5310 w/ dead display - need a pair of eyes

Hi.
The display on my 5310 has died but otherwise the phone works fine as long as you can remember the shortcuts. Anyway, this sucks and I need someone to tell me exactly what to click in order to change the USB mode to PC Suite (it is currently data storage). I am going to export everything and import it to a new phone.

Press keys in following order menu key>left nav key>menu key>7 times down nav key>menu key>2 times down nav key>menu key>2 times up nav key>menu key . Now its done to pc suite mode if it helped plz kudo

  • Maintenance Windows - I need another pair of eyes

    Hello Everyone,
    I am looking for a second pair of eyes to ensure I have this process down 100%. The goal is a scheduled client computer reboot following the May patch install.
    Assign a 12 hour maintenance window on my client computer collection.
    Enforce a 10 hour reboot cycle (initial notification).
    Enforce a non-dismissible notification at the 3 hour mark.
    I am running some final tests today. Below is my maintenance window:
    This is the reboot behavior I assigned:
    My first test this morning resulted in the computer say it was going to reboot in 90 minutes! I double checked the computer only had the single maintenance window applied and the client settings were assigned and set properly. I'm concerned there may be
    some hidden maximum value on the restart settings.

    Ensure that you don't have any applications/updates that are set to install and reboot outside of maintenance windows.

    Remember that privileges granted through roles don't count in AUTHID DEFINER stored procedures.
    Your procedure doesn't specify AUTHID, so it defaults to DEFINER; therefore, the privilges to do anything in the procedure must be granted directly to the procedure owner (or to PUBLIC), and not merely to some role that the procedure owner has.
    Maybe a problem with the enclosing quotes, or lack of?I don't think so. If the quotes were wrong, I would expect a compile-time error, not a run-time error. Also, regardless of when you got the error, I would expect the error message for misplaced quotes to be something about syntax, like "keyword not found where expected', rather than something about privileges.
    You're already doing the smart thing:
    {code}
    dbms_output.put_line('Processing '||v_job);
    dbms_scheduler.set_attribute_null (v_job, 'START_DATE');
    END LOOP;
    {code}displaying v_job pefore running it. If you can run that same command in an EXEC command (as the procedure owner), then it's definitely an AUTHID DEFINER problem, and you need the privileges granted directly to you.

  • I need another pair of eyes.... my loops have got me twisted!

    Hey I'm trying to put together a basic tic tac toe game without using any classes. I've written enough code to allow one person to choose a valid position and for next to do so as well. So the game begins and the first player is asked to choose a position on the board,... you select a valid space between 1 and 9, otherwise you have to choose again, after you enter a valid number between 1 and 9 and second bit of code takes the integer value you've entered and converts it into a string for us to compare against the position. Since the 3X3 array is initialized to the numbers 1-9 corresponding with the positions the user selects, if anything other than the number entered appears in the position, the spot has previously been filled and the user is supposed to be prompted to select another position. So... getting back to the problem, after the user selects a bad position the code jumps back up to the top instead of executing the specific error code i tried to have triggered. Along the way you'll notice I've that I've commented out entire blocks of code with some ideas that I've had the have pretty much brought me back to the same place. I feel I've been looking at this thing for too long and i need some fresh perspective. I'm sure I'll be kicking myself when one you nobles points out my flaw.
    By the way player 2 code differs from player one so choose a base and let me know which approach works best.

    I suggest you try using a debugger to step through the program to see what it is doing.
    This will help you understand what you program does.
    I also suggest you try formatting your code in a readable manner or using a code formatter to do this for you.

  • Need another pair of eyes to help on this form..........

    Hello Everyone,
    I have a form that needs a little love.....I have it setup to take values from drop downs and match the values from numeric fields with the dropdowns and multiply the information depending on what is selected.  The problem I am running into is it isn't always working.  If I select one of the first two options in packDes1 then it works exactly like it should though if i select any other monthly option it doesn't multiply correctly.
    The form is found at the following URL for Download:
    http://www.shingleme.com/NewCostForm_6_15_2010.pdf
      Any help is appreciated

    Paul,
    Thank you again for coming through!!!!!!  Once I fixed the typo and put the "if" code block on one line it worked. I have a strange question then though.  can you do something like
    var j = 'justin';
    textfield.rawValue = j.rawValue (Where j is the value justin and justin is the name of a textfield)
    The reason I ask is I went and used find/replace for the other rows in the form to separate all of them but wanted to use inplace substitution though wasn't sure how to do it.

