3 Levels Search help

I am using jdev 11g(version 11.1.2.0.0).
I created a schedule object for a table with which has 3 level searching.first level is region, second level is country and third level is port.
the query for region is ...
select distinct pol_region from vw_schedule_ol
order by pol_region
the query for country is ...
select distinct pol_Country from vw_schedule_ol
where pol_region = nvl(:polregion, pol_region) or pol_region is null
order by pol_Country
the query for port is ...
select distinct pol from vw_schedule_ol
where pol_region = nvl(:polregion, pol_region)
and pol_Country = nvl(:polCountry, pol_Country)
order by pol
in the schedule search query i using these region,country,port as the List of values(LOV).and i use dependencies (in country dependencies is region),(in port dependencies is country and region)
the problem is when i choose region(Combobox) the query is working correctly.but it not render in country(Combobox)and alos port(Combobox).
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Or please someone advise me or give me some documentation.

Search help for Custom Item level field

Hi All,
I have two custom fields at Item level. Both of them has fixed values defined at domain. The fixed values have a short text also given with them.
The problem I am facing is when SRM provides default search help for these custom fields, for first field the 'Value' and 'Description' comes in the search result screen, but for second, only 'Value' comes in the search result.
When I try to debug, it shows the SHLPTYPE as 'SH' for first one and for the second as 'FV'.
What does this indicate?
My requirement is to display both value and description in the search result screen.
Please suggest.

Sorry for the delay. My User got locked for some time.
I have seen the document you sent me on my email id.
 I noticed in the case where the Search help is working fine, there is no space in between the contents of the Fixed values and their short text under the value range tab of the Domain element.
But in the case, where there is a problem with the search help. There both the Fixed values and their short description is having a space in between the words.
Try maintaining COND_A instead of "COND A". Also with the short description use "COND_A" instead of "COND A".
I hope this will resolve the issue.

Search Help Deep Level Accessibility

Hi Experts,
I have created a 3 search helps and all with an import paramters.
From first search help selection field, if I press F4 on some field(having search help attached), it calls second search help and
now on second search help I press F4 on some field(having search help attached) and it calls the third search help.
Now at third search help, import paramters also has further search help attached but this third search help neither shows any F4 button on a field with search help nor F4 pressing response anything.
Kindly suggest why at thrid level the selection paramters doesnot show search help even thought their data elements has it.

Search help is not showing list of objects available in ID

Hi Everybody,
I developed some business objects( Message Interfaces ) in Integration Repository and transported these objects from developement system to Quality system. After successful transportation i am able to see these objects in IR
(Quality system) also. While doing configuration in Integration Directory of Quality System, i need to assign this Messge Interface to one of Business service. We all know that we will assign this Message Interface by using search help at Receiver/Sender level in Business service. But here in the search help i am not able to see my Message interface which actually exists in Integration Repository.
I have tried out by clearing cache and make sure that the object is active, even then also i am not able see my message interface in search help.
So, please help me if any one gets this situation earlier and how to resolve this?

Did you check the cache notifications in IR?
Refresh Cache using browser..

When you go to SXI_CACHE in QA server . Click on Mappings on the left hand side and see if the mappings are available in cache.

How to get search help for 2nd parameter based on the 1st parameter value

Hi all!
 I have 2 parameters (material no, revision level). I have created a search help for revision level. It has an importing parameter :material no. and one exporting parameter : revision level.When I checked it, it's giving the revision values only for the specified.
In my report , I have kept these 2 materials in my selection screen.For revision level , I have added the matchcode object which I have created. When I pressed F4 for revision level, it's giving all the values irrespective of the material no. in the first parameter. How to solve it? Please suggest.

