  • GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC - Display driver has stopped responding & recovered

I'm having a with a problem with my new MSI GTX 560 Ti twin frozr II/OC.  About once a day (sometimes more) my display either crashes and goes dark or the display fills up with small squares and then goes dark.  After about 10 seconds the display comes back and I get the error message: "Display driver stopped responding & has recovered.  Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version xxx.xx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I am not much of a technical troubleshooter but is this a driver issue or a problem with the card itself?  Some forums out there are saying that I need to increase the GPU voltage, etc.  Being somewhat of a noob, I am looking for the easiest explanation/solution that even someone like me can handle...thanks.

  • MSI twin frozr 4 GTX 670 fan problem

    Hello
Just notice that only one fan on my GPU is spinning up.
I did notice my temps were getting a bit high under load, then I noticed the card was on running the one fan.
Does this sometimes happen or should both fans be on at the same time?
    Thanks for any reply.

    Hi
Latest update. I rma'd the card. It was sent back fault not found, both fans working.
I installed the card back into my system and only the one fan is working. I tried all four pci-e slots and still only one fan works.
I don't think it has anything to do with the motherboard as i installed my gtx 570 twin frozr 3 and both fans are working
I have all latest drivers for the card and chipset installed
I have no clue now, thanks for any advice

  • [Tech Help Needed] GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB SC Fan Stops Working

    Hello everyone.
It's extremely rare for me to have computer issues, but this time it happened.
MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB SC, and here's the issue:
Whenever i turn on the computer the gpu fans spin for around 5seconds and after that they stop, for now they seem fine since i'm usually idling for the 1st 30minutes or so, but when i start playing games the gpu temperatures skyrocket to around 60-70 idling  in-game and the fans just won't start working, yes the the psu cables are connected to the gpu, bla bla ( duh ). i've had the gpu for around 2years and it worked fine but all of a "sudden" the fans just seem to not work and it starts getting very high temperatures, i've read someone complaining about the same issue and he was told to replace his gpu bios with some uefi bios and he said that the uefi update solved his fan issues which were the same as mine.
Now my problem is, i've never done that "Bios Flashing" and things like that and i don't know if my Board is compatible. If it worked for that person then it should work for me since the symptoms are literally the same. I've tried uninstalling the gpu drivers completely and installed again, the issue still persists.
If it's of any reference i own the following setup:
MB : ROG Asus Crosshair IV Formula
CPU : AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE
GPU : MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB SC
    RAM : 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaw X 1600Mhz
PSU: Corsair GS 700 Gaming Series ( yes its more than enough and good enough )
I've literally had no problems whatsoever with my system for a few years now, and just like that the fans don't want to work, i can play games and what not, but at around 70ºC with no fans running ..... i've tried using MSI Afterburner to boost the fan speed, the fan speed setting gets set but the rpm stays at 0. i also made it to run on windows start and its still at 0 RPM.
Will the uefi bios solve my problem like it did to the other person with the exact same issue?
Thank you for your time spent reading, hopefully it will be solved.

Still no reply after 2 days, impressive support right there ... every other post that came after got replied ...
Anyway, if its also relevant about my issue :
    - Fans briefly spin after i press the power button to turn on my computer and stop right after around 3-5s and never spin again until i shutdown and power on again for the same brief spin.
    - If i force the fans on Afterburner to 90% or above ( 100% ) they spin and make unsupportable noise.
Also if its of any relevance :
    N660 TF 2GD5/OC
    S/N: 602 - V287 - 050B1302044857
At least provide me with the most up-to-date uefi/gop vbios or whatever that is, to see if it fixes my problem, otherwise recommend me a substitute cooling system that i can use ( a good one, not 3rd rated ) to replace the stock cooling in this because i don't have the money to get another card, and if i get one it won't be from msi for sure.
    Very dissapointed.

