Issue with - Connector Framework SAP EP 7.0

HI
Need assitance on usage of connector framework to connect to SAP R/3 using SSO.
I am trying to call a BAPI from a jsp iView using sap connector framework.
Release : EP (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 12).
Steps I did so far :
1. imported following jars in my project :
a. activation.jar
b. connector.jar

5. Verfied connectivity of system alias ABC with connetion test from portal.
When I test the repective iview after deployment it fails on the bold line with an error 'unable to deploy jsp'. I could verify that cgService and connection objects were initialized.
Will appreciate expert comments/suggestions on the issue.

Hi,
When you select that property, you get a value field in the bottom of the screen to enter the Cutom values.
You can give the value there and click on the Set button.
Also check the dbpool properties for this error code.

CR2008 connectivity issue with BOE Universes(sap and non sap universes)

Hi Experts !!
Recently we tried to build/connect to a Universe in Crystal Reports2008 via 'Make a new connection tab'.
The universes are of SAP BW or non SAP Lying in BOE Servers and we are trying to build reports on them by conncting/utilizing the universes as a database for Crystal Reporting.
Our issue is most of the time we are not able to connect to the Universes and the connectivity blows out by some 'communication Error' thing initially.
While at some other points in time, the connectivity takes us to the Universe and we are able to select few characteristics and key figures from the Universe but the moment we go futher and try to run by pressing 'OK' button it blows out and say' LOGON FAILED'.
Apparantly, it is an connectivity issue with BOE server and from the different blogs it looks like it is a known issue for long.
The proposed issue resolution were like either CR2008 should be SP2 with BOE SP3 or there should be some additional .dll files defined in the paths in case of MSSQL database. None of this applies to us as we are on CR2008 with SP3 and going back to SP2 is probably not a viable option for us, and we are using Oracle as underlying database in this specific case.( i would like to tell you here that we are able to connect to Oracle Database directly though).
We have raised a message with SAP and was just wondering if we do have some solution/workaround already available to this known issue in place please?

Issue with superadmin user (sap*) in portal

Hi,
I have issue with my superadmin user (SAP*) in portal system.
When I activated superadmin user (sap) from configtool and tried to login to the system with sap it is not letting me to enter into portal instead it is asking whether I am new user and also giving me link for "register user".
Please suggest.

VERY URGENT: Issue with Reconciliation against SAP Enterprise Portal

Hi,
We are using IDM7.0 and we have SAP Enterprise Portal as a resource. The users in portal are from Active Directory.
When I am doing full reconciliation against portal, it is processing only certain accounts. The reconcilaition policy is to link accounts. It is not linking teh accounts. Moreover, these accounts are not found in UNMATCHED accounts also. I don't have any account exclusion rules or something.
I wrote a small code snippet, which does just a single account reconciliation of a particular user id. In this case the portal account is being reconciled and linked properly.
Any ideas what the issue might be?
And I have another question too.. in the schema attributes of the out-of-box SAP Portal resource adapter, I don't see any ammping entry for "accountId". Usually for other resource adapters there would be entry for accountId (e.g in AD, mapping is: accountId <---> sAMAccountName). In case of portal, do we need to explicitly set this mapping? If so what would be the right hand side name in the schema? Does the right hand side name changes from one deployment to the other? If so how to determine what attribute maps to accountId in our portal? Might this lack of accountId is causing the issue with the reconciliation?
Any leads would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I have already set up correlation rule, account linking options for different situations like FOUND, UNASSIGNED, UNMATACHED etc. If my linking configurtaion is not correct then the fetched accounts should be atleast in the account index with situation as UNMATCHED. But that is not the case.
I am not sure if I made my problem difinition clear earlier. The problem I mentioned is not with "linking" of the accounts. The problem is IDM is detecting only some accounts. Among those set of accounts which IDM was able to fetch from portal during reconcilaition, it was able to successfully link the matching accounts to identities in IDM.
My question is, why IDM is fetching only certain accounts and not all accounts from portal resource.
As I mentioned earlier, when I run my code snippet to reconcile a single account, it reconciles successfully and links to user identity in IDM (if a matching idenity exists based on my correlation rule). But why the reconcilaition at the resource level is not able to fetch and reconcile teh same account.
Regarding the accountId attribute in the attribute schema, neither the SUN documentation nor the resource adapter configuration tells about the name of the attribute on the portal side that it should match to.