Search help of material is not working in ECC 6.0 : Urgent

Hi Friends,
I am using ECC 6.0. I have a problem in search help of material by plant. In the search help of material (choosing the tab plant material by descriptions), if i give any plant which is 3 chars long (exp. ABC) it is giving correct combination of plant material. But if i am giving a plant which is 4 chars long (exp ABCD) it firing a message saying no values found, although the combination exist. (if i am giving only material name it is showing both 3 chars and 4 chars long plant).
for ref: please use transaction MD04 and press f4 in material field and choose tab "plant material by descriptions", and give 3 chars and 4 chars long plant.
please help me to trace the problem or any OSS note.
correct answer will be awarded.
I will appreciate to not giving code of search helps because it is a standard SAP functionality that is not working.

Please check your SAPGui frontend i think you are using 7.10 patch level 3.? if not try with some other system that have 7.10 patch level 3.

Search Help Error while Publishing Query in Explorer

Hi All,
We have upgraded BW from version 3.1 to BI 7.0. SP level is 15. When we publish query in Explorer, selection screen appears, we get error in selecting variable(Fiscal Year/Period) entries from search help. After selecting a value from a list of possible entries, the format is changed on the screen.
For example:
If we select 002.2002 for variable FiscalYear/Period, we get
002 02 i.e. it is truncating 20 from 2002.
Now, we have to manually enter the values.
While executing query in BEx analyser, no such error occurs.
What will be the solution?

About Running Remote Search Helps in SRM via Webdynpro ABAP

Hi there,
I am having troubles trying to implement an input help for a custom field in the standard Shopping Cart Portal page for item level.
I would like to implement the same input help used in field Network of Activities, but as I can see in WDA component '/SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC', it seems to use another component in order to run a remote Search Help (I assume it is an original search help from PS system).
Does anybody know how to use this backend search help WDA Component? (/SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH)
I haven´t found any information regarding that :S.
Another option would be to create a new RFC FM in PS returning the expected values, and use these entries to build a list value selector associated to the corresponding context attribute (This is not what I would like...)

Figured it out.
/SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH is a 'freely programmed' search help used in SRM.
1. Add this helpview (HV) component usage to your component controller, and view controller.
2. Map HV SELECTION context to your view
3. Modify the context attribute you want backend searchhelp to 'freely programmed', and select the component usage created in step above (note this is done dynamically in SAP code, b/c attribute is defined as dictionary search help in SAP components) -- this took a bit to figure out.
4. IMPORTANT: Give your context attributes the SAME NAME (COST_CTR in my case) as those in structure /SAPSRM/S_CH_WD_MAP_ACC (how obvious was that)
5. IMPORTANT: Set your LOGSYS in /SAPSRM/CL_PDO_VALHELP_FACTORY class - love those those factories (tic)

How simple was that? Yikes. I should have just built a custom dictionary search help to RFC over and call the BAPI for Cost Center List.

In VA01 tcode in item level if user press f4 in the material code then we will get all the f4 helps for few fields.Now i need to add one more field mtart from mara table in the existing search help of material code.

Search Help for Position in Custom infotype

Dear All,
I had created one Custom Infotype in which one field is Position which is same as position in Infotype 0001. The search help should be same. How can i achieve this? Here i had attached search help in PS structure of the custom infotype but it soesnt look similar. Please provide me guidance.

Hi,
there is no search help maintained in data elament level in that info type, but there is explicitly mainatained as H_T528B in ENTRY HELP tab in the table . so try to mainatain as is in the standard infotype.

Enhancing F4 Search Help Issue - Standard Component

Hello All,
We have a requirement in SRM to customize couple of standard Search helps attached to the Webdynpro components. As such I know the concept of how we can handle this requirement but hitting an issue.
Standard Working scenario -
1) Standard Structure available with multiple fields. Two fields that are of our interest are SH_VALUE and SH_VALUE_LABEL.
2) Standard Search help for this being used has fields VALUE and VALUE_LABEL.
3) In the Structure the both the fields SH_VALUE and SH_VALUE_LABEL are mapped to the Search help VALUE and VALUE_LABEL.
4) In the WD component the node is mapped to the standard structure.
Running the application and the picking up the values from F4 on the SH_VALUE field will return its corresponding value and also map the SH_VALUE_LABEL field with the Label from the F4 since the structure and Search help mapping are there.
So far good when its standard.
Issue I am facing -
We need to modify this standard search help to customize our needs.
1) Did a Copy of the standard Search help and then modified to suit our needs. The output structure of the search is still the same as the standard one.
2) Did a Post Exit in the WD component to call our custom search help through the below code -
data lo_nd_attrib type ref to if_wd_context_node.
data lo_nd_attrib_info type ref to if_wd_context_node_info.
lo_nd_attrib = wd_context->path_get_node( path = `ATTRIBUTES_DATA.ATTR_DTLS_MULT` ).

