£152 per month bill despite three phone calls!

Hi. Late last year I took out Bt Infinity option 1, but after a week, upon realising that, mainly due to services like Netflix, I would be constantly breaching the download limit, decided to upgrade to Infinity Option 2 with no download restrictions. On phoning Bt I was assured that as this was an upgrade, there would be no cancellation costs etc, only the difference in monthly payments between Option 1 and Option 2.
However, when our next paper bill arrived, we were shocked to find that we were now paying £152 per month. On ringing Bt is was found that we had in fact been charged for the remainder of the contract of Infinity 1. This was acknowledged quickly as a mistake by Bt and promised to be resolved. The next bill arrived and again, it had not been resolved and we continued to pay that high amount. Same as before, we rang and again were promised a swift resolution.
Today, our next paper bill  has arrived, and we continue to pay £152 per month. I have just got off the phone with a customer services agent who says, again , we should be paying £40 per month and quite a hefty rebate. However, my faith in Bt taking such actions are quite limited, and I very much suspect we will be in the same position again, come our next bill.
I thought, and hoped, that by posting on here, that it might actually get resolved, instead of being fobbed off over the phone. I hope somebody can help. I will post all relevant details to any Bt agents who might be able to resolve this issue.

  • I just restored my iphone 3gs and lost 1 month of photos and phone calls

Help! I just restored my iphone 3gs and lost 1 month of work photos and contacts.  Please help me get them back!

How old was the backup? If you restored from a one-month-old backup, then yes, one month's data would be missing and cannot be restored unless you have a newer backup.

  • I was hotlined for no reason, it's been over 3 months, over 10 phone calls, and my account still has a "hotlined" indicator on it

This feedback includes more of my overall history, however I felt the need to share this recent experience of being hotlined, when it wasn't even my fault, the company admitted it, said they would take the "hotlined" indicator off of my account, and have failed to do so after several escalations:
I am sure my experience lately is nothing unlike anyone else’s experience. For the most part my experience with Verizon has been a bit of a roller coaster to say the least. When I first started my service almost five years ago, I ended up losing a phone number I’d had for about five years due to a technical mistake they made during the contract process and having to witch phones about four times. From there, I had billing trouble every month for the next 18 months. I had to call in for some kind of adjustment just about every month until I was due for an upgrade in December 2011. I upgraded to the Motorola Droid Razor, a choice I have regretted ever since.
So for the next 18 months I had well over 24 replacement phones for the Razor, until about August of 2013. I was offered by Verizon (via Motorola) to “upgrade” to the Razor M. It was a newer phone, only a bit smaller than the original Razor. I didn’t know it had 50% less internal memory than the original Razor, so I asked Verizon to send me the Razor in place of the Razor M, so that I could at least used the phone as I had intended. Not even a few days after I got the replacement Razor, it fell off my bed (less than 3 feet off the ground) and the screen shattered. Since I had not yet sent back the Razor M, I just re-activated it and called Verizon to let them know.
Okay, now let’s back track to October 2013. I had to replace another phone on my plan, a Motorola Droid Bionic, and we had ordered a new S.D. card for it. We got the replacement phone and S.D. card, I found out that the S.D. card was a kit that came with a card reader to plug into my computer, however it was also about $55. I sent the S.D. card back and the broken Bionic, and of course tracked both boxes. Verizon received both boxes within a few days, but only inventoried the phone. It took them almost 5 weeks to inventory the S.D. card. I had them charge the S.D. card to my bill, but since I had sent it back, I paid the bill less that amount, about $55.
So I had communicated with the financial services department about waiting for the $55 credit, in the event there was some kind of an issue. Even though I had talked to them right before the lines were all suspended, it was still suspended, and no one could explain why. I have called in since November 11, 2013 and I have talked to several people:
    November 29, 2013 – Joanne
    December 3rd 2013 – Ashley
    December 4th 2013 – Melanie
    December 6th 2013 – Maria
    January 24th 2014 – Michael
    February 7th 2014 – Elizabeth
    February 8th 2014 – Amanda
Since then I have talked to another few more people, all of whom have submitted an escalation to a manager to approve the suspension to be removed from my account. We have all heard the term “hotlined”, which is like a big ugly mark on a customer’s credit and it takes 6 months of on time payments to get it removed. However in my case, it wasn’t even my fault, the company admitted that they messed up and interrupted my service and although they promised over 7 times to get the account fixed, they have still not done it. I still paid the November and December 2013 bill, and the January and February 2014 bill in good faith. Although I have had a number of bills roll over from one month to the next during my 5 year term with Verizon, I have never been in a position where the lines were interrupted due to an error of my own.My service does work, and was turned on right away when I called on November 11th to find out why it wasn't working, that is how I found out about the hotline, talked to a manager and they said that due to it being Verizon's mistake, the hotline indicator should be removed by December 1st, it was not and still is not.
I have never asked for the company to reverse the mark on my account until now. How is it that Verizon and other companies like them can hold the threat of an early termination fee over the customer’s head, so that if the customer makes a mistake they are in fear of doing it again for fear of being interrupted or disconnected? However the phone companies aren’t held to a similar standard? If the wireless phone companies (whether holding a contract with a customer or not) are not held to a level of responsibility when they make a mistake, then why should the customer?
So it has been over 3 months since my account was hotlined and the mistake was made. I have continued to make my payment and even kept my service with them, despite the fact that my contract is over. Because of the hotline I cannot use the edge program to get a new phone and I cannot bill anything to my account until the hotline is removed. As I understand all it takes is a manager to sign off on some document and the hotline indicator is removed. If that is the case, why has it taken over 3 months, and over 8 phone calls and nothing has happened? I just talked to a representative this last weekend in the loyalty department and I have given the company an ultimatum – either get the mark off by the next bill, coming out March 2nd 2014, or I am done with the service.
I would rather have to purchase a phone outright from another company, and get on a prepaid plan than to bend to accepting the responsibility of the hotline on my service when it wasn’t my fault. I also cannot stand having to switch companies, but in a case like this, I would be a hypocrite if I didn’t.

