if my source system is 46c-> upgraded to ECC 6 Non Unicode-> Unicode export done-> now i have a ABAP export .... , now i install a target system with Ecc 6.0 Unicode and import the ABAP export....but how can i have the Java component in the target?
That is , how can i have a target Ecc6.0 abap+java?

As Ronald said you need new install of Java on ECC6.
For ECC6 you need Java Engine 700 and R/3 4.6 run Java Engine 620.
You need to run the Installation of JAVA Add-in for ECC6.

I have a doubt about the process of support package (stack) download. I don´t want downloading from maintenance optimizer, I´m doing this process directly from Sap Marketplace, in first step (1 of 3) I have to select the target stack (which is the stack level that I intend to make an update) and the source target (which is the actually stack level of my system)... Ok I choose them with no problem, the situation and my doubt is below that where I have a check list of "Usage Selection" (image). How can I know which one I must choose for my system... I don´t understand what is that, for instance "Strategic Enterprise Mgmt" ; E-"Recruting" or "EP Core"!!!... etc...
So how can I know which of these components I need to check to downloading for my system, how can I know that?

System Crash during ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0) SR2 ABAP+JAVA installation

Hi all,
I am fairly new to this fascinating world of SAP BASIS and recently got hit by an issue which I faced during an ERP 2005 SR2 (ECC 6.0) ABAP+JAVA installation.
My Installation Particulars:
1. OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit)
2. DB: Oracle 10.2.0.2
3. RAM: 2 GB
4. Installation type: LOCAL and CENTRAL SYSTEM INSTALLATION.
I have tried the installation thrice and each time the IMPORT ABAP step (phase 18) comes, 3 parallel IMPORT JOBS runs and after few of them completes the system restarts or crashes abruptly. So as a matter of fact, the R3LOAD which were running had to stop without getting completed, so whenever I start from old installation, the INSTALLATION MASTER throws error and I had to start a new installation. then again, during this phase the system/server/computer crashes.
The minimum RAM requirement for this ERP installation is 3 GB, so probably 2 GB is not being able to cope up the pressure of the R3LOAD jobs...well, i am not sure of that!
During the parameter specification, at the DATABASE EXPORT screen I have specified 3 parallel jobs. Well, the question which I have are as follows:
1. Will I reduce the number of PARALLEL JOBS to 1 or 2, without going with the default value of 3, in order to avoid these crashes?
2. Can I still install the SAP with 2 GB RAM?

Well, as far as the OS is concerned, this version (ERP 2005 SR2), is compatible on 32-bit OS also. I am confirmed because I have done this installation on different machines also, prior to this installation, where my OS was 32 bit, but RAM was 4 GB. That is why, I am presuming this to be a hardware issue.
By CRASH, I mean during that step the computer shuts down abruptly by itself.
Well, I am starting the installation again, by specifying only 1 parallel job. Let's see if it works or not! If it doesn't then I will have to increase the RAM surely.
Anyways, if you have anymore informations to share regarding this issue please feel free. I will soon post the UPDATE on this thread.

ABAP +JAVA system copy process

We are in process of building a server from a existing ECC 6.0 ABAP + JAVA system.
We are using system copy process where we are restoring ABAP databse from source system.
My question is about the JAVA part.
How can we copy java part? Can we export only JAVA part from ECC 6.0 ABAP +JAVA system and import this to target server.
Please suugest the process.

Hi Manoj,
When you are doing restore of your P(DUAL stack)system then it will automatically restores your ABAP and JAVA scehema table spaces(Normal usage).And If you are using sapinst then take a CI export(for file system/java settings etc) of your source system and then you have to import that in your target system later in the process.So this procedure will automatially serve for both ABAP and JAVA schemas. Importantly this procedue was highly recommended by SAP,so if you run into any issues then you can go ahead and raise a OSS msg.

But you can do your java export from command level also(with out using SAPINST) and later you can import it into your target system.This means you are exporting your JAVA schema table space and importing.Keep it in mind that you have to export your Target java scehema not source system .If you do so then its of no use because you have to perform all post steps for java stack also. You can export and import table j2ee table space from your OS level at DB host using "exp javascehma/pwd ........."(not a full fledged command) and then you do the same by perforing "imp........." after restore and recovery from your P(source) system.But this is not at all recommended by SAP but this will work!.
Let every one to know if you need anything more than this.

