DS 6.3 - insync utility
[ldap@ldap1] /opt/ldap $ date
Wed Mar 18 *15:19:08* CDT 2009
[ldap@ldap1] /opt/ldap $ insync -d -d -n -t -T 5 -D "cn=directory manager" -w PASSWD -s ldap-1:13902 -c ldap-3:13902
ReplicaDn Consumer Supplier Delay Transport
dc=company,dc=com ldap-3:13902 ldap-1:13902 0 SSL 03/18/09 *15:29:07 9m58s*
As you can see, even though the System time is 15:19, insync is reporting as 15:29.
I am running the insync utility that came with DSEE 6.3.
[ldap@ldap1] /opt/ldap $ which insync
/opt/SUNWdsee/ds6/bin/insync
Any ideas?

The answer was in front of me and I didn't see it.

The question now is, is there a slow time shift between the 4 masters. The csn generated at any time in a master is higher than the highest it knows from any other master. So if one master (M1) is 10 mins ahead in time, then M2 will also generate csn values which are ahead of the latest csn from M1.
- Do you use NTP to keep time in sync across the boxes. Can you confirm that the time on all 4 boxes is the same?
- Can you please get the RUVs from ldap-1 and ldap-3, this time from the mapping tree entry as this will be the latest. The one in the suffix that was provided earlier is only synced once in a while.

Try resetting it: hold the on/off and home buttons 10-20 seconds until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the off slider that appears first, then release.

  • Winter time - clock always 20 minutes off

    Hi,
Twice a year, the time changes here, and in october the time changes to winter time. Apparently my Archlinux does that automatically, how nice of it.
However, EVERY time, so I go through this shit twice a year, the week or two weeks after such a time change, my computer is always +/- 20 minutes off when I reboot it.
    For example:
Today I booted up my computer at 7:45PM, and the time it displayed was 7:21PM.
You see? The error is not one hour, it is something near 20 minutes.
So I use "date -s" to set it to the actual date. And for the coming week or so I'll have to do that every time after I reboot again, because tomorrow when I reboot, the day after that, and so on, it'll always do this again. And after a week or two it'll suddenly stop happening.
I'd like to ask two things:
-How do I fix this, I find this very annoying and NEVER want to see this again.
-Why does it happen? Why 20 minutes? What kind of process could be programmed to do something confusing to the clock involving a time of around 20 minutes?? It could be Archlinux itself, or KDE 3.5, or something else, I haven't got a clue.
Please help, I'm tired of this shit twice a year.
Windows doesn't do this by the way, so don't blame my hardware.

It was the hwclock. So it kind of was my hardware to blame anyway.
I did "hwclock --systohc" and hopefully that fixed it forever.
Sorry if my post sounded a bit frustrated, it's just because it was such an annoying problem.
It still remains a problem with weird behaviour: on a day where the time changes, it does it perfectly when booting that morning. The next +/- 14 days, it's skewed every morning. Then it's stabilized again.
    Thanks for the help!

  • IPhone time when "set automatically" off by 2 minutes (AT&T?)

I've noticed that the time on my iPhone is about 2 minutes behind what actual time is. I am in Des Moines, Iowa, so perhaps there is some issue with the signal AT&T is sending, but my girlfriend's iPhone also is two minutes off.
Has anyone else noticed the the automatic time on their AT&T iPhone is not accurate?
(In my case, accurate time is the time I am seeing on Mac OS X when using the "Set date & time automatically" option in the Date & Time control panel; if I compare at www.time.gov I find the same time, so it sure looks like AT&T is sending the wrong time out.)

When time is set to automatic on the iPhone, the iPhone displays the time which is being fed to it by the tower to which it is connected at any given moment. Thus if the tower is not set correctly, the iPhone will display the wrong time. You can call AT&T to notify them of significant errors, but switching the iPhone to manual time setting is better in areas where there are significant irregularities, particularly if time stamps vary greatly between towers!

  • Upon opening itunes, message says new iphone Software Version 4.3.5 for the iphone.  I click on download.  As it starts download, the est time is 58 minutes! I try it anyway, but the network "times out," no software update occurs.

Upon opening itunes, I try to download Software Version 4.3.5 update.  Starts off with estmated time of 58 minutes.  Download never completes.

