Hi Post Upgrade Job Failing

HI All,
We have recently done the Upgrade from BW 3.1 to BI 7.0
There is a issue regarding the POST Upgrade
One Job is failing every day
The name of the JOB is BI_WRITE_PROT_TO_APPLLOG
And the Job log is
06/18/2008 00:04:55 Job started                                                          00           516          S
06/18/2008 00:04:55 Logon of user PALAPSJ in client 200 failed when starting a step      00           560          A
06/18/2008 00:04:55 Job cancelled
                                                       00           518          A
This Job is actually running the program
RSBATCH_WRITE_PROT_TO_APPLLOG
when i try to run this program with my user id its working
but with the other user id which it is schedule its failing giving the messages as mentioned in the job log
Kindly suggest me
REgards

Maybe it's a dialog and no system or background user. so the job fails.

  • Required Post Upgrade Jobs: Missing jobs and failures

    Folks,
    In reviewing "Required Post Upgrade Jobs", I found that "Compile Non-Compiled Flexfields" failed. The job was submitted by APPSMGR and immediately started since the Request Process queues were not initially deactivated as reccomended in doc 399362.1. I'm afraid I don't know the password for APPSMGR. Is there a way for me to restart this job so that any successors release?
    Only a handful of the required jobs show to have been submitted and run. Would required jobs that have not run and do not appear in the queue need to be manually submitted?
    Thanks for any help.

    All of my post upgrade processes completed without error except the flexfield compile of AR_ADJUSTMENTS_ALL_DFV. It will not compile from within the forms either:

    Hello everybody,
    I would like some help with a litle problem that occured after I installed November CU on all of Sharepoint 2013 servers, 1 app, and 2 WFE. I'm unable to get Timer Job Service working on my app server, and that is a big problem. Everytime I restart Timer

    And after that it all fails and Timer Jobs ain't working on App server, on WFE servers eveyrthing is allright and working as it needs to be.
    I searched a lot of forums and different, but none of offered solutions ain't working, and that is not good.
    PS. On development server eveything worked fine, looked through log files and this job run without any errors - Dev server is one in all installation, though.
    If there is somebody who can help me with this, I would appreciate your help.
    TY!

    TY for your response,
    I used the script to update timer job config, but that isnt helping, and, also, this isnt a timer job that is already in timer job definitions. Its the one, that's created and after execution gets deleted, because its grayed out in timer job history page
    and I cant access it. if you look closer at log files I have pasted, you will see that the timer job that is created gets deleted almost immediatily and isnt executed and after that all timer jobs on my App server aint working and this happens every time after
    I restart Timer Service on App server, event ID is 6398, but timer job config cache isnt the problem.
    And, as much as I cant tell from logs - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. - I recieve this error because there is no timer job with ID, that is shown in error, because of this:
    Deleting the SPPersistedObject, SPUpgradeJobDefinition Name=job-upgrade.
    Maybe this information cansomehow help:
    The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUpgradeJobDefinition (ID 910fbcdc-2691-490e-a9e9-563ae767612e) threw an exception. More information is included below.  Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    After previous error:
    Exception stack trace:    at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUpgradeJobDefinition.Execute(Guid targetInstanceId)     at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAdministrationServiceJobDefinition.ExecuteAdminJob(Guid targetInstanceId)
        at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPTimerJobInvokeInternal.Invoke(SPJobDefinition jd, Guid targetInstanceId, Boolean isTimerService, Int32& result)
    And after that Upgrade timer job gets deleted and thats it, App server aint working like it nedds to and no Timer job are executed.
    I hope this can help to narrow this problem down to a specific component or help resolve this error.

  • Change Log issues - Post Upgrade

    Hi Experts,
    We are in the process of Upgrading BW from 3.X to BI 7. As part of this we copied our existing Production system into the sand box and basis did the technical upgrade on the same (Sand Box). Later we ran some post upgrade Jobs as part of the SAP defined Upgrade Process.
    1) But after the upgrade i can notice that most of the ODS objects, doesn't have 'Change Log' table in the 'Information (Log/Status)' screen.
    2) Even when i try to view the change log content in Manage screen, it gives me a pop up to enter the change log table, instead of directly taking me to the selection screen.
    3) When i try to activate a request, even that fails with an SQL error 'SAPSQL_EMPTY_TABNAME'.
    Is there any process that has to be run to link the Older version change log tables to the corresponding ODSs after Upgrade?
    Has anyone come accross similar issues? If yes, how was it solved? All suggestions are invited.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jay

    HI JayaPrasad,
    Chek the note : 1059171 which is related to Change log,
    I too faced this issue when upgraded to Bi7.0 on SP12, but as soon as SP13 is installed the issue is solved, so I suggest to go for SP 13 for upgrading to Bi7.0.