We need to reinstall the JAVA part alone in ABAP+JAVA

Dear Sir/Madam,
We have an SAP ECC 6.0 system with ABAP+JAVA components. Now there are some issue with our Java comp. and I'm unable to start the JAVA engine. As we have done little configuration on JAVA side we are planning to reinstall the JAVA part alone.
1)Can we uninstall the the JAVA Component alone from the ABAP+JAVA Central instance?(Without affecting the ABAP Part)
2)Can we install a new JAVA addin in our existing ABAP+JAVA system?
3)If yes; is there any special steps appart from the master guide "4.4.2 Installing the Java Add-In for an Existing ABAP System" ?

We have done a Homogeneous system copy from our DEV system to QA system(SAP ECC 6.0 ABAP+JAVA with Oracle 10g)
Our issue is we are unable to connect the VA it shows "Unable to lookup connection default".
We've noticed that the Instance ID in our config tool still shows the DEV Instance ID and the Instance.properties files shows the QA system instance ID.
In our DEV it's given

SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 installation with ABAP+JAVA stack

Hi,
I need to install SAP ECC6.0 EHP4 with ABAP+JAVA stack on windiws server 2008 with oracle.
I have read that for this, we need to install ECC 6.0 EHP4 ready and then upgrade to EHP4 using ehpi installer.
I have found the documents seperately for ABAP and JAVA stack and not for ABAP+JAVA.
I need clarifications on these.
1.Do we need to install ABAP and JAVA instances seperately with EHP4 and then upgrade(In that case I have to install both instances on single host)?
2.Should we give seperate <SID> for both instances and create seperate databases?
3.Hard disk requirement for this set up.(We have 150 GB including C drive)
4.Steps to perform after installing ECC6.0 EHP4 ready
5.Please send me the doc. if anyone has

LSO CP installed on a non Enterprise Portal or ECC (ABAP+JAVA) server

Has anyone installed the LSO CP on anything besides SAP Enterprise Portal or ECC (ABAP +JAVA)? If so what are the requirements for determining an approprate server for installation. How was this deployed without the use of the JAVA deployment tool? What issues if any did you encounter when performing this installation and deployment?

Problems in Dialog instance installation for ECC6.0(ABAP+JAVA)

Does anyone can help me what should be a procedure of installing Dialog instance for ECC 6.0 with both ABAP + Java Stacks.
When installing app server do we also choose ABAP and Java or just ABAP. Installation manual does not cover this and when we run the sapinst we have following problem:
The following are the activities that I have done as pre-reqs on the standby on the server that is to host dialog instance

Am I missing some pre-reqs or variable definitions?
I was going through the documentation and it says that /sapmnt/DSP/exe should be a local filesystem for a DI on a separate server. Will this create a problem ?
Also they talk about starting sapinst with the variable SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME set to ddrsap02. I have tried this also
We are also not 100% sure about the settings for parameters:

rdisp/mssserv_internal
Accorss Devault Instance and Services Instance profile.
When we define it as per installation GUIDE (Abap+Java page 64) we get the popup message in SAPINST:

SSO within an ABAP+JAVA on the same host

Experts:
We have a dual stack (ABAP+JAVA) NW04s on the same host.
The usage type EP7 is enabled.
From this EP7 we want to access its own ITS thru SSO.
We configured the SSO just like we did for the EP7 + ECC on 2 different hosts.
However, we are always asked for an ID/password when trying to test the SSO from the EP7.
The error is:
"SSO logon not possible; browser logon ticket cannot be accepted"

I also tried to do the same, but i think it's not possible.
I read somewhere that SAP recommends to use different instances of ABAP and Java. I installed seperate ABAP and Java instances on the same host and then configured SSO using the Configuration Wizard in NWA configuration. and it works perfectly.

