After update to iOS 5 my iPad-1 can't add new events to Calendar and Contacts

After update to iOS 5 my iPad-1 (and iPhone 4) lost "+" symbol to add new events to Contacts /stock iOS-5 Contacts app/, and can't edit old contacts - i can't change user photo, can't add phone number, ect.and thereis no opportunity to add new contact.
Long Tap is not working correctly.
And - some problems with iPad-1 stock iOS-5 Calendar - lost "+" symbol and there is no oppotunity to add new events to Calendar.

This is very important for me because I am a school teacher and can't stay without those functions
All iPad-1 users,please check these bugs after update of IOS 5. And inform in this topic if you see these bugs or not.

It may just be a glitch. Try going into the app store signing out, then sign back in and see if it clears up.

I am getting an ' unknown error (-50) every time I try to back up any of my I phones or iPad. iPhoto will not sins. Music, Books Calendars and Contacts all sync OK.

I am stil getting error message: unknown error (-50) when I try to synce iPhotos. Doesnt matter what device ( iPad mini, iPhone4s or iPhone3s), or how I connect (USB or WiFi).

After updating to iOS 8.3 I can now no longer back up my iPhone 6 to iCloud?

It says I do not have enough storage space. But I do. It has been backing up perfectly fine until I updated to iOS 8.3 and now it says I need an extra 3.4 GB of storage space? I have all apps turned off for backing up except my photos. I only have 1.3 GB of photos. No other old backups or anything. I can't figure out what this other 3.4 GB of space is and why this just happened after updating to iOS 8.3. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Error-1 generally indicates a hardware failure. You'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

using safari or a computer, go to apple.com. select store, and in the upper right, try to log into your account. See if they give you a hint at what the issue is, but it sounds like there is some issue with your account - probably easily fixable.

Ical missing the can't add new events! Help?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.

Apple calendar:can't assign new event to calendar of choice

I use apple calendear, for which I've created several calendars: work, home, family, kids, etc.
I just realized, I no longer can assign events to the calendars I want. I face a much shorter list of alternatives than I had previously.

I haven't had a problem using the following
Open calendar in the month view
Go to the date you want the event
Touch the day and then menu
Touch add new event
The screen should change to a text entry and event description, time, place, etc
Enter data and then save I forget to touch the save sometimes and you have to start over.

I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not turning off. I'm not sure if you have tried this, but I recommend first trying to reset your iPhone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

How can I add news articles to website and dynamically update headlines without MySQL?

Hi guys,
I update a number of website for athletes with news articles...
I'm doing it manually at the moment so I have to update:
    1. news.php (with date and article title which links to the article)
    2. News Article (with title, date and article text)
    3. includes/latestNews.php (an include latest 3-4 article dates and headline which links to the article - displays on every page via include)
The News Article is a plain and simple PHP file which is stored in a folder 'assets/news/' and the file is named according to date i.e. a news article today would be 130420 (as in 2013 year, 04 month, 20 day) so they sit in chronological order in the 'news' folder. There is a template page file called viewArticle.php which drags in the appropriate news article by link i.e. viewArticle.php?id=130420
At the moment, I have to update news.php, latestNews.php and the individual article individually and manually.
What I would like to do is...
...create, edit and add the News Article file (130420) to the 'news' foler as I am currently doing. But, with PHP, set news.php and latestNews.php to read the files in the 'assets/news/' folder to display the latest 4 article dates and linked headlines (for latestNews.php) and display all the dates and linked headlines (for news.php).
I don't know anything about databases and can't get my head around them so I would rather do it with PHP code. Is this possible?

You could then automate much of what you're attempting with a few well chosen point-and-click plugins without touching any code.

Can't add New Events

I have the server all set up and I set up my computer to access the iCal server. Everything looks fine, soon as I add an event I get a an error message. If I remove the event it goes away. I need to be able to add events on the server .
Both the server and the desktop have been updated to 10.5.2
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can´t add new events to iCal :(

Hey there,
i´ve got a problem with my iCal. The little calendar on the left corner is stuck to January 2001 and i can´t add a new event. The other thing is that i can´t close the programm normally. I really hope you cann help me because i am not really sure what to do. I allready try to delete the cache and tried to use it with a different user account but nothing is working so far.
So i really hope for help

Often iCal display problems can be corrected by refreshing the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

After updating to OS5, my iphone 4 can not send mail using wi fi and 3G.. only 1 or the other. It will not switch servers from using ATT 3G server to then using WiFi

I have called my internet provider, my email server company and AT&T. All my settings are fine and everything was fine before the OS5 upgrade. I can send email using WiFi when I have my email host as the outgoing server and can send email 3G using ATT server only when on 3G. The phone is not switching back and forth servers from wi fi connection to 3G.

It sounds like you are unable to connect to your home Wi-Fi suddenly on 2 different iOS devices. I would be interested to know if the affected phones are able to connect to a different Wi-Fi connection, but barring that I would use the following article to help troubleshoot the devices and the Wi-Fi connection:

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.

Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.

Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
