F-92 asset retirement-where document splitting is active

I have a situation where I have activated document splitting for the characteristics profit centre and segment. When i post an asset retirement however that the customer and the VAT postings do not get populated with profit center and segment. The asset disposal accounts, the assets, the gain or loss on disposal do have the profit center and segment populated.
I have made FSG  profit centre required for customer, not required for VAT general ledger accounts
I have made the posting key 01 and 50 FSG- profit centre required and cost centre optional
Where else can i check. as i thought the customer would inherit the profit center from the cost centre in the asset being sold.

Hi,
This is surely related to Document splitting configuration
For Document type DR, what is the business trans. and trans. variant assigned ?
I think it should be 0000 (unspecified posting) and then create a new variant and assign the below categories:
Menu: Financial Accounting (New)-> General Ledger Accounting (New) - > Business Transactions -> Document Splitting -> Define Business Transaction Variants
01000     Balance Sheet Account
01100     Company Code Clearing
01300     Cash Discount Clearing
02000     Customer
02100     Customer: Special G/L Transaction
03000     Vendor
03100     Vendor: Special G/L Transaction
04000     Cash Account
05100     Taxes on Sales/Purchases
05200     Withholding Tax
06000     Material
07000     Fixed Assets
20000     Expense
30000     Revenue
40100     Cash Discount (Expense/Revenue/Loss)
40200     Exchange Rate Difference
80000     Customer-Specific Item Category
Assign the new variant to DR document under Financial Accounting (New)-> General Ledger Accounting (New) - > Business Transactions -> Document Splitting -> Classify Document Types for Document Splitting
Hope this helps

  • Document Splitting error - only for 1 company code (out of 2 company code)

    Hii
We have two company codes: 1100 and 1200. Chart of accounts, chart of depreciation, controlling area are same for both the company codes. Only profit centers are different since both company codes are in two different location.
Document splitting is active in both the company code. (I have checked that node also). Also setting in ACSET (i.e. account assignment) is done for the depreciation area
When i am posting asset acquisition (F-90) and MIGO (for assets PO), its giving me error for document splitting. This error is given only for company code 1100 and not for 1200. All other transactions (including FB60) are working properly in both the company codes.
What can be error ?  Is there any error in asset master creation or vendor master.
    Please help.
I CHECKED IN EXPERT MODE IN SIMULATION. THEIR PROFIT CENTER IS NOT VISIBLE IN ASSET LINE ITEM. PLEASE HELP

  • Assign a G/L Account to a Segment for Document Splitting

    HI Experts,
Do you know if it is possible to assign a G/L Account to a specific segment?. I know and have setup the splitting method and rules, we have created item categories and base categories and splitting method. Document split is active and working fine. We have defined all different segments (MXC000, MXC0001, etc) in the Enterprise Structure section of IMG. On the other hand, I have an account for automatic postings 7300001 for the exchange rate differences when documents are posted in foreign currency.
Question is, is it possible to assign account 7300001 to a specific segment MXC0000 for example?. Since the postings to the 7300001 are automatic postings, is there a place in the system where I can assign my segment MXC0000 to account 7300001, thus automatic postings hit segment MXC0000 as well?
Reward points for helpful answers, Thank you.

Use Tcode FAGL3KEH and assign a default profit center such as XXXX .
In Profit center master data you assign "MXC0000" as segment.
System derives in this  case the segment via Priofitcenter assigned in FAGL3KEH.
This is one way of doing.
Revisit the classification of GL accounts for document splitting and check whether the assignment to the GL account is  "40200 - Exchange rate diff account "or not

