10.1.2.0.2 Resource proxying constructResourceURL without change

10.1.2.0.2 supports for the first time to tunnel resources like images from the provider directly thru the Portal.
Unfortunately we don't get it to work as expected. You can easyly reproduce using the JPDK samples. The lotto sample has allready implemented the feature:
IMG SRC="<%= UrlUtils.constructResourceURL(portletRequest, HttpPortletRendererUtil.absoluteLink(request, "images/ball" + picks[i] + ".gif")) %>" WIDTH="68" HEIGHT="76" ALIGN="BOTTOM" BORDER="0"
but when accessing the portal page the image links are still the old ones (http://<webapp_url>/jpdk/htdocs/lottery/images/ball1.gif) but should be something like http://<portal_url>/portal/...provider...resource=http://<webapp_url>/jpdk/htdocs/lottery/images/ball1.gif
Do you have a hint for us?
thanks

In order for the JPDK to generate links that use resource proxying, both the PPE (Portal) and JPDK must be configured with a shared key.
For the PPE, an init-param called resourceUrlKey must be defined.
For the JPDK, a JNDI environment variable with the same name (resourceUrlKey) must be defined.
The key must have the same value in both places.
Please see section 4.11 of the 10.1.4 Portal Configuration Guide for more information.
The JPDK will fall back to the old behaviour if either key has not been set -- which is what I think you are seeing in your case.
I hope that helps.

  • Need to set iTunes proxy setting without changing IE proxy info

I would like a way to edit the iTunes user preferences to use a different proxy for my iTunes on Windows client than I am required to use for my other Internet settings.
    Please advise, thanks,
    Greg

    Hello gbolcer,
iTunes uses the proxy server settings configured in Internet Options, which are the same settings Internet Explorer uses. Other browsers may use their own proxy settings, so you could try using a different browser, unless of course you are required to use IE.

  • What does Resource proxying exactly mean?

    Hi,
When a resource is eg behind a firewall you'll need to do resource proxying so all resources go through the ppe/portal instead of direct client - resource communication. So the client browser only communicates with the portal server and not with the server where the resources reside. Is this correct?
    So if I would use
    <IMG SRC="<%= UrlUtils.constructResourceURL(portletRequest, HttpPortletRendererUtil.absoluteLink(request, "images/winningnumbers.gif"))>
the image location for the client browser will be pointing to the portal server and not the actual server location where the images reside, because it is being proxied?
Is my thought about it correct? And it wouldn't matter if the resource is an image or a servlet?

I agree with Soul, when I worked in Apple Sales Support the "Prepared for Shipment" indicates that the order has been fulfilled. The box (with your computer) has moved from the warehouse into the shipping phase. Specifically where in the shipping phase is unknown. The "processing" indicates that the order has not yet been fulfilled but that the order has been received and queued for fulfillment.
Historically, the "processing" indicates that the order can still be cancelled or modified. The "prepared for shipment" is past the point of no return.
This was circa '09 when I was there, I suspect not THAT much has changed in 3 years for reporting purposes.

  • ALSB 3.0 - Form of URL to obtain Proxy Service WSDL changed?

A quick 'technical' question that seems too dumb to raise as a support call, but cant find any discussion or details in docs, release notes etc.
There might be some subtle default which has changed or I've done some thing different and I just can't find it - likely:).
QUESTION: Has the way in which the WSDL is requested from a (Proxy) Web Service changed.
    IN ALSB 2.6 and earlier:
    http://localhost:7501/service/EchoStringService?WSDL
    would return WSDL
    IN ALSB 3.0
the same (or similar form after recreating the above service in ALSB 3.0 ) returns:
    Error 405--Method Not Allowed
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.6 405 Method Not Allowed
The method specified in the Request-Line is not allowed for the resource identified by the Request-URI. The response MUST include an Allow header containing a list of valid methods for the requested resource.
    Any advice would be appreciated

Sorry, found the answer but forgot to update this thread.
The ?WSDL mechanism fails if Enforce WS-I Interoperability is true for the Proxy Service.
While BEA support (and the docs relating to this flag) say this is by design (Only POST not GET is supported by WS-I) personally it seems to me that this rule should apply to operation invocation not a metadata inquiry but there you go...