  • 12.1.1 POST-upgrade ---verify concurrent process

    I have upgraded 11.5.10.to 12.1.1 successfully when I was running post upgrade
    Oracle® Applications
    Upgrade Guide
    Release 11i to 12.1.1
    Part No. E14010-01
    chapter 4
    Step 1: Verify completion of concurrent programs (recommended)
    The upgrade process creates numerous concurrent program requests. Once you bring
    up the application tier, these programs run automatically to complete tasks such as data
    cleanup and upgrades to historical data, among others. You can run these programs in
    the background, while your system is up and running and users are active, unless
    otherwise instructed in the product-specific sections of this book.
    Before you continue, be sure all the concurrent programs generated by the upgrade
    have run successfully. In the Required Post Upgrade Jobs section of E-Business Suite
    Release 12 Upgrade Sizing and Best Practices (Doc ID: 399362.1), you will find a list of the
    distinct concurrent programs included in the upgrade process. The Best Practices
    section includes a recommendation on how to isolate these programs (and all their
    executions) into a separate concurrent manager queue, which you can use for
    processing.
    post upgrade concurrent request were around 989 but
    by mistake I stopped the concurrent manager and I ran cmclean.sql --:(
    then after some time I shut abort the database

  • Recreate post-upgrade deferred data migration job?

    Hello everyone,
    after setting up our new OMS 12c (2-system-approach, i.e. both the old one and new one are running at the moment), I switched a number of test machines to the new OMS12 and ran the accrued and deferred data migration jobs.
    The deferred data migration job "metrics" failed, and - unfortunately not checking the documentation first - I killed the failed job because I hoped this would enable me to restart it.
    Oracle Documentation:
    "To rerun a failed job, click the status icon to reach the Job Run page. On the Job Run page, click Edit. On the Edit <JobName> Job page, click Submit to rerun the job."
    Now I can neither rerun the job nor does the system seem to be capable of recreating it - is there a possiblity to get that job back in there? Or maybe run it at least manually? The collected historical metric data was the one reason we decided to do the 2-system-approach in the first place, and having to go through the whole process of setting up OMS 12 another time seems excessive.
    Every help much appreciated!
    Edited by: user13085691 on Feb 13, 2012 2:50 AM

    Run following as SYSMAN to update the status manually as success in case you have run the job manually and verified as successful.
    Begin
    gc_post_ugc.setPostUgcRepoJob(p_comp_name=>POST_UGC.G_METRIC_COMP,
    p_job_name=>,POST_UGC.METRIC_REPOS_JOB
    p_status=>POST_UGC.G_PASSED_STATUS
    End;
    Please use following process next time, in case you killed the jobs by mistake; following would update the status correctly in Post Upgrade Console.
    ECM Config DDMP job
    If the job is in failed state in Post upgrade Console page, Run the following sql to check if the db session is still running behind.
    SELECT Count(1) FROM v$session WHERE MODULE = 'OracleEnterpriseManager.ConfigDataMigration';
    If the value returned is greater than zero, then db session for the job is still running, Else the session is not running.
    If db session for this job is not running, Follow the steps below to restart the job
    1.delete the job from EM job system
    mgmt_jobs.delete_job('POST_UGC.CONFIG_REPOS_JOB','SYSMAN');
    2. update the status to null
    update EM_POST_UGC_REPO_JOBS set status=NULL WHERE comp_name = 'CONFIG';
    3. start the job from DDMP tab in post upgrade console page.
    Metric DDM Job
    If the job is in failed state in Post upgrade Console page, Run the following sql to check if the db session is still running behind.
    SELECT Count(1) FROM v$session WHERE MODULE = 'OracleEnterpriseManager.MetricDataMigration';
    If the value returned is greater than zero, then job session is running, Else the session is not running.
    If db session for this job is not running, Follow the steps below to restart the job
    1.delete the job from EM job system
    mgmt_jobs.delete_job('POST_UGC.METRIC_REPOS_JOB','SYSMAN');
    2. update the status to null
    update EM_POST_UGC_REPO_JOBS set status=NULL WHERE comp_name = 'METRIC';
    3. start the job from post upgrade console page.

    I have upgraded to IOS6 and my iphone became silent phone. The only sound still working is the ringtone when someone calls me. At times, the ringtone may not be working as well. If the headphones are plugged in, sounds are audible even can hear music. Once unplugged, silent. Is this what Apple can do best post Mr Job? I am using 4s bought last Dec 2012 and have noticed that 3GS uploads faster than my 4s.

    i also check that. that is abslutely ok but still can't solve my problem

  • FEP_GetNewData_FEPDB_ Job fails

    Every Day FEP_GetNewData_FEPDB_  job fails from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. The rest of the day is OK. I think this job runs every 15 minutes.
    We upgraded FEP 2010 to Rollup 1, but the problem is not solved. we have SCCM 2007 R2 SP2.
    I've seen a lot forums, but I can't see which is the solution exactly

    Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up.
    I hate to say it but this is likely a problem within your environment. Particularly if you haven’t seen anyone else report it. As such, I recommend that you contract CSS directly, they will work with you to solve this problem.