Issue with the Framework Purchase Order

Background: Using the Framework Purchase Order in the Plant Maintenance module for external operations:
When The Framework Purchase Order is used for external services procurement with service specifications, Purchase Requisitions are created based on the quantity of services requested against the Maintenance Order. Since I am using the service specifications, limits are not used in the Framework Order.
Problem:
The system does not do any check on the quantity that is requested for a service against that in the Framework Order. Hence the PRs get created linked to the Framework Order for whatever quantity requested in the Maintenance Order. Now the vendor submits the Service Entry sheets against those PRs released with respect to the Framework Order. That time the system does not allow the SES to be posted, because it exceeded the service quantity in the Framework order service specifications. In otherwords, there is no check against the framework order service quantity, when requisitions are released against the Framework order in the Maintenance Order. The check at the the time of SES is too late causing problems for mass creation of service entry sheets and also if external data entry is done for the SES by the vendor.
Is there any setting or configuration in SAP that helps to circumvent this issue? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

M_BEST_BSA and M_BEST_EKO are not set to CHECK -> Value "NO".
If the check is not set to the standard delivered SAP what is the value in SU24 ? Has it been changed to CHECK > YES or DO NOT CHECK ?
I am sure you are aware that SAP does not deliver all objects coded in the programme under AUTHORITY-CHECK Statement in the SU24 Indicators with a CHECK > YES that are in transaction ME28. SAP only deliver a fraction of the values in the proposal as YES and the rest must be maintianed by the security team as they are discovered to be relevant to your organisations need of the particular functions within the transaction.This will then keep PFCG updated with all the CHECK YES objects the next time you add transaction ME28.
In other words all the objects listed in SU24 ( that are CHECK ) for ME28 will all be coded in the programme somewhere but it depends on which bits of the functionality within ME28 you are using that determines if they are called.

Smart form printing issue with LOCL and SAP printer

Hi,
The issues are as follows:
1. the top portion of the Invoice and PO does not print when using the SAP printer (works when using LOCL)
2. the shaded areas of the Order Confirmation and Invoice are black when printing to a SAP printer (works when using LOCL)
In an attempt to correct the printing issue is was suggested that we change the SAP printer device type from HPLJ4 to POST2. This did address the problem where the shaded areas were black but then we received reports that other reports printed "garbage". Its possible that using POST2 device type causes issues when printing to HP compatible printers.
Apparently all the testing was done using the SAP printer LOCL and not the SAP printer name and SAP spool system. LOCL uses the SAP GUI and Windows system to produce the output. Our production users at the plant site and Toledo are using SAP defined printers with the device type of HPLJ4. HPLJ4 is our standard here as OC for our printer definitions and we have HP compatible printers installed in our Toledo location and all of our remote sites. We need to be able to correctly print the Invoices, Purchase Orders, Sales Order Confirmations on our SAP printers.
What can be done to the reports to allow them to print on our HPLJ4?

Hi Prathap,
Check the background shading of the windows of the Smartform where you get the black boxes. If it is set something like this:
   Color: White
   Saturation: 100%
this can be the problem.
I know it is strange but some black and white printers cannot handle this setting. They only know one color black so the ignore the color setting and just take the saturation 100% setting.
The reason it works with local and device type SAPWIN is that the print data is created in Windows and sent to the printer as graphic.
Please change the shading for window MAIN -> tab 'Output Options' to:
   Color: Black
   Saturation: 0%
and this should resolve the problem.
Then create a new spool and check if the problem is resolved. See SAP Note #400050.

Issue with Infoset of sap query

There is an existing 'z' Sap query and the inofet is created using the data source 'Data retreival by program'(Data structure:BAPIEXPLOSIONLIST).
I got the requirement to add onemore radiobutton(for Costing Run) to the selection screen of exsiting query and when the radio button is clicked on, it should display two more fields (Costing Run name and Costing Run date).So,I have added the below lines in the existing Infoset.
1.Under the extras button and in data read program tab,I have added the below code for radio button and the two fields for selection.

How to retreive the old selection-screen with previous texts and formats.
Can any one suggest to resolve the issue?

