1 InfoCube or 3 InfoCubes

Question

Is the following correct?
Instead of putting all the Billing, Sales Orders, and Allocation Scheduling standard Business Cntent extractor data into 1 InfoCube, I separated them into 3 different infoCubes. I then created a MultiCube and link these together and created a report on the MultiCube.
Which would be the prefer approach on this - 1 InfoCube or 3 InfoCubes?
Is it an issue of correctness or an Arhitect's choice of design?
Does the issue of how smart or intelligent the system know to report on which InfoCube come to play with the design of separating the data info 3 InfoCubes?

I would go for 3 cubes as it would be easy from maintenance point of view. Sometimes, you might need to add/change something for Billing, then you do not need to delete and reload entire data if you have different cubes.
While making queires specific to certain data, you can restrict the query to fetch data from that cube (e.g. Allocation), that way query performance would be faster as well.

It is the choice of design from ease, maintenance and performance point of view.

you can put a filter on an infoprovider (cube) in your query. You can also explore the topic efficient multiproviders.