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.
    Good Luck

I like your concern, not seen too often so well done.
Trouble is I don't believe there is anything that BT can do to help here. If it is a genuine old lady maybe talking to her might elicit some information about family who might be able to help.

  • What is the charge per month to add on another smart phone to your existing plan??

Want to add another smart phone to my plan, trying to find out how much extra my bill will be per month.  I would appreciate any input.

Hello fedup2003, How exciting that you're considering adding a new line of service with us!  I appreciate rcschnoor for being extremenly helpful in answering, as well. With our More Everything plans, adding a new smartphone to your account would result in an additional $40 per month so that phone could benefit from the Unlimited Call and Unlimited Text feature. Although changing your data allowance is optional, you'll want to consider increasing your current data allowance from 250mb to encompass the expected data use for your new smartphone line. Here's a link with the pricing for our More Everything plan data tiers http://vz.to/1ja4rAJ . When ready you can process the Add-a- line option here http://vz.to/1ja4rAJ : I hope this information was helpful in your decision making. Please let us know if you have further questions.

I want to subscribe for 120 mins and 90 rupees PER MONTH for calling to India but when I select this subscription the only options it gives me are 120 mins and 256.50 rupees for 3 months and 120 mins and 918 rupees for 12 months. I don't want to spend extra money for 3 or 12 months. I need it only for 1 month. Please don't tell me this is not an option. How can I fix this??

Its best to phone up and explain clearly what you want.
You will be calling the UK, but as we have such a diverse multiracial population you can still have trouble
To be honest I  have trouble when I ring most call centres, some do have some very broad regional accents.

  • Will upgrading my phone remove my 4GB per month data plan?

    Hello,
I'm currently on a month to month contract in a family plan which has 4GB for $30 per month. I was told by a Verizon rep in store that upgrading the phone and extending the contract by two years would force me to choose a new data plan... but when I review the purchase online, it doesn't seem to indicate that I will be losing this.
Will I lose my 4GB per month data if I upgrade my phone and get the two year contract?
Would upgrading another device on the family plan to the phone that I want, and then switching the new device over to the line that has the 4GB per month plan allow me to keep that data plan?
Sorry if this has been talked about already.  I've seen a lot of discussion about the unlimited data plan, but haven't seen anything about the 4GB per month plan.
    Thanks!

It sounds like you have a promo deal, double the data - there is no 4GB plan right now, there is 2 GB for $30.  If you do the upgrade in the (corporate, not an authorized reseller) store, and the rep is a good one, you MAY (emphasis on MAY) be able to keep the 4GB for $30. If it's an authorized reseller, you'll lose it since they can only choose from surrently available plans and options.
If you are seeing no change online, and you can keep your current plan, it sounds good.  I'd check my bill carefully though, as it was a promo deal and I don't know if the terms transfer to a new contract.

The advertised fee is now $9.99 per month for a single product.
Where are you seeing that? I still see Single App membership at US$19.99/month.
Creative Cloud free trial & plans : Adobe Creative Cloud
The only US$9.99/month offering is Photoshop+Lightroom.
So I guess you're asking to swap from the Photoshop Single App Plan to the Photography Plan (PS+LR)?

Most of the current Apple Intel based computers are comparable in CPU speed. I don't think it is so much the model of laptop as it is the memory, and storage capacity of the machine. If you are going to use FCP on a regular basis, perhaps as a professional or semi-professional, then you should think about the maximum memory and a very large capacity internal disk drive. For instance, one hour of finished compressed video will take up about 1.5 to 2Gbytes of disk space. If you add up the raw footage and still imagery and audio, you'll use up your disk drive capacity real quick. So a hard disk on the order of 750Gbytes @ 7200rpms might be good for video editing. 5400RPMs might be slow to rendering times. Rendering a video might take up a lot of memory so more memory is better e.g. 8Gbytes.
As a rule of thumb, once you get to about 80% of your disk drive or memory you'll see degradation of performance.
You can check out macsales.com. THey have a menu system that will allow you to pick and choose from various alternatives. BTW, it's been said that although Macs are typically spec'd at a certain memory size, macsales.com found that Apple computers will actually support higher memory levels. That is, if 4Gbytes are spec'd, some machines support 6Gbytes. macsales.com will provide the guidance for you.
You might also consider buying an external disk e.g. 500Gbytes to carry around with you for back-up or transport to another machine.

  • I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.

My phone doesn't have any cellular phone functions...but it CAN send text messages and access data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, the last two have this problem and the first stopped working all together. I've had new sim cards put in, ive done hard resets on the phone, i've rebooted the phone, done battery pulls, and tech support has reset the signal to my phone. Nothing has worked. (I just "upgraded" <- lol.... and my old phone IS turned off.)

Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down.
