Zen Mozaic connecting to Ubuntu desktop Linux

Hi there
Im trying to connect my Mozaic to a Ubuntu 8.0 desktop comp.
For some reason it will not show up in the USB connection screen.
If I use the terminal (code:? lsusb) it will show on one of the ports but Im unable to read or wright to the device.
If I run ( code: mtp-detect) I get:
?Listing raw device(s)
No raw devices found.
Tried using Gnomad2 and Amrarok both wont see the Mozaic.
Both do work for my girlfriends Zen Micro.
Im currently running the most recent firmware .06.0
Anyone any tips or clue

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes the mp3 is read by ubuntu, but I cannot transfer files to it.
I've tried everything I've found on the internet of how to make it work. My Gnomad2 does not recognize it, although ny amarok does, but at the same time gets absolutely crazy and doesn't even permit me to listen to my songs, then transferring data is absolutely out of the question.
I've even updated to the new version of Ubuntu (0,) and nothing worked.
Please help me, I'm kinda desperate. I don't want to have to emulate windows in my computer.

ZEN Mozaic connection issues.

My ZEN Mozaic will connect to charge, but wont do anything else. I cant access it to view or add files.
I've tried it on another Desktop, and it worked, but it still doesnt work on my laptop, when i check the message its been giving me it shows that i dont seem to have the drivers for it. I've searched around and cant seem to find the drivers or anything else that could help. Now I'm wondering what i can do next to try and fix my problem.

Open your device manager window and plug-in your ZEN Mozaic. Check if it will be detected. Observe if there is a question mark/exclamation mark icon on the device.

Windows Vista 32 wont pick up Zen Mozaic, HELP!!!

Hi.
I recently got the Zen Mozaic 4gb. I download the software from the disc and installed it. The player itself has firmware version .04.06 installed but i cant even update that as the PC wont pick it up. Ive checked in the device manager and it isnt even showing there. I know the USB port is working.
I have windows vista home premium, 32 bit OS.
Anyone?

Are you using a USB hub? If yes, try connecting it directly to your computer. If you are connecting your player at the front ports, try using the rear USB port. A lot of people are reporting having detection issues when using the front USB ports. Another thing you can also try is use another USB cable (if you have a spare cable). See if that hel

You might have misread it but the link that you're looking is actually for the Zen Stone Plus w/ Built-In speaker while the new firmware is for Zen Stone (only) w/ Built-In speaker.

Creative zen mozaic 4GB, problems with albums

I have just bought my mozaic, the problem is I put my music in albums, but they are not visible, I can listen to them only as separate songs which is not comfortable as it is more than 700 songs. How to make the albums visible? I would be grateful for any advice. I tried to put them via the programme included and drag and drop but it doesn't work

Creative zen mozaic + standard speakers?

hello, this is a simple question from a noob:
is it possible to plugin standard speakers from my laptop into a creative zen mozaic and then listen to it that way?

The ZEN Mozaic uses a 3.5mm mini jack connector for audio output. That's where you connect your headphones to the player. You can connect your speakers to the player if it uses the same connector.

Creative Zen Mozaic: Conenctivity problems

Good day, I'm using both Vista Home Premium and XP (with SP 3 and WMP installed). While My Zen Mozaic (8gb) works fine on Vista, it can't be connected to XP. The player itself is recognized in Device manager though it is listed under Other Devices. Windows can't find any drivers for it (I've tried reinstalling device, no use). Any help is highly appreciated.

Zen Mozaic 8GB - Clock not working prope

I have a Zen Mozaic 8GB with the lastest firmware on board. I have notices that the clock appears to reset itself. This once so far, but used to be a regular problem for my Zen Microphoto 8GB.
Is anyone aware of a fix for this clock problem?

Did you download the right plugin for MediaSource? What firmware version are you using?
If you're using the v.xx PDE firmware, make sure you have downloaded and installed the following:
. Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver Upgrade version .30.03
2. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2
3. Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource
4. Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update
Install , then connect the player to the PC. Then install 2, 3 and 4 (the player must be connected for 2 to verify you have a Creative product).