We currently have two SAP systems (one for FI and one for HR) both running on ECC 5.0 using a separate ITS box to provide CATS (via FI system) and ESS (via HR system)
We are about to upgrade to ECC 6.0 and replace the existing ITS with the Enterprise Portal.
The EP box will have both the Java and ABAP stacks applied. Now to the crux of the issue...
Do we need to
1. Install both the ABAP and Java Stacks on both the upgraded SAP systems
2. Just install ABAP stacks on both upgraded SAP systems
3. Install ABAP on FI and ABAP + Java on HR
4. Install ABAP + Java on FI and ABAP on HR

ABAP + JAVA system copy

My enviroment is SAP ECC 6 (ABAP + Java add in though we don't use the Java stack) on Oracle 10g/Solaris 10.
I intend to do a system copy(PRD to QAS) using offline backup/restore method. Is this possible for a ABAP + JAVA system using this method ?

- start sapinst on the source system and choose "database specific method"
- start sapinst on the target system and select the same

ABAP + Java Support Pack installation

When updating support packs in an ABAP+Java environment (ECC 6.0), is there any reason why one could not do the Java Support Packs first, followed by the ABAP support packs? We are trying to update our support packs as efficiently as possible, and would like to update our java support packs first, followed by the ABAP stack a few days later.

Hi!
There can probably not be a general answer to that question. There are some functionality where ABAP and JAVA are closely linked and where you'll most likely run into problems if the levels do not match.
Technically there is no problem as applying the SP-Stack for Java and applying SPs for ABAP are independent (technical) tasks, but you will have to VERY carefully check the dependencies and carefully test this in a QA-environment.
If you want my advice: Try to find a 'big shot' solution where you do all in one move.

ISeries ABAP+JAVA

Hello everybody.
My first time on this forum although we have been running SAP on iSeries (successfully) since 2002. We are now on ECC 6.0 and are attempting to upgrade to EHP4.
My question is about SAP On-line store. We are interested to install this (ECO-ERP - XECO - Extended E-Commerce for ERP) We believe that we would have to have a JAVA stack to achieve this. We currently have ABAP only for our main landscape (although we have successfully installed and are using Solution Manager with ABAP+JAVA on our iSeries.
- is our best strategy to implement OLS on a separate Windows environment (we would prefer on iSeries) ?
- if on iSeries could someone provide links as to the installation procedure for the JAVA stack i.e. JAVA Stack being added to existing ABAP -> ABAP+JAVA.
- if you read this Volker perhaps you could respond and we could discuss whether / how you could help with this project (we are based in the U.K.)

Mostly understood. If I could clarify ... your suggestion is to install an additional SID which is a JAVA system - haven't looked at the docs yet but presumably this is linked to the ABAP system (is the database common ?)
Would this entail establishing an SLD linked to Solution Manager for instance.
If you could point me to any documents in the Instguide area that would be useful. SAP Netweaver 7.0 Master Guide as a starting point ?
Presumably allowances for memory and processor would be required.

System copy NW04S ABAP+Java same host

I have this dev system ECC 6.0 (SAP_SID and DB_SID: D01) ABAPJava system and enterprise portal 7.0 (SAP_SID and DB_SID: P01) on the same host (hostname: host1). Now I need to do a system copy of the D01 ABAPJava system to build new system D02 on the same host - host1. Its Oracle 10g/Solaris 10.
My understanding is, after all preparations, to run sapinst with the 'database-independent procedure' to export ABAP+Java at the same time, which creates the Migration Export CD image. Does anyone know of any issues with system copies on the same host? I think I dont need to install Oracle software as its already there, right? I need to get the oracle and sap directories created for the new system D02, please correct me.

Hi,
My understand was have the same installation of ABAP+JAVA ( UR CASE) which will install oracle and everything else auto...and lauch sapinst >> system copy >> then export to anyfolder, move that folder to target system. In target system, launch sapinst >> system copy>> and import.

Why WAS Page does not open on 80 NR ? But Open on 5 NR 00 in ABAP+JAVA Sys

We have ECC 6.0 with ABAP+JAVA System
We recently upgraded to SP12 on ABAP as well JAVA.
After that
http://hostname.domain.com:80<NR> link does not open with WAS Page
But
http://hostname.domain.com:5<NR>00 link open with WAS Page.
Due to this Our PDF Pages generation is failing in Travel Mgmt.
Any suggessions dear Experts.

it give the message in SDM as
