Converting draft document to invoice document

Hi everyone -- new SBO developer here, trying to come up to speed on the SDK.  I'm curious how you manage to "convert" an existing draft document (in my case, a draft A/R invoice) to an actual A/R invoice, and then add it at the same time.  Say, for instance, you were to add an "Add" button to the Document Drafts form (3002) so the system would convert the draft to an actual document (just like it does when you double-click the matrix line) and then add that document right then-and-there.
Right now, my guess is that you simply change several properties on the document object, but I cannot figure out which ones.  I'm assuming I can call the Add method once I change the right properties.  Am I on the right track?

Hi Anthony,
Surprisingly, you cannot "convert" a draft document into a real one.
If I remember correctly, you will have to copy the data (header + line-by-line) into the invoice (When you want to create an Invoice e.g. based on an order it is a bit easier, but still you have to touch every line setting the reference to the base document... - check-out the sample code in the helpfile + the SDK "COM DI" samples).
DI API is very much "straightforward" in such things.
As you certainly already discovered, you have to specify the exact object type when you request a business object (it's just a "container"/reference - no real object on your side of the interface) from Company object.
This means that in DI API itself would have to happen some more things than just to set a value in case you wanted to set the "type" from draft e.g. to invoice...
Therefore this feature is unfortunately not yet available.

    actually what table you have mentioned in your thread that table is for Accounting document, it doesn't matter whether the accounting document is created during good receipt or Invoice receipt
    hence BKPF and BSEG is accounting table for invoice as well

    What is the difference between holding a invoice document (MIRO) and parking a document (MIR7).
    I hope each having same function.
    Again I want to see a report which will show me hold invoice document
    Again what is the difference between parked and parked as complete.(MIR5)

    You can refer to the help screen int the respective MIR7 scree to know definition of each function.
    Holding Invoice Documents
    If you are interrupted while entering or parking an invoice, you can hold the data you have already entered, such as the list field selections, header data, and item data. The system creates an invoice document but does not make any checks, updates, or postings. When you continue processing the held document later, the system proposes the data already entered.
    Parking Invoice Documents
    You create an invoice document in document parking. Choose the disk icon Save parked document to do this. Before saving the data, the system performs consistency checks.Subsequently, you can still change, delete, or post parked documents, or save them as complete.
    Use document parking if:
    1. Information required for posting the invoice document is missing in the invoice document and you do not want to have to enter again the data already entered
    2. The balance is not zero
    3. The following updates are to take place:
    Log of document changes
    Informative purchase order history
    Data for advance tax returns
    Index for checking for duplicate invoices
    Vendor open items
    Vendor open items for parked documents
    Saving Invoice Documents as Complete
    You create an invoice document in document parking. Choose Save as complete to do this. Before saving the data, the system performs consistency checks. In the event of errors, the data is not saved, but is presented for correction instead. Subsequently, you can still change, delete, or post Documents complete for posting.
    Use Save as complete if:
    1. No more changes are to be made to the invoice document
    2. The balance is zero
    3. The invoice document is to be parked for posting but not posted yet

  • Link between Invoice document items and Accounting document items

    Hello, Colleagues.
    Can you help me, please. I don't solved next problem. I should associate Invoice document (Create with MIRO) items from tab "PO reference" with items from tab "G/L account" or with tax items Follow-on accounting document. Invoice document can contain items with amount equals 0 and this items don't add to the tab "G/L account" and to the items accounting document. So Invoice document can contain items with material code greate than one.
    Or link between RSEG <-> BSEG or link between RSEG <-> RBCO.

  • Capturing converting draft to real document event

    Hi all
    i wish to capture the event of turning a draft document of type warehouse transfer to a real document. in order to do so i want to capture the click event on the "Add" button in the document transfer draft form. the  problem is the draft and the real document forms have the same type. my question is how can i differntiate when i'm in a warehouse transfer draft form and not in warehouse transfer real document form?

    The first thing i thought out is to check if there is such document in the draft-table(ODRF). When you get the Add-click event, do the query that selects from the ODRF table the document with the specific parameters - Docnum(from the 260 EditBox on the warehouse transfer form), DocDate and ObjType (67). If the record is found - it's an adding the document from the draft, if not found - it's from the real document...

