7920 maximum working distance

Hi,
I'm working on a project to deploy a wireless network on a wide open area( 3 Kms, for ip telephony mainly. The big question is: how far can I go with a 7920 without problems? Is it possible to extend this range (using another antenna or something like that)?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
The best way to know for sure is to test. I have a working environment with seven access points in a half acre space (about six building). I can use my 7920 within 15 to 20 feet of an access point and then the call quality starts to degrade.

  • Maximum work process hold time exeeded

    HI ALL,
My user is running one Report painter report. He is getting the values in the report with out any issue. But after trying to filter the data, he is getting the error as "Maximum work process hold time exeeded".
And some times he is getting the same error while exporting the data to the local file from the report.
Is it because of SAP GUI version and patch level?
    Kindly let us know.

  • PCI-6023E maximum working voltage2

    Thanks Mr. Alan A
    I am "434343" memeber.
I recive your response to my question about "Max input voltage of PCI-6023E" .But I have some questions.
According to the "Data Acquistion Specification- a Glossary by Richard House" ( Application Note 092):
"Maximum Working Voltage (signal+common mode)= the highest voltage level that can be input to board without saturating the input."
    And according to your response:
"measuring a signal with higher common mode voltage than that(11V) might not accurate"
But in may experiment with a potentiometer (floating differntial source with (-)13.5V and (+) 5to22V),I could successfully measure the signal without saturating and without error (Max error is about +/- 0.02 volt)!!
I think that the maximum working voltage of PCI-6023E is greater then 11 volt??!!
or my measurement has a little error.
I think that I don't need to use a signal conditioning circuit.
    Please Help me.
    Thans again.

  • Maximum work process hold time exceed

    Dear all,
One of my SAP user got the below error in SAP PROD server , kindly check below logs .
u201CIRP maximum work process hold time exceed. This may be caused by network problems or slow front-end-systems.u201D
Note : SAP Gui also latest installed , still the user got the above error .
    Kindly suggest

This error message means that the SAP server (a workprocess) wanted to send data to the frontend (SAPGUI) but the frontend didn't either confirm that the data could be sent or the data didn'T reach the frontend at all.
As already specified in the error message itself this can be caused by a slow (swapping) frontend or by network problems.
Another reason can be local firewalls or firewalls between the server and the frontend.

  • The maximum cable distance from antenna and Cisco 1200 series.

    Hello all!
I?m using the Cisco 1200 Access Points Series with two 2.2dBi dipole antennas. I have read the installation guide for that Access Points and that can be installed with the antennas in separated places. But this guide didn't mention the maximum distance for the antenna cable...
Somebody here can say me this maximum distance?
Had somebody here made this kind of antenna installation with cable?
    Thanks.

Oh Yeah!, I absolutely agree on "shorter is way better"
Given any chance / choice at all, I'd try to keep the cable length under 25 feet. If the option is available for a NEMA cabinet to get the cable shorter, I'd probably do that too.
Since it's good practice to use a chunk of fiber optic cabling between the external stuff and the inside network, you may as well put the AP as close to the antennas as possible and convert the copper to fiber for the long haul.
You get some lightning protection (at least you won't smoke all of the systems sitting on your LAN) and better signal strength (and probably signal quality too).
For something like a 200' run, if forced to do it (we're talking "gun to the head" forced here), I'd probably be looking for something like Andrew LDF4-50 1/2" Heliax with probably a weeeeee bit O' amp tossed in for good measure.
That would also imply that the system would also have to be re-certified, because of the non-standard components ...and a pretty good budget to boot.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

  • Maximum FC distance

What is the maximum LC-LC cable distance between X4200 server (SG-XPCI1FC-QF4) and ST 6140 storage system directly attached.
    Any idea?

The specs say that the maximum distance that multi-mode fiber, LC to LC connector, can run is ~400 meters. I've run lengths of 500m without issue however. It also depends on the GBIC used. For longer distances, you'll need single mode fiber which can run several km without errors.