Zen Mozaic Locking up

Zen Mozaic Locking upg When I use Creative Centrale to try to remove audio files recorded with the voice recording
feature, the player locks up after deleting one of them. I would like to be able to remove
them from the player itself but the menu system is so horrible I can't figure out how to do it
that way. If fact, I can't figure out how to even see what is on it. The 'Microphone'
menu option doesn't show anything under the list selection but items do show up when
I connect to my commputer. It just locks up after I select one for deletion.
The Creative Centrale software has to be the most frustrating and painful software
I have ever used, it is not intuiti've at all !!!
The player itself is OK, the computer software is awful.
How about trying to make it easier to use, Duh!

this has to be more of a suggestion for the administrators. i'm pretty sure they will look on to this issue.

Computer doesn't recognize my Zen Mozaic

I have a new Zen Mozaic MP3 player (about 2 months old). I have been using Windows Media player to transfer music from my PC (XP OS) to the player without any problems until now.
Now my computer doesn't recognize the MP3 player as being connected to the USB port. I uninstalled the Creative software that came with the player and then reinstalled and it didn't fix the problem. Also I've tried connecting other flash dri'ves and the computer recognizes them.... Also, shutting down and restarting the PC didn't help either.
Is anybody having this same issue?
Any help would be appreciated.

Zen mozaic problem

My zen mozaic player is about two months old. It has been working properly since i bought it until i used a charger that is not a creative product. I've been charging it for about an hour until i noticed it doesn't charge at all. Worst, it doesn't open anymore and when i used my creative charger again, it doesn't also charge anymore. Then i reset it, it opened but when i connect it to the computer it doesn't work properly. Creative centrale hangs and when i disconnect it then try to connect it again to the computer i noticed that it takes time for the computer to?detect my device. Unlike before that it can be easily detected by the computer right away. I've also tried to do the recovery mode, it has been working properly since then and it is now charging again using the creative charger adaptor. But now when i tried to connect it again in my computer, it has still problems with regards to the connection. It cannot be detected easily. My player turns off and blackout when i connect it to the computer. When i reset it, its working again. But when i try to connect it again to the computer, the same problem happens. Before it is charging when connected to pc, now it's not. Please share your thoughts about this with me. I love my zen mozaic and i love creative definitely. I'm not expecting my player to be faulty at this early. I wanted to have it the way i've had it for the past two months. Anyone? What will i do? Thanks in advance.

Hey dude.. I ve this player too and I really like it. But I haven t any problems with it. Did u try to reload the firmware (Don t know if this player has a support of it) Can you reinitialize it's And I would try to re-install the creative-centrale... But u have to answer one question: Why did you use the charger Why don t you carry your the usb-cable I ve a charger, too, but when you have a problem with it, I won t use it anyway. )Sorry for my english, beeing from germany and left school for over 7 years)

Zen Mozaic EZ300 8GB Speaker not working

I have the Zen Mozaic EZ300 8GB, got it for Christmas, charged it overnight last night through my PC after upgrading the firmware to the latest version.
Went to mess with it this morning and all seems well except... I have no sound at all from the speaker. I set the speaker to on, through the menu while playing a song... no sound. I crank the volume all the way up, still nothing. I unplug the headphones, the speaker icon comes on, play an MP3 or a video... no sound.
So, do I have a bad speaker or is there another setting somewhere I can enabe the speaker ? :/

Well, the player has never worked properly. This problem is since the first time I tried to use the player two days ago!!
Once the player is on, the keypad does just not respond, any of the keys. When I reset it, the player starts up again (the creative logo, the zen logo) and then the main menu displays, once there (where I am supposed to navigate through the menus and submenus) i just cannot do anything because of the keypad not responding.
I already tried this sequence: reset + pressing play/pause at the same time while I turn it on, and nothing happens, I mean, it is everything all over again, no response from the keypad, so i can't even select the option i want from the recovery mode display.
I have already connected the player through the usb cable to my PC and I can perfectly see the content of the player, all the music i previously saved, and even play it in my PC but doing nothing at all with the device!!
does that mean that my new player is just faulty!?!? what a disappointment, I thought what a great present was!
I would appreciate any new ideas! regards!
