Zero records returned in doc search using  ctxsys.context with datastore COMMON_DIR

I do this and get 0 records returned - help:
begin
ctx_ddl.create_preference('COMMON_DIR','FILE_DATASTORE');
ctx_ddl.set_attribute('COMMON_DIR','PATH','/mydocs');
end;
create table mytable(id number primary key,
docs varchar2(2000))TABLESPACE USERS;
insert into mytable values(111555,'first.txt');
commit;
-- check that the document "first" exist
-- and it has the word "design"
ed \mydocs\first.txt
create index myindex on mytable(docs)
indextype is ctxsys.context
parameters ('datastore COMMON_DIR');
select id from mytable where contains(docs,'design')>0;

Sorry use this:
select * from CTX_USER_INDEX_ERRORS;
Am I replying in the right place??
This is my first time using this thing... Yes, but there is also a special Oracle Text forum, please use
this the next time.

  • Previous DB Record Returned When Last Search Not Found

    I have a problem that nobody seems to know about or perhaps I'm just not seeing. Anyway, I put together a simple SQL manager javabean and other than my current issue, it's worked great. Here is my problem:
    SELECT * FROM site_mimetypes WHERE extension = 'PROPERTIES'
    SELECT * FROM site_mimetypes WHERE extension = 'DOC'
    SELECT * FROM site_mimetypes WHERE extension = 'NODICE'These queries run as they should at the db command-line:
    - first query returns empty
    - second query returns a record that matchs
    - third query returns empty
    Now, if I run this through the sql javabean, the third query returns the results of the second query. I've also tried using the sql "LIKE" command to no avail. This happens very consistantly. Whats funny though is if for example the extension I'm looking for doesn't exist at all in any form, meaning say I'm searching for the string "EXE", it will return properly as empty because there aren't any records that start with the letter "E". Now as I understood it, isn't the "=" operator supposed to find an exact match. It certainly works a 100 percent of the time during the first query and always when done from the db command-line. I'm using MySQL, Tomcat 5.0, JDK 1.5, Connector/J 3.0.... Below I'll post my sql javabean and below that, I'll post my simple JSP file that calls that javabean:

    My guess is that the third query is throwing an exception and the previous result set does not get cleared. To test this theory simply change the execution order of the queries. Also I'd rewrite the executeQuery() method as follows as it guarantees resource cleanup in the event of an exception and will display the exception to the console if one does get triggered:
    public void executeQuery(String statement, int column) throws SQLException
      try
        retrieveProperties(PROP_PATH + PROP_FILE);
        Class.forName(SQL_DRIVER);
        Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(SQL_URL, SQL_USER, SQL_PASS);
        Statement stat = conn.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
        ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery(statement);
        while(rs.next())
          this.SQL_RESULT = rs.getString(column);
      catch(Throwable th)
        th.printStackTrace();
      finally
        try
          if (rs != null)
           rs.close();
        catch(SQLException sqe)
        try
          if (stat != null)
           stat.close();
        catch(SQLException sqe)
        try
          if (conn != null)
           conn.close();
        catch(SQLException sqe)
    }

  • Inserting Records in an Array and using a constructor with it

    I badly need help on this! Please please please! I have been studying java for a short time only.
    Anyway, here goes: My project requires the following:
    Employee inputs the no. of video in the shelf. They have four classifications: Drama, Comedy, Action, and Thriller. Each video classification has different rates. The employee creates a video record containing the following information: 1. video ID number, 2. video classification, and 3. Price.
    The employee should display the classifications of videos available and the price. Only the available video tapes would be displayed according to the customer's chosen classification. When the customer chooses the video he wants to rent, the program will register and attach the name of the customer to the video number.
    I only need to use arrays, and NOT database to record the information.

    is it ok i i declare the drama_rate outside the video class?
    i have a list of variables on my videoupdate classYes. It's probably best to declare it static & then you can access it directly:
    public static float drama_rate = 100.0;
    rate = <the class name>.drama_rate;
    so, i should also include a customer no. both in the video and customer class.I would. You may want to list a bunch of videos and who currently has them. This way you don't have to search the customers AND the videos to do this.
    thanks =) i don't know either why we had to validate/invalidate,\
    but our applet doesnt refresh when >it is supposed to, so
    we just used this method. It wouldnt slow down the application, would it?Could you just revalidate()?
    the use of arrays. i havent finished with the program yet.
    i have the design already, i just couldnt put it in code.
    im not familiar with the use of multidimensional arrays-
    can i use this for the video and customer records i will need to store?Not sure what you're using arrays for, but here's an example of something I might do. Maybe it will be useful to you.
    Have you looked at HashMaps? You could use "Customer" as the key and then use an ArrayList of checked out Videos as the value:
    HashMap customers = new HashMap();
    ArrayList videos = new ArrayList();
    //Add the checked out videos to the list
    videos.add(video);
    <etc>
    // Add this customer and the list of videos he has checked out.
    customers.put(customer,videos);
    [\code]

  • Using JNDI Context with HTTP Tunneling (Detecting Connection Problems)