  • Monitor vibration over long distance ( 300m)

    Hi everyone,
Currently, I have a project to monitor vibration (16 IEPE channels) from a station that is more than 300m away from monitoring station. Looking at NI's products, I have a few options:
    1. Using ENET-9234:
    - Only 4 channel/module. I need to use 4 modules in total, and need to connect to a router.
    - Ethernet distance is limited at 100m. To reach 300m, I need to use at least 2 repeaters, which are not suitable for my project (off-shore environment)
    2. Using MXI-4 with Fiber Optic: PXI-8336
    - Maximum allowed distance is 200m.NI recommend to add another segment (i.e. add another PXI chassis in between) to extend range to 400m. Or use optical converter to convert between multi-mode fiber to single-mode fiber to extend range
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/C86BF63CC73C6721862575F2005A246D
These recommendations are not suitable either due to harsh contion in the sea and difficult maintenance.
    3. Last option is acquire and process data at the site. Then transfer only processed data back to monitoring station over GPIB or RS-485.
I would like to seek your advices on these options. Is there any way to avoid the repeaters in between?
If you have any other ideas, please kindly let me know.
    Thank you very much!
    Have a great week ahead!

  • 10 Gig distance and Modal Bandwidth on MMF

I am struggling with a concept and not finding much in the way of answers.  The spec sheets for SFP+ 10 Gigbit Ethernet optics list the maximum cable distance as a funtion of the fiber type (MMF or SMF), Optical Wavelength, Core diameter and Modal Bandwidth.  However, there are several distance entries for similar items that only differ in their modal bandwidth.
For example a SFP-10G-SR when connected to 62.5 micron MMF lists the maximum cable distance as either 26M or 33M depending on the modal bandwidth (either 160 or 200).  Is there a way to figure out what the modal bandwidth of a given fiber strand is (short of performing a full fiber characterization study)?  It seems that there is no relationship between the grade of MMF (OM1, 2, or 3) since 62.5 micron fiber should all be considered OM1.
This is becoming an issue since many companies are wanting to run 10Gigabit Ethernet over some incredibly old fiber plants, and I am trying to get an handle on which distance measures listed in the spec sheets are more realistic when they list multiple distances for the same fiber type that only differ in modal bandwidth.

"unfortunately moving the buildings closer together isn't an option"
Everything comes down to money.  If they want to use the older fiber, show them a cost comparison between the cost of moving the building versus installing long reach optics (10G LRM or LX4), pulling new fiber or installing a 10GE Free Space Optics link between the buildings. Just wait until the customer wants to move to 100GE links over the fiber....
For some fiber links, you may have to test by installing some 10G equipment.  I have not found information regarding how long the OM1 (with low modal bandwidth) was manufactured.  Fiber can be highly variable and sometimes the distance specs leave some operating margin and may support the longer link.
    Good luck!

  • The program "RIAFVC20 " has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime

    Hi  ,
When running transaction IW49 we get a shortdump
Details of Abap run time error follows
The program "RIAFVC20 " has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime
    and has therefore been terminated.
Can I have solution why this is happening.
    Thanks In advance
    Regards
    Suresh kanna

    Hello Suresh,
It means the program has exceed maximum work process runtime value set to paramter rdisp/max_wprun_time in your system. If you believe this program runs beyond that value, I suggest you to run the program in background.
If you can't run this in background, then increase the value of paramter rdisp/max_wprun_time. It is dynamic parameter (RZ11) where you don't need to restart SAP system after parameter change.
    Hope your query is answered.

  • Is there a maximum memory allocated?

    Dear all,
Anyone knows if there's a limitation to the maximum memory
that labview can allocate in Win98?
I cannot allocate more than ~ 19500 KB and my computer has
    1GB.
    Cheers,