  • Document Splitting Rule

    hi all
    What is Document Splitting Rule?
    regards
    ch.suresh

Document splitting allows to display documents using a differentiated representation. In the representation, line items are split according to selected dimensions. In this way, one can draw up complete financial statements for the selected dimensions at any time.
Using the document splitting procedure, one can also create a segmented display of a (partial) balance sheet according to a set of legal requirements (for example, IAS) or according to areas of responsibility.
In addition, one can allocate at the time of posting additional costs (such as realized or valuated exchange rate differences) to the CO account assignment objects to which the costs relate. Assets can also be subsequently capitalized at the time of posting.
Document splitting has an effect on subsequent processes, such as closing operations, and on processes in Controlling (CO). One can use the document splitting procedure to split up line items for selected dimensions (such as receivable lines by profit center) or to effect a zero balance setting in the document for selected dimensions (such as segment). This generates additional clearing lines in the document.
For document splitting to be possible, the system classifies the individual line items as well as the documents. This takes place using settings in Customizing. Depending on how a document is classified, the splitting rule selected for a document specifies how the document is split and for which line items.
In the Implementation Guide, choose Financial Accounting (New) ® General Ledger Accounting (New) ® Business Transactions ® Document Splitting.
For more information on all the Customizing settings, see also the IMG documentation of the relevant IMG activity.
    1. Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting
One needs to classify the individual document items so that the system knows how to handle them. One can do this by assigning them to an item category. The item category is determined by the account number. In this IMG activity, one needs to assign the appropriate accounts.
    2. Classify Document Types for Document Splitting
Every business transaction that is entered is analyzed during the document splitting process. In this process, the system determines which splitting rule is applied to the document. To enable the system to determine the splitting rule, one needs to assign a business transaction variant to each document type.
    3. Define Zero-Balance Clearing Account
Here one defines a clearing account for account assignment objects for which you want to have a zero balance setting when the balance is not zero.
    4. Define Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting
Here specify to which document splitting characteristics document splitting applies, for example, profit center or segment. The characteristics that are specified should be maintained in at least one of the ledgers. one determines which characteristics are maintained in ledger by assigning scenarios or customer fields to ledgers.
    5. Define Document Splitting Characteristics for Controlling
Here specify which additional characteristics are required to be applied in document splitting. The additional characteristics are not relevant for General Ledger Accounting. Instead, they are relevant for components in Controlling that use documents transferred from General Ledger Accounting.
The selected characteristics are only transferred to the specified line items when the account to which the postings are to be made can also take the characteristics.
    6. Define Post-Capitalization of Cash Discount to Assets
Here define whether the cash discount that is applied in the payment of an asset-relevant invoice should be capitalized to the asset. When one selects this setting, the cash discount amount is not posted to the cash discount account in the payment document, but instead directly to the asset.
    7. Edit Constants for Nonassigned Processes
Here define default account assignments (for example, a default segment) for specific line items in processes for which it is not possible to derive the correct account assignments at the time when the document is posted. This is the case if the required information is not yet available when the posting occurs.
    8. Activate Document Splitting
In this IMG activity, activate document splitting. The splitting method used is that delivered by SAP as standard, which contains the splitting rules for the different business transactions. If this splitting method does not meet requirements, first define and then select own method in Customizing for document splitting
    9. Settings for Extended Document Splitting
Here define own rules for document splitting and make the necessary settings so that the system applies the rules defined and not the SAP standard rules.
    9. Define Splitting Method
Here define own method for document splitting. A splitting method contains the rules governing how the individual item categories are dealt with.
    10. Define Splitting Rule
Here define the splitting rules for document splitting.Assign one or more business transaction variants, the account key for the zero balance setting, and the leading item categories for cross-company code transactions to a splitting method.
    11. Assign Splitting Method
Here assign the splitting method to be used for document splitting after activation. If one wants to activate own splitting method, replace the standard method with own method.
    12. Define Business Transaction Variants
Here one can define business transaction variants for the business transactions in document splitting

  • Document Splitting error - in F-90

    Hi
I am posting asset transactions in F-90.
Its giving error for profit center (document slitting). I have entered cost center in the asset master. Also the setting ACSET and document splitting is activated.
However this error is given only for company code 2000 and not other company codes (which have same chart of account, same controlling area, etc).
I went to simulation and i checked in expert mode. I saw that there is no profit center population in "base line item" But cost center is there in asset master and profit center assigned to that cost center.
So i do not know what can be the error.

    Hi:
To avoid this error you should check the following settings
a...Check for Cost Center in Asset Master Data,
b..Check Cost Center Master in KS03...the one maintained in for asset you are facing error . if profit center  is updated or not in it. If it is not maintained then update it in KS02. Alternatively you can also maintain settings in OKB9.
In IMG path Financial Accounting->Asset Accounting-> Integration with the General Ledger->Additional Account Assignment Objects ...make sure profit center assignment is activated.
c...Check in OBC4 the for asset GL FSG profit center should not be suppressed
Check the OSS Note 1464301 . It also contains the solution to the issue you faced.

