6120 firmware v4.21 now up on nokia updater!!

G'day all from Australia!
am now downloading V4.21 after the long wait...let's hope Nokia have rectified the echo problem mwith bluetooth car kit!!

You proposed:

Checking Javascript/etc was enabled/disabled, or erroring.
I flashed the data, had the problems, RE-flashed the data, had the problems, RE-flashed the data, had MORE problems, and then hard-reset to only the original set of problems.
Ergo, #2 and #1 weren't exactly completed, but I believe they were rigorously tested enough.
RE: #3. If you enter in a port field incorrectly, it'll come up with an error alert box. I was still getting that box.

Hi everyone - first post. Just updated my RM-357 to firmware 200.21.118 and reinstalled nokia messaging. so i have 6 or 7 imap accounts from my own domain, as well as a single gmail account in nokia messaging. it synched fine with the gmail account, but for some reason wont synch at all to my domain accounts. the inboxes are blank, wont even download old messages. looking in the log, it doesnt show any synch errors. ive been thinking about deleting the accounts in nokia messaging.
i almost wonder if nokia messaging is messed up right now. im on server netac4.vie.hosting.nokia.com and if i try to add or edit an account if i can get it to work at all it just hangs and says 'Unable to connect to the server. Please try again later.' i don thtink its on my email server end, as it happens with different accounts from different hosts. all my other email clients have no problems whatsoever connecting to my various mail servers.

Seems that the firmware V 20.0.012 for Nokia 5800 was released ages ago but its still not availabe for Indian users.

Well if you got the Phone Pggray43 at a Local Corporate store in your Area) you should be able to return it as long as you have all the contents.! Phone, Charger and any other accessories that came with it the Box of Course.. As long as you have not went past the 14 Day return.. the store can go over what you used as in Air Time and Data..
Now if you've went past the 14 Day return you be Liable to pay a E.T.F = Early Termination Fee the fee for this is around $300 so hopefully you have not went past the 14 Day return window the Manager if Available is the one I would talk to tell them your on Social Security and you just can't afford a phone as this I'm sure they'll work with you to get something solved..

when I had 11.0.034 firmware. I consistantly got this message "Your software is up todate" though 20.0.058 software was released. Will Nokia tell us why this ia happening ?

Your post is unclear. The main reason for this is that you do not mention which phone you're using. Anyow, things such as this can happen because of two (2) reasons:1. You have a branded phone, which contains software customised by your operator
2. You have a CV-variant, where CV stands for Country Version or Country Variant.
If the former is the case, you will need to wait until your operator releases the firmware for your specific model; Nokia's responsibility ends here.If the latter is the case, you will have to wait a bit longer, as not all CV's have been added to the database yet. To find out whether you have a CV or not, post the FULL output you have when you press *#0000# on this board (in this topic), and e-mail your product code to Nokia (you may choose to also post your product code on the board.

Well - it looks like you have really taken well to the new Nokia Software Updater. We can also see that there is a little bit of confusion about the service in its present state right now.
So... We got an email from the NSU team that gives a bit more info on the topic:
The Nokia Software Updater checks which software is available for your particular phone by comparing the software you currently have with latest software assigned to the 7 digit product code of your phone. If newer software is available for your 'variant', it will be downloaded.
In case the Nokia Software Updater says no new software is available but you believe this to be incorrect, please post your product code to these boards.

Your product code can be found on the label in the battery compartment (e.g. 0501234).

Greetings everyone.
I contacted Nokia Support, and they sent me some info on how to get support locally some days ago. However, I plugged my phone again today and voila! to my surprise, it detected the new firmware and right now that I'm typing, I am updating to the new version.
I'm not sure but I think I should thank Nokia Support for registering my Product Code and certainly for responding to my request in quite a short time.
I should also thank all the other guys who gave me help on this issue, specially scoopyman.

Why does the 7.51 version firmware not appear from within the Nokia Suite as an available update? x3-02 RM-639 here currently at v5.65.

Updates vary by region and product code and operator handsets,which may be locked and in most cases you are left waiting,
Contact your provider if your handset is locked and ask them.After that you may just wait.

Well when you download the update with iTunes it will always download the whole new version (in your case 7.0.2) even if its just an bug fix. If you already have 7.0 download the update over-the-air.
You already wrote that the update is only 21 MB, so its not the whole firmware package of 7.0.2 you get with iTunes.

Once it is downloaded you need to restart the computer if it does not restart automatically. When it next starts up you should note a progress bar appearing below the Apple logo. When done the computer will restart once more. The new firmware should now be installed.

Nokia Updater - not downloading update.

Hello. While I was downloading the updates today for my n95 it got to 80mb out of the 113mb or whatver it is.
Anyway, I lost internet connection and it never finished downloading the update.
The phone is fine and still works a treat, however. Whenever I go to update to firmware v12 it does not even search or try to download the updates anymore. It just tries to install the update.
I have searched high and low on my computer and deleted all my temp files and re-installed all nokia update software but it still skips the download part and goes straight to install.
And of course, it fails.
Any ideas?

Is the Nokia update service down? I can't connect to it via OTA nor Ovi Market, so is there a place to lookup the status of the service?

The version of the firmware downloaded by NSU and installed into your phone is identical regardless of where you get it from. It is dictated solely by your phone's product code.

Nokia Update Software just refuse to install

Hi there,
I would like to update my 6288 firmware but can't since the phone doesn't seem to have the first updating option, aka OTA option.
There is the second option : Menu ---> Settings ---> Phones ---> Phones Update ---> Install Software Update.
But I can't do that since I don't have the last firmware and can't find it anywhere on Nokia website.
So I tryed the third option. The Nokia Update Software option but guess what ? It's NSU who don't install because of some error. I've these error codes :
1) Install Shield Error 1603.
2) And then this second error :
I would appreciate if someone was ready to help to use one of these 3 option.
1) OTA Update
2) Direct Update from the phone menu ( the best one I guess )
3) Helping me to install properly NSU in order to finally doing the firmware update.

Were you trying to upgrade PC Suite to 6.83 rel_14.1 from a previous version?
If you've not used Nokia Software Updater before is Windows NET 2.0 or 3.0 FRAMEWORK installed? If you've loaded every Windows Update it is probably there, but is not a critical update and not on Xp install CD.
I wonder whether remnants of previous version remain and perhaps you need to use Windows Installer Cleanup Utility - msicuu2.exe as mentioned in above article
If you try to uninstall PC Suite 6.83 rel_14.1 you can remove core application but cable driver portion remains; these programs are "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solutions"

Nokia update following Tango (Lumia 800)

I have the new Tango OS (8773), however I haven't received the Nokia update so can't get any of the new apps...anyone know why this is, can anyone help?
Zune just keeps telling me I have the latest update :-(
Firmware is listed as 1750.0805.8773.12220 however I go to Marketplace and can't see the Camera App etc?

You can force the Tango update....I did :-)
Zune - Setting - update - when it says no update available click out and go back, click update again, wait 2 seconds and unplug ethernet (disconnect from network) timing is essential by the way and wait about 30 seconds, Zune will then say update available. Plug ethernet back in and update ;-)