  • One solution for 'iTunes has stopped working' message

This worked in my case for iTunes 10.5 on a Dell Inspiron 1525 running 32-bit Vista. Symptoms started after I had to re-install it. Suddenly, whenever I tried to dl anything from the store, the dl would hit 100%, then I'd get the error message and DEP would then shut down the program. Upon re-starting, the dl wouldn't be in my apps list. (However, the actual dl WAS in my iTunes folder -- it's just that iTunes couldn't 'see' it.)
I followed all all -- and I mean ALL -- the Apple guides over the course of 2 days with no success, even after numerous re-installs. Also tried every obsure suggestion I came across in the forums here -- and there were a lot!
What finally worked for me were the suggestions at this link:
    http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/87249-unable-install-latest-version-program-vi sta.html
Following the suggestions there, I discovered uninstalled 'debris' residing in the App Data\Local and App Data\Roaming folders, specifically two Apple folders with content. I manually deleted these. These locations aren't mentioned in the Apple guide to manually uninstalling your iTunes. (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923)
I also discovered debris throughout the registry which I removed manually with regedit. (Make backups of your registry before you go rummaging around in there! The usual warnings apply...)
I also found two Quicktime files residing in the main Windows directory. (Ver 10.5 no longer installs Quicktime and I had un-installed my previous versions) I don't think these made a difference but 'off with their heads' anyway.  (^-~)
BTW, all of this occurs after I used Revo Uninstaller in moderate mode. So even it didn't catch all the leftover debris. (I'm not brave enough to try it on a more aggressive setting...)
Thought I pass this on in hopes it saves someone some grief....

iTunes has stopped working message after having it open for one minute.
I open itunes and a message comes up after a minute "itunes has stopped working". I got the update automatically to my Windows 7 64 bit pc 10.5.0.142.  After reading tons of probelms online about version 10.5
I have decided to do nothing for now.  Seems people are putting hours into trying to fix it.  I was going to uninstall and reinstall but seems that isn;t working for to many people.
How do we get some help from apple?
Anyone have any answers???  APPLE HELP please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Twin Frozr II GTX 580 Fan speed unlock

    Hi all,
My GTX 580 appears to be over heating so i'd like to be able to flash the bios if possible, (any tips appreciated) with a modified file to unlock the 30-100% speed fan profile.
    Any help appreciated.
    Kind regards!

Thanks, already know my way around Afterburner though . Its limited to 80% max fan speed... thats the issue! I want to unlock the 100% fan speed.
I downloaded the newest GTX 580 BIOS from the MSI website, and modified it with NiBiTor. There are numerous articles on how to do, and flash the BIOS properly, with a google search.

  • My HP Office jet Pro 8500A all in one printer-A910a has stopped printing more than 1 or 2 pages

My printer (wireless) has all of a sudden stopped printing more than 2 pages from a multiple page document. Any suggestions/

    HI RODA80,
Welcome to the HP support forums.  I understand that when you are printing a multiple page document on your Officejet Pro 8500a that only the first 2 pages print.
To better understand the issue would you please provide some further information:
    1)    What operating system are you using (Windows 7, Mac 10.8, or Windows 8, etc)?
    2)    Is this happening for all multiple page documents or just one?
    3)    Has a default of only printing the first 2 pages been accidentally set?
    Thank you.

  • One of my accounts has stopped sending

I am using Thunderbird portable v31.5.0 on Windows 7.
Until recently Thunderbird has never failed me but now one of the 40 or so accounts I have in their is refusing to send for the last week or so.
It's a gmail account, and I have manually logged in without problem on the web, and allowed 'less secure apps' to connect.
Then I deleted the account altogether from Thunderbird and recreated it.
However still, it will receive emails from that account, but will not send.
All it ever tells me is "Login to server smtp.mail.com failed." and "Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent using SMTP server smtp.mail.com for an unknown reason. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact your network administrator."
This is my main account (Typical!) so any help in working out what the problem is would be appreciated.

I actually recreated the whole account and it didn't work, but doing it again did, I'd love to know what was wrong, but at least it's OK so thanks a million

  • One row of keys has stopped working.   System was fine last night, sent it to sleep as usual. When I woke it up this morning, the keys were dead. I made no changes to the system at all recently (new installs, font changes, etc.).

The keys that no longer work are on the lower row, from Z~/ (plus the left-most Command key and the space bar on the bottom row).  System is iMac (Intel), about five years old, running 10.5.8 (happily), with a wired keyboard (with number pad).
Solutions tried (all without fixing the problem):
    - change to another keyboard
    - change keyboard(s) to another USB port
    - reset SMC (twice)
    - reset PRAM (twice)
    - switch to another User Account
Kind of running out of ideas ...  Anybody have any suggestions?

    Other things tried:
    - checked all the options in Universal Access, to make sure none of the 'Sticky Keys' etc. were activated
    - booted from the Install disc ... still no go. Even then, the same keys don't work.
Looks very much like a major hardware fault, I guess ...

