Unusual Apache error_log entries

My Apache error_log (and my wife's) are full of these:
[Mon Feb 04 13:19:31 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/crls
[Mon Feb 04 13:19:31 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/crls
[Mon Feb 04 13:19:31 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/crls
[Mon Feb 04 13:27:56 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/crls
[Mon Feb 04 13:27:56 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/crls
They seem to appear randomly. We've wondered whether it was Safari, Versions or something else causing them, but they appear even when those are quit.
Sometimes they're a bit different:
[Fri Aug 17 15:09:05 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/ThawtePremiumServerCA.crl
or:
[Thu Aug 23 08:51:07 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/SVRSecureG3.cer
They've appeared for as long as I can remember (so probably from Snow Leopard onwards) and they drive us a bit crazy!
It's just one of those things that's always been annoying and it'd be wonderful if someone out there knew what the issue was.
Many thanks in anticipation!

Thanks very much for the reply.
No luck though - those commands didn't seem to do anything.
One odd thing is that, when I restart Apache, it does take a while before the errors start appearing again.
They also happen when I'm not using it so it must be something the machine's doing in the background.
Just noticed I posted this reply using my developer account, hence the different profile name!

  • Weird error_log entries and apache crashing

    Hi, I've got a 3.0.9.8.1 install on NT4 SP6 against a 8.1.7.1.1 EE db.
    After a couple of hours use I received a 503 time out error whilst creating a QBE Report. Bouncing Apache and db brought it back up and running and the report seemed ok.
    Taking a look in the error_log file I noticed these entries. Can anyone shed any life on what is happening here?

    A couple of extra things to add. During the 3.0.9.8.1 patch I replaced the wwpage.jar file but wasn't too sure of the exact format to use for minInstall and minTimeout parameters in the zone.properties file. Can someone indicate how this should be.
    Also after the 9iAS base install, prior to running the OPCA I ran in the following script as SYS. vpdctx.sql

    Welcome to the forums !
    Does your application function normally without errors ? If so, these messages can be ignored.
    Pl see MOS Doc 422419.1 (R12, 12.1.1 - How To Enable and Collect Debug for HTTP, OC4J and OPMN) for specific settings that can cause these messages to be recorded in the logs.

  • Strange apache2 error_log entry

    Every few seconds an entry "/var/empty/server-status" appears in the apache2 error_log (Mac OS X Server 10.6.7). What is the meaning of this? Also, I do not know what instance is writing to this log since each website writes to its own error log. Is it apache2 itself?

    I solved my problem by creating a (empty) folder in /var/empty/ named "server-status". The error log no longer gets populated with the error entries. However, I ask myself, isn't this solution equally empty-headed?

  • Errors in apache error_log

    I have installed 4.20.983 on a RHEL 3 update 7 x86_64 server. I keep seeing error messages in the SGD webserver error log file:
    /opt/tarantella/webserver/apache/1.3.33_mod_ssl-2.8.22_openssl-0.9.7e_jk1.2.8/htdocs/favicon.ico
    not existing as well as files in the htdocs/style directory. The favicon.ico file does not exist nor does the style directory. Should they exist, i.e. do I have a bad install?

    favicon.ico is a small icon that you create; it's that little icon that shows up to the left of the URL in the address/location window at the top of the browser.
    If you want one, google something like "favicon.ico create" or the like; if you don't have one, it's not exactly critical.

  • 11i Apache error_log

    Hi All,

    Hi,
    $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf
    loglevel is debugChange the value of loglevel to warn (either manually and bounce Apache, or by setting the value of "s_apache_loglevel" and run AutoConfig), and see if you can reproduce the issue then.
    In my old solaris8 i was not getting these messages but now i am getting it , do you have any idea why?I do not think it is something to do with the OS migration as it is with the debug level value, so please try the above and see if it helps.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Where is the entry which autostart opmn processes and agent on linux COS53?

