DBA: ANALYZETAB and DBA:CHECKOPT jobs failed.
Hi Guys,
Good day!
I would like to seek an assistance on how can I deal with the issue below:
For JOB: DBA: ANALYZETAB
27.05.2010 04:00:20 Job started
27.05.2010 04:00:28 Step 001 started (program RSDBAJOB, variant &0000000000113, use

27.05.2010 04:00:28 Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
For JOB: DBA:CHECKOPT
Date Time Message text

26.05.2010 18:15:09 Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
I also checked those DBAs and I could find any in DB13 as well as in table SDBAP.
Appreciate your help on this matter.
Cheers,

Hello,
I may have the same scenario because I have two same jobs that are getting canceled in DB13. I checked them and it is because that the jobs were created in a client which is no longer existing. "Logon of user XXXX in client XXX failed when starting a step"
DBA:ANALYZETAB
DBA:CHECKOPT
Can you please tell the importance of these jobs as these are not included in SAP Note 16083 - "Standard jobs, reorganization jobs" as one of the standard jobs. If required, I need to reschedule these jobs in DB13 which I do not know how. DB13 does not have options that will create these type of jobs. So far, this is what I can only see from my DB13.
Whole database offline + r
Whole database offline bac
Whole database online + re
Whole database online back
Redo log backup
Partial database offline b
Partial database online ba
Check and update optimizer - this is for DBA:UDATESTATS
Adapt next extents - this is for DBA:NEXTEXTENT
Check database - this is for DBA:CHECKDB
Verify database - this is for DBA:VERIFYDB
Cleanup logs - this is for DBA:CLEANUPLOGS
So where does these two jobs should be generated from? I would appreciate any help regarding this.
Thanks,
Tony

Experts,
We have background job running as part of the daily load. The user who created and scheduled the job, his account diabled recently and that makes job failing. I need to keep that job running but can not figure out how to change the user name in the job. For example, 0EMPLOYEE_CHANGE_RUN job based on event 'zemployee' triggers at the end of employee data load. Can you please provide any hint what should I do to change user name or take the ownership to keep this job running. Thanks.
Regards,
NimeshHello,
Go to SM37--> put job name "0EMPLOYEE_CHANGE_RUN" and user as "*" to get all users.
Now select the job with released status>(Menu)Job>change->Steps-> select 1st row > change(pencil icon)>now you see the user name here.
Change the user name to the user name used for all background job and save.
Done.

User, Role, Profile Synchronization Job Fails
Hi Gurus,
When I am scheduling a job the User, Role, and Profile Sync. job fails giving an error
"Cannot assign a java.lang.String object of length 53 to host variable 5 which has JDBC type VARCHAR(40)."
This happens when the synchronization happens with a portal system. We dont have a ruleset for the portal system, So if I put in a "*", it includes this system and results in the error, If I manually select all other system, it works fine. Is there any way to remove this error so that I can schedule the jobs without having to select every system manually.
Regards,
ChinmayaHi,
As per my knowledge, in the Portal system, you should perform only user sync. Roles/profile sync will not work since portal will have workset roles.
Please refer SAP Note 1168120, which may help you to understand the limitations
Hope this helps!!
Rgds,
Raghu

DPM 2012 R2 Backup job FAILED for some Hyper-v VMs
DPM encountered a retryable VSS error. (ID 30112 Details: VssError:The writer experienced a transient error. If the backup process is retried,
the error may not reoccur.

All the vss Writers are in stable state
Also Some Hyper-v VMs are not appearing in the DPM 2012 R2 Console When I try to create the Protection Group please note that they are not part of cluster.
Host is 2012 R2 and The VM is also 2012 R2.Hi,
What update rollup are you running on the DPM 2012 R2 server ? DPM 2012 R2 UR5 introduced a new refresh feature that will re-enumerate data sources on an individual protected server.
Check for VSS errors inside the guests that are having problems being backed up.

Step job failed and agent shows sucess
hi everyone,
I'm running a package using an agent job step Transact SQL script (T-SQL)
the step runs a package using command line dtexec only in case there are any rows in a certain table
the problem is that the package fails and yet the job step indicates sucess
i'm passing the dtexec exit code as exlpained in:
http://www.bidn.com/blogs/BradSchacht/ssis/941/capture-ssis-package-execution-status
iv'e tried using RAISERROR but it hasn't helped
can anyone help?
iv'e configured "Job step On failure action" to "Quit the job reporting failure"OK i solved it
the job step is a Transact SQL script (T-SQL) step
that means that as long as the
query result success the
step will indicate success
i added an if statement
if @ExitCode<>0 then
BEGIN
select * from TableDoesNotExist
END
the table of course doesnt exists so the query fails and therfore the step indicates failure -
Db13 both the jobs failed update stats and DB check

20.07.2009 23:12:50 Job finishedHi Jiggi
Are you running 2 jobs at the same time from DB13? What do you mean by >Db13 both the jobs failed
>ORA-00001: unique constraint
can happen due to lot of reasons in SAP. Basically it means you are insertion of already existing records.
This also may happen due to bug in brtools patch level. What is your brtools patch level?

We recently upgraded our Solution Manager to 7 ehp1. A couple of the background jobs are not able to complete.
Both jobs have the following entry in the job logs
Step 001 started (program RAGS_DSWP_SERV_CONTENT_UPDATE, variant , user ID SOLMAN_ADMIN
No authorization
I'm not sure where to look for the authorization issue. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

but the job-start is not corresponding to the entries in table SMCONFIGJOBS
both jobs are startet at 00:01:44 (both !!!)