  • Modifying an "ssl-proxy-list" without disturbing the active sessions.

    Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to have two SSL modules installed in a CSS11503 with each one having it's own "ssl-proxy-list" ("ssl-proxy-list list1" and "ssl-proxy-list list2"), but the two lists (list1 and list2) are exactly the same.
    I will explain my idea:
In normal situation the two "ssl-proxy-list" are active and the user's encrypted sessions are load balanced between the two SSL modules. But when we need to make a change to the "ssl-proxy-list", like changing a server's certificate, I would like to be able to suspend one service (type ssl-accel with the "ssl-proxy-list List1" attached to it for example) and wait for all active sessions to terminate before suspending the "ssl-proxy-list list1" for applying the changes.
Once the first "ssl-proxy-list" is updated I would make it active again and apply the same changes to the second "ssl-proxy-list".
Doing this this way I would like to be able to upgrade the servers's certificate during the working houres without disturbing the connected users...
Do you think this way of doing would be possible, or do you have an other solution to modify a "ssl-proxy-list" without disturbing the active running sessions ?
    Thank you for your answer,
    Best regards

    Hi Francois,
An SSL proxy list may belong to multiple SSL services (one SSL proxy list per service), and an SSL service may belong to multiple content rules. You can apply the services to content rules that allow the CSS to direct SSL requests for content.
The CSS supports one active SSL service for each SSL module in the CSS, one SSL service per slot. You can configure more than one SSL service for a slot but only a single SSL service can be active at a time.
No modifications to an SSL proxy list are permitted on an active list. Suspend the list prior to making changes, and then reactivate the SSL proxy list once the changes are complete. Once you have modified the SSL proxy list, suspend the SSL service, reactivate the SSL proxy list, and then reactivate the SSL service.
You can use maximum 4 different certificates at a time.
Use the suspend command to suspend an active SSL proxy list.
To suspend an active SSL proxy list, enter:
    (config-ssl-proxy-list[ssl_list1])# suspend

  • System wide proxy settings without gnome and kde

    Hi,
    this is my software stack:
    linux
    X
    openbox
    chromium
my university had the great idea to cencor and filter the internet so that students can't do bad stuff and besides that can't do anything at all. They even block ping and ssh connections.. but that's another story.
here are my problems with that:
chomium devs seem to live in a very small world in which only kde and gnome exist, because these envirenments are the only way to let chromium know that it should use a proxy server.
I've written a small script that works perfectly for most of my stuff. here it is:
    $ cat ~/.proxyon
    export http_proxy='proxy.fh-brandenburg.de:3128'
    export https_proxy='proxy.fh-brandenburg.de:3128'
    export ftp_proxy='ftp-proxy.fh-brandenburg.de:21'
    export socks5_proxy='socks5-proxy.fh-brandenburg.de:1080'
    export HTTP_PROXY=http_proxy
    export HTTPS_PROXY=https_proxy
    export FTP_PROXY=ftp_proxy
    export SOCKS5_PROXY=socks5_proxy
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy autoconfig-url 'http://proxy.fh-brandenburg.de/proxy.pac'
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy mode 'manual'
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.http enabled true
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.http host 'proxy.fh-brandenburg.de'
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.http port 3128
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.https host 'proxy.fh-brandenburg.de'
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.https port 3128
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.ftp host 'ftp-proxy.fh-brandenburg.de'
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.ftp port 21
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.socks host 'socks5-proxy.fh-brandenburg.de'
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy.socks port 1080
    gsettings set org.gnome.system.proxy ignore-hosts "['localhost', '127.0.0.0/8', '*.fh-brandenburg.de' ]"
to start chromium i've made another script to test the proxy behavier:
    $ cat ~/start_chromium.sh
    source ~/.proxyon && echo $http_proxy && chromium
This should work because I set every proxy variable I'm aware of and the script spits out the correct proxy server but chromium still don't uses any proxies. Does anyone have a solution to this? I'm out of ideas..

delta24 wrote:Try creating a script in /etc/profile.d named proxy.sh having all the proxy config.
The behavier I want to achieve is that I can hot swap proxy and non proxy networks without restarting the browser. This works under gnome because chromium reads the proxy config from gconf which gets updated on network change but this doesn't work without gnome.
Most of the time I'm on networks without proxies. Only in university I need them. A simple switch to activate them when needed would be nice.