  • Post-upgrade tasks for OWB 10g Release 2

    Hi,
    we're planning to upgrade from OWB 10.1.0.2 to 10.2.x.
    Now, I'm trying to get a clear view on what will be the "post-upgrade" tasks, in terms of manual adaptations, corrections, etc. to get everything back up and running after the upgrade ...
    E.g. : by means of test al already exported a dimension, and imported it in the 10.2 repository ... Turned out that in the pre-10.2 version, there were no validation problems, but as from 10.2 (although the upgrade and import were successful), I got 19 warnings and 2 errors ... because each level needs to have a business or surrogate key ...
    It' s things like that I'm especially interested in, in order to determine the workload after the upgrade ...
    So, feel free to share your experiences ; I'm looking forward to read them!
    Thanks!
    Grtz.

    Here are some from my list. I stopped maintaining it a while ago, we have lots more where this came from. Some of it also apply to older versions of OWB.
    Key lookup     You are to choose input and output attributes BEFORE being able to choose loookup table, all in a time consuming wizard
    Expressions     Copy and paste into expression editor, validation fails for expressions using lowercase (such as "upper" or "substr")
    Renaming attributes     Not possible anymore, you need to open details
    Adding a table component     You must browse in a tree structure (time consuming), not search functionality anymore
    Import     Import converting from 9.2 hangs after 15% in about 10% of all imports
    Import     Some mappings are not possible to import, a total rewrite is necessary
    Deployment     You can only deploy about 5-10 times before you need to restart OWB
    Memory leak     If something goes wrong in OWB, memory is never cleared - JAWAW.exe needs to be removed manually from memory
    Import     Importing mappings one by one (as this is sometimes needed due to OWB), the last directory used is OF COURSE not default when importing the next time
    OWB GUI / mapping editor     When working with components in the mapping editor, an object hidden behind the object you are actually working with is selected prior to the object in visual focus to the user
    BUG!     Urgent: CASE - wrong generated Code
    ANSI JOINS     Remove ANSI-SQL from mapping configuration, otherwise (+) outer joins will not work
    Transformations     Not possible to enter a transformation such as "sysdate", you must find it in a huge tree structure list (no search available)

  • Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant failed on Satellite P775

    I tried running the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant on my Satellite P775.
    It started by displaying
    Checking Components; download Windows 8 Components data.
    Reading Components.
    Got component TOSHIBA Wireless LAN Indicator
    ... etc ...
    Got Component TOSHIBA Contrasena de supervisor
    Reading Windows Components.
    then displayed a Message Box
    "Failed to read Target (Windows 8) INI file."
    How can I solve this?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
    Yes I followed that procedure.
    My model is Satellite P775-112 PSBY3E and is listed as being compatible
    After installing Windows 8, I noticed that the DVD drive was no longer accessible, as described in the following thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=68222&tstart=0
    So I disabled the Windows Service "Toshiba Optical Disc Drive Service" (TODDSrv.exe 1.0.0.8), and the DVD drive is now visible. However Toshiba Video Player still does not work (says it has compatibility issues) and I can not view DVD videos.
    I then ran the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, which failed immediately with the error "Failed to read Target (Windows 8) INI file".
    I found some posts on the forum with a similar error with the Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant (Failed to read Target (Windows 7) INI file. None of the posts has a clear description of what this error means but I've tried all of the suggestions.
    Here's a list of what I've tried:
    - Rebooted
    - Upgraded BIOS to latest version (2.10)
    - Run Upgrade Assistant as Administrator
    - Run Upgrade Assistant with "Toshiba Optical DIsc Drive Service TODDSrv.exe 1.0.0.8 started or stopped.
    My main problems at the moment are:
    - Toshiba Optical DIsc Drive Service causes DVD drive to disappear
    - Toshiba Video Player won't run
    - No way to view DVDs
    I'd be happy to install the drivers and applications individually if the Upgrade Assistant doesn't work - is there anywhere I can download them?