I'm not sure about your problem but i can tell you that since my girlfriend updated her phone to 4.3.5 it doesnt let her put pictures on. I hadn't updated my iphone and could put pictures on my phone. Since i have updated my iphone to 4.3.5 i can not put pictures on my iphone either and results in my itunes library crashing and closing. How do i email apple to let them know of this prob?? Sorry i couldn't help you with your problem.

  • Blank Blue Screen at startup lasts a llooonnnnnggg time  -  3-4 minutes

What else can I say? It just sits there for a long time, 3-5 minutes. Then it finally starts running and gives me the login screen.

So I booted off the install disc (hold C at startup), did an archive and install) and then shut it down. Powered it up and zapped the PRAM at startup (commandoption+PR) and it now boots instantly. Just curious as to what video card you have in yours? I've been reading a lot of threads about problems caused by the ATI Radeon HD 2600, which is what I have in mine. Sounds as if a firmware update is needed, but not yet available. I also had 4 kernel panics in my first 20 starts. Apple Genius Bar said this was due to Symantec Anti-Virus for Mac.

  • How do I log the time in hours, minutes and seconds to a table

    Hi
I'm a relatively new user of Labview. I am currently writing a program that logs the temperature of an oven and the current time to a table and graph. I am using a GPIB card to communicate with the oven. I have used the Get Date/Time string to get the time and the Decimal String to Number to convert the time to a number which I have then put into an array which goes to a table and graph. My problem at the moment is that the time is being logged in hours only. I need to log the time in hours, minutes and seconds. Can you tell me how I can do this?

    Hi,
I can see the setup now. The decimal string to number will only ever give the hours, since the ':' character is not part of a number, so won't translate. Use the code I attached previously to get the time as a timestamp, and then go from there.
I've made some modifications, although you'll need to alter the file save to take into account the double precision number
for the timestamp is now 3E+9 (since it's seconds since 1904!!), but since you're writing to a comma separated values (or tab deliminated) style file, this shouldn't be a problem. You could always do a textual save from the table instead.
    Thanks

  • HT201250 I want to use Time Machine to back up my pictures because my hard drive is full but I'm wondering if once I back up the pictures then delete them will time machine delete them off the back up too?

I want to use Time Machine to back up my pictures because my hard drive is full but I'm wondering if once I back up the pictures then delete them will time machine delete them off the back up too?

    Evetually yes.
If your pictures have been in the same location (same folder, same subfolder, ...) for more than a week, then copies if them will remain in your TM backups until it fills up. They are then vulnerable to being deleted.
If they've been there for less than a week, TM could delete them as early as a month from now. If they've been there for only a few hours, chances are TM will delete them tomorrow.
This is why TM is not the best tool to use to archive data that you will be deleting from your main hard drive. Copy them to a dedicated external drive, or burn DVDs.

  • After updating my iPad 2 to iOS 6, I cannot connect to my router.  I have turned the router off, left off for a considerable time, turned the iPad off and on, reset the network settings, nothing works.  Any other suggestions?

After updating my iPad 2 to iOS 6, I cannot connect to my router.  I have turned the router off, left off for a considerable time, turned the iPad off and on, reset the network settings, nothing works.  Any other suggestions?  It is obvious many others are having similar problems, so the iOS 6 looks like a loser.

I have just upgraded from a 3 to a 4S and now I can't connect to my wifi. I've tried everything, resetting network settings, switching to boot, renewing lease, rebooting, turning off cellular data etc etc. nothing works!! Very frustrating!

  • How to edit Webi Server's setting of "stopped 5 times in 60 minutes"

It is knows that Webi Server will be considered failed while it has stopped 5 times in 60 minutes.
Could we edit it's setting so that Webi Server could be considered failed while stopped at 6(7,8,...) times at Linux Environment or Windows?

Yes, If you have rights to "CMC"(Central Management Console) then you can edit all servers properties.
    Thank You!

  • I accidentally delete all my photo in the "all my files". How could I back up all the photo? (time machine is turn off)

I accidentally delete all my photo in the "all my files".
actually I delete every thing in ALL MY FILES.
How could I back up all the photo?
and other data, such as movies and so on?
Do I need to go to Apple store to back up?
    (time machine is turn off)

If you don't have a back up then you'll need to use a file recovery app like File Salvage
To back up iPhoto you make a copy of the Library on another disk.
    Regards