lo_nd_attrib_info->set_attribute_value_help( name = 'SH_VALUE' value_help_mode = '121' value_help = 'Z_ORG_ATTR' ).
lo_nd_attrib_info->set_attribute_value_help( name = 'SH_VALUE_LABEL' value_help_mode = '121' value_help = 'Z_ORG_ATTR' ).
Running the application just returns the SH_VALUE field but does not get the data for the SH_VALUE_LABEL.
Is there something wrong in the way I am calling the Custom Search help or should I need to approach this differently?

Hi Nagarajan,
Well, you are trying to set the search help to both attributes ( sh_value, sh_value_label) individually and it is having no link between these two attributes
i.e. once you select a value from search help of SH_VALUE, its no where linked that the other details to be passed to SH_VALUE_LABEL.
We generally, do the linking of attributes to search help parameters at structure level as below
So, if you need the same behaviour, then you need to assign the Zsearch help at strucuture field SH_VALUE and link the parameters to both fields SH_VALUE & SH_VALUE_LABEL
In case, if find it not possible to to this way,
You need to populate the value of field SH_VALUE_LABEL upon selection of value from search help of SH_VALUE.
i.e. by registering the search help selection event to an OnEnter action and write the logic to populate the value to SH_VALUE_LABEL

To get f4 search help in Abap Web dynpro

Hi web Dynpro Experts,
i want to achieve XK03 Tcode payment mode search help functionality in abap webdynpro,in clearly When i press f4 i payment mode input field a view should open with different payment modes like
a.ebanking payment method,
b.ebanking treasury pay method,
c.cheque ..etc..with check boxes when i select a and b methods types it should concatinate and shown as ab in payment methods field.
I checked for this there is no predefined search helpin data element level(dzwels),and domain level,i hope it is provided by programming.
if i want to achieve f4 search help through free programming?how to do that?
how to re use the same screen design which is in XK03?
please guide me to come out of this issue

Values in Search Help

When I try to search the possible values in the drop-down for a field in Infotype 001 (Pers Area), I get a message that says "No values exist". In all the other fields the drop-downs contain the list of possible entries.
It is only in this one field and only for one person. Other users do get the correct drop-down, and this person gets drop-downs on the other fields such as Pers Subarea, Cost Centre, etc. Nothing changed wrt his authorization or wrt to the list of Pers Areas. The same applies to other Infotypes and reports - just the field Pers Area returns the message of "No values exist" at the bottom of the screen
It is possible that a personal list was created in this search help, but now no values are returned and there is no way to get back to the original list.

I think you might have authorization issue, if you dont have authorization for for PA then this can be happen.
you can use T-code /NSU53 when you in the particular screen then system will give you what authorization object or level your missing. if you sent the screen shot to basis consultant they can find the issue
or else you can switch on trance for your user ID using T-code ST01 which will give you a log report saying what all authorization your missing while executing that search transacetion or actvities.
Ask help from basis consultant.

Value Transport (Exporting) to multiple screen fields in Search Help

Hi all,
I have created elementary search help using exit and attached it to data element. After F4 when I get hitlist I want all the values from the selected rows to get copied to the screen fields. I.e. I want the value transport.
In the search help I am exporting those values which I want to get copied back but I am unable to get the result.

Hi,
You can get this behaviour only by making the SEARCH HELP assignment at the STRUCTURE level.
You need to create or use an existing structure to create your screen fields which you want to populate using the search help. Then assign this search help directly to the structure and there do the mapping between structure fields and the search help export params.
Only by doing this you can autopopulate the values using one search help.