  • SQL Server Agent Job Failing on Job Step

    Hi,
    Firstly, apologies if this post has been made in the wrong group.  Running SQL Server 2012.  I'm attempting to add a SQL Server Agent Job which calls a stored procedure that sends a Database Mail message.  The SQL Server and SQL Server Agent
    both run under the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account.  The Database Mail service has been enabled, and a public profile created.  When running the stored procedure manually, I receive no errors - everything runs as expected and I do receive an
    email containing the expected information.
    I've created the job, job step, job schedule, attached the schedule to the job, and assigned the job to server, all using T-SQL without error.  I've also enabled the mail profile on the SQL Server Agent, and I know that part is working because when
    the job fails, I get an email notification of the failure.
    I've checked the command text in the job step and parsed it within the SQL Job Step Edit window to confirm, it shows as parsing correctly.  However, when I manually run the job itself, I get the following:
    Execution of job failed.  See the history log for details.
    I check the history log and it shows:
    [474] Unable to refresh Database Mail profile Database Mail Profile. (reason: ) (Not a typo, the history log shows no reason)
    [260] Unable to start mail session.
    [396] An idle CPU condition has not been defined - OnIdle job schedules will have no effect
    The command text on the failing job step is as follows:
    DECLARE @date [varchar](10)
    SET @date = CAST(GETDATE() AS [varchar](10))
    EXEC [dbo].[GetExceptions]
    @company = 'MyCompany',
    @checkDate = @date
    With regard to the date value being passed as varchar: This stored procedure is used to check for exceptions against multiple databases on this server (hence the company parameter) via dynamic SQL.  I'd much prefer to use proper data typing but this
    is the only way I could get it to work.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on anything else I could check, or insights into why this is failing?  Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Best Regards
    Brad

    I am not sure if this really helps but I would do follow the below steps:
    1. make sure sql server agent has database mail enabled(rigt click on server agent--properties--alert system--enable database mail and choose right profile.) and RESTART THE SQL SERVER AGENT.(i know you said it i working, but sometimes,  restart the
    sql server agent might fix)
    2. check agent error log and check if any error messages.
    3. run the command text you mentioned in sql server and see if it is working.(i know you said it is working but just to make sure).
    4. make sure sql server agent service user has permissions to run database mail in msdb. check this https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186358.aspx
    5. Check the output from select * from msdb.dbo.sysmail_log and if it says anything
    6.it does not look like the job log is getting truncated but to make sure, get the job step output to a text file.to do this, edit the job step and on the job step properties click on advanced,  enter path to the output file. this will give the complete
    output for the step.
    Hope it Helps!!

    Recommendations
    Oracle recommends gathering dictionary statistics prior to
    upgrading the database.
    To gather dictionary statistics execute the following command
    while connected as SYSDBA:
        EXECUTE dbms_stats.gather_dictionary_stats;
    Oracle recommends reviewing any defined events prior to upgrading.
    To view existing non-default events execute the following commands
    while connected AS SYSDBA:
      Events:
        SELECT (translate(value,chr(13)||chr(10),' ')) FROM sys.v$parameter2
          WHERE  UPPER(name) ='EVENT' AND  isdefault='FALSE'
      Trace Events:
        SELECT (translate(value,chr(13)||chr(10),' ')) from sys.v$parameter2
          WHERE UPPER(name) = '_TRACE_EVENTS' AND isdefault='FALSE'
    Changes will need to be made in the init.ora or spfile.

  • Post-Upgrade Software Usability

    Hi All,
    I am currently using OS X 10.3.9 with upcoming plans to upgrade to Tiger 10.4, and am totally new to the upgrade process and how it works; in fact, I've never done one before. I'm upgrading basically because I have some new applications that can't run on anything less than Tiger. This has me concerned that once I perform the upgrade, other existing older applications on my machine may subsequently not run due to their age and associated incompatibility with the new operating system. For example, I have some MS Office software on there (Word, etc.) that date from -- I believe -- 2002, as well as some other relatively old apps. I know this is very general question, but will performing this upgrade bring any risk of making any of my older applications unusable? Thanks for any insights you can provide!
    -Travis

    will performing this upgrade bring any risk of making any of my older applications unusable?
    That is always a risk. It would pay you to look on the software publishers' websites to check compatibility with your versions and Tiger, and/or to check whether they have new versions available you could download for Tiger after you have updated.
    And when you do update:
    There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
    It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
    So before you do anything else:
    If you can, make a full backup first.
    Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
    Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
    2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
    At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
    3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!
    If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
    Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
    Now proceed as follows:
    4. Close all applications.
    5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
    7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
    8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
    If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
    9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them 10.4.10. compliant. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
    N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
    Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695
    If you are updating Safari (or just have):
    Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed 10.4.11 and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
    So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 uses Safari 3.0.4 which is not a beta. If Safari 3.0.4 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
    Moreover, trying to revert to Safari 2 when running 10.4.11 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.0.4 uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail and Dashboard Widgets etc also rely.
    Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Two such add-on that have been frequently mentioned here for causing such problems are Piclens and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them.

    Hi,
    What update rollup are you running on the DPM 2012 R2 server ?  DPM 2012 R2 UR5 introduced a new refresh feature that will re-enumerate data sources on an individual protected server.
    Check for VSS errors inside the guests that are having problems being backed up.
