5230 - voice recognition

I just bought a 5230 and it did not assign voice tags to the names in my contact list whether they are on the sim card or on the phone.   When using my Bluetooth, I command something like "home"  and it pulls up calendar, applications, time of day...whatever... anything but the name I'm trying to dial.  Any suggestions?

i am not sure it can work, but you can try this way, first restore your phone to factory settings, unlock code from Nokia is 12345
when you make a voice recognition do it in quit place, I hope this can help,
thanks

  • Voice Recognition and iPhone 5S

Most of the time when I’m using my iPhone 5 (32 GB) it’s in association with voice recognition, e.g. sending emails, sending texts, dictating notes, etc.
As you know, iOS 7 allows you to dictate for about 15-20 seconds before cutting you off in order to process what you have just said.
Just wondering if the iPhone 5S extends that recording time or if it is strictly in association with iOS 7? I would love to be able to double this recording time, if possible.
Anyone know if iOS 8 is going to allow more recording time…?

Since we are just users like you, all we know about iOS 8 is what has been publicly announced.

  • Iphone 6 voice recognition not working

I have an iphone 6 and have had it since October 2014.  For about a month now, the voice recognition option does not work.  I like to use it rather than texting, and emails when I'm on the go and it's frustrating that I can't figure out what's wrong.  I have looked through other threads to try and figure out what else I might do.  So far I've:
    rebooted (hard reset)
double checked that all my settings are correct re Siri and voice recognition
checked that it is not a problem with earphones v. no earphones.  Doesn't appear to make any difference
    Siri doesn't work either
Checked the microphone to make sure it's not blocked or something
I can use the phone feature just fine.
It just seems to be the voice recognition feature that doesn't want to cooperate.  If you have any ideas please let me know!
I'm taking it to the Apple Store next week since I have run out of my own ideas... Thanks!

    Hi bishibarnabee,

  • IPhone 4s Voice Recognition Stopped Working

Voice recognition/Siri worked yesterday but is not working today.  I have powered it down multiple times, deleted new apps, turned Siri on and off but nothing has helped.  Suggestions?

I use voice to text all the time.  It worked yesterday but not today.  I am not a big Siri user but tried it today as well. It acts as if it is listening but does not respond.  I have also tried using my Apple headphones with microphone but that does not work either.

  • IPhone 5 - Voice Recognition Does Not Work

The voice recognition does not work in any application.  When you speak you see the waveform change following your speech.  In Siri, it even recognizes when you stop speaking. In apps like Messages, the progress circle just goes around and around without stopping until you kill the app.  In Siri, the progress circle goes around and around but after a while, Siri comes on and says she can not fulfill the request and to try later.  I think I searched every possible setting.

It is covered under warranty.  Make a Genius bar appointment.

  • How to enter a new line or paragraph using voice recognition

    Hello,
Does anyone know how to make the voice recognition enter new lines or paragraphs?
When I first got my phone I could simply say "enter", "new line" or "new paragraph" rather quickly and it would advance to the next line, or in the case of paragraph it would be two new lines giving a space between the paragraph.
However, in the last month or so this has stopped working. Now, when I say "enter", "new line" or "new paragraph" it will either spell out the words, or it will add a space.
It's really frustrating, making the feature almost useless because I have to keep popping out to the keyboard to hit the return key.
I'm using the voice recognition software to enter text for the applications "S.Memo" or "Google Drive Documents", on a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone with the 4.1.2 Android Version.
    -=John

You cannot unintall "S.Memo", as it appears to be part of Samsung's base OS. I can do a force stop and disable on it as well as clear the data, but I cannot uninstall it. That is simply not an option for the app. I'm not going to clear the data because that deletes all the files I've made for it.
I did a force stop on "S.Memo" and then started the app, and the problem persists.
I power cycled the phone and the problem persists.
I did uninstall and reinstall "Google Drive Document" but that did not resolve the problem either.
Also it seems silly to remove and reinstall these apps, when it's the voice recognition software that is having the problem. This problem happens if you simply use voice input. It even happens when editing the phone's contact's information.

  • Voice recognition no longer works in my 2013 Chevy Traverse since updating to 6.1.4 on my iPhone 5. Any ideas for me?

Voice recognition worked perfect in my new car until about a month ago. Thinking it was when I updated to 6.1.4. Now it never understands what I am saying when trying to call one of my contacts.   If I say a number to call, it can understand that, but not when I say a name. Tried deleting and re-pairing. Didn't work. Tried pairing another iphone5 using same op system and had same problem.