  • Change in document splitting for withholidng tax and partial payment

    Hi
Document splitting is active in our system but documents are not splitting in following secnario:-
    1. profit centre is not deriving in withholding tax line item while imcoming payment
    2. in case of partial payment or on account payment, system unable to derive profit centre
To achieve above, somebody suggest following solution:-
create a new variant with the following settings:
    Splitting Method 0000000012
    Business Transaction 1010
    Transaction Variant 0001
and add bank (analog to 1000/0001) and WT(analog to item category 05100)
    OR
    Splitting Method 0000000012
    Business Transaction 1000
    Transaction Variant 0001
and add customer (analog to 1010/0001), vendor (analog to 1010/0001) and WT (analog to item category 05100)
Unfortunatly I am unable to understand above solution.
Please revert step by step changes need to be carried out to achieve above configuration.
    Regards
    DD

    Hi
You have been advised to create a new splitting rule, logically, which is correct. You need to first create the business transaction variant, where in you will tell the system what kind of transactions can happen in that transaction variant. In your case, with holding tax is automatically created at the time of incoming payments. In such a case, create a new transaction variant in the following path:
IMG>Financial Accounting (New)> General Ledger Accounting (New)> Business Transactions>Document Splitting>Extended Document Splitting>Define Business Transactions Variants
In this patth, create a new transaction variant, Z100 and assign all the item categories that you want or has been suggested earlier.
Thereafter assign this transaction variant to your splitting rule
IMG>Financial Accounting (New)> General Ledger Accounting (New)> Business Transactions>Document Splitting>Extended Document Splitting>Define Document Splitting Rule
Than to your Document Type for incoming payment you can assign the new transaction variant Z100.
If you do not want to disturb standard settings, use BADI AC_DOCUMENT to derive profit center for with holding tax in case of incoming payments.

  • Document splitting   material...

Below mentioned are the settings for configuring  FI - Document Split.
To use document splitting, you need to make preparations and settings in Customizing.
    Process Flow
Preparations: Before you can activate and use document splitting, you need to have created certain datasets for the existing documents. To do this, you need to migrate open items for document splitting. Add any missing document splitting characteristics in the documents to be split. This is obligatory if you have set these characteristics as required entry fields in document splitting
Standard Customizing Settings: You make the general settings for document splitting here.
Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting
You need to classify the individual document items so that the system knows how to handle them. You do this by assigning them to an item category. The item category is determined by the account number. In this IMG activity, you need to assign the appropriate accounts.
    2. Classify Document Types for Document Splitting
Every business transaction that is entered is analyzed during the document splitting process. In this process, the system determines which splitting rule is applied to the document. To enable the system to determine the splitting rule, you need to assign a business transaction variant to each document type.
    3. Define Zero-Balance Clearing Account
Here you define a clearing account for account assignment objects for which you want to have a zero balance setting when the balance is not zero.
    4. Define Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting
Here you specify to which document splitting characteristics document splitting applies, for example, profit center or segment. The characteristics that you specify should be maintained in at least one of your ledgers. You determine which characteristics are maintained in your ledger by assigning scenarios or customer fields to your ledgers.
You also define how this characteristic is to be handled by specifying, for example, whether you want to apply a zero balance setting, whether the field is a required entry field, and the appropriate partner field.
    5. Define Document Splitting Characteristics for Controlling
Here you specify which additional characteristics you want to apply in document splitting.
Here you define whether the cash discount that is applied in the payment of an asset-relevant invoice should be capitalized to the asset. When you select this setting, the cash discount amount is not posted to the cash discount account in the payment document, but instead directly to the asset.
    7. Edit Constants for Nonassigned Processes
Here you define default account assignments (for example, a default segment) for specific line items in processes for which it is not possible to derive the correct account assignments at the time when the document is posted. This is the case if the required information is not yet available when the posting occurs.
    8. Activate Document Splitting
In this IMG activity, you activate document splitting. The splitting method used is that delivered by SAP as standard, which contains the splitting rules for the different business transactions. If this splitting method does not meet your requirements, you can first define and then select your own method in Customizing for document splitting (see the next step).
    Settings for Extended Document Splitting
Here you make settings so that you can define your own splitting method if SAP’s standard splitting methods are not sufficient.
    9. Define Splitting Method
Here you define your own method for document splitting. A splitting method contains the rules governing how the individual item categories are dealt with.
    10. Define Splitting Rule
Here you define the splitting rules for document splitting. You assign one or more business transaction variants, the account key for the zero balance setting, and the leading item categories for cross-company code transactions to a splitting method.
    11. Assign Splitting Method
Here you assign the splitting method to be used for document splitting after activation. If you want to activate your own splitting method, replace the standard method with your own method.
    12. Define Business Transaction Variants
Here you can define business transaction variants for the business transactions in document splitting.
Hope this helps you, if this is what you are looking for please assign points.