  • How can I get a MacBook with a dead display to display to an HDMI monitor upon bootup?

    I have a MacBook with a dead display that I'd like to use as a desktop.  I also have a 23" monitor with VGA and HDMI input.  I am using the DVI adapter on the MacBook, and a DVI to HDMI converter to connect to the monitor.  The problem is that when it boots, it's extending the desktop over onto the monitor rather than mirroring or using that as the primary display, which is unhelpful.
    Is there a way to get it to use the external HDMI monitor as the primary?
    Do I need to buy a mimi-DVI to VGA adapter to accomplish this?
    I know this works if I connect the MacBook to a monitor with DVI input.  The problem is that my only options are VGA or HDMI for my current monitor.
    Thanks!

    Yes. Use a Mini DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapter.

  • Hardware test and dead display

    Hi all. Does anyone have a way of running the hardware test on a MBP with a dead display card? External displays will not work either. Everything else works, but I can't see what I'm doing to run the test. It's probably the Nvidia issue, but I'd like to poke around a bit.
    Jeremy

    Very likely it is the NVIDIA issue:

    Apple has a test they can run, but I don't know of one you can run without a working video chip.
    Good luck!

    I dropped my phone down the toilet then turned it off and left it in rice over night now it's saying battery dead and needs to be charged but I've read charing it is the worst thing to do, help please?

    After taking a dip in my vest pocket in the washing machine for about 10 minutes, my nearly new 5S spent 5 days in rice and silica gel packets.   It definitely dried out, but there is damage to either the battery or the circuit board because it turns on, and I continuously get a blue screen and it reboots every five minutes for a half hour, and then miraculously, it stays on and works perfectly.  But I wound up having to fork over $700 for a new 6+. because I couldn't stand the rebooting any longer.   I had no insurance, but I do now, Apple insurance, not carrier ins.

  • HT2845 do I need to pair the magic mouse each time I switch it off.

    Do I need to pair the magic mouse each I switch it off, or should the mouse be left in the on position all the time.

    It should pair automatically when switched back on. Having said that, I never turn BT devices off unless I am gone for a long time. BT devices automatically go into a low power mode after a short time of non-use.

  • Fresh pair of Eyes required.

    As experts in web design and this is probably the best place to get help and as they always say a fresh pair of eyes on something spot the errors.
    Would you please look at my site and give me advice on how to improve it or any other suggestions that you may have. I would really appreciate this and thank you in anticipation. the site can be visited at:

    The fluro-green background in 'news update' should be made less of an eye-sore IMO, perhaps a very light gray to match the black/white style of the rest of the website. Use of red text should also be avoided for similar reasons as mentioned before, I think a warm orange or bold grayscale colours to make it stand out would be better suited.

  • Emac with dead display

    Hi guys. I was lucky enough to pick up a triplet of eMacs yesterday. one of them is a 700mhz model that was working until the power button tore off. The other two I was told were 1ghz models, but the CD tray reports 1.25ghz (woohoo!!)
    The one is in pieces, and the thermal pipe is too bent for me to fix it, so I am focusing on the one that is together. It chimes, I get the white light, and using my aluminum keyboard, I am able to make the volume pop, and eject the drive, so I know it is fully booted. I tried the brightness buttons, but they have no effect.
    The display does make a crackling noise when it comes on like the 700mhz model, but nothing comes up, and I don't get the static feel from the front glass like I can on other monitors. There is however a quick flash of light in the upper left corner of the monitor. it only happens once, and only for a second.
    The machine is sadly not covered under the repair program, since the serial number does not match with the ones in the program. However, and what is odd, the last 3 digits of the serial number do not match with the Apple KB on how to identify your eMac, and the configuration is an odd one: 1.25ghz/256mb/40gb/CD. According to mactracker, the 1.25ghz model only came with a combo or superdrive. Also, this model, like the other 2, does not have a modem, even though the port symbol is still there. I got these from a school, so that would explain that.
    If I brought this in to an apple store, do you think they would be able to do anything with it, or does anyone know what the problem is so I could fix it myself? In my mind, it is worth it, and would make a fine replacement for my battle weary B&W G3. I have been looking for a faster machine that can run leopard, and this is it. If I can't get it fixed, I might just end up buying a mini VGA adapter and use it with my LCD, but I was hoping to get the higher than 1024x768 resolution of the built in CRT.

