Wrong VAT amount in MIRO (Excise duty inclusive case)

Hi All,
I have created purchase order with excise duty as inclusive. I have captured the vendor excise invoice & posted  it. Upto this point all is working fine.
When i am  going to do MIRO ,the vat amount is also showing correct ( calculated on Base price+ ED).
But when i am changing the tax code ,the VAT is calculated on Base price only.
It is not considering the amount of Excise duty posted .
Besides excise duty inclusive case ,when we are changing the tax code in  MIRO where certain percentage for the conditions is maintained like (821+vat 5%) ,VAT amount is correct.Only problem is with the excise duty inclusive cae.
All the configuration & transaction data is properly maintained .
Please guide ,
Regards,
SAP MM INDIA

Create a seperate tax code for dealer with ed + vat combination,
here maintain tax rates for excise condition types as zero.
Maintain that tax code in p.o.Do GR as suggested in sap note
See Note 1104456 - Use of MRP indicator for capturing excise duties from dealer for more information.
In MIRO,Enter base amount removing excise duty values, select tax code only in header.
Reply given by p.singh is also very important point to note regarding VAT condition type.

  • Excise duty inclusive

    Hi guys,
We are facing a problem in procurement with excise duty inclusive.  The following is the scenario
    Basic rate    10,000
    bed                1,600
    ecs                    32
    secess               16
    vat                 1,456
    total            13104
In the Purchase Order we give the rate inclusive of ex i.e 11,648 /- and at the time of MIGO, we are selecting MRP indicator tick in excise tab and entering bed, ecs and secess values here.
Inventorisation is being done only with 10,000 rupees.  In posting of E.I. also, the ed amount is being posted properly.  But at the time of MIRO, VAT is being calculated on (11648+1648).  It should be calculated only on 11648.
How can we resolve this?  Any help

    Dear Chintu,
    Go to OBYZ
    Select procedure
    Go to taxinn
    double click on control
    Check from and to
If there VAT condition routine is calculate on the base of Basic price+duty then system is showing as you are seeing.
Is you want VAT calculation on basic price ( it seems from your message)
then you have to create new condition for VAT and give subroutine number against basic price.

  • VAT on Base price+ Excise duty + Freight

    Hi
Im using TAXINN Procedure. I have got two scenarios for VAT.
1)some vendors charge VAT on   Base price+ Excise duty & then add freight.
      which I have mapped.
2)In second scenario some vendors charge VAT on (Base price+ Excise duty + Freight). which I am unable to map.
how can i do it in TAXINN (condition based procedure)...
    pls help..
    thanks n regards
    pravin

    Hi
For calculation VAT on freight, a routine has to be built and to be assigned for the customized freignt condition in pricing procedure.
(In case of TAXINJ, you can use the appropriate tax code during MIRO)

  • Excise Duty Inclusive in basic price

    Dear Experts,
when the excise duty is included in the price, we enable the check box MRP Indicator in the excise tab while doing MIGO and based on this the GRN will be posted deducting the excise values from the price.
but the trouble is, while doing MIRO, the system is not taking the posted value in GRN, rather the basic price plus the excise duty. How to overcome this to that the value proposed by the system is exclusive of excise duty?
    regards
    Suresh

    hi,
say the value is 10,000 which is inclusive of 1000 excise duty.
while posting the GRN we will enable the MRP indicator and based on this the GRN value will be posted as 9000 and the 1000 will be captured as excise duty
but while doing the MIRO, either by giving the Purchase order or Delivery note as the reference, the value proposed by the system is 10,000 and not 9000. I know that we can change the values, but the client requires that the system has to propose the value as 9000 instead of 10,000
    hope it is clear

  • Wrong tax amount in MIRO

    Dear All
Scenario is explained as below :-
Whenever there will be service tax on software in my PO VAT No Deductable will be calculated on Net Price + Service tax on Software in other case VAT wil be calculated on Net Price only.
ZSER - Condition type for Service tax on Software
ZVRO - VAT Non Deducatble (Copied from JVRO).
I have made changes in tax procedure TAXINN such that ZVRO in calculated on Net Price and Service tax on S/w i.e. ZSER.
I made a PO with net price 290 INR and used condition type [email protected]% and ZVRO@5%. In PO ZSER is  29.87 INR  and ZVRO is 15.99 INR whic is correct but at the time of MIRO, when I tick on calculate tax,tax is appearing as 14.50 INR.
    I think VAT is getting calculated on 290 INR i.e. 5% of 290 INR = 14.50 INR.
Please suggest how to get correct tax amount in MIRO.
    Regards
    SK

    Dear SK,
Materials Management -> Purchasing -> Conditions -> Define Price Determination Process ->Define Calculation Schema
goto  Procedure and check the control data. how you made the calculation of VAT.
If the Calculation is OK in PO than it should be right in MIRO.