    Hi,
    I set up successfully a 10.2.0.5 on CentOS 5.3 (like OEL 5.3),
    I see that the opmn processes and the agent are started at boot.
    Because I set up the repository on a 10.2.0.4 DB on the same machine I would need to set the start after the DB is up and running (either manage by myself the opmnctl , etc, or editing the current start process to add the dbstart procedure before.
    I took a look but I do not see en entry in init.d or in rc.local.
    I am missing something.
    Could someone give some info?
    Thanks

  • Problem with retrieving data from Oracle 10g / PHP4.3 / Apache 1.3.27

    Hi,
    I re-open a new thread following the opened post 'Getting RPMs for php-oracle for PHP4.3 on RHEL 4.0 and issue with OCI8 '
    I could re-installed PHP4.3 and apache 1.3.27 from the normal tar package (./configure then make) - I had some issues with the RPMs packages before.
    I could connect successfully PHP4.3 to my Oracle 10g DB with no issues by using some of the (deprecated) functions contained in oracle.so library in command line mode by executing a simple PHP script ;-)
    But ...when I try to execute the same script (a simple log on to the DB) or the application throught my web browser there are some errors in the apache error_log file that crash the process:
    [Wed Jul 25 13:19:23 2007] [notice] child pid 25450 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
    [Wed Jul 25 13:19:31 2007] [notice] child pid 25451 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

    [Fri Jul 27 04:39:56 2007] [notice] child pid 20550 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
    After some investigations it looks like this is due to the connection of Oracle 10G and php.
    I tried to recompile Apache as the following:
    # cd /usr/src/apache_1.3.xx
    # make clean
    # LIBS=-lpthread ./config.status
    # make
    # make install
    but the issue is the same ...
    How can I workaround that issue and fix it in order to connect to Oracle 10 G by using PHP4.3 / apache 1.3.27 ?
    I need to use the oracle.so library to avoid to re-rewrite all my application ...
    Any help much very appreciated !
    Cheers
    Dominique

    You are in unchartered territory. But check the common "gotcha" and
    make sure that all the Oracle environment variables are set in the
    shell that starts Apache. Load the script <?php phpinfo(); ?> in a
    browser and see that whatever variables you need are set in the
    Environment section. See the section "Oracle Environment Variables
    for Connections" in Underground PHP and Oracle Manual
    I suspect it would be beneficial to migrate the PHP code to oci8.
    Check table 16-1 in Underground PHP and Oracle Manual for the mapping
    between 'oracle' and 'oci8' functions.

  • Problems with Oracle, Apache, mod_ssl and firewalls - hang

    Hi,
    We have an Apache server as supplied by Oracle (1.3.19), serving both
    static html and mod_plsql pages.
    When the system is accessed via SSL and the Internet, it will tend to hang
    after a relatively short time - especially if two people access at the same
    time. This is seen at the browser as a page that simply fails to arrive,
    there is no standard 'Page could not be found' type message.
    A network sniffer seems to show that there is some continuing network
    traffic, but the Apache error_log does not show activity.
    If the system is accessed without SSL but still via the Internet then there
    appears to be no problems and the system runs a lot faster than SSL +
    Internet.
    If the system is accessed with SSL but internally so avoiding the Internet
    then there also appears to be no problems and the system runs faster than
    SSL + Internet.
    Our servers are running NT4 SP6.
    Our firewall is Checkpoint NG running on Solaris (although we also
    swapped in a Nokia firewall running Checkpoint 4.1 which had the same
    results).
    Any thoughts on what might be occurring, what we should be looking at
    next?

  • PHP crashing Apache process on 10.6.x

    I have the stock Snow Leopard versions of Apache and PHP enabled on my iMac (a 2006 running the current 10.6.8).  It is set up for local development testing only (host entries like mysite.local 127.0.0.1 and Apache config entries), and things generally work fine.  However, occasionally I'll load a PHP file, edit the source code (using BBEdit), and quickly switch back to the browser and reload.  Every now and then the reload takes a few seconds longer than it should, and it turns out the httpd process handling it had crashed (and presumably was restarted).  The crash logs generally look like this:
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: 0x000000000000000d, 0x0000000000000000

    My guess is that apache or php has cached the script file or a file system reference to it, or something related to it, and editing change/save somehow invalidates this without its knowing, or the browser refresh comes so quickly after the save it hasn't received some notification from the file system.  This has happened over a year or two with whatever versions of apache/php were current with OSX 10.6.x at the time - it isn't new, and in my case it is more of a nuisance than a showstopper.
    I was just wondering if anyone else has ever run into the same issue - I'd be interested to know if it goes away with Lion, for instance, or if anyone has seen something similar with custom builds of PHP.

