PrPro may have that but I've always just gone over to Audition ... you change speed there, you're given a choice of keeping the pitch the same or allow it to change. Note ... if there's much cha ge in speed the result can be odd.

Don't let other people access your Mac in admin mode - they might change something a lot more important than the Desktop picture.
However you can use Automator: create an Application in it, and select 'Set the Desktop Picture' from the Library. Choose the picture you want. Save the application, then go to System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items and select the Automator application you just created. This will then run at startup and set your chosen picture.

How do you make multiple libraries WITHOUT replicating similar directories?

I have two ipods and one ipad
On each, I have some of the same music, and more importantly, many of the same movies AND podcasts.
I can't figure out how to use multiple libraries that share files (on a SINGLE COMPUTER).
For example, my three libraries ALL seem to want to create a directory for the exact same podcast, which then stores the files three seperate places, killing my hard drive space.
How can I tell each seperate library to only look in one location for the podcast / movie / music files?

No.
You don't need anything connected to create playlists.
If you selected the iPad and created playlist directly on the iPad through iTunes, yes you would need it connected to edit those playlists.
But don't do it that way.
Just create them without the device connected.
Also, you don't need playlists for everything. Mainly music.
In iTunes, you can select the device (when connected) and click the Movies, Podcasts and *Music Videos* tabs and select what to sync. You can make different selections for each device.
For music, create a playlist for each device to have differnt music on each device.
Connect the device, click the Music tab, tick *Sync music*, then *Selected playlists* and tick the playlist you want on that specific device.

How can you make a background image change to a faded state at a certain point in scroll?

I'm referring to a technique I've seen used in Relevant Magazine's iPad app if anyone has used it. I understand having a shape behind text that has a feathered gradient and when you scroll the text the shape gradually fades out the background image. But this is not the effect I'm trying to acheive. On some of the articles in Relevant, the screen is a full image and as you scroll the type up, the entire background dims when you scroll to a certain spot.
I've tried searching for hours, but I feel like I'm getting no where because I don't really know what to search for. I feel like it requires use of something other than what DPS is capable of. Hopefully this makes sense and I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions and help!

Try applying the feathered gradient to the scrollable content frame, not the background frame. It will appear to change the color of the background frame.

How would you make datacopy faster in a calc?

I have a calc that looks like this and it's running quite slow because of size of data.
FIX (Scenario, Version, Product)
DATACOPY Salary>Year to Salary_Copy->Year;
DATACOPY Marketing->Year to Marketing_Copy->Year;
DATACOPY Training->Year to Training_Copy->Year;
ENDFIX
- Salary, Marketing and Training are from the Account dimension (dense). The Salary_Copy etc are also in the same Account dimension in a different tree.
- Scenario, Version and Product are Sparse.
- Year is dense
Before looking to tune other things like hardware, I wonder if I could write the script any better. For example, see below... But my question is whether DATACOPY or direct is faster? Second is whether I should put "Year" as part of the FIX or should I be using cross-dimensional operators instead?
FIX (Scenario, Version, Product, Year)
Salary = Salary_Copy;

How do you make audio tracks independent?

I need to be able to export my live audio tracks 1+2 and M+E tracks 3+4 to QT AIFF mono files
Problem is even when I unclick the speakers and select just 1+2 tracks I still end up with 3+4 mixed in as well.What am I doing wrong?

Check the Audio Outputs assignment on sequence tracks 3 & 4 as this determines the output and therefore export patching ... to see the output assignment for a given track you can right click on or around the track's track lock or auto select button and view the assignment from the context menu displayed.

NO. If you let DVDSP make your encoding you'll get uncompressed audio (AIFF/PCM) what means most probably high bitrate issues during building/playback and a lot of the space of your disc.

I don't know which old version you're referring to but iPhoto 6's, 7's and 8's retouch tool works exactly the same as iPhoto 9's. The color of the enhance tool's area while applying is a light brown color but the retouch works on any color using the surrounding colors as a basis.

You didn't say which model of iPod Nano that you have, but generally there should be a lock setting, that can be turned on or off, to prevent accidental changes in settings. And, there is also a setting to turn on or off a feature called, "Shake to Shuffle." It allows you to change songs by just shaking the iPod.