    The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
    If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
    Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
    Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
    Do cleanup.

  • Account determination error in Invoice document posting

    Problem - When generating the invoice document to customer, an error is displayed - Document is saved (Account determination error). As a consequence of this step, the invoicing is not able to create FI document
    My Analysis-
    Account determination is done in G/L account assignment (VKOA screen)
    For my billing document, the system is not able to find the GL account (below are screenshots)
    In VKOA screen, I already defined the GL account determination using KOFI procedure.
    I initially defined in table 2 Cust.Grp/Account Key and it didnt work.
    So I defined in both the tables 1 as well - Cust.Grp/MaterialGrp/AcctKey
    But still system is not reading the tables and obtaining the GL account no
    Any advice on why its not working?

    As per the screen shots i could observe that you didn't maintained acct asst grp of customer.
    check the acct asst grp of customer field in billing tab is maintained or not.
    other possible reason may be in your pricing procedure -check whether the accounting keys are maintained or not.
    This could solve your issue.

  • Invoice document missing in MCSI report

    Hi Friends,
    This is regarding missing invoice documents in MCSI report in our production system.
    it was found that two invoice document numbers for a customer were missing where as these two documents are being displayed in BW report.
    I have checked in Info structure table through SQVI query and found that these invoice are not available. STAFO field in VBRK table is updated for these two invoice documents.
    Can anyone tell me what is the process to analyse the issue and how to update only those two missing invoice documents in MCSI report (Infostructure).

    - Doc. statistics group @ Invoice type / item category could be missing
    - At the time of execution of report, these settings might not be in place i.e. these doc type / item cat- may not relevant for statistics.
    The above points you have mentioned are not valid as there is no new configuration made and further this is a support project.
    I hope the third point which you have mentioned as below is a valid one.
    - Proper updation of info structure might not be done.
    As per this message, I understood that there was no proper updation of infostructure for those two invoice document numbers. Further, to update two invoice documents in infostructures, we need to run transaction code OLI9.
    Can you please comment on my below queries:
    - Can the transaction be run in live system during any time?
    - Is there any impact on other invoice data in infostructures?
    - If the transaction is executed, all the current infostructures get updated with correct invoice data?
    - What is the impact of executing Txn -  MCVV. Does this transaction only simulates and gives the log on updation of invoice document? or it also adjusts/ updates any data in system?

    Can any body so kind to tell me is there any standard report in SAP 4.7 C where we can get the list of invoice document number against each line item of PO.
    I have tried the ME2N & ME2L report. If I double click the POH then only it give me the invoice document report. But i want a report where I get invoice document no against each line item wise in PO.

    In VTFA, please do the following changes,and then test by creating the sales orders then do collective billing.
    Keep Assignment number blank
    Keep Reference number blank
    Copy item number- Uncheck the box where tick box was selected
    Also make sure that PO Number in sales order is same

  • Posting Date of Cancelled Invoice Document MR8M

    Hi, there is a invoice document posted in the system (using MIRO) on 3/31/09, when i reverse this document on 4/14/09 using MR8M, the canceled document has a posting date of 3/31/09 (same as the original document) instead of 4/14/09. Can someone tell me how to get the posting date to 4/14/09. Both 3/31/09 and 4/14/09 are in the same fiscal year and period.

  • Problem with invoice Document and Table DFKKOP

    Hi Guyz,
    While reversing the Invoice doc, i receives an error
    "Balance in Document currency is not Zero, Posting not possible", in long text it shows contact your system administrator.
    and one more thing, while discussing this issue i found out that there is problem in DFKKOP table, this invoice docs are not visible in this table???? any reason for that i need this to be solved ASAP.

    Here is detail for the issue above, I know that i need to see that in ERDK, so i have posted this issue in detail hope you get the clear picture now.
    There are around 231 Invoice documents for which there is no record in DFKKOP table.
    Since these records are not available in such a important table like DFKKOP, it is not coming into account display (TCODE: FPL9) also. So we are not able to perform any financial transaction for these contract accounts based on these invoice documents.
    Now we need to find out all the details and document numbers which is required to be present in table DFKKOP related to these invoice documents, so that it can be inserted into the  table  Manually.
    I think this is the solution for now. to update the table manually.
