative paths, e.g. <% @include file="testInclude.jsf' %> and <jsp:include page="testInclude.jsf" />.
testInclude.jsf looks like this:

All I see when I access this tab is the, "Loading... Please wait," message.
I know YUI uses AJAX to display the dataSrc'd tab content. Any thoughts?

I discovered the issue. It has to do with what YUI expects for the path of dataSrc'd pages. It expects an escaped path, e.g. ..//path//to//file which the webResource tag doesn't render properly. I ended up hard-coding the path to the file as ..//webRoot//webResources//includes/testInclude.jsf. It works now; however, the question becomes, is there any issue caused by hard-coding the path to the file in this manner?

I wanted some help in adding a new tab to shopping cart items. I went through some posts and found ways of doing it using some spro settings, but there is no way i can handle the field type in this.
I want a customer field which is a checkbox, how would i add this?

2. SAP SRM->SRM server-> Cross-Application Basic setting ->extension and field controls->create a table extension and supply with data->define customer table extension .( ZAINCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CST_SC)

I'm having trouble with custom ringtones. I have downloaded the free software "makeTones" and have created some ringtones. I then copied those to Mac and played them in ITunes. My Itunes does not have a ringtone tab. I can not sync the ringtones.

Yes, the file extension is M4R. Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook? I then opened them in Itunes and played them. I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes). When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty. Custom JSF component with custom value datatype

I've created a simple custom JSF component with a decode, encodeBegin as follows:

This component works just fine both inside and outside of a dataTable component, as expected.
What I would like to do now is to replace the String value datatype with a custom class, for example MyDataType. For this I do:

Are there somewhere examples on how to properly use custom datatypes as values for UIInput components? Also how to only partially update the value (like I do, I only want to update the value field of the MyDataType object)

Even if I encode the entire MyDataType via hidden input elements and decode it again (i.e. not using a cloned getValue) it's still not working side a dataTable.
Could it have to do something with me using Facelets?

How to skip span elements while tabbing thru a JSF view's form

I have a form in a xhtml file that while I tab thru the fields, the focus goes to a <span> element which is rendered from a custom JSF tag. This is an expand/collapse section header. I don't want the focus to stop there at all.
I have tried the following to no avail:
1) disabled="true"
2) tabindex="0"
3) tabindex="-1"
4) onfocus="this.blur();" <-- the onfocus event doesn't fire as this is rendered as a <span/> tag (not an input field)
None of these attempted solutions worked apparently b/c the <span> element is not an inputtable field. What is the best solution for this problem?
Must I dynamically set the tabindex attributes for all of the fields, thus bypassing the <span> elements? This is difficult to do with getter methods and counters in a backing bean as the getters are called X times throughout the JSF lifecycle.

Iframe content in YUI tab disappearing - only in firefox 11

We have an internal web site developed with YUI which uses the tabview control along with some content provided through an iframe. When the page initially loads the iframe is displayed but when switching between the YUI tabs the iframe content disappears. This stopped working with the upgrade to Firefox 11. It was working with all previous versions including up to 10.0.2.

I used to be able to open separate windows with Firefox, and the content could be completely different in each window. No matter what I did in any window, no OTHER window open at the time, nor any of the content therein, was affected. This is no longer the case and it is extremely frustrating for me.
I do ''not ''like tabs and do not use them. I prefer multiple windows plus I am so used to using them, for so many years now! But with v9.0.1 I suddenly can no longer do what I've always done with my browser without this aggravating problem constantly reminding me that I can't have what I want in firefox anymore.
Or can I? Does anyone have a solution I don't realize exists?

AppleScriptObjC can use pretty much everything in the Cocoa API, so yes, it is possible.
Note that a view is not the same as a window, and a window can have multiple views. There are also many ways to implement "tabs"; take a look at some of Apple's applications - they use various mixtures of toolbars, checkboxes, and radio buttons, for example. An application such as this will be a lot more involved than what you have done so far though, using custom classes and subclassing existing ones, so be prepared to do a lot of reading and researching.

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

Replication of BP linked with Customer number from R/3 to CRM

Hi,
We are trying to replicate BP linked with the customer number.
In R/3 when a BP is created automatically a customer is created for this BP (due to activation of synchrozination- BP -->Customer ) with different numbers and is available in the customer-general data tab of the BP in the field - Customer number.
Both BP and Customer are having different numbers this needs to be replicated to crm as a BP with the Customer number appearing in the Identificatio tab as R/3 customer number (identification type).
Example - A BP with number-100 is created then automatically a customer with number 2000 is attached to this BP -100. The same needs to be replicated to CRM. Both BP and customer shud have same GUID.
With the settings that is done now two records are getting created seperately one with BP number and other with customer number based on settings in PIDE.
How can we configure this?

Hi,
I think you are using some IS component in ECC. Hope you are using BUPA_MAIN and BUPA_REL objects for downloading BP's to CRM. In PIDE you do not need to maintain mapping for customer.