It seems it is a problem with the working set size and locking of pages. We have developed under Win2000 and have a double buffer daq application. The problem was the application was too late in the loop to get the data from the driver so it gets overwritten. Think of calling AI Read in a loop and the loop stopped for some time.
I suppose you have no documentation for the windows API so I give you some from the MSDN.
VirtualLock is the function which locks memory into RAM.
"The VirtualLock function locks the specified region of the process's virtual address space into physical memory, ensuring that subsequent access to the region will not incur a page fault.
All pages in the specified region must be committed. Memory protected with PAGE_NOACCESS cannot be locked.
Locking pages into memory may degrade the performance of the system by reducing the available RAM and forcing the system to swap out other critical pages to the paging file. Each version of Windows has a limit on the maximum number of pages a process can lock. This limit is intentionally small to avoid severe performance degradation. Applications that need to lock larger numbers of pages must first call the SetProcessWorkingSetSize function to increase their minimum and maximum working set sizes. The maximum number of pages that a process can lock is equal to the number of pages in its minimum working set minus a small overhead.
Pages that a process has locked remain in physical memory until the process unlocks them or terminates.
To unlock a region of locked pages, use the VirtualUnlock function. Locked pages are automatically unlocked when the process terminates."
The SetProcessWorkingSetSize functions allows you to get more locked memory.
"The SetProcessWorkingSetSize function sets the minimum and maximum working set sizes for the specified process.
The working set of a process is the set of memory pages currently visible to the process in physical RAM memory. These pages are resident and available for an application to use without triggering a page fault. The size of the working set of a process is specified in bytes. The minimum and maximum working set sizes affect the virtual memory paging behavior of a process.
The working set of the specified process can be emptied by specifying the value -1 for both the minimum and maximum working set sizes.
If the values of either dwMinimumWorkingSetSize or dwMaximumWorkingSetSize are greater than the process' current working set sizes, the specified process must have the SE_INC_BASE_PRIORITY_NAME privilege. Users in the Administrators and Power Users groups generally have this privilege. For more information about security privileges, see Privileges.
The operating system allocates working set sizes on a first-come, first-served basis. For example, if an application successfully sets 40 megabytes as its minimum working set size on a 64-megabyte system, and a second application requests a 40-megabyte working set size, the operating system denies the second application's request.
Using the SetProcessWorkingSetSize function to set an application's minimum and maximum working set sizes does not guarantee that the requested memory will be reserved, or that it will remain resident at all times. When the application is idle, or a low-memory situation causes a demand for memory, the operating system can reduce the application's working set. An application can use the VirtualLock function to lock ranges of the application's virtual address space in memory; however, that can potentially degrade the performance of the system.
When you increase the working set size of an application, you are taking away physical memory from the rest of the system. This can degrade the performance of other applications and the system as a whole. It can also lead to failures of operations that require physical memory to be present; for example, creating processes, threads, and kernel pool. Thus, you must use the SetProcessWorkingSetSize function carefully. You must always consider the performance of the whole system when you are designing an application."
But these functions will not be supported under Win98. I know from some other function which was stated to be not supported under Win98 were supported under Win98SE.
But thats the time to get an answer from NI personal with more insight into what NIDAQ and the lvdaq.dll does.

  • Working on Schedule Formula - include/exclude lunch based on total hours

So I was starting with the basic schedule template they have. They only problem is that it ALWAYS deducts 1 hour for lunch regardless of the length of the shift.
Here is the formula I have:
    =IF(OR(G8="",G9=""),"",IFERROR(G9-G8-Administration Information :: $B$1,""))
How can I modify this to make it only deduct the 1 hour for lunch if the total hours (before lunch) is more than 5.5 hours?
The 'Administration Information' is where it gets the lunch length from.
    Thanks!

No one has asked about that template for a month or so. Usually the question has to do with the Start and End times for the shift. I remember a long time ago when I looked at that template for the first time I thought it would be good to make the lunch variable.
You wrote a very good question. You mentioned exactly what template you were using and stated clearly what you wanted to do.
You can Hide column C in the Admin table since it doesn't have much purpose other than to contain the Duration constant for maximum work time without lunch.

  • Lens correction help needed: Nikon 14-24 used in model shoot...

    Hello,
I just finished a model shoot with 9 models standing in a horizontal line relative to the camera.  Because of the very short working distance I had to use a Nikon 14-24mm lens to fit everyone in, resulting in the end girls being noticeably distorted (unpleasantly "wide").  They certainly won't like that!
I've opened the raw file in CR, but have not found settings for lens correction that fix this.  CR has the correct lens profile, but no matter how I play with the settings manually or automatically, things just don't look right.  Similarly, if I open corresponding TIFF in Filter -> Lens correction, I still run into the same issue.
I've enclosed a sample out-of-the-camera image so you can what I'm talking about.  Hoping there's a way to correct the twp outermost girls w/o sacrificing those in the middle...  They are much slimmer than in the shot.
Running PS CS 5.5 on Win7/64
    Thanks!
    Jerry