Issue with Action pane sap bpc 7.5 MS

Hello All,
Got a issue , when clicking the dimension to select members in action pane it shows blank box .
Is there any XLS setting that needs to be in place OR any other thing needs to be fixed??
It happens only with one id.

Hi Venkat,
if your sp is 3 or lower then this is an old issue and you have to upgrade to sp4 or higher, if it occurs on web see please this note 1746878 - BPC MS: Action Pane Disappears from BPC Web Interface otherwise plese add you sp version.

Issue with Crystal Report & SAP B1 8.8

I imported my crystal report in SAP.
When I want to edit the report throught SAP, it opens the report on crystal report session.
The problem is when I want to save the file. It wants to save in a temporal file.
How I can solve it ? where SAP save the .RPT flie ?

Hi,
You can save your edit CR (Crystal Report) in .rpt file.
Once you have imported CR
Admin > Setup > General > report n layout....
Select Your CR
Click on Edit button
now new window is open that is CR in editable form
Go in File Menu of CR > Save As > "Give your location"
Which will save as .rpt format....

Issue with the standard SAP Extractor 2LIS_04_P_COMP

Hello gurus,
I am working on the PP and PM module. the standard extractor 2LIS_04_P_COMP is already in use in the development system .
I have made the changes to the Production Order (PO) and check the delta for the BW load the changes in the field release, deliver and PO confirm are not populated with the values, But when i check the same in COR3 tcode this PO has the above all status.
Could you please let me know why its behaving in this way. did any one has faced this scenario..

Label printing issue with chinese characters (SAP script)

I have a requirement to print chinese characters on label print out.
Here are the steps already tried:
1) Created a new device type which is copy if ASCIIPRI and character set 8400
2) Font ANDALE_S, CNHEI, CNSONG are assigned to device type, same fonts called in SAP script.
3) During the print, it is picking ANDALE_S font(observed in spool RAW data), but preview is good.
4) I put ZPL codes CW1,B:MSUNG.FNTFS in beginning of script and also ^A@N,50,50,B:MSUNG.FNT while prining actual chinese text in SAP script.
5) also tried other device types assigned to printer LZEBU2, LB_ZEB2 etc.,
6) already checked at printer DIMM level, SIMSUN, ANDALE_S fonts are already installed
7) Character set on printer is same as in SAP
So far no option worked, it default to Courier fonts while printing and it results garbage characters.
If anyone has ideas, please advice.

Hi,,
If the ZPL commands are correct for switching to the printer's internal CHinese font and character set, it may work to add the fonts via SE73 -> Printer Fonts -> ASCIIPRI . In here you need to add the commands in the print control SFxxx for your created font.
Another possibility is to print via windows and device type CNSAPWIN. Here it should not be necessary to add any font.

During sending messages into internal JMS queue we sent messages bigger than 1MB. After that, JMS queue was not able to process any other messages even if it was smaller than 1MB. Same issue occured if there was more smaller messages sent in short time (e.g. in 2 seconds). We don't have any significant error message in any log.

Please let us know:
-if there is any log which indicates this behaviour without making thread dump
-which limits must be fulfilled to process messages without this error
-how to unblock this lock for processing correct messages without restarting NW - or if there is any predefined timout which kill this locked session and disable uncorrect message
-how to manage records in bc_jmsqueue table for removing big messages from queue if there were loaded already
-how to stop application which caused this problem. If we try to stop it through standard stop_App, application stays in Stopping mode forever.
This problem occured in test environment and also in productive environment using the same SAP NW. Now - we do not have any work around solution..... therefore periodically we need to restart SAP NW....

Business Connector 4.7 connection issue with GB HMRC

Inland Revenue have changed their URL's and SAP issued a new note 1614588 for this change. As instructed in the note I installed the new package and now when we try to poll with Inland revenue we get a connection refused.
I am not too familiar with the Business connector. I have looked in the log but cannot find what URL it is trying to access. I also noticed the package in the note is exactly the same size as the old one and the files included in the package are all modified in 2006. This implies to me that nothing was changed between the old package we had and the new one. I have raised this issue with SAP but have got no response yet.
Any suggestions on how to investigate this connection refused issue?

I never found and anwser to this problem, I was forced to create an webclient and exchange an XML file. Which also only worked correctly if the content-type was equal to:
ContentType = "application/x-sap.rfc; charset=UTF-8";
