Zoom changed

Zoom used to let me reduce the iTunes window to the very small "player" window. Now it includes a much larger window--ugh!! This is a downgrade for me.

OK, from reading other posts I realized I could achieve my goal by clicking the green button.

  • Why is CS6 Zoom change window size is different then previous versions?

    Why in CS6 when zoom changes window size and a folating window fits in Photoshop window or on other display screen do I get scroll bars where a select all selection marching ants are not visible on all four sides till I drag out the window to get rid of the scroll bars so I can see all of marching ants.  In preious versions of Photoshop space for scroll bars is present but there are no scrool bar, select all marching ants are visible on all four sides when an image's window fits in Photoshop window or on second display. Is there a way to make CS6 work like previous versions? Also if I just open a document and Photoshop fits it to Photoshop window or second display the floating window is correct without scroll bars. Zoon add then even when not needed....

    Without manually resizing each open document window on my Mac, Photoshop 13.x would be simply unusable.
    I hadn't posted anything on the subject because the system on which I run Ps 13.0.1 is based on a laptop (MacBook) literally rescued from the trash and with minimal specs.  The graphics card is not even involved in processing.
    I put up with it because I'm basically using it to run ACR 7.2RC1, then bring the converted and ACR-adjusted onto my regular working machine running CS4.
    In a nutshell, nothing will make the window fit the main monitor, not Fit To Window, nor 100% view, nor any shortcut.
    I need to drag the window manually from the lower right-hand corner in order for it to fit the monitor.  Otherwise, there are substantial gaps on the right and at the bottom.  I never run in tab view.
    For the sake of thoroughness:
    2007, 2GHz MacBook 2,1, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM (can use 3 GB), 160 GB internal boot disk, dedicated FireWire400 external HD for Ps scratch disk, external Time Machine HD.  Dual external monitors + built-in laptop screen Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
    The Mac-Intel is used for no other purpose than running ACR 7.2RC1 and the only other application I occasionally run on said Mac-Intel is TextEdit.
    My main working machine is a Power Mac (PPC) G5 Quad with 16 GB of RAM, on which 11.0.2 is the last version of Photoshop to run, so I have the Mac-Intel system described above just to run ACR 7.x under Photoshop 13.0.1.  I convert my raw files in ACR7.x open them in Ps 13.0.x and save them via Ethernet to an external HD connected to the G5 Quad for further processing in CS4.

  • TextEdit Zoom changes if document opened twice

    I enjoy using TextEdit for Word Processing. I have it set to Rich Text and Wrap to Page. However, when I save a document having Zoomed in, the next time it is opened it preserves the Zoomed in size, but if I open it a second time it reverts to Actual size. This is weird.
    I want to always open my saved documents zoomed, otherwise the text is too small.
    Nor do I want to change my font size.

    Have the exact same problem/issue!
    In much earlier versions of TextdEdit, there was a zoom button in the lower right-hand corner.  Set that, say to 150%, and save--and the next time, it would open up with the zoom you had set.
    Would like a solution, too, to this!
    In fact, just noticed that the window dimensions don't generally hold either.  So, the document re-opens with small text size and a large window size, too.  Neither of which is where I left it!
    Help!  Ayuda, por favor!

  • CS5.5 (PS 5.1) Rulers don't update when zoom changes.

    When the current image (docked or floating) is zoomed to a different percentage, the rulers don't change to the new setting.
    If the image is in a floating window, dragging one edge will refresh the rulers. If the image is docked on the tab bar, the quickest way to force a refresh I've found so far is to drag the ruler origin to an arbitrary location, and then double-click the origin (in the rulers) to snap it back to the image's origin.
    This problem could cause quite a lot of trouble for anyone building pixel-accurate images.
    If this is not happening for others using Photoshop 12.1 x64 on Win7, I'd like to hear about it, because it could be related to video cards or other variables.

    Animated zoom is when, on a single click and release, the image changes size smoothly from the original to the new zoom level - i.e., it appears to grow in size.  Non-animated zoom just jumps immediately to the new zoom level.  It is this jumping behavior we're seeking here.
    I have never seen a case where Animated Zoom is disabled and you can still see the smooth size change, which is apparently what you're describing.  You did close and reopen Photoshop after changing this value, right?