    Hi Toasted
I've seen the adds for the DxO Viewpoint and thought they had a great idea on their hands providing it as a Plug-in. However, I've been using the full DxO Optics Pro as my Raw file editor for a couple of years now, and ran your shot through that, and not the plug-in.
Judging my my results, I think the full version is a more powerful tool; the "Volume Anamorphosis" correction in the full version is a semi-automated tool. Simply applying the correction at the initial automated setting still left me with some distortion in the models at either end, which was especially noticeable in the girl on the extreme right. However, I then manually tweaked the setting to the maximum available, to get the result above.
Now, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and you can't get something for nothing, and the same applies here. What's actually happening is that the Volume Anamorphosis is being "corrected" by re-introducing a set amount of Barrel Distortion into the image, oh, and the image has also been cropped, which is most noticeable in the bodywork of the cars on the left and right, but this is unavoidable. It isn't too obvious here, but if you were to have strong horizontals or verticals in the image, you'd see the curvature in them very easily.
Take a look at my own example below.
This was taken with a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, and in the original the guitarist on the left, and the keyboardist on the right, both had the dreaded "squished head" effect! As you can see that's been fixed, but if you look at the pipes above the lights at the back, the line of the monitor cabinet at the lead singers feet, and the microphone stands, you can plainly see the curves... which is still infinitely preferable to distorted heads!
    Good luck

I allready have a modem router Belkin, a Time Capsule and an Airport Express. The problem i have is that i have a many meters from the Belking and Time Capsule to the saloon (Airport Express). Can i buy an PLC and use it with my network connection???

... Can i buy an PLC and use it with my network connection???
Yes, but be aware that some work, and some do not.
It is not a question of using your Belkin router with a Time Capsule and Extreme or not. The problem is that it is impossible to know whether PLC will work in any particular installation, because building wiring practices can vary so much. Its maximum propagation distance is also unpredictable, for the same reason.
All you can do is try it.

  • PP CS: Scrool Wheel Zoom Misbehaving

I'm on Mavericks, PP CC, 7.2.1
When I hold down the alt key to Zoom out a timeline, if I zoom out too fast, it loops around and zooms into 1000% to the frame by frame level.
To replicate the behavior, I just go to any point in my timeline, hold down Alt, and scroll the mouse wheel towards me. It zooms out, out, and out, showing me more and more of my timeline, and then suddenly zooms all the way back in the closest possible zoom level. At this point, if I continue to zoom out by moving the mouse wheel, it'll once again zoom out, out, out, until it gets to the maximum zoom distance and then bangs all the way back to frame level.
If I keep spinning the mouse wheel while I hold down Alt, I can continue to zoom from frame level to fully zoomed out and back to frame level forever. This is incredibly frustrating behavior as it's impossible for me to quickly zoom out to my full timeline.
If I go very slowly with my mouse wheel, I can get it to "stick" at fully zoomed out level, but again I have to be careful - if I spin that mouse wheel too fast, bammo I'm back to 1000% zoomed in at frame level.
It also appears to be ultra sensitive, as you can see on the attached video. I'm holding down Alt and moving my finger probably one inch on my scroll wheel, maybe half it's total rotation, and it zooms WAY too fast.
It does not do this if I Zoom in with my mouse wheel, meaning if I am at 100% zoom and I zoom into 1000%, it won't "loop back around" like it's doing when I zoom out.
You can see in the attached video the frustrating behavior, as well as the speed I'm moving the mouse wheel. I'm not moving it very quickly. I have tried different mice as well, and their scroll wheels behave the same way. In previous versions of CC, when I was at the furthest zoom level, it would simply "stop" there no matter much I scrolled the mouse wheel. Now it loops around.
This behavior does not exist with CS6. My mouse wheel works fine in every other application on my computer as well. What's the trick to fixing it?

Thanks, I'm aware of the keyboard shortcut, but the question is about the scroll wheel behavior. I don't always need to zoom out to view my full timeline, sometimes I only need to do a few steps, however not only is the scroll wheel zoom far too "fast", but if I don't stop at exactly the right place or use exactly the right speed, it loops around back to 1000% zoom. It makes it basically impossible to use option+scroll wheel to zoom and as I said, if you go to fast, you're at 1000% zoom and usually totally "lost" in your timeline as a result.
You can see in the video above by looking at the scroll bar - as soon as I go just one tiny smidgen above 100% zoom, it slams you back to 1000% zoom. As you can see from my finger movements on the wheel at the end of the video, it's not like I'm spinning the thing at 500mph, I'm just moving the scrool wheel at the same speed I scroll everything else on the computer - web pages, Word documents, etc.
Scroll wheel behavior is fine for all other apps in OSX, firefox, Photoshop, etc. It even works fine in PP CC when I zoom in - just not when I zoom out.
On PP CC for Windows, the behavior is fine. I zoom out with the alt+scroll wheel, it reaches full zoom, and stays there. It doesn't "loop back around" to 1000% zoom like you see in the video above.