  • Document splitting: Items for clearing 0010/100062508/2010/001 not found

    HI Gurus,
I hava issue with FC valuation. I have done configurtin for FC Valuation of GL A/c i.e, Long Term loan paybles which is created as Open Item management.
It is working fine post the entries at the end of May and reversed  the same on 01.06.2010 in development system. i have moved saem request to Acceptance client and testing the same scenario.  But i am getting the following error.
"Document splitting: Items for clearing 0010/100062508/2010/001 not found
    Message no. GLT0002
    Diagnosis
Document splitting cannot perform clearing because it was not possible to find complete splitting information on the items to be cleared (company code 0010, document number 100062508, fiscal year 2010, item 001).
    System Response
Clearing cannot be performed and the document cannot be posted.
    Procedure
Exclude the affected item from clearing.
It may be that this item was not posted with active document splitting. In this case, this item or document would have to be migrated."
I have checked the docuemnt splitting config . In two systems it was same and doc.splitting was configurated very long back.
Could any one help on the above error
    Thanks in advance
    PAVAN

    Hi Pavan,
Please note the following, the error GLT0002 is normally caused by a change done in your customizing for splitting. Since you mentioned that this is happening for one company code, it seems to be that one change was made only for this company code in your SPRO settings.
For example if you have activated open item managment subsequently on account or another example would be that you posted document prior to activation of document splitting.
Please see section 5 of note 891144:
Items posted while open item management was still inactive in G/L account master data cannot be cleared after open item management has been activated subequently if New G/L document splitting is active.
Therefore, if document splitting is active, open item management should never be activated subsequently on accounts to which documents had already been posted with inactive open item management.
Review note 891144 in full. I believe that this will help you resolve the issue.
    Best Regards,
    Vanessa.

  • Deactivate document splitting for company code in IDES

    Hi,
am not able to deactivate document splitting. When I try to deactivate and then save an error pop up show the message 'Define the commitment item as a document splitting characteristics ' .
The path for Deactivating the Doc splitting is
    SPRO---Financial Accounting(New) --- GL Accounting(New) -Business transactions-- Document splitting -
Activate document splitting------ Double click on Deactivation per company code.
When i try in this path it will not allow me to save and it will not allow me to post any g/l entry also.
    Please Advise.

I think the error is coming due to the other company codes for which document splitting is active.  Because, when you save (after deactivating doc split for your company code), I guess the system is checking the properties for other company codes in the same screen for which doc split is not deactivated.
What document splitting characteristics do you have in your system?  And what are the settings there?  Check in SPRO -> Financial Accounting (New) -> GL Accounting (New) -> Business Transactions -> Document Splitting -> Define Document Splitting Characteristics for GL Accounting.  My guess is there is nothing in there.  Create (may be, PRCTR) as your document splitting characteristic, save, and then try deactivating doc split for your company code in the IMG node that you mentioned.  Not sure if this is the reason, but no harm in trying!

  • Document split of a paymnt doc. for an invoice wit more than 999 line items

    Hi all,
my question is . what steps should we take care of in the system, to make the the document Split automatically on a payment document when we post an Invoice with 1001 lines items in it. is it some thing in the config or do we need to update a table or???
any kind of Input would be really appreciable, as i know this would be the same problem with all other clients too. who ever has more than 999 lineitems on their invoices.
    thanks in advance
    Jay

The only option is to create a clearing account and post this first entry to this temporary account and in the second entry clear this temporary and complete the transaction posting. Example:
    Entry 1
    Account 1   Dr.  Line 1                        100
    Account 2  Dr   Line 2                          100
    Account 3  Dr.  Line 998                       100
    999 split Account  Cr.                                           300
    Entry 2
    999 split Account Dr.  300
    Account 4    Dr.  Line 1000        100
    Account 5    Dr.  Line 1001          100
    Account 6                        Cr.           500
It is generally advised to split the transaction after 900 lines if document split is active in your client. Hope this helps. The same logic could be used for all interfaces and ABAP programes.

