1099 suppliers in AP

what is 1099 suppliers ? Why in AP, few suppliers are segregating to 1099 suppliers?
Thanks
prasad.

Prasad,
1099s are a United State thing, to report payments made to inincorporated suppliers to the US Federal Government. The government then checks that against the supplier's tax return to make sure the supplier has fully reported all his income on his tax return. Normally you will have a minority of suppliers who are not incorporated. This is why you will only have a small number of suppliers that you have to file 1099 forms for. The US Federal Government (IRS) has set up the rules on what suppliers you need to file 1099s for. For more information, talk to the person in accounting who files the 1099 returns with the US Federal government.

    Hi Ajit
You can purge invoices , provided following conditions should match
If you are purging invoices, the Purge program purges related invoice
distributions, invoice approvals, and invoice batches. You can purge
invoices that meet the following criteria:
    • Last Update Dates of the invoice and its distributions, and the
Invoice Date, is less than or equal to the Last Activity Date
    • Invoice is fully paid or is a zero–amount invoice
    • Invoice is fully posted
    • Invoice does not have any 1099 distributions, and is not for a
    1099 supplier
    • Invoice was not generated by a recurring invoice template
    • Invoice is not a prepayment, and no prepayments have been
    applied to the invoice
    • All of the invoice’s payments meet the Payment Purge Criteria
    • No open encumbrances are associated with the invoice
    • Invoice is not Oracle Projects related
    • All purchase orders referencing the invoice meet the Purchase
Order Purge Criteria (this condition applies only when you
choose Matched Invoices and POs for the purge category)
    • If Oracle Assets is installed, all of the invoice’s distributions were
    tested by Mass Additions

  • How to track the history of supplier sites used for tax reporting (1099)

    Hi,
Oracle financials doesn't allow two supplier sites setup as tax reportable sites (Unless one is inactive). Suppose if the supplier uses site1 for the year 2009 and site 2 for 2010 and now there is site3 setup as tax reportable. All three sites were setup in 2009 and all three sites are active. Supplier chosen different sites for each year as their tax reportable site.
How do we know which site oracle used to send 1099 for 2009 & 2010? How to track the history of supplier sites used for tax reporting (1099) in previous years?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ram

Would the begin_date, end_date and status columns on HZ_PARTY_SITES_USES be any good? Our R12 installations is too new to have accumulated much data yet, but I would look in those columns first.

  • Type_1099 error after submitting supplier open interface import

    Hi,
I am working on supplier Importing Interface. I have to import suppliers, and supplier site information into base tables.
I successfully loaded the data into AP_SUPPLIER_INT and AP_SUPPLIER_SITE_INT interface tables. After submitting 'SUPPLIER OPEN INTERFACE IMPORT' program to move data from interface to base table, i am getting below error.
ERROR: '1099 Type is inconsistent' for a particular vendor.
I checked type_1099 validation with the base table AP_INCOME_TAX_TYPES.INCOME_TAX_TYPE, validation was fine.
Could anyone has any idea, how to solve this error.
    Thanks in advance.

  • 1099 Issues in ECC6 -Urgen)

This is a new ECC6 implementation and first time 1099 reporting from SAP
We are facing two issues with 1099-MISC reporting. I guess these are not unique problems and you might have faced in other projects as well.
    1. We have multiple vendor records/numbers for a vendor with same name and tax id but with different addresses. Invoices have also been paid to these different vendor ids. When generating a 1099 report how can we club these Vendor IDs based on Tax ID so that report is generated for only one vendor id. Please note that we are not using an alternative payee feature in this project.
    2. This is quite absurd but when we are taking a printout of the 1099-MISC SAPSCRIPT form for 2008 (which was uploaded from SAP Note 1279366), Box no.11 and 12 are not coming proper. These boxes are greyed out or disabled in actual sample IRS copies but in the printout they are almost blank with few small dots here and there as if some text was printed in it and some one tried to erase it. I think IRS may reject these forms. Please revert if anyone else also faced same issue? If yes, what is the solution?

    Hi,
the Form which SAP supplied is not good and it is not properly scanned. Hence, we had a same kind of issue and we have scanned the bitmap form and corrected the form using our ABAP team.
    hope this will help

  • Importance of 1099 vendors.

    HI sap guru's
could any one pls clarify the diff b/w vendor and 1099 vendors. is there any specific reasons toser vendor as a 1099 vendor. pls give some real time examples.
    thanks in advance.
    regards,
    siva

    Hi Siva Reddy,
A vendor is an entity is business who supplies you goods and services. Example- Raw material supplier for your company.
    ============================================================
According to regulations, any independent contractors that you paid more than $600 in the prior fiscal year be issued an IRS Form 1099 in US. Independent contractors (ICs) are simply people who are in business for themselves. They earn their livelihoods from their own independent businesses instead of depending upon an employer to earn a living. I
Example- Consultants, freelancers, the self-employed and even entrepreneurs and business owners.
In othe rwords you can say that any vendor to whom an agency must report payment for goods or services to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are 1099 venodrs.
Hope this solves ur query. please assign points and close the thread.

  • 1099 forms

The 1099 form in 2007 PL11 prints one vendor to a page. The laser form available is 2 to a page. The standard layout should match "out of the box". thanks,

    Hi Solumun,
We send out the 1099-MISC 'Miscellaneous Income' form to our Suppliers and Contractors. I believe that last year, the Patches for 2007 came out at the beginning or mid-December.

