3230 not recognising car kit (CK-10)
I am having real problems with this 3230, I replaced my old Carkit 91, with a CK-10 as advised by Nokia support. Yet the phone does not act as if its in a hands free kit.
When placed in the cradle, the keypad remains locked, it does not auto answer (as set in Enhancements Handsfree, in fact when going into the enhancements option its currently connected to "headset" despite a headset never being connected.
Also the screen dims after a few seconds, However, the display shows the phone is charging through the cradle & I can receive & make calls through the remote mike & Speaker.
Really weird - anyone have any simialr problems?
BTW the firmware was flashed lastweek.

Then I presume from your last post that you are connecting the CK-7W via a CA-27? vi the units POP Port.
I must stress at this point that there are two cables that will fit the CK-7W but the other cable will not work.

I have a CK-7W car kit which I have been successfully using until recently with a 6230i. Last week my phone was upgraded to a 6680 and was supplied through work with the CR-27 cradle. However, when this is connected to the existing cradle connector, I get the message 'enhancement not supported' on the phone.

I have now tried the CK-7W with my wife's Nokia 6100, just using the pop-port cable and it has similar problems;
1. It thinks it is connected to a headset, not a car kit.
2. The radio stays on "phone" mode.
I didn't actually try making a call on it, but it seems odd that the problems are similar with another phone.
With my 6680 and the CK-7W, the phone works fine via bluetooth, but again, thinks it is connected to a headset, not a car kit.
When I connect through the pop-port cradle (CR-27) the radio stays on "phone" mode and the phone thinks it is connected to a headset. If I try to make a call, the sound is terrible, with loads of echo and feedback.
Also, while I can "see" my HDW-2, I am unable to actually pair with it.
What do I do?
I have bought the genuine Nokia accessories, and this phone seems unable to work with them. Plus the CK-7W seem unable to connect to either my 6680 or 6100 via pop-port.
What can be the problem?
I am really annoyed with what is supposed to be a high quality product.

I have just purchased a car and it has a nokia 6210 hands free kit fited into the car. It works as I have hecked it with a friends mobile phone, however, will this kit work with any other nokia mobile phones?
Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksIf it is a genuine Nokia cark-91 then you can buy a ca-55 converter lead & a new cradle, however there are lots grey areas to wether or not you car kit will work with the new phone that you get. My advice would be to invest in a new car kit, it wont cost you much more and you will be able to guarantee compatability & hopefully it will serve you for future phones but dont hold your breath.

I have a Tomtom car kit which I've been happily using for a few months now. At Christmas I got a new car stereo that has an aux input which is great, as I can now play tunes from my iPhone through the car stereo. However, I can only hear calls through the stereo if I plug the aux cable into the phone itself, not the car kit.
Is this right, or am I missing something? It's slightly annoying, as I can't simply plug the phone into the cradle when I get into the car....I have to plug the aux cable in too.

EdYou are absolutely correct, BUT I have done that at least three time and when I switch on the ignition the **** thing keeps coming up and I have to decline it. I may have to physically remove or disconnect the old bluetooth hands-free system.

i bought a used car. i want to adapt the old car kit for a 6680 without going under the dash (hopefully)
holder type is MBC 15S
main body is ATT 155
i believe i must purchase a CR-27 holder for the 6680

I have just replaced mt 6230 with a 6700 classic. My car has a car kit for the 6230 and I was wondering if I can somehow adapt that kit for the 6700. I would rather not rip it all out and start again with a new kit.
I do not know what model kit I have but the cradle says CR-56 and is connected by a plug. Ideally I would like to buy a new cradle that will work with the 6700 and plug that in instead. Is that possible?
Thanks for any help.Modern Nokia phones with Mini-USB or Micro-USB connectivity instead of the old 'pop-port' do not have cable connectivity with car kits, only Bluetooth connectivity, so you will not be able to connect the same way you did with the 6230.
You do not say which car kit you have (the cradle is specific to the phone, not the car kit, so its part number doesn't help), but if it is Bluetooth-enabled it may work with the 6700, otherwise you might not have a choice but to replace the kit. -
My new iPhone 4s will not recognise my TomTom car kit, so I cannot use any of my 3 TomTom apps, nor does it give me handsfree as before. It will not pair, although I have held in the reset button until it beeps, then entered my PIN when instructed. It also sometimes gives the message that this device is not supported by iPhone (although I have been using it for several years) with my UK and Ireland, Western Europe, and USA and Canada apps. Just replaced my 4 with a 4S rather than a 5, which won't fit the mounting kit.
From their web site Tom Tom actually offered a converter kit at one point however all it was a 3mm thick bit of plastic with a self adhesive tape backing!