  • Page Zoom changes when clicking jump link

    I can't even begin to articulate this one clearly ...
    When I create a jump link in my pdf document, and click to have my page be viewed at 75% (or any other %), the pdf goes to 100% when I click on the link.
    My client would like for that to NOT happen ...
    Any ideas on how to avoid this?
    Thanks!

    Something to try:
    Use "go to page view" when creating a link with the Link Tool.
    When you are at the desired page, select the magnification you want from the tool bar.
    Be well...

  • Can I lock in a zoom level (e.g. Page View) so it won't change?

    I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent Adobe Reader from changing my zoom level.  I prefer to read with the zoom level set to Fit Page.  Every time I click on a bookmark to jump to another page in the document, the zoom level changes to Fit Width (I think).  This is extremely annoying because I have to keep changing the view back to Fit Page.  In preferences I have put the default zoom to Fit Page, but that only determines how it comes up initially.  When I click on a bookmark it changes again.
    I don't understand why the zoom changes when you click a bookmark at all.  Why would I want the zoom to change on me?
    FYI, I'm using Reader XI (11.0.08).
    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

    Thanks CtDave.  I don't have anything besides the free reader, so I did some further research on the web and found a solution that is pretty "brute force", but is an option for others that only have the free reader.  Here is a link to the full description:
    http://superuser.com/questions/306803/zooming-size-of-pdf-files-and-bookmarks
    Here is the basics:  You can use a text editor and edit the PDF file.  Once in the text editor you can search for /FitH or /Fit (there surely are other codes, but those are the only ones I know of).  These are codes that tell Acrobat what kind of zoom level to apply to the destination of a jump.  So the bookmarks should all have these.  Simply do a search and replace with /XYZ.  The /XYZ code tells Acrobat to leave the zoom level as it already is.
    It might sound a bit weird, but I tried it on multiple files I was having trouble with and it worked great.  Of course, my suggestion would be to make backup copy of the file before doing this in case something goes wrong.
    Thanks.

  • Change default zoom for Safari

    I have a 11" MBA and find there are two much blank space on both sides.  Can someone advise me how to change the default zoom level.  Thanks!

    I implemented the MacWorld suggestion.  I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 (11G63) and Safari 6.0.1 (7536.26.14).  I found that the 'global' zoom changes were problematic — meaning that on some web sites the new override zoom setting was correct but on others the override zoom changes were not.  I do not have time to research the web pages in question to see if there was a common denominator for this inconsistency.
    Moreover, when I tried to change my zoom setting a second time, Safari 'flashed' the new setting momentarily and then immediately displayed the first setting as noted above.  Deleting the CSS file reference within Safari preferences had no effect on how Safari displayed each web page - nor did moving/deleting the CSS file itself.  I also tried the following with no effect this behavior:
    Stop/start of Safari
    Reseting Safari
    Rebooting my MBP
    Resetting OS X file permissions from 644 username staff to 777 root wheel
    My 'fix' was to move/delete the $HOME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.safari.plist file so that this file was recreated by Safari the next time I started this app.  I surmised that somehow OS X was retaining the first CSS file override zoom setting but not updating it with subsequent changes (or deletions).  Be forewarned that by regenerating this plist some Safari customizations (toolbar, etc.) will be lost.
    I hope this information will help others moving forward...

  • How can I make a website I created in dreamweaver adjust according to the zoom?

    Ok so I made a website and its fine but at the top I put an image of my logo and the name of my company (combined into 1 picture). And in this picture, whenever I change the zoom in my web browser or look at it from a computer with a different resolution, it changes size in a way that is disproportional with the content of the site. The website is http://hes.us.com  On dreamweaver I made the picture size even with the content of the site but on the web browser it changes wierd. Any help I can get would be great. And if possible, give detail because i'm a beginner in web design. Like if you give me code, where would I put the code? Details like that. Thanks

    And in this picture, whenever I change the zoom in my web browser or look at it from a computer with a different resolution, it changes size
    Resolution or zoom changes have no effect at all on the rendering of your page or its contents.  A given image/page will look identical on any resolution as long as you keep the browser viewport width the same pixel size.