  • 1099 Form-IRS filing

    Hi Experts,
I am generating a text file at local system.
In the line of transmitter record (T record), I am getting additional data (name/add/e-mail id/) which was not entered in transmitter data when I was executing the program.
I think this unwanted data is of SAP standard which might be maintained somewhere in the system.
Please help me in ascertaining how to delete that data from the system so that it does not appear in the files generated by the program.
    Thanks,
    Nitish

As the supplier of the 1099 prep software SAP has included their own contact details in the T record.  This is in agreement with the IRS 1099 regulations.
You should not remove this information unless you are substantially re-writing the 1099 reporting program.

  • 1099 Payables 2008

    Hi to All,
We are currently in the process of creating 1099 payables for 2008. Going thru oracle documents. We have corrected all supplier info and invoice's. We are at the stage of pinting 1099 Forms. The problem we have is that we we print 1099 Forms. A vendors information does not print on the second part of 1099-misc form.
If someone has had the same problems...please share how this issue was fixed.
    Currently on 11.5.9

    Hi Cintia,
I attempted to implement the note via SNOTE.  I get the message 'cannot be implemented' probably because the attachment is a zipped file and not an R/3 object of some sort. I then downloaded the zip file to my desktop.  The zip file contains two .p6b files.  What txn do you use to import the files? SMARTFORMS?
    Thanks,

  • 1099 Question for sales tax

When we add additional distribution lines to an invoice for sales tax the income tax type field is automatically populated based on the supplier setup. Should sales tax lines be included in the total income reported on a 1099?

When we add additional distribution lines to an
invoice for sales tax the income tax type field is
automatically populated based on the supplier setup.
Should sales tax lines be included in the total
income reported on a 1099?I am not much aware of it functionally...but last year when I got the 1099's printed out, the printed copies did not have sales tax as a separate line item.

You have 3 different posts into separate forums. Not a good idea cross posting into the wrong subs. I'll consolidate the issues concerning your p6-2302eam desktop.
    (1) posted in laptop sub: Buying a graphic card based on a cheap price (your words).  The replacement card needs to be predicated on the software (game). A cheap low end card does nothing but frustrate. What are your gaming desires?

  • Generating 1099 for Vendors (PCard Vendors)

    Hi,
We are in the process of generating 1099 for PCard Vendor from Oracle Applications 11.5.10, which will be filed with the IRS. The following are the fields which needs to be populated.
    1. TIN No
    2. Merchant Name
    3. Address
    4. City
    5. State
    6. Zip
    7. Amount Paid
I have information for all of the above, but not the Address of the Merchant Name. I was wondering if anybody out there faced the same issue and how did you guys go about getting a solution for this. I plan to generate the file manually and not use the Oracle seeded process.
The Address is a Required field for the IRS.
Did anybody of you use a 3rd party Web Service to get Address? If so which one ? btw the TIN is not a required field for the IRS (and we dont have TIN numbers for our PCard Vendors). I would really appreciate if you could let me know.
    thanks
    Kiran Ramachandra __._

    Kiran,
We have the same question. I pressed the bank for the data in the download but they said they did not have it in the transaction file.
No other ideas - we are doing it manually since we limit pCard use to a select group of Suppliers.

  • When I login to my bank, I get the message: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Have new MacBook Air with Yosemite. How to solve this problem?

When I try to login to the website of my bank, I get the following error message:
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
I have a new MacBook Air with OS Yosemite installed.
What is the problem and how can I solve it?

Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
    Back up all data.
Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    com.apple.idms.appleid.prd
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

  • I had an Intel-iMac fried by lightening. UPS, surge protectors but it happened as I was reaching to unplug.  Cold now.  Could it just be the power supply?  Can I replace that myself?

This is the full question since I couldn't get it all in the box.
I have some complex questions regarding an iMac, a Time-Machine backup, and iTunes on an iPod.
I live about halfway up an extinct volcano about 12 miles north of San Jose Costa Rica.  Some months ago, we had a thunderstorm and as I reached to unplug my computers lightening struck about 50 meters from my house.  I had an iMac with a 3-Tb external backup drive, a PC laptop and a laser printer on the same power strip.  There was a definite surge and the light brighten and then power was lost for a few minutes.
When power was restored, the PC and the laser printer seemed to work fine but the iMac was cold.
First questions:  Is is possible that the power supply was fried and not other essential parts?  Would it be worthwhile to replace the power supply?  Can I, with limited experience and tools do it or need I take it to a technician?  My concern is that if the hard-drive is good, there is personal information on it that I don't want to risk.
Next question:  Do I need to replace the hard-drive before taking it for service?  How hard is that, can I do it? I have seen videos of the drive replacement on-line.
Those are my iMac questions, now the questions about backup restoration.
If there is a saving grace with this it is that the Time-Machine backup seems fine although I have only accessed the data through Finder.  I replaced the iMac with a Macbook Air with significantly less mass storage and I can't just move files to the Macbook.  My problem is that I have an iTunes library of some 10,000 songs on the backup and until recently on a 160 Gb iPod which was old and it crashed.  I have replaced the iPod but have not tried to restore the iTunes library to it because of my confusion about how to do that.  Can anyone tell me how I might do that or give me any insight into the process?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Quite possible, but working on iMacs is not easy, & PSU might be prohibitive.
Hopefully the Drive might have info on it, but even pulling that out can be a chore.