  • Can't locate Geo/Gpx.pm in @INC apache

    Though there are many queries flowing around asking the same question. But here the error is thrown by apache instead of Perl. I am trying to create an XML Response for the client on Mac OS X Mavericks and have written the perl script as follows:
    #!/usr/bin/perl -wT
    use lib '/opt/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.16.1/Geo';
    use strict;
    use CGI;
    use Geo::Gpx;
    open (FH, "/tmp/temp/file.txt") or print ("Unable to Open File");
    my $gpx = Geo::Gpx->new;
    my $cgi = CGI->new;
    print $cgi->header(-type=>"text/gpx",-status=>"200 OK");
    my $lon;
    my @arr = <FH>;
    foreach(@arr){
    my %waypoints;
    my $var = $_;
    my @lat = split(/\s+/,$var);
    #@waypoints=split(/\s+/,$_);
    $waypoints{$lat[0]}=$lat[1];
    $waypoints{$lat[2]}=$lat[3];
    $gpx->add_waypoint(\%waypoints);
    my $xml = $gpx->xml;
    print $xml;
    open FILE, ">/tmp/temp/xmlfile.xml" or die $!;
    print FILE $xml;
    close (FILE);
    close(FH);
    For the apache to find the actual path of the Gpx.pm, I have used 'use lib' to show it the real path of the file. Although this script is working perfectly on command line, my apache server is throwing the following error:
    [Tue Nov 26 18:34:51 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Can't locate Geo/Gpx.pm in @INC

    I have used macports and have found searching through the Web that Mavericks has got perl 5.16 preinstalled. So apache may be using that and perl is using the macport installed libraries. On checking the paths mentioned by apache error_log file as I posted above, I have copied Gpx.pm in one of the libraries installed in Geo Folder but still not getting it resolved. On running 'which perl' The result
    /opt/local/bin/perl
    And 'which cpan' is giving
    /opt/local/bin/cpan
    Kindly fix this issue as I am not able to move forward because of this. And I am not so familiar with apache.
    Thanks

    You can use CPAN from the Terminal:
    <pre class="command">sudo perl -MCPAN -e shell</pre>Then, once you set up CPAN, just run:
    <pre class="command">install Bundle::LWP</pre>at the CPAN shell prompt. If you've already set up CPAN, you could try:
    <pre class="command">perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::LWP'</pre>though I've never done it that way.
    For what it's worth, I've had trouble with CPAN not working until I install LWP, so I just go to the CPAN web site and download it from its page. Unpack it, move to its main directory, and then use:
    <pre class="command">make
    make test
    sudo make install</pre>just like any other Perl module.

  • Apache server in oracle

    Hi
    I have installed oracle version 9.2 under linux 7.3. Also we are trying to install another apache. Now my problem is that even though i have stopped the oracle apache and try running the apache under root i get an error 'You need to supply a username and a password to access this site. SITE XDB at superO'. I was informed by one of my colleagues that the problem is because of oracle apache. In this case if i have to uninstall oracle apache server, how do i do it and will there be any effect on the oracle installed, or i have to deinstall oracle and reinstall again.
    Thanks

    as far as de-installing Apache server installed along with Oracle is concerned, you need to run the
    Oracle installer again (runInstaller script), and select de-install products from the main screen.
    from there select the apache server entries and remove them.
    But havaing Oracle Apache should not hava any effect since the configuration files for the two installations
    should be at different locations.
    You need to check the httpd.conf script for the apache web server and make sure that you have anonymous
    access to the web server enabled.

    how can i solve the problem ?

    I had this same error, but msvcp70.dll and msvcr70.dll were already in my system32 directory. I took care of the problem by modifying the PATH environment variable to position the "<agent_root>\bin" and "<agent_root>\apache\bin" entries before the system32 path entries.