  • Annoying problem with speed change tools in FC7

    I have a clip that is 8 seconds long. Halfway into the clip I want to slow down and freeze on the end frame. How do I do this?

    This is trickier than it could be.
    Double-click the clip in the Timeline to load the clip in the Viewer.
    Click on the Motion tab and open the Speed area (Time Remap in FCP6).
    Move to half-way through your clip.
    Click the Insert/Delete Keyframe button to create a new keyframe.
    Press the right arrow to move forward one frame and press the button again to create a second keyframe.
    Right-click that second keyframe in the keyframe graph and choose Smooth. You may need to zoom in (command-plus) to get the right one.
    Press the down arrow to jump to the end of your clip and press the Insert/Delete Keyframe button a third time to create a new keyframe at the end of the clip.
    In the keyframe graph, drag this final keyframe down a little. The curve should dip to a flat line to indicate a freeze frame. You may need to tweak the bezier handle on the second keyframe to adjust the speed ramp.
    This feature isn't new, and for complex tasks it's still better than the new speed tool in FCP7. If you find it confusing, remember that horizontal movement takes you through the sequence and vertical movement takes you through the clip. If the line goes up, left to right, it's going forward. Down, left to right, is backward. Steeper lines (relatively speaking, because zooming changes angles) are faster, and a flat line is a freeze frame.

  • Screen size changing

    Hi all.
    I'm a new Toshiba laptop owner. I had a Dell Studio but the dc jack took a dump and it was going to cost more to fix it then to replace the whole system. I purchsed the satellite laptop and really like it.
    I am having an issue while on the internet. As I am scrolling on the mouse pad, the viewing screen just shrinks and alot of it is inaccessible. CTRL + works to get out of it but it is getting annoying.
    Is there any way to lock the screen from shrinking unless I use the CTRL - shortcut?

    Misterx,
    Thank you for the reply. I don't think it is a pinch and zoom issue. I am familar with that on cell phone etc. The zoom changes on all screens changes for some reason. When it changes, the mouse pointer changes to a little things that points in all directions up - down - right - left. I can make it happen my holding down the mouse pas with one finger and sliding a finger to the left to make the zoom/screen smaller and to the right to make the zoom/screen larger. Any help would be great.

  • How to avoid jerky zoom shift while shooting videos?

    Hi!
    Recently I purchased EOS 70D with kit lens (EF-S 18-55 STM) and tele-zoom (EF-S 55-250 STM). Both lenses give excellent result for still photos.
    But while video shooting, I notice considerable jerk in the video due to adjustment in the zoom ring of the lenses. Less noticeable nuissance in the video if I make sudden turn of the zoom ring but very much noticeable while making slow & gradual shift on the zoom ring. Thus an inferior video result in comparison to cheaper cameras that have TELE / WIDE zoom buttons! As such the zoom ring is quite free to rotate & no mechanical defect on the lens body.
    Any suggestioins please?

    In professional video they REALLY RESIST the urge to "zoom" while shooting.  I wont say it's "never" done... it is, but it's something that should be done sparingly as zooming in general is very distracting.
    If you want a professional result, you can pre-plan focus changes and zoom changes prior to shooting the clip.
    Pro videographers will go far as to wrap a piece of masking or gaffers tape around the lens ring, and put marks on focus or zoom positions (which were pre-tested before the shot).  When they're ready to perform the zoom or focus change, they can visually look at the marks and do a smoother transition from one mark to the next.
    For a really really professional result... the camea is mounted on a rail or boom and the zoom ring isn't touched at all.
    Keep in mind these lenses are not "parfocal" which means if you set it to any given focal length, focus it to your satisfaction, then zoom to a different focal length, the lens will require re-focusing (there are only a few true "parfocal" lenses where the focus does not change at all as you zoom.)

  • Fancy-zoom

    I have applied some fancy-zoom popups on my web site. As a test, for now. Works great and looks great. However, I should apply these popups to all pages, but won't until I know one thing for sure.
    Will I have to add the fancy-zoom tags to the page.html file with every alteration and publication to MobileMe?