    Hi there,
    We are using connection to WL 5.1.0,SP6 cluster to create JNDI Context. Everything works fine until tcp/ip timeouts occur.
    After that ...
    Is there a way to subscribe for connection events?
    I don't want to use T3CLient for this, since WL advises not
    to do that. The recommended method is to create a Context and
    work with it.
    Help.
    For the curious here is one exception which we can not even

  • SID table /BIC/SUSITMSTR does not contain a zero record

    When checking my cube using RSRV, I get the error message above. I went to SE11 and confirmed that in our production system, the record with a SID = 0 is missing while it does exist in our development system. When I try to activate the master data, I get a message saying that it is already active.
    The only way that I know of to fix this is inserting the zero record into the table directly using ABAP like so:
    DATA WA_SUSITMSTR TYPE /BIC/SUSITMSTR.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-SID = 0.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-CHCKFL = 'X'.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-DATAFL = 'X'.
    WA_SUSITMSTR-INCFL = 'X'.
    INSERT INTO /BIC/SUSITMSTR VALUES WA_SUSITMSTR.
    COMMIT WORK.
    Does anyone know of a better / safer way to fix this? I do not like messing with SID tables directly unless absolutely necessary. Btw, reloading master data did not fix this issue.
    Thank you,
    Dennis

    Code fixed

    I did execute the ABAP code to manually create the zero SID and now things seem to be working fine. RSRV does also come up in green now.

  • Question: create index indextype is ctxsys.context whith NOLOGGING

    Dear All,
    I would like to ask a question about
    CREATE INDEX <index_name> ON <table_name> ( <index_col> ) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT PARAMETERS ( ... )maybe you experienced that ctxsys.context index creation takes long time.
    When you create a ctxsys.context index it is obvious to reduce the workload of the RDBMS. In this case I would like to reduce the I/O load with NOLOGGING option.
    Firstly, I try to put the index into a tablespace with no logging option. I don't know why but it is not working. Watching the alert.log file I diagnose that redo log generated simultaneously while index generated (there are no other activity on RDBMS).
    Q1 (optional): Why generating redo on object of NOLOGGING tablaspace ?
    I think there are better solution: use the NOLOGGIN option of the create index command which is very simple to use at column indexes.
    Which unclear to me how should I use in CREATE INDEX .. INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT command.
    Fllowing the CREATE INDEX command syntax seems oubvious - but it provides sytax error.
    Maybe this is why CREATE INDEX .. INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT needs something different for options: PL/SQL
    example captured (for options):
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference ('mystore', 'BASIC_STORAGE');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute ('mystore', 'I_INDEX_CLAUSE', 'tablespace users storage (initial 32k) compress 2');
    end;
    CREATE INDEX docs_idx ON my_docs(doc) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT PARAMETERS ('STORAGE mystore');Q: How can I specify NOLOGGING option? In the index command? In the attribute? What is the exact syntax if NOLOGGING is allowed at ctxsys.context?
    Oracle version: 11.1.0.6.0
    Any advice, highly appreciated.
    Istvan

    You have to specify nologging in  storage preference.
    See Avoiding Redo Logging for an Oracle Text Domain Index (Doc ID 432762.1)
    Example:
    begin
    ctx_ddl.drop_preference('my_storage');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.create_preference('my_storage','BASIC_STORAGE');
    end;
    begin
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('my_storage', 'i_table_clause','tablespace foo1 storage (initial 5M next 10M pctincrease 0 freelists 24 freelist groups 24) nologging');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('my_storage', 'k_table_clause','tablespace foo2 storage (initial 5M next 10M pctincrease 0) nologging');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('my_storage', 'r_table_clause','tablespace foo3 storage (initial 5M next 10M pctincrease 0) lob(DATA) store as (nocache nologging) nologging');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('my_storage', 'n_table_clause','tablespace foo4 storage (initial 5M next 10M pctincrease 0) nologging');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('my_storage', 'p_table_clause','tablespace foo5 storage (initial 5M next 10M pctincrease 0) nologging');
    ctx_ddl.set_attribute('my_storage', 'i_index_clause','tablespace foo6 storage (initial 5M next 10M pctincrease 0) compress 2 nologging');
    end;

  • Query returns zero records in coldfusion context, but works fine in Navicat

    I've got a query that's returning zero records when I load a page.  If I copy and paste that same query (from the debug output) into navicat, I get rows returned (as I expect).  Has anyone seen this?  It happens locally (CF9) AND remotely on our staging server (CF10).  Even weirder, it's a query that was previously working fine - I simply added an if statement to the where clause, and all of a sudden...