  • How to setup CSS as reverse proxy server without cache server

    Hi, question regarding CSS capabilities.
Is there a way to setup CSS (11000 series or 11500) to act as a reverse proxy server without caching server in place? Or is it possible for CSS to cache contents on its own?
And what is disk space on CSS used for?
    Thank you.

Thank you for clarification on disk usage on CSS. I have gone through sample config for reverse proxy caching
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/117/CSS_CEreverseproxy.html
Does this mean only way to have CSS to do reverse proxying is to have cache engine in conjunction with CSS?
    Thank you again in advance.

  • Remove/Change Proxy Settings Without Logging In

Is there a way to change the proxy settings without logging in?
Our proxy server went down and Spiceworks will not allow pro users to log in because of it.  I can't change the settings because I can't login.  Does anyone know of a way to change the settings another way?
We can't login on the server or via workstations.  This only affects pro users.
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

    HI Norm,
Open System Preferences/Network. Select Airport in the panel in the left then click the Advanced tab then click the Proxies tab. Where you see: Select a protocol to configure Make sure there are NO boxes checked.
Click the Airport tab in that same window. Make sure your network is listed under: Preferred Networks
If not, cick + Type in your network name or click Show Networks and select it from there. Your network should be listed in the Preferred Networks window now. Just below that window select the box next to: Remember networks this computer has joined.
If you still have problems, open Airport Utility (Applications/Utilities)
Select your device on the left then click Continue. In the next window click: I want to restore this AirPort device to its factory settings and then set it up again; then click Continue.
I'm on Comcast without using any Proxies.
You can disconnect the Comcast cable modem from it's power source for about 5 minutes then reconnect. Sometimes you have to recycle the modem.
    AirPort troubleshooting guide
Also, on the G5. Go to /Library/Preferences/System Configuration and move these files to the Trash.
    com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
    com.apple.nat.plist
    com.apple.network.identification.plist
You may only see the com.apple.airport.preferences.plist file in that list since it's running 10.5.x
Don't worry about the other .plist files if they are not available.

  • Resource Center - Need to change a Local Resource to an Enterprise Resource

The Resource Record for a resource was accidently deleted.  This resource was still assigned to active project tasks at the time of the delete.  A new Resource Record was created but it has the resource as a Local Resource.  How can I move
this resource back to the Enterprise Resource Pool?
As a Local Resource the Assignment Owner field on his assigned tasks are not populating, so he cannot see any tasks on his timesheets.  Also, the resource cannot be assigned to any new project tasks because he cannot be added to the Project Enterprise
    Pool.
Attempted to remove the Resource Record that was created using Delete Enterprise Objects -> Resources and Users but since the resource is Local and not Enterprise his record is not showing to select it for delete.
Would the Admin Restore->Enterprise Resource Pool and Calendars functionality put his original record back in place?  I understand only one version of this backup is kept but that should be the version we currently have.  What data might be
lost using this functionality?  Any chance other users would be adversely impacted?
We are using Project Pro 2010

    Hi Dennykat,
As mentionned in your previous post, restoring the resource pool should work, since it is restoring resources with their metadata and with the exact same UID. Thus the deleted and restored enterprise resource should have everything back (assignments, timesheets...).
Since I never tested such as process, I strongly advice to test it in the dev environment on a simple test case.
I remember that if also adviced you to recreate the enterprise resource and type in the resource sheet on one of the resource's project the exact enterprise resource name (exact same syntax), so Project should ask you when saving if you want to replace the
local resource by the enterprise one. Can you confirm that it didn't work?
    Hope this helps.

  • Editing low-res proxy, then applying changes to high-res

    Hello
I'm developing one continuous image for a large wall that will be seen from about 1-2 feet viewing distance. It has to be about 100 dpi.
My image is currently 21,600 x 8100 pixels at 8 bits CMYK. It may get bigger. I don't have to do much manipulation, but a lot of it is using brushes and the smudge tool.
    2 issues:
    1) I have a 12-core Mac Pro with 24GB RAM. The smudge tool is sloooooow when working on this image (like one smudge at max brush size takes 15-20 seconds to take effect).
    2) IS there a "warp mesh" tool that I can use in place of the smudge tool?
Is there a way for me to edit a lower-resolution version of this image, then apply the changes I made to the high-res version? then I can use the smudge and brush tools and finessé my work without the machine bogging down, and the imagery will look correct. I'm looking for a way to use these tools more in real time while working with this big image.

