Unable to send or receive emails! When I first bought my Macbook I never paid for the mac mail. I have tried to find Mobile Me to no avail. What software program do I need to send emails??

Hi all! I bought my macbook pro around two years ago. I currently have the Snow Leopard operating system. I have just clicked on Lion to upgrade however I am aware that the Mac Mail required you to pay for it? I click on the mail link and it does not work i.e. the send button is greyed out. Please advise?

You don't need to pay anything extra for Apple Mail. You may need to pay extra money to Yahoo and/or Hotmail if you want to connect to them with a true e-mail client like Apple Mail. I would provide links for more information, but it appears to be not quite supported. I think it is a service for mobile applications that people on computers can connect to if they hack around a bit. Your ability to connect with Apple Mail depends on how much you want to hack around.
The easiest solution would be to wait a few weeks until Apple rolls out iCloud. Then you will be able to sign up for that instead of the defunct MobileMe.

Me too - running iTunes 10.5.3 on Windows 7. Will allow me to sign in to iTunes, download app updates and then if I either close iTunes or try to sign out of my iTunes account it all freezes. Sign into the App Store with your Apple ID. App Store should be in the Dock.

No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?

This is a Fault of the newer Mac's Power management scheme. There is a LONG Thread on it somewhere on this forum.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds then let it up. Then wait a few seconds and press it again. The system should start back up. If it doesn't then you have some type of hardware problem and you need to take it to Apple to be fixed or replaced.

When i send an e-mail out with my iCloud account it does go out but it never arrives at the e-mail address.

I am sending out e-mails from my IMC desktop from my Icloud account. It makes the swooshing sound so it sounds like it is been delievered. But sometimes it never arrives at the e-mail address. I double checked the "sent addresses" and they are correct. What is going on here? Thank you

I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

In your email settings on the phone check to make sure it is set to receive emails on cellular network. It's a feature you can turn off so your phone isn't constantly updating emails on the cell network, but if you are usually in a place with wifi and aren't concerned about going over your data allowance, you can turn it back on.