  • 0PS_WBS_EVA (earned value) returns zero records

    Hello,
    I've activated the business content datasources for Project systems. I'm unable to get any records for earned values from R/3. The following datasources show zero records:
    0PS_WBS_EVA
    0PS_NWA_EVA
    0PS_ORD_EVA
    0PS_NAE_EVA
    Can anyone tell me the tables to where these datasources are hitting? Help.SAP wasn't much of a help. I have already looked there.
    Are there any settings within ECC that need to be changed in order to get data for the above datasources?
    I'm getting data for the CO datasources related to project systems, such as 0CO_OM_WBS_6, 0CO_OM_OPA_6 and so on.
    Due to zero records from the above datasources, there is no data coming in the Earned Values cube of Project systems.
    Regards,
    Sameer

    Dear Oscar,
    Thanks for your response,
    The Actual Cost posted by our Functional Consultant is USD 250, but i am getting the Total Actual cost is ZERO (Sum of -250 +250) as i shown above.
    the posted  actual cost is +250, finally we need this figure only,
    if i do restriction on Sender receiver Indicater field with S than i will get Actual Cost 250, but in SAP standard RKF for Actual Cost there is no restriction on Sender receiver Indicater field (S & H)
    I hope you got my point now.
    Thanks

  • How do I count the number of records returned in the CMIS query

    How do I count the number of records returned in the query CMIS?
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:xRegionDefinition = \'RD_PROJETOS_EXCLUSIVOS\''}
    Euler Homero

    Hi Euler,
    interestingly enough, the reference guide for CMIS ( http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/CMIS_Query_Language ) that I found does not mention the COUNT function at all. On the other hand it states that: "The SELECT clause identifies which virtual columns to return in the result set. It can be either a comma-separated list of one or more queryNames of properties that are defined by queryable object types or * for all virtual columns."
    There are, however, some other posts like e.g. http://alfrescoshare.wordpress.com/2010/01/20/count-the-total-number-of-documents-in-alfresco-using-sql/ which state that they could make it working.
    Having asked in the WebCenter Portal forum, I assume that your content repository is WebCenter Content. The CMIS doc for the Content is available here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e15813.pdf (no COUNT there either). It does, however, mention explicitly that "CMIS queries return a Result Set where each Entry object will contain only the properties that were specified in the query.". This means your could rather investigate the Result Set. Note that there are also other means than CMIS how to get the requested result set (e.g. calling a search service directly via so-called RIDC).
    In the given context I am also interested what your use case is. OOTB CMIS in WebCenter Portal is used, for instance, in Content Presenter, where it is content rather than "parameters" what's displayed.

  • Product Search Using Oracle Text or By Any Other Methods using PL/SQL

    Hi All,
    I have requirement for product search using the product table which has around 5 million products. I Need to show top 100 disitnct products searched  in the following order
    1. = ProductDescription
    2. ProductDescription_%
    3. %_ProductDescription_%
    4. %_ProductDescription
    5. ProductDescription%
    6. %ProductDescription
    Where '_' is space.  If first two/three/or any criteria itslef gives me 100 records then i need not search for another patterns
    Table Structure Is as follows
    Create Table Tbl_Product_Lookup
        Barcode_number                Varchar2(9),
        Product_Description Varchar2(200),
        Product_Start_Date Date,
        Product_End_Date Date,
        Product_Price Number(12,4)
    Could you please help me implementing this one ? SLA for the search result is 2 seconds
    Thanks,
    Varun

    You could use an Oracle Text context index with a wordlist to speed up substring searches and return all rows that match any of your criteria, combined with a case statement to provide a ranking that can be ordered by within an inner query, then use rownum to limit the rows in an outer query.  You could also use the first_rows(n) hint to speed up the return of limited rows.  Please see the demonstration below.  If you decide to use Oracle Text, you may want to ask further questions in the Oracle Text sub-forum on this forum or space or whatever they call it now.

  • How-To Display the Number of Records Returned from a List to the User?

    We currently are using lists to identify accounts that meet various criteria. Because the territories vary from 4k to 60k customers the users have stated that they don't know the size of the list and therefore don't know if they need to refine the list. Currently they are exporting to Excel to look at the row count to see if they need to further refine their searches. This takes quite a while and while shuffling through many lists is a bit painful. Isn't there a way to just show the total records returned from the list down at the bottom of the screen where it allows you to see 25/50/75/100 records at a time?
    There is probably a simple way to do this but it is a large user dissatisfier at the time because we simply don't know how to make this show up. Again we are using lists and not analytics for simple lists at this time.

    Thanks Bobb. I can't believe that one wasn't in R1 :)
    Is there a link to the items being worked in the next release by any chance?

  • Webi Publication - Do not send report by email when zero records

    Hello,
    I have a report that I am scheduling.  It is using dynamic recipients and personalization based on the recipients.  Some of the recipients will have zero records for the report and I do not wish to send the report by email to them.  I have searched and found a "workaround" of adding a conditioned error in the footer to get a division by zero error if there are no records.  However, the report still runs and gets sent to the recipient with no data.  Any way to accomplish what I want to do?
    I am using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 Version: 14.1.2.1121
    My data sources are Excel, so I am not using a Universe for this particular application.
    Thank You in advance.

    I have been trying different options and the most promising one would be to generate a list of dynamic recipients that have data and output it to Excel file.  I can use that Excel file as data source for a Webi Document that is going to be used as the dynamic recipient document in a publication.
    One problem is I cannot automate the creation and replacement of an Excel file in InfoView folders.  This means I would have to update the Excel file manually.  Also it seems like the Webi document used for dynamic recipients must be refreshed and saved, otherwise the old list of recipients is used by the publication.