LMS 3.2 Syslog purge job failed.
We installed LMS 3.2 on windows server 2003 enterprise edition. RME version is 4.3.1. We have created daily syslog purge job from RME> Admin> Syslog> Set Purge Policy. This job failes with the following error.
"Drop table failed:SQL Anywhere Error -210: User 'DBA' has the row in 'SYSLOG_20100516' locked 8405 42W18
[ Sat Jun 19 01:00:07 GMT+05:30 2010 ],ERROR,[main],Failed to purge syslogs"
After server restart job will again execute normally for few days.
Please check attached log file of specified job.
RegardsThe only reports of this problem in the past has been with two jobs being created during an upgrade. This would not have been something you would have done yourself. I suggest you open a TAC service request so database locking analysis can be done to find what process is keeping that table locked.

Why is the SQL job failing on weekends while it successfully runs in weekdays?
I wrote a job to create a backup. But this seems to work fine in weekdays. After weekends I can't find any backups. History viewer shows only 1 day of history and therefore I can't see what happened to the job in weekends. How can I increase the amount
of history information from Job activity monitor? And is there a way to trace what happened in weekends? Please advice.
mayooran99Have you checked the job current schedule ? is this scheduled for daily ? have you checked the backup location ? how many day backups are exist? is there any recent backups ?

EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_set_sqlagent_properties @jobhistory_max_rows=-1,@jobhistory_max_rows_per_job=-1
--delete jobhistory older than 7 days and schedule following as a job or use gui
DECLARE @oldest_date DATETIME
SET @oldest_date = DATEADD(DAY,-7,GETDATE())
PRINT @oldest_date
EXEC msdb..sp_purge_jobhistory NULL,NULL,@oldest_date
OR
Rightclick on SQL Server Agent, properties-> History, You can increase the history log size(in rows) and max Job history rows per job .

And after that it all fails and Timer Jobs ain't working on App server, on WFE servers eveyrthing is allright and working as it needs to be.
I searched a lot of forums and different, but none of offered solutions ain't working, and that is not good.
PS. On development server eveything worked fine, looked through log files and this job run without any errors - Dev server is one in all installation, though.
If there is somebody who can help me with this, I would appreciate your help.
TY!TY for your response,
I used the script to update timer job config, but that isnt helping, and, also, this isnt a timer job that is already in timer job definitions. Its the one, that's created and after execution gets deleted, because its grayed out in timer job history page
and I cant access it. if you look closer at log files I have pasted, you will see that the timer job that is created gets deleted almost immediatily and isnt executed and after that all timer jobs on my App server aint working and this happens every time after
I restart Timer Service on App server, event ID is 6398, but timer job config cache isnt the problem.
And, as much as I cant tell from logs - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. - I recieve this error because there is no timer job with ID, that is shown in error, because of this:
Deleting the SPPersistedObject, SPUpgradeJobDefinition Name=job-upgrade.
Maybe this information cansomehow help:
The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUpgradeJobDefinition (ID 910fbcdc-2691-490e-a9e9-563ae767612e) threw an exception. More information is included below. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
After previous error:
Exception stack trace: at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUpgradeJobDefinition.Execute(Guid targetInstanceId) at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAdministrationServiceJobDefinition.ExecuteAdminJob(Guid targetInstanceId)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPTimerJobInvokeInternal.Invoke(SPJobDefinition jd, Guid targetInstanceId, Boolean isTimerService, Int32& result)
And after that Upgrade timer job gets deleted and thats it, App server aint working like it nedds to and no Timer job are executed.
I hope this can help to narrow this problem down to a specific component or help resolve this error.

Regards,
georgeHi friends
I managed to find the answer. Internally it is has some indexes in the data base level. It still maintains the indexes in the shadow tables. Those all need to be deleted. With our Basis team help I have successfully deleted those and recreated the indexes.
As Soorejkv said sap note 1283322 will help you on this to understand the scenarios.
Thank you all.

HI All,
We have recently done the Upgrade from BW 3.1 to BI 7.0
There is a issue regarding the POST Upgrade
One Job is failing every day
The name of the JOB is BI_WRITE_PROT_TO_APPLLOG
And the Job log is
06/18/2008 00:04:55 Job started 00 516 S
06/18/2008 00:04:55 Logon of user PALAPSJ in client 200 failed when starting a step 00 560 A
06/18/2008 00:04:55 Job cancelled
00 518 A
This Job is actually running the program
RSBATCH_WRITE_PROT_TO_APPLLOG
when i try to run this program with my user id its working
but with the other user id which it is schedule its failing giving the messages as mentioned in the job log
Kindly suggest me
REgards
janardhan KMaybe it's a dialog and no system or background user. so the job fails.

Error in Control Framework: Background job failed
Hi Experts,
One background job failed with job log: Error in Control Framework in ECC 6.0 system; the job is supposed to produce a XML report. Can anyone please give some idea on this why it could happen? One SAP note 893534 has described same kind of issue but in CRM system. That note even cant be implemeneted in ECC 6.0. Any workaround? Is it a BASIS issue here?
Thanks & Regards,
SKBHello,
please check the variant. We had this problem, and when checking the variant I got a shortdump because the variant did not fit to the program (there were problems with subscreens in the selection screen). After adjusting the variant with program RSVARDOC_610 the variant was ok.
I can not check if this solved the problem because the job runs weekly, and the next job is on Monday. But give it a try...

Jens Hoetger