Audi car kit- phone will not recognise!
I have just recieved an Audi A3 with manufacturer car kit installed. The delivery driver could connect with his phone, don't know what type.
When I tried my 6301- nothing.
Bluetooth was on.
Ignition was on, and off and on again!

I have an ipod shuffle - 3rd generation. Can you use these in cars? My car is a Hyundai i20 2o11 model and it has a usb connection. I connected my shuffle today but the car would not recognise it. Do I have to have a different type of ipod, eg nano or something?

I have the following problem :
I have in my Car a Nokia CK-7W Car-Kit. The phone i use is a Nokia N73 with the latest software 4.0736.3.2.1.
the only connection i use is the bluetooth i dont use the cable connection.
Verry often when i am calling someone the connection is suddenly not good anymore. there is suddenly a lot of noise so the person on the other side is just hearing noise and could not understand me anymore.
Calling again will not solve the problem they cant understand what i am saying.
The only solution is to turn the ignition key to 0 so the car-kit is turned off and then restart again.
Also has to power off the N73 and back on --> problem solved for a while.
I have tried with my older Phone Nokia 6280 there the problem is not the same. Sometimes it is also not good but not the same as with the N73.
With the 6280 i have also a different problem that it is not posible to disconnect the line when calling. so when i push the CK-7W button for a disconnect the line keeps open the only option is the read key on the phone.
So i dont know exacly what is defective , is it the car-kit or are both the phones not good.
Does anyone has the same problem.
Someone told me that it is because i have one of the first CD-7W car-kits so they have software that is to old. I dont think that it is normal that there are so much problems. They have told me that i have one of the first versions because my paing key is not 0000 but a nr in my case 1819.
When the CK-7W Module is defective , does anyone know if it is possibe that i just buy a Module without the other accessories.

I can ubderstand if yo have installed more than 100 CK-7W that you are sure that the passcode must be 0000.
I am 100% sure that on my original box there is CK-7W and on the manual the passcode is 1819.
I have also a POP connector + cable (wich is not installed ) to connect the phone with cable. Has the CK-1W also this possibility ?
What i dont can see is the correct nr ont the main unit because it is stiil someware behind the dashboard.
The only think i can think of is that i have received a ck-1W like you told but is was in a CK-7W box. The manual deliverd was also CK-7W but the passcode was on a label that was put on the manual so they have the possibility to make a misttake.
I dont think that after +- 3 year i can go to Nokia an ask them for the correct one ?
So someone had made a mistake , maybe at Nokia or maybe in the shop. Why i dont know . the only thing i know is that i have a lot of problemens with this stupid thing.
If you have installed 100's of the CK-7W can you advice me if the stupid thing is working fine or that i be better of to buy another one ?
I only need a goed stable working Car-Kit not with display,....

I WAS USING I PHONE4 AND MY CAR KIT WAS WORKING PERFECT WITH IT VIA BLUETOOTH(RENAULT GRAND SCENIC 2011) BUT I BOUGHT THE NEW 4S AND EVENTHOUGH I CAN BE CONNECTED TO MY CAR KIT BY BLUETOOTH I CAN NOT HEAR IT ON MY CAR STREO.CAN ANYBODY HELP ME

If you have not yet done so unpair the car kit from the phone, or better yet reset it completely, Forget the car kit in the iPhone, and pair it anew. -
6280 not working on holder CR-43 with car kit CK-7...
I had a car kit/holder combination installed Sept 2006, been working fine.
Last couple of days when I insert the 6280 into the holder the "PHONE" text displays on the stereo like normal but the "HANDSFREE" settings on the phone don't kick in.
The CHARGE function continues to work but the "PHONE" word/display never dissapears and the radio/stereo function never returns.
The phone does not operate correctly, it remains on what ever profile is active and the phone only works on its internal speaker, losing connection with the car speakers.
Anyone know if this is the handset? car kit? holder? all of the above?

TimJust for the record, I managed to isolate the problem today to a fault with the CR 43 holder.
I plugged the car kit lead directly into the phone handset and found that the car kit functions returned to normal, charging and sound through car speakers and interpution of stereo functions when making and receiving calls.

The TomTom car kit isn't made for, and doesn't officially support, the iPhone 4. As the iP4 is thinner than the iP3, the phone doesn't 'push' back onto the flap in the mount enough for the dock connector to fully engage into the iP4. You can 'fix' this by putting a small piece of fabric/paper/neoprene/whatever behind the phone, which will then push the flap sufficiently to engage the connector.
I've been doing this for ages without any problems, and the bluetooth connection between phone & car kit works fine.