    Here's a solution to add FancyZoom to an iWeb page without the hassle of editing the iWeb files after publishing.
    First the page : http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/Fancy/Fancy.html
    Click the link on the page to open the widget-markup file and look at the source. This is the code you paste in the HTML Snippet :
    var headID = parent.document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];
    var newScript = parent.document.createElement('script');
    newScript.type = 'text/javascript';
    newScript.src = 'fancy-zoom/FancyZoom.js';
    headID.appendChild(newScript);
    var headID = parent.document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];
    var newScript = parent.document.createElement('script');
    newScript.type = 'text/javascript';
    newScript.src = 'fancy-zoom/FancyZoomHTML.js';
    headID.appendChild(newScript);
    setTimeout('window.parent.setupZoom()',500);
    The timeout is needed to allow the browser to set up everything. Too short a time and the setup will fail. It will fail too, when a visitor can't wait to click the image to zoom.
    The setupZoom() is usually added in the <body> element in the onLoad() JavaScript function.
    It is assumed that the fancy-zoom folder is INSIDE the Sitename folder.
    Personally I would keep non-iWeb files outside the Sites folder. When you do a complete re-publish, iWeb will delete everything in the Sites folder and you have to start over again.
    Besides that, if you have more than one Site, you need only one fancy-zoom folder.
    If you keep the fancy-zoom folder outside the Sitename folder you have to edit the FancyZoom.js file.
    Open the file in a plaintext editor and find :
    var zoomImagesURI='fancy-zoom/'
    Change it to :
    var zoomImagesURI='../fancy-zoom/'
    That should work.
    Edit : The Sitename folder is the name of your iWeb site. NOT the iDisk>Web>Sites folder

  • Permanent zoom level within Reading pane

    Folks
    I found a way to set the zoom level permanent if one opens an email message in its own window. However, I can't find anything for the reading pane. Does anybody know how to set the reading pane to 110% for all messages, even if close and open Outlook?
    http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/adjust-outlooks-zoom-setting/#comment-183349
    Thx

    Hi,
    We can not make the zoom change permanently for Reading Pane on Outlook side, but you can try to find some third-party add-in to achieve the goal.
    As a workaround, we can convert HTML messages to Plain Text and then customize the font size for Plain Text messages. For more information, please refer:

  • Game not handling screen scaling when using zoom on Internet explorer on Windows 8

    Hi,
    I'm completely stuck trying to fix a bug in one of our games where any user with Windows 8 playing using Internet explorer have issues with screen scaling and input when their browser is not at 100% zoom level.
    Today, I've tracked it down to a bug in Flash player that was reported 9 months ago, and which seems to have been fixed in flash player 11.9 ([MSFT 3612555][Win 8] - High DPI Displays - Corrects an issue where some content was not scaling with zoom changes). However, it is still occuring for our users. I have the latest flash player installed (13.0.0.206), and the latest flex sdk installed (4.6). Additionally, I'm targeting version 12 when compiling. I'm not sure what to do next, has anyone come across this problem in the past?
    Thanks,
    Graeme.

    Easy solution found.
    It was using the WDS boot image known as "wdsmgfw.efi".
    For proper UEFI mode booting with PXE, remove the original wdsmgfw.efi and make a copy of the file bootmgfw.efi in your RemoteInstall\Boot\x64 folder, and rename that copy of bootmgfw.efi to wdsmgfe.efi.

    Known Issues:
    The following behaviors will be modified in Safari 6.1 and higher in Safe Mode:
    AIR Badge Installs - AIR Badge Installer will not launch an installer when running Safari 7 in Safe Mode.  Users will instead see a dialog with a link to more details and workarounds on an Adobe website.
    Adobe Connect Plug-In Install - The Connect Plug-In Express Install will no longer work on Safari 7 in Safe Mode.  Users will instead see a dialog with a link to more details on an Adobe website.
    Flash Player Global Settings - When a users launches the Global Settings menu from the Flash Player context menu on Safari 7 in Safe Mode, the user will be taken to the classic SWF-based preferences menu on an Adobe website, instead of the native Flash Player settings UI in the MacOS Control Panel.
    LocalConnection - When a LocalConnection is constructed from a SWF hosted in Safe Mode, it may only establish a connection with other SWFs also hosted in Safe Mode.  If a LocalConnection is constructed from a tab with Safe Mode disabled, it will not be able to communicate with a SWF in a Safe Mode tab.