    Thanks for all the help. I got a 3rd 1.25ghz mac, a consumer model with a bad motherboard with leaked capacitors. I was told it had a bad tube, but I swapped in the mobo from the one that sounded like it was booting fully, and tada!! a much newer mac than my B&W G3 for free!! I even got a modem out of it from the dead motherboard. Not that I will need it anytime soon, but you never know. it went in the machine just in case.
    I am now in the process of reassembling the 700mhz and hopefully I will have 2 eMacs. I hope the shell from the 1.25ghz will work, even though there are 2 fewer screws. It does fit, and it is my only shell with a working power button at this point.
    About the only issue is the tube is kinda pink when she first boots (the grey screen with the apple logo has a light pink hue to it), but it goes away after a few minutes. I hope that does not mean it's dying. The machine also seems to take quite a long time to power up. About 20 seconds from the time I press the power button until I get anything on the screen. Must need to warm up, but coming out of sleep mode, the screen is up in less than 5 seconds.

  • PB G4 12'' - No/Dead Display

    So, I've got this Powerbook that I'm trying to get working. The display is completely dead, as far as I can see. It's not cracked, but nothing appears on it when I turn on the computer. The backlight does not turn on either. It gives the comforting Mac chime on power up, then just does nothing (but I assume it is booting normally).
    I figured that the screen was possibly dead or the connection to the logic board could be bad. After tearing it down, I examined the connection to the logic board. It looked good, but I pulled it off and reset it...still nothing. I happened to have another PB display, so I plugged it in, and got nothing again. The main cable going to the logic board is the only thing that I need to plug in to power up the screen, right? That's the only cable I plugged in when testing the other screen, so I hope the bluetooth and airport wiring doesn't need to be hooked up that runs through the display....I don't see why it would need to be.
    So, I'm left to assume it's a bad video card, meaning the logic board is pretty much trashed. Any other ideas?

    Do you happen to have access to an Apple Store? They would have all that stuff there. You could make an appointment at the genius bar. I would say to run the Apple Hardware Test, but you obviously can't with no display.
    If no Apple Store, is there a Mac users club or anything like that? You might be able to borrow the cable you need.
    There's also this article that might be helpful, especially if you have the original discs:

    Good luck!

  • Nokia X3 - screen's dead, I need to extract the co...

    Recently, my X3's screen doesn't work any more, nor do the call buttons. I cant turn it off or on and the only thing that makes me guess that it's still working is that the keyboard lights up any time I slide it open. When I link it to nokia pcsuite the program at first starts working normally, but when I try to access the contacts list, it gives me this error message: "unable to modify USB mode, please modify USB mode from the phone", action that I cannot perform since the screen is dead and the buttons don't work. If they worked, I'd have tried modifying the USB mode blindly (it should be easy, since I just have to press the same button once or twice), but unfortunately I can't.
    Accessing the phone from my PC is anyway possible, without using pcsuite: I can access its memory (which is E in my computer) and see these folders: "images", "others", "private", "resource", "Sounds", "sys", "System" and "videos", plus a single file named card_content.cid. Starting from here, can anybody suggest me a way to extract the contacts and save them on the PC? I don't need to put them inside another phone, I just need to have them in a readable format, with name and phone number.
    Thanks in advance!

    Not sure what you mean by 'Call Buttons'.. but atleast the 'Navigation' button needs to be working to set the proper USB mode. As soon as you connect the phone press the Centre of the Navigation button as if you are selecting something from the Menu and check whether it gets connected in the proper (PC Suite) mode ...Else, it seems a bit difficult to extract the Contacts.
    ..and this is for Future action (for any new phone that you buy)
    1.Back-up your data at regular interval. Especially after you add any important data.
    2. Set the USB connection mode to PC Suite as default. (for Nokia X3-00 its thru' Menu-->Settings-->Connectivity-->USB Data Cable-->PC Suite). With this, even if the display is not working but the phone is, then it will get connected to PC where you can Back-up / Sync your data thru' Nokia suite..

    Unfortunately, yes.  On the upside, your Time Capsule lasted about twice as long as normal.
