For future reference, Safari Plugins are kept in Macintosh HD> Library> Internet Plugins.
To unhide the Library folder, open up Terminal (just type"Terminal" into spotlight) and type:
chflags nohidden ~/Library

Mail is getting mail from inactive account

In Mountain Lion's mail app, I had an old POP account that I wanted to keep in my list for easy access to old messages. (I had switched to IMAP for the same account since, which means a separate account for that, but that's another beef entirely!).
The preferences for the old account, before and since Mavericks, have the "include when automatically checking for new messages" box UNchecked. It worked in Mountain Lion. In Mavericks, as soon as I open Mail it immediately starts getting messages from the old account.
Apart from de-"enabling" the account, making it disappear, I can't stop the new Mail from getting messages even though the preferences tell it not to.. Help please?

Csound1, the problem is with active accounts. Rex's explaination is exactly how many of us used the "automatically check" box ... that does not function with Maverick's mail. Basically, I have multiple POP accounts being pulled into a single IMAP account (because POP email accounts don't sync between devices). I need to list the IMAP account and POP accounts to be able to send mail from the appropriate account. Since Mavericks, now all the POP accounts with the "automatic check" box UNchecked since pull in all messages - which doubles messages in my inbox. Since I use the POP accounts to send messages from, they need to be listed and active accounts.
Does anyone know of any other way to set-up a (POP) email account to SEND only????
BTW - Apple Engineers are "working" on this issue (Case #527095631). Had a few conversations with them this past week and they've taken a couple scans of my mail. Since this is an ongoing issue, hopefully they'll respond this time.

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

Start with the first article to troubleshoot the issue of not getting mail on your iPad. When you get online using safari, check to see if you can log into webmail. Also keep in mind, depending on the account that mail sometimes might not come in if it is a POP account as it may have already been download elsewhere.

Did you click the Verify Now link in the verification email from Apple (see image below)? If not, make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like your daughter may have set up an alias account under iCloud. Your AppleID email address may or may not be the same as you iCloud email address, depending on how it was set up.
