Hi-I'm looking at a project that has 326 images in it, but the viewing/browsing pane is blank. I get can't get it to show any of those photos when i highlight the project. Other projects display photos, and the photos in this "blank" project do display in the viewing pane when I click "All Projects" or "All Photos." Mysterious!
Apologies if this has come up before, I couldn't find it in a search. Thanks!

Why is Gmail SMTP server working for only one of two accounts?

iPhone 4S, with all updates.
I have two gmail accounts, primary and secondary. I have both accounts set to use smtp.gmail.com, with password authentication for each account.
Primary account can send just fine using SMTP. Secondary account cannot send through it's "own" server (i.e., [email protected]) and sent messages failover to the primary account server ([email protected]). Of course, that means recipients see the email as coming from the primary account, which is totally contrary to the reason I have it.
Settings for smtp are identical, except for username and password. I can send using the secondary account in Mail on my Mac, using that server, with messages showing properly (i.e. from [email protected]).
Any ideas what's going on?

On the iPhone that can't send or receive iMessages, make sure iMessage is On in Settings > Message.

If you still can't send or receive iMessages
To send and receive iMessages, your device must have a valid cellular or Wi-Fi data connection.

Ensure that iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages.
iMessage registration validates your Apple ID for use with iMessage. If you are unable to activate iMessage, follow this article.

To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more about troubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. An external hyperlink should handoff to Safari and leave iBooks.
If that's not happening, perhaps there is something misconfigured on your iPad? Have you manually confirmed those links work in Safari on your iPad?

Why do my emailattachments open as only one page in Preview? Multiple page attachments only will print as 1 page with very small print?

It's a Finder feature, related to Quick Look. You can hit the space bar in the file list to get a preview.
If that doesn't work, you may have an issue witha preference file or similar. I find rebuilding the launch databse works quite well resilving tis kind of thing, as does trashing Finder preferences

I had only made a few in the past but I remember well that the footages appeared as several clips on the pane window.On this occasion I have but only one clip, despite the fact i wasnt running the camera constantly and took several bits of film footage.Rather confused by it

Nope, but that's how Disney wants it. Probably they think they make more money getting you to buy a physical copy rather than the digital download. Since it was just released, they figure people will want to buy it right away and will be willing to pay the higher price.

Change view options for only one window

Usually I prefer to view my windows as icons, but I like certain specific windows to show up in list mode. On 10.4, in the View Options, there was an option for "This window only" but that seems to be missing in 10.5. Am I just blind???

I agree. i enjoyed that feature in 10.4. It drives me nuts that if I want to change the view options for one folder because of the way I want to view its specific contents, the rest of folders on my system changes at the same time. I would appreciate it if each folder had a "memory" of its own view option settings.
However, I acknowledge that sometimes you would want to change a setting that affect all windows. But it shouldn't overwrite the remainder of the settings. If, for example, you wanted to change the text size of every icon in every window, but leave everything else as set in each individual folder, there should be an option for this!

Why is my backlight display lit for only 5 seconds while making a call (Brightside phone)

When I go to settings, I see that it is set for 2 minutes and indeed it does stay lit for that amount of time if I am not making a call, but as soon as I dial a phone number and especially when I get into an automated menu system where I need to press 1 to get to a different menu and then other numbers to finally get to talk to someone, the display goes black. I have tried swiping the screen which does not help. The only thing that I can do is press the curly arrow that points to the left to have the display light come back on for another 4 seconds, then press the button called keypad and hurry and press a number to continue with the menu system.
I talked with Verizon and was told can do a complete reset, but I don't want to lose my contacts. I went to backup assistant online but keep getting the arrows that go around and around forever and won't let me see if they are backed up. I want to view my contacts online and I want to print them. What's wrong with that site?
I will say this. Do not buy the Brightside phone. It is not a smart phone. It's a touch phone and when you touch anything, things come on like the camera or makes calls to my favorite contacts. sheesh! I can't wait until our contract with Verizon is over with.

I just bought the phone yesterday and have noticed the same issue. The verizon guy i just spoke to said that needed to be fixed, so he transferred me to Samsung tech support. I'm waiting for them to pick up . . .
Okay, spoke to a very nice person who concluded that this was not an option that could be adjusted. The light apparently stays on for about 6 secs.
I was hoping it could be changed, so that's disappointing, but the reason it goes dark makes a lot of sense: it keeps you from hitting buttons accidentally while you're on the phone, so you can hold the phone in your hand, to your ear, etc. without worrying about activating something unintentionally. Also saves battery.

PLEeeeeASE help!! Why oh why is connection timing out for only one podcast?

Hi.
Previously I have had no worries downloading podcasts, but now suddenly have trouble with Nova 100's Hughesy and Kate.

When I try to download it, it comes up with an exclamation point saying "network connection timed out".
Other podcasts seem to be working fine, even bigger files.
Have tried deleting it from iTunes and then re-subscribing, both through the itunes store and through the advanced tab with the url. Still no luck.
Someone else had tried downloading from their computer, so URL must be working elsewhere. Have also tried disabling firewall.
Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening pleeeease?!?!

I never figured out why the java.net code wasn't posting, but I've gotten it to work with the Apache Commons HttpClient. Funny since in another place we use that same java.net code to post XML to another site. I wish Sun would stop playing with their servers so much and focus on Java even more. ;)

Lion iCal: How to view many calendars, but reminders for only one

I'm in an all MAC office setting. I havea MacBook Pro 15 with Lion OS. I get pop up reminders for the seven colleagues whose calendars I have selected. I only want pop up reminders for my own calendar, but don't see any way to make that happen. Opening the "REMINDERS" drop down box at the top of the right hand sidebar removes calendar entries from view (not what I want) and has the same functionality as the "Calendars" button at the top left of the iCal window. Any recommendations would be deeply appreciated.

What exactly is the "Location" calendar? Is it an actual .ics calendar? Or is it a list of locations in directory? If it's not actually a calendar, then it won't show up in the Calendar application. If you want to connect to your LDAP server, you can do that, and it will show up in Address Book, but I don't think locations will be seen. I have not confirmed this though.

Shortcut for viewing the CMYK channel while only one or more of the color channels are selected?

I cannot believe I forgot this shortcut! I use it ALL the time.
When you have just one (or more) RGB or CMYK channels selected, and want to view the RGB or CMYK composite channel as you work with the individual channels, what is the keyboard shortcut for this?
(The problem is that it became so automatic because I use it so often and this morning when I was in Photoshop, I actually tried to think about this shortcut and found that I had forgotten it!! (Maybe I seriously need to eat more carrots!) I hadn't used it in the last few days, so that is a good excuse on my part, I hope .)

Why are applets restricted to connecting to only one host?

I'd like someone to help me out with an explanation of why Java applets are restricted to connecting to (opening up Socket objects to, etc.) only the host from which the applet was downloaded. Why would allowing the applet to connect to arbitrary hosts be dangerous? The very point of applets is to run things from untrusted servers, using the security limitations Java places on applets for protection, right?

Why is print in grey and PDF not a saving option for only one of my photoshop files? All other files I open are fine. Please help!

I am trying to turn a photoshop document in to a pdf. Print is in grey and under Save As PDF is not an option. Any other PS document I open allows me both options. What is wrong with this document?!
What I have tried and was unsuccessful:
I changed it to illustrator and saved as PDF but the colors were very dark.
I have renamed it and opened again.
I duplicated the layers to another doc.
Closed PS and opened it again.
Please help. Thanks!