Agreed. Same thing here. Just bought a late model Alpine INE-S920Hd and it is all kinds of broken. I think this is happening because Apple shifted the music and video. Totally buggy. Bluetooth refuses to work properly, too. A2dp keeps stealing the audio from Pandora in the Alpine interface. The ipod controls dont work at all.

  • Do any of the ipad minis have a voice recognition

Do any of the ipad mini's have voice recognition, dvd players and usb port to hook your own flash drive into?

iPads do not have USB ports, they are tablets so no optical drives like DVD players.
There is a USB accessory to read photos and videos off of flash drives or cameras but it only works one way and it only supports photos and videos.
As to voice recognition, it depends on what you want to do.  There are many Apps you can dictate to. For most text input there is direct voice input option in things like Safari, Notes, etc...

  • Why is the voice recognition software so slow sometimes?

What determines the responsiveness of the voice recognition software on the texting application on the iphone5?

Agree the new ios6 is much slower. I found this post by doing a search to find out if it was only me. I've done off & on & a soft reset. Neither helped. Everything seems to load much slower & hangs.
Maybe the new apps aren't optimized yet. However, I had one of my worst experiences with the Apple App Store. One would think they'd know how to optimize their own site & app.
I just hope it's not a bloat issue because the "upgrades" are not worth the performance trade offs to me.
Also, the iMaps are definitely not ready for prime time. I tried getting directions between two locations that were very mainstream and the app said it couldn't provide directions. I'll take Google without turn by turn, thank you. At least let us have a choice and let the best app win.

  • In Mountain Lion, do I have to hit "Done" button to use Voice Recognition

    Hi,
I was wondering, once I hit the fn button twice, which activates the voice recognition, I speak and it listens, do I have to hit enter or click on Done button to conversate it in text?
I wish there's a way that as soon as I am done with the sentence, it should type it up automatically. i checked in settings and i couldn't find anything that can make this happen.

thanks very much for your reply Kurt, that news is quite a relief. As you can probably tell, i'm about to re-build my system from scratch, reformatting my drive. I'm currently at the point of researching do's and don'ts and i should add i very much liked your article on font management!
    Best wishes, Richard

  • Does AS10g Wireless Support Voice Recognition?

    Hi,
We are looking to allow customers to create service requests in Oracle CRM via a voice recognition interface. The customer could speak answers to pre-defined questions over the phone and this is loaded into the CRM via an XML interface. Does AS10g wireless support this? If so, are there standard templates or does everything need to be custom built? Is this a lot more effort than other types of programming?
    Any help would be appreaciated.
    Paul

As far as I know, there isn't anything packaged to log SR into Oracle CRM using voice. But there is similar application available for Field Service Technicians. Technicians can get Customer/Task information using normal phone and using voice commands.
You may try to build a custom application using Mobile XML (MXML) of Oracle iAS Wireless for this purpose.
    Thanks,
    Hardik

  • Voice recognition in iOS7 no longer recognizes the spoken word "period" as a punctuation mark.  Any solution to this?

iOS7 changed a feature of voice recognition.
When composing message using voice recognition (not Siri, just the "microphone" icon typically in either iMessage or e-mail) the voice recognition app recognizes spoken words like "comma", "question mark" and "exclamation mark" as punctuation.  For example if you said "Hello exclamation mark how are you question mark", the voice recognition system would type "Hello!  How are you?"  This is perfect and works very well.
Prior to iOS7 it used to recognize the word "period" as well.  If you said "Hello period  how are you question mark" it would respond with: "Hello.  How are you?" Now, after the iOS7 update, if you say "Hello period how are you question mark", you get "Hello period how are you?" typed back to you.  I've tried saying "dot" instead, and it will place a dot in the text, but it doesn't recognize it as a period: "Hello.how are you?"
Is there some setting I'm missing?  Is there a different voice command to get a period?
Edit:  UPDATE.  **SOLVED**  Apparently there are two ways this can happen.  1.) UK Keyboard or 2.) UK Siri.   I did not have the English (UK) keyboard enabled - just plain "English", but I had turned on the English (UK) Siri because I thought he sounded a little like Jarvis.  Anyway, apparently, that's what did it.  As soon as I turned Siri back to English (United States) saying "period" works.  Note:  If you want to keep the UK Siri, you have to say "Full Stop" to get a period.

Thanks for the heads up!  That was driving me nuts, too.  I was using the Australian English because she sounded cuter than Siri.  "Full stop" works for Australian as well.
Now if I can just figure out why the voice to text suddenly can't understand a word or two in almost every long sentence.  It almost comical how badly the translation suddenly works.  I hope it isn't due to the Australian choice as well.  I've already gotten used to her...  : /