  • Table to read vat amount of MIRO at item level

    Hi,
I making a purchase register in which all amount rdetais are required at item level  but from tables , RKPF, RSEG, I am getting the base amount at item level,  but in which table I can get the vat amount which is posted for individual item in table BSET  i can see the all tax amounts which are posted but how to link this with item number  there is no ref. field for this.
is there any table for MIRO entry with item wise tax details.
    regards,
    zafar

You can simulate VAT calculation via RSEG base amount WRBTR and VAT code MWSKZ ([CALCULATE_TAX_ITEM|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?query=calculate_tax_item]). But beware of rounding errors in the calculation.
Remember that the calculation of VAT is the responsibility of the supplier.

    Billing:
    DR - Customer
    CR - Cenvat Suspence Accc
    Excise Invoice
    Dr - Cenvat SSE
    Dr - Payables
now when we do goods returns:

  • Inclusive of excise duty issue

    Hi,
We encountered a issue in case of inclusive of excise duty procurement. I will try to explain it here.
We have punched a PO with excise duty inclusive and the tax code as per the vendor's terms.
The GR based IV is checked.
We made GRN with reference to this PO. In this GRN we put the excise values in appropriate places. Here we have not checked the MRP indicator in excise invoice header.
In the invoice verification when we give the inputs system is fetching the values as per the PO and not as per the GRN.
This scenario is done with text material. The scenario works fine with material code.
Now my question is when system fetches values from PO while LIV and not from GRN? One more thing i have tried this scenario with MRP indicator checked but same results are found.
    regards,
    Adwait Bachuwar

Here we have not checked the MRP indicator in excise invoice header.
Now my question is when system fetches values from PO while LIV and not from GRN?
If MRP indicator is not ticked, how system will split excise from base value frm p.o in GR excise &
also need to orginal base value without excise while invoicing.
My suggestion for dealer purchase is you need to create seperate tax code to handle it.
I don't have any idea about how MRP indicator works for text material ?
Refer Note 1104456 - Use of MRP indicator for capturing excise duties from dealer

  • Excise duty payable amount in words

    hi kings
I show the tax amount split in pld's .but our customers need to show the amount in words when Excise duty comes.but when using group the value store in single variable how i show the amount in words excise duty only
    Thanks & Best Regards
    B.Lakshmi Narayanan

By grouping u can't get excise duty, which can be displayed in words using PLD,
Better use Crystal reports to acheive this.

  • Duty inclusive scenario in plant

    Dear All,
I am creating a PO for zero excise duty with tax procedure TAXINN. Vendor send the material with the PO price, as excise duty inclusive. At the time of GR I put the excise duties manually and select the MRP indicator. The accounting document is created during GR with the debit to inventory account the value ( PO price less the duties manually added at the time of GR) and credit to GR/IR account. Excise invoice is posted with the debit to excise duty account and credit to cenvat clearing account.
When I am creating MIRO, the duty amount is loaded on the inventory account of the material and not the cenvat clearing account. I dont know why this is happening.
    Pls help
    Regards.

    Hi,
Check in OB40 T code. Against that Tax code whether yu have maintained the G/L or not.
One more thing at the time of IV you have to change the amount to  the Base amount (PO Value- Excise amount) .

  • Supplementary excise duty

In some of the cases, the purchase order is made without specifying excise duty amount when the material is received from traders.  In normal course traders do raise the bill on basic price and excise duty amount and subsequently when they clear the whole consignment, they have to raise invoice for supplementary excise duty in case the material is sold at the higher value:
Example : Purchase order of scrap is issued as under:
Basic price : Rs.27,000/- PMT plus excise duty
The bill is received as under:
Basic price : Rs.27,000/- PMT plus excise duty Rs.3316.60 (presuming the assessable value as Rs.23,000/-PMT).
    1.     Now subsequently when the whole consignment is being sold and average price is calculated, as per excise law, the trader has to pay excise duty on the price he has obtained the material or at the price at which he has sold the material, which is higher.  In present case the price is higher and hence supplementary invoice for excise duty for Rs.576.80 would be raised on the company
Since while doing the migo and miro, the whole amount is being set off against purchase order and the company does not have any option to entertain the additional/supplementary excise invoice.