This appears to be the solution (at least, it is for me). I can apply my changes to the low-resolution proxy by saving the mesh and then applying that same mesh to the high-resolution image. The large brush sizes (in comparison to the image resolution)  that I am afforded in the low-res version are brought across to the high-res because the changes are not applied as brush strokes, but rather as alterations to an overall mesh. the changes to the mesh are what is transferred when I export and import.
Applying the mesh is pretty slow, and it requires a few tweaks at the high-res level, but it gets me 95% of the way there. I think this is workable.
To recap - here are the steps:
    1) I make a low-resolution version of the image (like 1200px wide)
    2) I make my edits to the image using Liquify
    3) before committing the Liquify changes, I "Save Mesh" in the Liquify tool
    4) I open my high-resolution image
    5) I use liquify, but I do not use any brushes, but in stead load my saved mesh from the low-res
    6) profit.
    thanks for the help folks!

  • How do I start firefox from the terminal, using a specific proxy configuration, without creating a whole new profile?

When I use Firefox at work I must use a proxy, however when at home I want to connect with no proxy. I'd like to have two launchers for Firefox, one for work and one for home. To do this I need to configure Firefox from the terminal.
After searching on the internet the only solution I could find was to launch Firefox with two different profiles, one for work using the proxy, and another for home. However if I do this, my bookmarks and saved passwords will not the same for both profiles.

Right click on the desktop and choose 'Create Launcher'. There enter the details so start the program directly not via a script. This did the trick for me for another program.

  • Multi message to Proxy ABAP without BPM possible?

    Hi Experts,
I am designing a scenario where my source is a flat file and the target SAP.
According to the content of the file, we would like to group the data per company and then send the grouped data.
The question is, is it possible to send data in a proxy per company? which means that we would have as many proxies as there are companies? without using BPM
    Thanks a lots,
    regards

Hi Now i have the same requirement. As you said group the data by company code in the internal table and handle it, does not feasible to my requirement.
I am doing material movements using proxies. Here for every loop i will call BAPI to do the material movements. Suppose there are 10 rows which are coming from XI and needs to do 10 material movements.
First 5 loops successfully processed, but some functional error comes while executing the 6th loop. My proxy will throw the exception comes out of the process.
By seeing the error record data in the exception, i have rectified the error. Now if i restart the proxy, the proxy will again try to execute from 1st row. But, first 5 th rows are already successfully processed.
This shouldn't be the case in real time. How can i overcome this?
If i get the proxy data row by row, then it would be more beneficial to me to handle.
How can we the message split possible using enhanced interface determination in the Proxies.
Could you post the solution, if anyone has?
    Thanking you,
    Regards,
    Krishnaraju.

  • Proxy-Service without a proxy-service.xml

    HI all,
I'm trying to use the BlazeDS proxy-service to proxy my Web Service calls through so I can avoid the security issues of directly speaking to a remote SOAP Service.
I am using Spring-Actionscript on the client now so I can externalize all of the server config into config files instead of code. I've been really frustrated at trying to do this for the SOAP Proxy-service. No matter what destination, channelset or remote url I set, the runtime insists on loading the destination channel information from the ServerConfig class.
Is there no way around this hardcoded implementation? I've thought of exposing the services-config.xml and me downloading the file as the first thing I do in my flex app, or of bypassing the proxy service altogether and use RemoteObjects for Flex - Remote communication and let the RemoteObject deal with talking to the Web Service.
Has anyone ever solved this problem? I'm wondering if Adobe will solve this in BlazeDS 4....
    Thanks for your help!!
    Ronak Patel

    Alex,
I've been able to do this for RemoteObjects based on what Spring-Actionscript allows me to do.
However from what I've seen in the stack trace from Flex...

It is not even checking the channelSet that the Service class maintains...the code is generated by Flex Builder 3 to go directly to the services-config.xml.
How can I break that dependency in the generated code?
I know Flex 4 does some other stuff for Web Services with the RDS Servlet. Would this be better suited for XML configuration?