  • Need Replacement Twin Frozr ii/ Twin Frozr ii Fans

I broke one of the fans on my Twin Frozr ii (finger meet fan). It seems impossible to find a dual linked module of 80mmx80x10 PWM fans online.
I was wondering, does anyone have a spare Twin Frozr II Heatsink or Twin Frozr II fans? Like someone who went with water cooling or something.
    Thanks.

Fixed your image. Seems like bearing of the fan is bad then. Since MSi doesn't sell spare parts in most local markets it would take to rma the card which should be possible if card is still covered by warranty.

  • N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC Coil Whine with OCZ Z1000M

    Hello,
i am using the N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC , and it has serious coil whine. my psu is the OCZ Z1000M :
    http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-z-series-1000w-power-supply.html
this card needs 42a on the 12v rail, and the psu has 83a on the 12v rail, so it should be more than enough for this card, thats why im quite sure that the reason for the coil whine is the graphics card. could there be any other correlation between the psu and the graphics card which are causing this coil whine ? could the psu be the source even if its more than strong enough on the 12v rail ? its very very hard to locate the exact location of the whine.
    best regards
    br1zz

That whine has been occurring on many NVIDIA graphics cards regardless of brand and model, not just MSI. Gigabyte, ASUS, EVGA, Sparkle or whatever, they all have had similar complaints and even warranty replacement you can't assured of getting a new card that won't make the same noise. Apparently there is just enough of a gap between PCB beand whatever component making the noise to allow the high frequency vibration to occur.
Possible fix would be to determine exactly which part the noise comes from and apply a small amount of hot glue, silicone sealant/caulk or maybe Elmer's White Glue where the part meets the PCB and see if that eliminates the noise. Out of all the complaints, and there have been many not a single one of them have replied back saying whether this method cured it or not.
I've even seen a comment from DaLoona on the f@h forum about his making such a noise.
There have also been plenty of complaints about similar noise on some ATI cards. also.

  • Fan noise: GTX 580 twin frozr

    Hi!
I have the following graphics card: http://se.msi.com/product/vga/N580GTX-Twin-Frozr-II.html
The fan at the bottom or farthest apart from the connectors makes a lot of noise especially from the center of that fan. The other fan keeps quite as I expect it to be.
Is this a known issue? how can I fix this problem?
It is not sitting loose so that is not the problem. Seems to be the fan itself that is not in prime shape. How can I get a new one? MSI's support doesn't seem to answer and now I cant even submit a new ticket.
    best regards
    Andreas

you have to rma the card to get repair

  • R6950 Twin FROZR III Fan Replacement

Simple question, Where can I buy a replacement fans for this card?  One of the fans has 2 broken fins and the other is not spinning @ full speed so I get vibration from one and the other can't cool enough.

dunno if r6950 Twin FROZR III has reference PCB or not,
you can ask msi at: >>How to contact MSI.<<
About the aftermarket cooler, you should ask the aftermarket cooler company, they should have compatibility list

  • MSI GTX580 Twin Frozr 2, how to identify it?

    Hi,
I need to verify if the graphic card that is in my computer is really MSI GTX580 Twin Frozr 2, and not GTX560 or GTX570 (to check if i wasn't cheated...). I cannot identify it from the others twin frozr 2 cards since it has same cooling system and no distinct markings anywhere on the card, or at least i dont know about them. Computer still isn't functional, but will be later on today. I didnt receive card in package, but already installed in miditower case.
So plz i need fast answer, if there is any visual identification i can do, or software that i can use later today to see what graphic card it is.

    tell S/N of your card
or just run VGA software like Afterburber:
    http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/images/MSIAfterburnerSetup220Beta.zip

  • Any Reason Why Should I go with MSI Twin Frozr II 6870?

Do you guys have any reasons why should I go with MSI Twin Frozr II 6870 than other reference card??

MSi is only one of two mfg w/utils to control voltage on their 6870's the other is ASUS.  Price is a tad higher than some but the cooler is reference so its not like its a twin cooler or something like the 5xxx series or the 6850's custom design (not a twin cooler however).  If you dont plan on OC and tweaking voltage its probably not an issue then foor spec the 6870.  Id check out all, best price and warranty, some offer 3 yrs or lifetime.  When a custom cooler becomes avail on 6870's (only 6850's have them now last i checked), then id have more to comment on and suggest.