  • Profit Center in New GL with Document Splitting

    Hi
As per my understanding, from ECC 5.0 onwards you are forced to use New GL, and we are also planning to use Document splitting as some of the period end closing of profit center accounting are avoided.
Further I want to add that since document splitting is active, the old profit center tables GLPCA & GLPCT are not updated. The profit center details are updated in FAGLEXT, FAGLEXP & FAGLEXA tables.
I need clarifications for the following: -
    1. How do I plan for the profit centers Profit Center & Balance sheets
    2. How do I do profit center Plan / Actual Assessments / Distributions
    Kindly clarify.
    Regards,
    Suraj

I am also facing the same issue. Can anyone please guide how to handle the AUC downpayments  made in the legacy system to SAP?
The solution I thought of is just create a special GL indicater for AUC downpayments and post the vendor payments in F-48. Please guide is this the complete solution? We are using the Internal Order for AUC with investment measure.

  • How i can know that document splitting is enable or not ?

    Hi experts,
how i can check that document splitting enabled or not ? Is it necessary that only new g/l activated system can enable such features ?
    regards,
    Sanju M S

    Hi,
Check this path : Financial Accounting (New) -- General Ledger Accounting New -- Business Transactions -- Document Splitting -- Activate Document Splitting
Hear you need to check whether Document Splitting is activated or not ... if it is activated select "Deactivate per compnay code" check if your company code is activated or not.
This is a special feature in New GL ... this feature can be activated only in New GL system (From ECC 5 onwords)

  • Document splitting error in Inter company Trip

    Hi,
While trying to post cross company code Trip posting we are getting an
    error
u201CGLT2001 Item category 02000 not allowed in accounting transaction
    0300/0001u201D.
    We have document splitting active.
The following are the steps to recreate the scenario
1)A Travel request is created using T code TRIP
    2)An Advance amount is entered
3)An alternate cost centre is specified. This cost centre is
different from that of the employee master and belongs to another
company code as the business process is such that employee travels for
    a separate company code
4)When this request is settled and during posting run in PRRW, we are
getting this error of document splitting.
5)The Intercompany posting configuration in FI is done based on the
vendor customer relation ship between the 2 company codes using posting
    keys 01 and 31.
6)Document splitting is active in the system.
We are at verge of completing SIT 1 an early reply is much appreciated
    Regards
    Vikash Surana

    Hi
Not sure whether my response will help you or not.
I had faced a similar situation although we did not had Document Splitting and all. Actually the problem is all the cost centres are linked to the profit centres. Again these profit centres are linked to company codes. Now the contradiction comes when an employee divides his cost between two cost centres that are relevant for two different company codes.
Hence the solution that we thought of is assigning all profit centres to all company codes

  • Correcting Document Splitting

    Hi Gurus,
I have the following issue at hand:
We posted several general ledger documents, however, the document splitting rules were incorrect and thus a great number of the documents were split incorrectly.
I have corrected the document splitting rules but need to correct the historical data.
Is there a way of correcting the new G/L Tables (FAGLFLEXA, FAGLFLEXT etc) based on the entry document view related tables (BSIS)?
Is there a standard program that compares the account assignments in entry view and the general ledger view?
Please also suggest how best I can correct the errors.
For a clearer understanding look at the following scenario:
    Entry View
Line   Account      Amount       Profit Center   Segment
    1      482000121    100               10234009          023
    2      Account B    -50                10014009          001
    3      Account C    -50                10014009          001
    SAP Settings
In SAP Document splitting is active, Zero Balance Clearing per profit center.
The profit centers are attached to segments for segment reporting, however, since balance per profit center is active, the balance per segment was not activated. Please comment on this logic so that I can correct myself if the logic will not fly.
Based on the defined document splitting rules, the following was posted in the General ledger view
    General ledger view
Line   Account      Amount       Profit Center   Segment
    1      482000121    100            10234009         001
    2      Account B    -50             10014009         001
    3      Account C    -50             10014009         001
    Note:
The profit center was inherited from the base item number 3. Which makes the profit center and subsequently the segment reporting incorrect.

The profit centers are attached to segments for segment reporting, however, since balance per profit center is active, the balance per segment was not activated. Please comment on this logic so that I can correct myself if the logic will not fly.
Based on the defined document splitting rules, the following was posted in the General ledger view
    General ledger view
Line   Account      Amount       Profit Center   Segment
    1      482000121    100            10234009         001
    2      Account B    -50             10014009         001
    3      Account C    -50             10014009         001
    Note:
The profit center was inherited from the base item number 3. Which makes the profit center and subsequently the segment reporting incorrect.