    Hi,
Use Additional Excise concept of Excise JV (J1IH) for this.
Making Adjustment Postings for Additional Excise Paid by Vendors
Use: - You follow this procedure if a vendor has increased the amount of excise duty that it originally charged you and you want to debit the difference to your CENVAT account.
    Procedure: -
    1. J1IH > Excise JV > Additional excise.
    2. Enter data as required.
In the Document number field, enter then number of the document sent to you by the vendor.
    3. Click on u201CEnteru201D button.
    4. Adjust the posting date as necessary and Enter Vendor Name.
    5. Enter the amount of excise duty in either of the following ways:
u2022 To enter line items for different materials and the excise duty accordingly, choose u201CDetailsu201D button and enter the line items in the table.
Here Enter Material code, quantity as per excise invoice, reference document (i.e. GRN Document), batch no., BED and Ed Cess Amount to be posted.
u2022 To enter the excise duty only, choose u201CHeaderu201D button and enter the excise duty in the totals fields at the foot of the screen.
    6. If the duty qualifies as countervailing duty (CVD):
    a. Select CVD applicable.
    b. Enter the CVD amount in the BED amount field.
    7. Specify which G/L accounts are to be posted to.
    8. Save the adjustment posting.
System will post Excise JV Document; Accounting Document with Part2 Serial No has been successfully created.
    After J1IH, following FI Entry will get posted;
    CENVAT Input BED - Dr
    CENVAT Input ECS - Dr
    CENVAT Input SECess - Dr
    CENVAT Clearing A/c - Cr
In MIRO, use GL Account Tab and enter CENVAT Clearing A/c with amount posted in J1IH as Debit entry, as a result it will credit the Vendor A/c.

  • Basic excise duty calculated in duty free deemed export

    Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue where system calculates basic excise duty in case of deemed export(duty free) . In some invoices it calculates basic excise duty though it should not calculate as it is duty free.
    Our scenario is like this:-
At sales order  in deemed export we take alternative tax classification as "7"( Header level - Billing tab). Due to this my JMOD value becomes Zero which is ok. Another condition type is JEX2 which is 100% of JMOD.
Now while creating invoice at VF01, value of JMOD AND JEX2 are Zero which is absolutely OK. But at the time of release to accounting system update 12% value in JEX2 only which flows to G/L.
    Example:-
    This case is ok.
    Condition type                                      Price
    PR00                                                  100
    UTXJ(100% Of PR00)                           100
    JMOD                                                 0
    JEX2(100% OF JMOD)                         0
    Wrong duty calulation
    Condition type                                      Price
    PR00                                                  100
    UTXJ(100% Of PR00)                           100
    JMOD                                                 0
    JEX2(100% OF JMOD)                         12
In our most case this work fine means if JMOD is 0 then JEX2 is also 0, But in some invoices system calculate or update JEX2 with 12% value after release to account which is not at all required.
We have checked all the customization setting which are ok.
Please advise why system is behaving this way only in case of some invoices.
Your efforts will be highly appreciable.
    Regards,
    Dharminder

    Dear Experts,
If anyone face this issue please give your valuable inputs. I will highly appreciates if got some advise or suggestion on the  issue in J1IIN
We have done the debug at our end and following is the observation
The name of the include is - MJ1IINF01
The variable that needs to be watched is - CUST_TYP
The perform called during the execution is DETERMINE_INVOICE_TYPE
    1) Export first and deemed next
When we first create invoice for export the variable CUST_TYP is set to
“F” and the invoice is created as per expected with correct duties.
After this if we create a deemed invoice without exiting the screen the
invoice type under “UTILIZATION”, include keeps CUST_TYP as “F” and
    do
not change it to “L”. Hence it remains export. Which is the cause of
problem we are facing at present..
But in next case it changes CUST_TYP properly as explained below.
    2) Deemed first and Export next
When we first create invoice for deemed the variable CUST_TYP is set to
“L” and the invoice is created as per expected with correct duties.
After this if we create a export invoice without exiting the screen the
invoice type under “UTILIZATION” include changes CUST_TYP as “F” and
    hence we get desired effect.
Our analysis shows that the include is not able to change variable
CUST_TYP to “L” from “F” in first case. But in second case it is
correctly changes to “F” from “L”.
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    Dharminder