Is there a Simple Way to Reformat Database Text with Custom Converter?

When a database column contains a string, often the string may be stored in the database in a form that may not be suitable for viewing by the user. It is often interesting to show the user the string after it has been reformatted. Many things including phone numbers, product codes and various other application specific encodings fit into this category. The JSF Converter concept seems to be an ideal place to apply the reformatting via the application of a custom converter. In fact, many of the text books written on JSF refer to the JSF ability to support text reformatting using a custom converter. However, we have not been able to make it work in JSC2_1.
For example, when a CachedRowSet Table Data Provider is used in a JSC2 application to show tabular data from a database, text columns from the database are automatically bound to StaticText components. Unfortunately, if the developer creates a custom converter and attaches it to the StaticText component, the converter is never called when the object to be converted is already of type String. If the object to be converted is a Date, CLOB or any other type the custom converter will be called - but not for type String. Thus the text is presented to the user directly as stored in the database witout the desired reformatting. The OutputText component on the other hand does appear to support custom converters but there is no possibility within the JSC2 IDE to substitute the OutputText component for the StaticText component in the CachedRowSet Table Data Provider.
This situation appears to be inconsistent with the JSF specification. Does anyone know if this is a bug or a deliberate design decision or a misuse of the IDE on our part? Last question; has anyone come across a workaround?

If you require clearing between the customer and vendor, the following requirements must be met:
The customer number must have been entered in the corresponding vendor master record.( Control tab)
The vendor number must have been entered in the corresponding customer master record.
The fields "Clrg with vend." or "Clrg with cust." must have been selected in both master records. (Payment transaction tab)

we have vendor as customer. I have created vendor master and customer master, and I defined the customer number in vendor master. but I didn't find fine "CLEARING VENDOR WITH CUSTOMER" indicator in Vendor master screen. I'm using ECC6 version.

In this scenario you can do the clearing with F-32.
1) Enter the customer number
2) Select OTHERS in additional selection
3)Then click the process open items and select the relevent filed
4) select the other account tab
Again click the other accoutns check box and click enter here you have to select the account type K

Javascript and html menu to be used with ADF/JSF using JDeveloper

I have a menu for a webpage that was originally built using html and javascript. I need to convert it to be used with JSF and ADF. In the html, the menu items used an unordered list inside of a div tag.

It is unclear to me how to work with my javascript menu to get the same look and feel with JSF or ADF as I did with html. Any insights would be great. Thanks.

If you do not find any existing JSF component (in ADF Faces/Trinidad, or any other JSF library) you can for sure extend/create your own component with specific renderer that will be the HTML/Javscript that you want.
So here some interesting pointers about the subject:

Rich Text Editor with Custom Text Attribute

Hello All,
We are using the latest version of Oracle Portal 10G. I have a need to create custom Attributes of the type text to let people enter a lot of text. But when User are in edit mode of an item where this custom attribute is used, the Rich Text Editor is not shown for entering the Text for the Custom Text Attribute. It shows a normal html text area. Has anyone ever used RTE with Custom Attribute?

The Problem with the Custom Attribute is not solved, but I have now compromised with the Situation and now I am not using a Custom attribute.
Rather, Now I am creating a Custom Item Type using Base Text Type (earlier i wanted to create custom item type at my own without any base item type). In this case now I will not be able to change the Lable of the RTE (that is "Text", when the Custom Item is in Edit Mode), but I hope that my users can understand that much.
I have created a template for portal pages. In the Template I can edit the Region Properties. When I edit the Region property of the region where I want to display my Custom Items. I get two Tabs on the top, Main and Attributes/Style. ON the main tab I can tell what type of region it should be, width etc, in my case it is item type region. And on the Attributes/Style tab, I can select from the availabe Attributes as which all Attributes I want to display. Here if i select only "Associated Functions" Attribute then normally portal should not render anything by default on the Page. It should rather make a call to the procedure which is associated with the Custom Item and as when I was creating the custom item type, I had clicked on "Display Procedure Results With Item", so portal should now display the result of my Procedure. So far it works without problem.
But the problem is that the Portal displays the text at its own also. As i have written that Portal should not display anything at its own, this doesn't work in this version of Portal for a Custom Item Type that is made using Base Text Item Type. For all others it has worked till now (I have create 50s of Custom item types).

Report with custom layout - formatting conditions

Hi,
There's a report with custom layout. What I need is to format some cells depending on the data they contain(like different background color). There's a tab named "Formatting Conditions" which should be meant for doing this and it works perfectly when report has tabular layout. But nothing happens in case of custom layout. Should this be done then in the "Report Layout Editor" and with Javascript? Portal version is 3.0.9.8.0.

Hi,
Some condtions like background color do not work in custom mode reports. This is because in case of custom reports the table html is specified by the user and the report renderer has no control over it.
